The last few days Eadon had been struck by an... idea of sorts. Yeah, that was the best thing to call it. Maybe a theory would work better, though he didn't exactly have any large quantities of scientific research to back up his theorem.
"Well, I guess that's why I'm here..." he said, smiling brightly at the thought, "I need to actually do some research if I want to figure out whether or not this is viable..."
The public forge was kind of massive, with crafters everywhere and materials of all kinds for all kinds of purposes. At the same time though, it was also really claustrophobic. Eadon was used to working in a nice, small and quiet forge, where he was left more or less to his won devices - not in a place quite so crowded and noisy as this one. He needed to find someone else to help him out with his project though, and the public forge was no doubt the best place to do so. Or at least so the young blacksmith hoped.
Unfortunately for him, he had yet to really find anyone of a sufficiently high level in the blacksmith crafting class as to be of use for his project. Which presented a tiny bit of a problem. If Eadon couldn't find someone else with a decent enough level, there was no way that his plan would work. Not just any old novice would do, after all. he needed someone who was at least as skilled as he was.
"Damn, this is harder than I thought it would be. Surely a high level crafter isn't that difficult to find? I'm starting to understand now why Adler was so happy that I could help her with her gear the other day..."
Sighing, Eadon stopped looking around and set out all of the variegated tools and items he would need for this project. The most obvious one, being an old beat up set of chainmail armour, sitting in the middle of his work space.
It was still fairly early in the morning, Eadon having gotten into the habit of rising early ever since he had come to this new world of Elder Tale. While he usually was a late sleeper, for whatever reason he preferred being awake to see the sun rise, now that the world was as amazing as this one was. Said sun in Elder Tale was now sitting just above the horizon, glaring down through a thin cover of clouds. It didn't look like it would rain today, which all considered was a bit of a blessing for the United Kingdom. Hopefully it wouldn't turn out to be all too hot, either. Working on a super hot day near a super hot forge was rarely a good combination. In fact, it was one more likely to lead to heat stroke and possible feinting spells than any actual work being done.
I really wish i had taken a frost spell, now... Eadon thought to himself, musing over the thought, though I guess that Icicle Impale could work. I wonder if the no PvP limitation applies to hitting yourself with spells, too? That was an odd thought, for sure. While you most definitely could not attack players easily inside the city limits, it could be an interesting loop hole in the rules of you could cast the attack spells on yourself. Especially if said attack skills also happened to be Area of Effect style spells.
Moving on, though. Today was not for experimenting with the anit-PvP functions in city zones.
The goal for todays... research... was to find out whether or not the extraction of valuable materials from unused, old or just downright damaged equipment was possible within the game world. While Eadon had a few ideas of his own on how to go about that, it was anybodies guess as to which of those methods would actually prove workable.
Slowly building up the heat in the forge nearby, Eadon pursed his lips in a frown, tapping a hand idly against the worktop. The chainmail was low leveled, but it had taken three presumably level one materials to forge. Hopefully, with a little bit of work on the process, he would be able to extract those three materials from it. No doubt it would be a very useful recipe, if he could make it work, considering how many players had junk beginners materials sitting around in their inventories just waiting to have valuable materials extracted from them.
"Maybe using a hammer first, to see if I can break down the equipment into its component materials without the forge" Eadon said to himself, lost in thought once again, "I wish there was someone here who could help me out on this..."

Do you believe in ghosts? “Great…” A low grumble seethed through the teeth of the player as he returned to the city of London. The man hugged his clothes to his body and was barely able to keep himself walking in a straight line due to the tired feeling which spanned his body. It had been a long, cold night of hunting and his day was coming to a close. He needed some sleep or some sort back in his shop where he could lay in front of his forge. Unless of course someone had placed an order in his books, then he would have to take another few minutes to craft and notify the player.
Saber was a hunter and he enjoyed it, but he was also a crafter, a blacksmith, so he had to deal with any potential customers who visited his shop. Even so, not many people even knew he was a crafter, let alone a shop owner. He kept a mask over that fact and never revealed who he was behind closed doors as to keep himself out of the spotlight. It was easier to hide his crafting skill than it was to hide the bow strapped to his back, the knife on his thigh, and the little throwing daggers on his hips. The less publicity he got, the better he felt. Sure, it would only be a matter of time until someone put two and two together or saw him wander into the shop and never come out, but he would keep it to himself as best as possible. The idea of being bothered by people for items and equipment while he was hunting made him angry just thinking about it.
Thankfully, he still looked homeless so not many people bothered Saber in his travels. The bow on his back was only a level five bow and it was in good condition, but his other weapons weren’t exactly golden. The materials available to him were pitiful so he couldn’t make any amazing weapons and he couldn’t find a tailor willing to craft him any basic gear to replace the rubbish he wore. It was as if he was stuck between a rock and a hard place, and as a higher level attempting to continue to grind; it was becoming irritating. Saber was at the point that going into combat unarmed seemed like a viable option. His equipment was limited in strength and power, but there was no limiter on his fists or legs. One good kick without a weapon would deal some damage, but Saber would just need the guts to do it.
As he walked through London, Saber began to glance around at some of the players, checking for any signs of new gear or things that stuck out in general. Due to his gear being so terrible, if someone else had something better that looked manmade than he would have to jump on it and ask the player where their craft was done. However, it seemed that every other crafter around was either slow with their leveling or in the same pinch that he was. Materials were horrendous so creating something viable for use in combat that would last a while was most likely impossible. Although, Saber knew of one answer to the problem, but he would have to test it first before he dared spread the rumor. False lies would lose reliability after a while, much like in the story “The Boy who cried Wolf”. Saber wanted to increase production capabilities amongst crafters so the terrible gear he saw would go away, not do the opposite and weaken the other players. He was an assassin, so such a thing would help him kill other players, but he had other things to worry about.
Saber mused over the thought of what would happen once the way to gather better materials spread through the crafting sector. As he turned the corner and stood just at the edge of said sector, Saber slowly eyed each of the individuals around. The rusted and flimsy equipment Blacksmiths created would become sturdier, the leathers Tailors used would become hardier, and the potions Alchemists made would obviously become more potent. Saber could see it; the day when the ruined city of London would begin to grow out of the disgusting pit of rot it boiled in. He didn’t want to be at the helm of such a change, but at the current pace people were going, he might have to be. Saber hated knowing such a thing and it made him tremble at the thought, but a revolution was needed, desperately.
Just off to Saber’s right, he noticed several players were setting up their shops for the coming day. The sun was just peeking over the horizon so night-time hunters, like Saber, were returning from their adventurers while others were just waking up. Curious, Saber made his way over to the stalls and glanced over the various weapons in sight. Unlike the ones he crafted, which were each individually personalized for the client, the weapons these players were selling were generic and simple. There were no curves in the swords, no notches in the knives, no special grips, and nothing amazing in the armor. Many of the weapons were “one size fits all” per say, and that made Saber ashamed to call himself a blacksmith. No wonder people had shabby equipment.
With that sick feeling of disgust lingering, Saber regretted wasting the ten seconds of his life and began to walk away from the stalls before he noticed another player sitting at a work table of sorts. He had some chainmail on the table and was lost in thought, to say the least. Saber didn’t plan on interfering directly, but he decided to head over anyways. The man had some time to spare and it wasn’t like he was going to pass out on the floor in the middle of a conversation. Although, he was still fairly tired so he would attempt to keep things simple. His brain was still bothered by the engagement he had with a herd of Nepents ten minutes prior to arriving back at town.
“You look perplexed…” Saber said out loud to the yellow haired player who sat at the work table, mostly as to keep the other player from jumping at him. “Not very many crafters around here look like that.” Keeping his hands in his pockets, Saber stood across the table from the other player and looked down at the rusty piece of chainmail. It looked just like the other weapons and armors he had seen at other stalls so it bothered him a little but he kept that to himself. He doubted many other crafters had the experience of being an apprentice. “May I ask why?” From how the player was looking at the chainmail, and the look on his face, Saber could guess it had something to do with the armor. Yet he was no mind reader so he simply tucked his nose under his scarf and waited patiently for a response as the tattered clothing warmed up his face.
