Questing, in many cases, required groups to finish and execute. This particular quest required finesse and power, which was the perfect job for the assassin, however there was a need for two assassins, and since Kumori was here, he needed to find one other. Who? He wasn’t completely sure, but he figured if he waited here long enough, he’d meet someone. He’d meet someone just as capable and just as competent as he was. Assassins were a somewhat rare breed, at least true assassins. Just as in Fate/Stay night, there were many differences between the Fake Assassin and the True Assassin. Where the True Assassin depended on the ability to meld with the shadow and to attack with deadly accuracy without being noticed or when to stay his hand, a fake assassin would swing his blade around, dressed like a samurai, killing from the lightened path. Assassins kept hidden when they were on mission regardless of the circumstance. That was the pride of a true assassin.
Now you may be wondering what the quest is. There was a plot to assassinate a certain Noble who was starting to be vocal towards his opposition. The goal here was to prevent any assassination attempts against the man. The quest was to happen in London. Landers are not bound by the non-aggression system, however because they were, the Lord of the castle, the man who was the target, enabled the Adventurer’s abilities to fight like they normally would on the field. They would be body guards, but they would remain hidden and prevent any and all attackers that came by to do harm to this man. This was only meant to be temporary, until the man who was responsible was found, however it was indeed a necessity to have two people. Because one set of eyes was not enough to counter-spy against another assassin, two were required to ensure the safety of the Lord, and so Ryuu awaited for the arrival of another agent of the dark. Man or woman, he’d be glad to meet one that was like himself. Ryuu would wait patiently, as good help did not come without patience.

word count;1210 Avalon wasn't sure what to think of the quest she signed herself up for. It actually was more like an order than anything else. A day ago, an old man approached her after a long day of a hunting for quite a few adventurers and people of the land. It seemed that the first hunting quest she accomplished for the friendly old man when she was only a level one adventurer was spread to some people. She had been only an inexperienced adventurer who hardly knew any knowledge of the Elder Tale game since she partied, maybe a little too much. It eventually led to her being arrested as if she was asking for it. Despite everything she did, she didn't regret any of it. Okay, maybe a little. The arrest would always be on her record and people might look differently at her but she soon, moved past that ordeal after much lecturing and emotional turmoils. She was given more limitations and made her more introspective about many things in her life. This eventually led her to play Elder Tale to hopefully release her stress and tension that she had but instead, landed her trapped in a dangerous world where she panicked and even gave her more stress than usual. After watching some adventurers, she had forced herself to adapt to her new reality. She soon readily accepted any quest that came her way that included hunting, body guarding, and killing beasts that were pests in farming for a few landers, Still, there were a few exceptions. She detested those landers and adventurers alike who seemed too eager and willing to give her a quest to kill other humans including the people of the land since she considered them humans and had recently observed that the people of the land too, had showed their own personalities, behaviors, and opinions. It unfortunately included some of them resenting adventurers, which she didn't quite understand at that time. They were not just mindless NPCs who sold items and gave out requests to adventurers. This was why she couldn't help but widen her eyes and be surprised sometimes when a lander would randomly chat with her and express animatedly their opinions. Each time was like a new experience for her.
She had been sitting contently on a bench in London quietly enjoying eating an apple in the hot humid afternoon. She had chatted quite animatedly with some adventurers and some lander enjoying their company also acquiring the low-downs on anything going on that might be of importance to her. It was one of those few times when she felt like she could be somewhat carefree in a public location. Besides, she didn't have any bad experience in the market place before. All was well until suddenly that day, a shadow coming closer to where she was at immediately caught her eye. She had glanced upward at a pudgy middle aged man that strutted toward her. He held his head high and had an air of importance to the point of looking obnoxious. The middle aged man was wearing a commoner's clothing that seemingly blended in with the crowd. Smart. If he was someone of importance or even royalty, that was a good decision to go unnoticed by anyone who might notice him in plain sight. She couldn't afford to appear intimidated in front of someone important and it seemed like something discreet based on the way he didn't greet her immediately so she continued munching on her apple. Besides although he was an elder to her, her motto was 'I only obey authority I respect' and he didn't look like someone she would easily trust. Still, she was also someone not to be easily trusted either. Lying, flirting, making someone feel comfortable were her skills in getting out of trouble though sometimes, didn't always work. She narrowed her eyes at a sealed document that she opened readily. She cautiously read the document that stated terms about a contracted quest to protect a nobleman who was targeted for being too vocal toward the opposition. The prospected rewards were tempting enough. It also stated that another adventurer had been already hired but they wanted to be more cautious and provide more protection. With a moment of hesitation, she accepted the contracted quest. She didn't see any negatives about accepting the quest but she was wary of working with another assassin. Working with another adventurer would be more productive but even though she was outgoing in interacting with other, she was mostly a solo player when it came to quests.
Despite having done a bodyguard quest before, she felt anxious as she headed toward the location she was contracted like that time when she was getting ready for her first job interview. Her heart was racing. People would say she constantly looked happy and carefree. That was a facade. She was an optimistic and flirtatious individual but that facade she unconsciously honed over time covered emotional turmoil she held inside. Irritation and sadness would be replaced by a carefree attitude. The blow over of held emotions wasn't pretty. She hated showing her vulnerable side. It was her silent enemy that she was constantly fighting. Butwas doing so far so good. Nothing that caused her to become sad happened. Quick witted sarcasm would replace anger. People that disliked her would attempt to break her but she mostly held steady though there was this one fight that landed her and the other person in the hospital. The insults cut deep into her. You don't just talk shit about her family. It wasn't a subject she wanted to her. She just hoped whoever the assassin was, wasn't an adventurer she would clash with especially that she was almost there. She had to be one with the shadows. Avalon wore her dark leather armor and brought her trusted bow and arrow. Using a bow might not have been the best decision in this type of job but it was one of the most silent ranged weapons to use. Quick and efficient. As she walked quietly, she smelled a musky and rusted scent that irritated her nose that she crinkled her nose and struggled to hold a sniff. It wasn't a human scent. Maybe from the walls and interior of the surrounding. It had an ancient presence. Suddenly, she noticed a slender figure in the distance. Who was it? It must be the assassin right? Or could be an enemy posing as the another assassin who she was contracted to work with. Maybe she was being a bit too paranoid for a normal person but this wasn't a normal job. If anything else, she had to remain cautious inside but stay nonchalant outside. Walking up to him, she came face to face with a slender brown haired young man. He didn't look like he could do much damage as a guardian but he was the perfect built for the assassin class. She greeted him, "Hey there hotshot," with a playful wink and continued with a friendly smile, "Are you that assassin I'm working with tonight?" as she presented the nobleman's contract she received for the quest and used that as a signal for him to show her his contract as well.

| Kumori HP: 100% MP: 100% | "In order to live, I will continue to fight. In order to retain my humanity, I will continue to destroy those who mean to harm my friends." |
As the woman approached him, the male assassin was sitting on a bench, eyes closed, preparing for the coming assignment. What she would see is a man clad in dark clothing. Over his black shirt was leather armor that was also dark in nature. He had the tailor make it as dark as possible without destroying the quality of it. His daggers were attached at his hip, above his buttocks, and his long hair came to about his shoulder blades.
The quest wasn’t one he was too concerned with. While it shouldn’t be too difficult if Lander Assassins were sent, it wouldn’t be surprising to see an adventurer taking the job that the two assassins were trying to prevent, but in this case, it was unlikely. If they were to truly prevent something done by an adventurer, even death would not stop him. Ryuu knew that if such was the case, the two assassins would be on this job for the long run, and honestly, Ryuu had no time for that. However, if it was the case that an adventurer was attempting to assassinate this noble, he would attempt to deter him and discourage him from doing it again and again.
The woman spoke to him, greeting him with something less traditional. ‘Hotshot’ he liked the ring to it. He opened his eyes to catch the woman winking at him and he waved his right hand and stood up. The woman had dark-green hair, much like someone else he knew. She was slender and definitely a sight to look at. From the looks of her weapon, it looked like she was a ranged Assassin, so her expertise might come in handy. Ryuu was a melee assassin which often times limited him. He did have his throwing knives, but without a satchel, they were too difficult to take out during a fight. “Hey,” he said smiling to her, trying not to be unfriendly. If he had known her better, he’d have said ‘How you doiinnn? Can I get yo numba?’ and other foolishness like that, but this was a quest. Fun and shenanigans were always secondary to the objective. She waved her contract in front of him as she asked him for his own. He quickly produced the document, removing it from his inventory and waved it, showing the seal of the Nobleman who had hired the both of them. “My name is Kumori, it’s nice to meet you,” he’d say as he offered his hand for her to shake. If she did shake his hand, Kumori would bend over slightly to kiss the top of her hand, that is if she didn’t attempt to take her hand away. “It’s a pleasure to meet, you,” he said with a smile.
After introductions were in order, it was time for them to go to the castle they were to be stationed at. The walk was quite the distance, and Ryuu didn’t feel like running at the moment, rather strategy was in order, and it was still during the day. An assassination attempt in mid-morning would be foolish for someone to try, so it’d be best to strategize with his colleague.
“Thoughts on the mission?” he asked, an attempt to get the feel of this Assassin’s style. With that type of information, he’d be able to utilize her assets as well as he could and to join them with his as well. After hearing her out, he would be able to then formulate a plan, but he did have a general idea of what to do. After she said her bit of what she thought of the mission, he would tell her generally the idea he had in mind. “I would like it so that one of us was with the noble at all times, visually, and the other to stay hidden so that they do not know where the other is. With your choice of weapon, though, I would say you’d be more fit to stay in the shadows,” he said, rubbing his chin with his fingers. “What do you think?” he asked her, trying to engage her cohort in this. This was not his job alone, rather he needed to work with her to ensure this mission was a success.
