"Don't worry it's all part of the plan, Inferno Strike!" Verin jumps off and goes for the first slime out of ten with an overhead swing with his longsword and then rips it out of the slime, spins on his heel in 360 degree motion grabbing another slime the edge of his sword and ramming it into the remains of the first one and then jumps backwards to where he originally started and said, "Use Astral Torment on a few while fight the others." Verin then performs a basketball maneuver he picked up in the real world, but couldn't remember what the name of it was to get in front of Kite and went to take out another one. Verin noticed his Inferno strike had gone away and did not care in the slightest, he just used an upwards blow sending the slime flying and the jumped after it and as it was in the air almost in half way to the ground Verin finished it with a swing of his sword. He then ran back towards Kite. When he just entered the circle he was attacked by another slime going for Verin's back, Verin quickly reacted by blocking with his sword and then said, "Inferno Strike!" Verin was glad it had taken enough time for the spell cooldown. Verin was able to smack the slime away and when it hit the ground it met it's end by Verin smacking his blade into it. Verin quickly ran back to the circle to help Kite, but was pretty sure he got all of them to arrgo.

what the! how did he do that?
Kite accessed the menu and selected Astral Torment, targeting down one of the slimes with 2 successive shots , and a 3rd with 3
Thank god most of the enchanter skills have short cool downs: just 30 seconds and thats 5 debuffs spread across 2 slimes!
Kie then Auto attacked the second slime using the menu, dealing 10% extra damage, before he selected another skill from it:
"Holy Banishment!"
Red's hand glows with a white aura, and a small beam of light burst from it: The slime lost its aggro on the party and even retreated a short distance.
However, the other slime managed to catch Kite unawares
"Gah!"
The slime hadn't done much damage, but it had
The Cooldown timer on Holy banishment had just expired however, allowing kite to give himself some much needed space
"Verin, how the heck do you fight like that using the menu!"

Riff wakes up on the steps of the Parliament. "So this is what a sugar induced coma feels like." He reamarks before realizing where he is. "Wait, England, oh thank God...wait why am I in England." Stands up and looks around more before noticing the floating screen in front of him. "Oh wait, I'm playing that game Kite told me about. That's a relief... Wait what?" He keeps making realizations and taking them back for 10 minutes until he finally reads the screen in front of him.
The screen reads: "Welcome Riff. Please choose primary weapon." Below that, a few boxes are there for him to choose from, but instead of normal weapons, there are various musical instruments. He breezes over most of them, until he finds one that catches his eye. An Alto Saxophone. "Hmmm, I don't remember that from the original game," He notes, "I'm not complaining, at least I could use something more my style this time." He picks out the Alto Sax without a second thought.
Next, the screen reads: "Please choose your secondary weapon." Various boxes fill the screen, this time filled with more traditional weapons. After some consideration, he eventually decides on a spear. He has always had an appreciation for the weapon that is the spear. A weapon that's entire purpose is to poke it's target to incapacitation, or preferably death. It is a very underrated weapon, usually seen in media stereotypical guards, while the more important characters got swords and battle axes. Riff always had more underrated tastes. Him and spears were a match made in Heaven. He touches the box with the spear, and the entire screen disappears in a flash.
A moment later, a Sax and his spear are in each of his hands. He inspects both pieces of his equipment. The spear looks like it's been through Hell and back. It'll do for now, but will have to be replaced as soon as possible. The Sax, while fairing slightly better, is still of pretty poor quality. He would play it to see if it works, but he doesn't want to attract any undesirable foes. "I should probably go find some allies. Something tells me I'm more of a support role than a one man army."
Riff searches the area for a few minutes, to no avail, before moving on to the Grove. There he comes across the two Mage classes. He checks their profiles, and recognizes Kite. He goes to approach them, calling out to Kite. "'Try the game','you said 'You'll like it!' you said! I mean, I'm happy to see a familiar face, but it's your fault I'm here." He is oblivious to the slimes.

Verin raced to get behind Kite and said, "I just let the hand I'm not using slide on the menu so much that I don't even realize it. You could say it's like using the force." Verin the riped of the slime that had attacked Kite which killed it and proceeded to continue attack another one behind Kite with a downwards thrust and then went for one in the opposite direction in front of Kite with a back flip and slicing through it. Inferno Strike had ended a few moments ago and that left the two under Kites Astral Torment. Verin decided to finish this up with a cul de gras. "Inferno Strike!" With this the last two were nothing but gunk on the ground and some gold scattered on the ground. Verin dispelled his magic and sheathed his sword. "Well time to see how much we got from it all," Verin then started going around picking up the gold, but he had to admit it was not much.
After all of it was picked he heard the human coming up and did not have a clue what he was talking about. "Excuse me but who are you I do not believe we've met."

"My name is Riff, Riff the Bard. master of using sound to strengthen friends and weaken enemies, preferably with a cool rhythm accompanying it. I have a preference for Jazz and Funk.I also have a spear to stab things with, if I need to, but I wouldn't rely too much on it." He holds up his Saxophone while speaking. He was surprised by how much he knew about his class, considering he only played 20 minutes of the game previously. Various songs of various rhythm and style flowed through his head. This was normally no strange occurrence for Riff, he always liked to think of a tune whenever he didn't have his iPod. But this time he saw the potential of effects for all those songs. Slowing foes to a crawl, putting them to sleep, making them indifferent- wait a minute...
Riff focused back on his possible allies. "I'm taking it as you were transported into this game to. Never mind about all that 'What the hell is going on?' thing, I've come to accept it will probably never be cleared up for a while, so I might as well focus on fitting in here. I'm thinking it would better if I join a group like yours for the time being, because as a Bard, I can't really hold my own. But my musical prowess should help you guys hold your own with my various skills I can produce. I can also eventually Brew helpful tonics for the group if I get enough ingredients, and hold a crap ton of them with my extra delivery space." Riff just remembered he picked Brewer and Courier as subclasses. At the time, he originally just picked them because they sounded cool, but the actual reality of what they do still sound pretty cool. "So can I join your group?

"So that makes 2 support classes in the team huh?"
Red looked over Riff's skills, taking into consideration the two subclasses
Brewer and courier.... if i know Riff, then he probably chose those as a bit of a joke role, but the skills seem pretty impressive, Especially the Detox....
"Hey, hang on a second, we should have enough money from beating those slimes to make each of us a small meal. Ill get going."
Kite went to one of the nearby stores owned by The People of The Land, and bought a couple of ingredients, before combining them using the menu command. A veritable spread of food appeared before the adventurers.
"Alright! fighting those slimes was tough, but it looks like it will be well worth it!"
As he bit into one of the dishes, Kite seemed to pause, as though the food is disgusting. Which wasn't true at all...
"This.....doesnt even taste like anything...... I mean, it literally has no flavour at all......."
Red then decided to talk instead of eating the incredible disappointment that lay before him, and turned to Riff
"So, you decided to get 'Elder Tale' huh? this is probably not the best of introductions is it. Or the best event for me to return to...."

Verin chowed down on the food and said, "I have to agree about the absence of flavor but it I would prefer this over food I don't like." In the inside Verin was miserable and thought, no I take that back food I don't like would be better than this. In between bites Verin stopped and said, "Well now we've got a special attack type and two mages maybe we should find a healer class and one more attack type that way I don't have to be on the front lines all the time and I can help from the second row and I can then work on my subclass as well as my main class and Riff and I can switch out from first and second row to help each other out while you Kite can do both of your classes from one spot, but I think you need to move around more so that way you aren't a sitting target for enemies." Verin was trying to think of anything else, but drew a blank and had to go back to the seemingly bottomless pit of his food trying his best not to frown at the very tasteless food he was eating.

Riff chows down the food with little resistance. He has very specific tastes with most things. Food and drink were one of the exceptions this fact. He thinks about how he should probably start doing a good job at judging tastes, considering, as a Brewer, the tastes in his drinks could mean the difference between life or death. He wonders if he should start working on making some tonics later. He should probably start by finding a market were he could get his ingredients. It will take a while for him to master making a decent drink. The most experience as. A barista he had was mixing a bunch of soda and energy drinks together. Even though he enjoyed it, others didnt seem to like his Diet Red Pepsterola concoction. He'll need to learn to have good taste if he wants to get anywhere in this dog eat dog (at least he thinks it's dog eat dog) world of RPG Brewing.
He lets his mind wander back to the moment, and finally responds to Verin. "I think we should try finding another offense class to add to our team. I can't be relied on to take out anything on my own. I mean, sure me and Kite could power you up pretty good combined, but what if we, say, get swarmed by too many slimes for you to handle. Then we'd be in a pretty big pickle. Another offensive member on the team would give us some well needed insurance."

"I know and we should find a healer class in case of strong monsters because when I get into a fight I stick to the plan I make and go crazy you guys haven't seen it yet because this wasn't much it was a basic horde of slimes and compared to my experience with fights in other MMORPGs this was like breaking a piece of pencil led, even in this strange occurrence." Verin took a few more bites out of the fowl food of nothingness hating it all the way wishing it would go away mumbling curses at the food. After finally finishing his food he noticed movement in the flowers and he could hear the familiar noise of a rabbit. He holds his hand up, signaling for them to be quiet, he gets up and quietly draws his sword and quickly runs forward and silently swings his sword weakening the rabbit in one blow and killing it with the next one.
He walked back with the few pieces of gold he got from it in his pouch and said, "Well I think we should head back and look for people to join us and also find a place to sleep because I think we won't have enough for a roof over our heads tonight and I want to save up so I can buy equipment when I reach level five which should be in a few days at the rate we're going."

Kite sighed
"The problem is that every one of us is - not to put too much of a point on it- squishy as heck. I mean, im not doubting Verin's combat skills, but what he just did today was incredibly risky! After all, the main weakness of the sorcerer class are its low health and defenses."
Kite started at the food and started to think deeply
"What we need more than anything is a tank, preferably a guardian, who can draw the enemy aggro without taking too much damage."
Kite then stood up
"But i think thats for another time. Im going to try and do some exploring for a while now, so I'll be seeing you. Can i put you guys up ass freinds so we're able to work together again in the future?"

"Definitely, I'd love to help out when I get more songs. See you again Kite, and nice to meet you Verin." Riff runs off. He passes several slime and rabbits, but ignores them. He wants to focus on getting to his destination, The Market. If he's going to want to survive, he's going to have to master his craft, brewing delicious drinks that could support his teammates. He starts to get tired, especially with the Alto Sax weighing him down. But he still trucked on, if he wants to be a courier, he'd have to get good at running. Plus, he didn't want to risk being killed by a slime of all things, that would be just plain humiliating.
After some more running, Riff came across a man in peasants clothing. The profile of the man told him that he was an NPC, but he looked pretty indistinguishable from a normal rea life person. He didn't think about it too much as the NPC spoke to him. "I'll pay you 100 Gold to deliver this package to the marketplace." Riff took the package and immediately saw who and where he was supposed to get it to. He instinctively ran in the direction of the Market. It's a good thing he got that package, he actually didnt know where the market was previously. When he finally arrived there, he delivered the package to an Artisan. He stood there awkwardly for a few minutes until the Artisan replied. "Are you going to buy something?" Riff, confused, spoke back. "Aren't I going to get my gold?" The Artisan chuckled and then spoke again. "My friend, the shipping fee is not my problem. Get it from the guy who sent you." Riff sighed and started running back to the spot the NPC was.

Kite walked off, but his intention had never been to, say, just walk back to town. First he had to test an idea that he'd had ever since the fight:
Verin mentioned that he just' let his hand slide over the menu, like he wasn't thinking about it.....was it really the menu, or was it something else....
Kite kept walking until he found what he was searching for: a single Young Pitted Boar
Right here goes....
Without opening the menu, Kite got into the position he'd done when he'd used Astral torment with the menu open.
"Astral Torment!"
To his delight, Red found that his body moved as if it was insctinctive. He'd been right: Verin had unknowingly been using some form of motion or voice input system!
However, the boar wasnt pleased about taking a DOT debuff, and charged. Kite however, wasnt' interested in fighting
"Holy Banishment!"
Red's hand flew out and a burst of light struck the mob. The boar was stunned for a second, before running away on stubby little legs, probably for mama pig to ram the Big Exorcist Bully
"So, its not about the menu, its about our actions, almost as if we are our characters...."
Red started heading back towards windsor. There he may learn some more about this place, meet new people, help others, get some quests, tell others about his discovery.
Little did he know that this was something some others had already caught onto: Kite certainly wasn't the first to learn this. But he had learned without anyone telling him directly, which helped make him feel better when he found out.
It was his first day in a Brave new world. A world much like those he'd dived into to escape reality. But now HERE was the reality, and time would tell to see how he would adapt to it....
