| Skills: | : Word Count : 0597 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | So it was time. It seemed that there were a few players who wanted to get to know the game better, and what better mentors than the two highest level players in the area? That was @dindeen and Kumori. The two were now officially dating, but they also made a good set of teachers. Since the both of them were well experienced and because they both knew the things you should do and shouldn’t do in a fight, it was good for them to be together as a team. It was much more fun with more people, and having a tank and dps duo to teach was probably the best pair you could find. Anyways, because the now dating pair of adventurers were here, they now waited for the two players that had requested their help. They decided to do it together because of the awesome and epic things that could be had with four people instead of just two. In addition to that, the OOC side of things, Makuso was actually Mayo and Neun and Rien’s son(?), I think. And Falfura had responded to Neun about the mentoring thread. So here we go. Where were we? Well it was for newbies, so it had to be at the Savill Flower Grove. It wouldn’t be fair to the lower-level players had the two brought them to a place that would most likely kill them. In addition, well, the two teachers were walking from Londinium towards the flower grove. “My Honey!!! Aishiteruyo!” he proclaimed to her. He didn’t say it that loud, as he knew how shy Kyuu got when people were around, especially so when he did public proclamations of his love for her. She’d probably still gut punch him and then walk off, but she just wouldn’t gut punch him as hard. As most people would’ve guessed or thought, this couple was most likely to ship from the beginning. Contrary to popular belief, this just recently got decided… They really were just going to be really close friends. But circumstances happened upon circumstances, and eventually they shipped. Hurray! So those of you who have been cheering us on from the beginning… arigato! We probably would’ve gotten here even without you. Anyways, while the couple ‘fought’ playfully and Ryuu continued to tease the samurai by tickling her and making her feel embarrassed until she finally gave him a kiss and said ‘I love you’ back, they awaited for the two students they’d be teaching. Once the first of their students would show, they would go to all-serious mode. It wasn’t good to allow their relationship to get in the way of their normal working habits. They still had to be good examples and still represented the largest guild in Londinium. The two were strict teachers, and fighting in this game wasn’t funny business. Death was just as real to them as the real world, and so each class had a role in a fight. “Hello… as my display name shows, my name is Kumori, and this is Caerbannog. We will be teaching you, today, how to fight together as a team. You are both the same as us, so we hope to impart our experience with you two. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If there are any problems, please tell us. We will do our best to keep you two out of trouble, but if you go looking for it on your own, we may not be able to help you. If that’s agreeable, then we can start,” he said to the students. Code by DinDeen. Original Art by Tistelmark. :DeviantArt: |

| The samurai woke up on the wrong side of her cave that day. Ever since she started uh, what’s the word, ‘dating’ Ryuu, the wolf-hair had moved her fluffy cave into the guild leader’s room. It was a bad idea. Kyuu had been used to being somewhat alone in her old room with only either one of her rabbits or Scoria’s forest sprite as a companion. Ryuu did not snore or anything, but just his mere presence made the girl toss and turn in her cave. It did not help that Hyzenthlay had insisted to be summoned ever since she found out that the assassin was dating her tamer, and so Kyuu was unable to sleep soundly with her little Hrairoo. Hyzen, after all, was like an overprotective mother who jumped at the slightest sound and waved her club at the shadows.
As the pair walked on, the samurai tried to keep a neutral expression so that her annoyance would not show. She had her usual yoroi armor and vanity uniform, and wore her nagamaki at her side. Supposedly they were to teach some adventurers about something or another, but Kyuu forgot about the rest of the details. Her enemic buster Hyzenthlay ran ahead just in time to miss Ryuu’s romantic gestures. That saved him from a club to the face, but not from Kyuu’s scowl. She did not like being told such things as the whole dating thing was new to her, and being tickled was one of those Things-Which-Must-Not-Be-Done. Her scowl momentarily turned to a blush, and then the girl looked up at the assassin who expected some romantic things probably, but the samurai’s hand balled up to a fist and she shot it right at Ryuu’s torso without holding back. Their levels were a bit close to each other so he probably would not get a broken rib from that, but still it should hurt and send her unspoken message across. That no, she was not going to said Aishiteruyo or anything of its variants, and much less kiss him right then and there.
Moving on, as the pair finally met up with the lower-leveled adventurers, Kyuu just stood there beside Ryuu with her arms crossed and her face equally as cross. The blush was gone and only a scowl remained, and at her feet, Hyzenthlay waved her club around. If Ryuu stepped within the rabbit’s range, she would swing her blunt force trauma weapon at his ankles. The other adventurers would receive at least a polite nod from Kyuu, and her scowl would disappear once they actually introduced themselves. Still, her arms would remain crossed until such a time that she had to wield her weapon.

Finally, the message she was waiting for. Being a newcomer to anything was hard but it was much more difficult to be new to a world such as Elder Tale. The first thing any sane person would do? Why that would be get tips from the people who had managed to level up past the beginner zone or played before all of this happened. While she was smart enough to figure most of the world out on her own, Falfura would much rather speed up the process and spend less time guessing about some of the worlds systems. Today was going to be a great day for her, especially since yesterday she managed to get herself into a quest with a couple other low level adventurers and got some more experience with the combat for this world. 'Hopefully I don't come across as a total noob.' she thought to herself as she slid her Nodachi into the sheath on her back and continued to secure her chain mail on her torso. The samurai styled armor was a deep red in color, a crimson red like blood as it was her favorite shade of the color.
Leaving her room at a rather run down Inn, Falfura made her way towards the meeting spot. As she did so she pondered the possibilities that joining a guild in this new world could offer to her. It was definitely a faster way to level up but much more than that it was a social hub. Here in a world where her family could never reach her she needed to find some sense of normalcy and this was probably the closest thing she would find to friends in this world without spending months here first. As she pondered that the newbie adventurer would chew on what this world called food, which most of it simply tasted like soggy salted crackers. Were they truly stuck eating such sub-par food in this world for every meal of the day? What she wouldn't give to have herself some Terriyaki Ramen with egg. So absorbed in thoughts of food from the real world, she would never notice that she had arrived at the target location. There she saw two people who seemed to be waiting for someone who she could only have imagined was her. Was she late to the meeting? She surely hoped not, what a bad impression that would be.
"Am I late?" she asked as she approached the two. Though quickly she blushed and shook her head once she realized she probably should have started with an introduction. "I'm Falfura. Thank you for taking time out of your day for a newbie like myself." she said with a bow. The two highest level players in the area taking time to teach a new adventurer like her? That never truly happened in any game let alone real life, could anyone truly be so kind and want nothing in return for it? She thought about that for a moment as she listened to what they had to say about working together as a team. They spoke of another adventurer though she had not noticed him on the way here. 'So I will be working with another newbie.' she thought to herself as she looked around for him. Word Count: 550 Note: Falfura is male in game, female IRL. So I refer to him as "she".

Makuso had his hands wrapped behind his neck in a very relaxed pose. It hadn't been very long since he first logged into the Novasphere Pioneers update. In the time he had spent living here in Londonium, all Makuso had done was wander around and try to find food that didn't taste like stale bread or soggy crackers. He had received a message saying that a pair of high-level adventurers would be teaching him the ropes. He wasn't new to the game itself, just the new "game mechanics". Makuso began to wonder why two people of a much higher level would go through all the trouble for. 'I'm nothing special. I've never even met these two before. I wonder what they'll be like?' Makuso began picturing scenarios of two large men giving him intense military training or two inhumanly gentle scribes teaching him calligraphy. He cringed at the thought of either one.
He had a piece of stale-ish bread in his mouth, since that was the only thing in this new world that tasted like its real world counterpart. 'Man... I need to get some better food sometime... This crap'll get old real quick.' In any other place or time, the food he had with him would be fine, since it was a game and he couldn't taste any of it. Now that he was quite literally a part of his world, he had no idea what to do with himself.
Makuso's first thought was of Farsia. The only reason he had accepted the training invitation was so that he could get stronger so that he could find her. 'I wonder if the food where she is tastes better than the food here...' Makuso began to have fun flashbacks of the time they spent together but quickly dismissed them. He vigorously shook his head. 'I need to focus. I'm gonna train even harder than I did back home! When all of that's said and done, then I can reminisce.'
Makuso painfully swallowed the last chunk of stale bread in his mouth and walked on. 'Where was the meeting spot again?' He opened up his message window to read where the meeting spot was. He also noticed a small clock in the top right corner next to his mini-map of the town. Makuso noted the time and went back to the message. As he skimmed through it, Makuso failed to notice that with the location, there was also a set meeting time. A few minutes later, he went through the message again, more carefully this time. When Makuso saw that the meeting time had a set place, his eyes opened wide. He looked at his clock. His jaw dropped in disbelief. He began to sprint. "HOW DID I MISS THAT?! I'M GONNA BE LATE!" In a mad dash against time, Makuso began to take shortcuts. He tanked his lucky starts that he had picked Assassin as his combat class. He ran into broken buildings and jumped from one very close one to another. As he made his was through the last short building, he tripped and fell through a window. He landed in front of a female who's status told him that she was a Samurai. Standing next to her was an Assassin like him saying something about trouble. Next to him, was another Samurai, most likely the other student mentioned in the message. He slowly got up, brushed himself off, and ruffled his own hair. Makuso said with slight embarrassment, "Did I make it in time?"

| Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0813 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | After his tickling was done, he was expecting a kiss from her, but instead of getting the romantic gesture, he got a punch in the rib. It didn’t crack anything or break anything, but wow, that was painful. “Itai!” he cried out. He began rubbing his side where she had punched him and he glared at her, but he couldn’t keep it up for too long. “Was that really necessary?” he asked. I mean, he knew that it was taboo, but he didn’t expect to be assaulted like that. He was rather hurt, but well, innocence prevailed here. He was happy that she moved her cave into his room, but… well… Hyzen was a problem, and he definitely did not like her being summoned. He sighed as he couldn’t get any closer to his now girlfriend, and instead he had to be at least 3 feet away from her. The assassin sighed. It would’ve been easy to dispose of the Enemic Buster, but he knew he’d only be hated by his girlfriend should he do that. He decided to step away so that he wouldn’t be too annoyed by the Hyzen… I mean, he didn’t even get to cuddle with Kyuu last night!
Anyways, their first student had arrived. From the looks of it, he was male and had pink hair? That was… not usual. Well, to each their own. He wasn’t one to judge. He also sounded somewhat feminine, but his voice was definitely male. I mean, it wasn’t as deep as he expected, but hey, again, to each their own. He was quite tall, as Ryuu was 5’9 in the game and in real life, and so this man was slightly taller than him. “No, no, you’re not late… I tend to be early, and because of that, so is she,” he said to the other samurai. The Level 1 marker made him note that this definitely was a beginner. After he said that, it was as if on cue that another man fell from the sky and fell flat on his face. No, no fall damage, cuz Elder Tales.
Ryuu looked down at the man who had fallen on his face and offered his hand to help him up. “Umm, are you okay?” he asked him. It wasn’t often that he saw someone fly out of a building and go splat in front of him. It was a good thing that fall damage didn’t kill you in the game, or else this man wouldn’t be as lucky as he was now. “Anyways, it looks like everyone is here. Welcome, welcome… My name is Kumori, this is Caerbannog, and we’ll be teaching you today. Please take care of us…” he bowed.
After doing so, he stood straight and then waved both his arms around, opening them up to ‘present’ the area behind him. “Welcome to the Savill Flower Garden. Because of a certain someone, we won’t be able to kill slimes or rabbits… so our enemy of choice today is Young Pittered Boars. What I want you two to do is work as a team. Caerbannog and I will be using the teacher system so that we will not be aggravating the mobs. We will first show you what it means to be a tank and dps combo… A tank, as it implies, is supposed to sustain the damage and keep mob focus on him or herself. The dps role is to do as much damage as possible as quickly as possible in order to kill the mob attacking the tank to alleviate them. If you have any questions, please say them now, if not, then let’s begin… we’ll be starting with a single boar. This way, it can test the efficiency of the tank and the dps and to see if you are ready to do more than one boar. Don’t worry, if things go awry, Caerbannog and I will make sure you won’t go below 50% in HP,” he said to the two.
With that he brought down his level to level 1 and then nodded towards his samurai counterpart and waited for her to do the same. In front of them was a single boar and then he waited for Caer to begin her assault, and he would follow soon after she ran ahead. They didn’t need to communicate. They’d fought together for so long, it had become natural for them to do things without speaking. It was only through experience that this was borne, and through that experience, a sense of trust that they knew their roles. He would have to explain to the students later that their lack of communication was because they were experienced, but by this point, it would be too late to mention it. Ryuu figured he’d let them experiment for themselves and then give pointers after their first battle with the boars.

| Each and every person in the world, even in the world of Elder Tale, had things that they liked and disliked. Caerbannog liked sweets, liquor and sleeping in. The Beast disliked being kept awake or woken up at ungodly hours. One would have thought that Ryuu already learned his lesson from the unfortunate things that happened during their Windsor dungeon run, but the young man was either dense, stupid or just plain mean. The wolf-hair samurai squinted at the Aeryn guild leader when he complained about her hit.
“Baka-nii!” she exclaimed even in front of the newcomers.
Yeah so that was a thing. Caerbannog had decided to keep calling Kumori as ‘oniichan’ or ‘Ryuu-oniichan’. It would make for some pretty awfulsome and awkward situations but the samurai didn’t care. She was sleep-deprived so the usual Caer Bear was not so Care Bear-ish. But at least she was still herself enough to be able to assist the lower-leveled samurai, the pink-haired Falfura and the faceplanter Makuso. To her fellow samurai, the wolf-hair had nodded when he looked at her and Kumori had introduced her to him and the other dude. To the faceplanter who landed right in front of her, she nodded slowly, curious of his dramatic entrance which did not fit his rather serious avatar.
Ryuu did not waste any more time once the two adventurers had arrived. He began to explain some things regarding tanks and DPS and whoa, he talked a lot as always. Not that it was a bad thing. Caerbannog was not a talker so there would have been an awkward silence between her and the other adventurers. Assassin-nii then started up the lesson and so both of them synched down, too bad he forgot about Hyzenthlay who could probably run over most of the mobs in that area. Before the samurai engaged their target, she picked up Hyzen and placed the rabbit on her head. It was her other rabbit Hrairoo’s usual perch and Hyzenthlay at least understood that if she was placed up there, then the samurai had something to take care of on her own. The enemic buster held onto Caer’s hair securely, careful not to pull the girl’s wolf ears which had just perked up at the prospect of a fight.
The wolf-hair’s eyes turned a bright golden yellow and her wolf tail pointed to the ground once she stepped between Kumori and their target, an unfortunate boar. Even at Level 1, she at least had access to her taunt skill since only Tier II or higher moves were greyed out. The girl’s usual taunt animation was a rather gangster-esque thumbs up then thumbs down move, but not today. Caerbannog was in a bad mood and so she activated [Samurai’s Challenge] by flipping her middle finger at the young pittered boar. obscene, rude, whatever. At least she had the mob’s attention now and Ryuu could do whatever with it. Upon her head, Hyzen, who understood what the gesture meant, squeaked and laughed at the sight further infuriating the boar. Caerbannog stood her ground with her right foot forward, her left hand on the saya of her nagamaki and her right hand, which finished flipping off the boar, calmly resting on her sword’s hilt ready to draw if the mob got too close.

Oh?
It seemed that two of the highest level players were actually quite nice people, a surprising change from most games. Normally whenever someone in a game or who played a game was good at something they were jerks. It was a relief to her that they would be in good hands. Bowing to the two of them as they introduced themselves, Falfura smiled slightly as nodded his head. "Kumori, Caerbannog. Thank you for taking time out of your day to teach us. It means a lot." she said as she once more offered a slight bow in their direction. She was humble when it came to things she did not fully understand rather than arrogant about her own intelligence. She was sure however that she would pick up everything from this lesson rather quickly and be able to apply it in a real fight shortly after she saw their tactics. The only problem was that she did not have any skills that taunted an enemy, this would be a problem for the other adventurer she was here with today considering that assassins had a rather high damage output compared to her.
"Before we begin I would like to point out my shortcomings here." she said without flinching at the word. "I lack the ability to taunt mobs just yet. A foolish decision on my part as a tanking class." she finished with a sigh. It was troublesome to say the least how often she found herself grouped up now. Originally she was building for solo play but in this new world it seemed more beneficial to play with a group of people rather than alone. It was a bit embarrassing to explain to groups that she was a tank who could not even perform the basic taunting their role was asked to do in a group. Still she tried her hardest to hold aggro with Gonosen and her auto attacks in the last group she was a part of and it seemed to work out well enough. "I started with Ace Move: Gonosen. It is a high damage parry skill that I chose when I was planning to play by myself." she said. Perhaps she should have taken the skill "Samurai's Challenge" after all. After the exchange the two of them brought their levels down to match the trainees, something she did not know was possible and found rather interesting.
"When you mentor down to level one, do you retain all of your abilities?" she asked, wanting to know as much as possible. Some day she would offer her assistance the way that they did and felt this was valuable information to have when doing so. Still she could not help but feel like she was going to be a bother with her fifty thousand questions and all of the things she lacked when it came to group play. It was a challenge trying to get her mind into the state it needed to be in to allow her to rely on teammates and not try to control them as if they were her own minions. That would be her biggest obstacle today; trying to break down the micro managing part of her brain that told everyone else what they should be doing without first asking for their input.
Once they were ready it seemed that their target would be a simple boar. Falfura cringed at the arrival simply because she had just done a quest where she was overwhelmed by a den of them with some other low level players. The experience left her wishing she would never see the creatures ever again. Still she drew her weapon like everyone else and waited to see what was going to happen. It was very subtle but very rude, the middle finger salute Caer gave to taunt the boar into attacking them with her taunt skill. Smirking to herself, Falfura chuckled as she drew her weapon and charged the boar who's aggro was now fixed on the other samurai. She wondered to herself why they were not communicating between one another, had they previously discussed their tactics? Pre-planning was the key to success after all - though it was odd how the female samurai said nothing the entire time. Falfura was hasty when it came to fighting and chose to take the fight to the enemy rather than wait for it to come to her. So the moment she got close, the samurai would bring her sword down on the boar and attempt to take a chunk out of it's HP bar.

Makuso had made a fool of himself in front of his new partner (?) and mentors. There was no hiding the fact that he definitely hadn't left a good impression on them. Makuso surprised himself however, in the fact that he was able to jump between buildings. 'Could I do that before? Well, that aside... What's the guy saying?' Makuso had never been one to pay attention to lectures. He was more of a "go-with-the-flow" kind of guy. All the while Makuso was attempting to pay attention to the Assassin, he couldn't pull his eyes away from Falfura's hair. He was almost hypnotized and lost in thought. 'Did he really make the conscious decision to make his hair pink? It actually almost looks more like a salmon color... WHAT AM I SAYING? I shouldn't judge. My hair's white for goodness sake!' Makuso managed to take his eyes off of Falfura's hair and return to his mentors.
He was also surprised at how nice they seemed. As most MMO's go, the higher ranked players are made out to be the biggest jerks the virtual world could find. 'These guys seem alright.' Makuso had heard rumors that two of the highest level players were taking up apprentices, as the mentor program was becoming a prevalent system. There wasn't anything against it to Makuso, but he found it strange that more people aren't taking more time to protect themselves and survive rather than helping the newbies like him. Makuso then realized his greatest problem.
"Hey guys! Uh since I've never actually fought anything before, how does the battle system work? I mean, since this is my body now." He gestured to himself as he realized that this mentor session was for things like that exactly. Makuso then quieted down and began to listen again. 'Made a fool of by myself again... This should be one hell of a ride...'
Caerbannog and Kumori had basically stated that they would begin without actually saying so. A boar approached them; nothing Kumori and Caerbannog couldn't handle. He was for sure of that. Makuso expected a taunt from Caerbannog, but he didn't expect that she would "flip the bird". Makuso tried his hardest to hold in his laughter while he watched the experts take the field.
