Suggested Mount System
I'm proposing a more detailed mount system so that crafters will have other recipes to work on, and the gold that we accumulate will have more meaning.
Mount: A mount is a living creature, usually a horse, that can be used as a means of transportation. By default:
- Mounts will refuse to do any kind of labor or battle. They will dismount the user if they sense danger or are hit.
- Mounts can only be used on land and very shallow bodies of water. Otherwise, they will dismount the user and run away.
- Mounts are not affected by animal training skills and respond erratically to Tongue of Nature based on the mount's age.
- Runaway mounts cannot be summoned for the rest of the thread.
Types of Mounts by Age:
- Very young mount: Cute and cuddly, it responds stupidly to Tongue of Nature and is barely fit to be a mount. It is weak and slow compared to young mounts, but their cuteness usually makes up for their lack of usefulness.
- Young mount: It responds sparingly to Tongue of Nature and has average strength and speed for a mount.
- Adult mount: It typically does not respond to Tongue of Nature and can be rather obnoxious, tending to take shortcuts for its own convenience. It has slightly better strength and speed than young mounts.
Whistle: The key item to summoning your mount. Currently known types are:
- Leaf Whistle: It is given to Adventurers who have unlocked their Tier II main class skills. It has a nice, soothing sound. Summons a young shire horse.
- Metal Whistle: It is crafted by experienced blacksmiths or reforged from Windsor Metal Whistle. It has a shrill, annoying sound. Summons very young mounts.
- Wood Whistle: It is crafted by experienced woodcrafters or reforged from Windsor Wood Whistle. It has a tolerable sound. Summons other young mounts aside from the shire horse.
- Stone Whistle: It is crafted by experienced artisans or reforged from Windsor Stone Whistle. It has a low, hollow sound. Summons adult mounts.
- Composite Whistle: It is a reward from dungeons or events. The sound varies based on the materials used. Summons special mounts that may act differently from other mounts.
Whistles in the Shop:
- Windsor Metal Whistle: Price is ??? gold. It has a shrill, annoying sound. Summons a very young Shetland pony. It can be used as material for making a crafted metal whistle instead of paying the material fee.
- Windsor Wood Whistle: Price is ??? gold. It has a tolerable sound. Summons a young shire horse. It's pretty useless if you already have the Leaf Whistle, but it can be used as material for making a crafted wood whistle instead of paying the material fee.
- Windsor Stone Whistle: Price is ??? gold. It has a low, hollow sound. Summons an adult shire horse. It can be used as material for making a crafted stone whistle instead of paying the material fee.
Suggestions and criticism are very welcome. Please try to be concise and constructive.
Personal land mounts are now available. These are summoned via a special whistle made by experienced woodcrafters. They will only last a short while and have a very very long cooldown. Horses summoned by this way have very little HP and will dismount their rider and run at the first sign of danger. Higher level woodcrafters can increase the active summon time and reduce cooldown. Cavalier personal mounts are unchanged. (As in Cavaliers have permanent mounts and with their leveled skills can use their mount in battle)
