Do you believe in ghosts? In his quest to gather a laundry list of research materials, Saber was finding that he was going to various places that he didn’t exactly think he would ever show up at. One of those places was the underground zones beneath Londonium, another was here; at the beach. The one place Saber had never been to in the real world was a place he was beginning to visit more and more with every passing day, but it wasn’t because of him wanting to go to it. No, the beach was simply a central area for his distant travels when it came to the area of Thames. It wasn’t much of a beach either, as the United Kingdom was mainly formed out of hard rocks and stones. Though, the little bit of sand that was available was quite a pretty sight. It not only attracted People of the Land and Monsters, but also various animals. Many of those animals Saber hunted, some of them were in a place where he could not reach; the sea.
Yes, that wide open blue plain which drew the curious to its secret, dark depths, that same massive body of water which was home to many undiscovered creatures. That ocean was just a hundred meters from where Saber stood, beckoning him forward. Its waves crashed against the beach’s sand with a gentle thrash as they rolled forward onto land, teasing the planet with a potential flood before those very same waves were pulled back into the main body of water, receding rapidly out of sight only to be taken over by another assault. Saber narrowed his eyes a little and opened up his menu. Rather than let himself be lulled by the air, he decided it was time to get on with it; his life. That being said, Saber made himself more comfortable in his environment; he removed his top two layers of clothes and his scarf, replacing it with a ragged level-one face mask which he had recovered. It wasn’t as comfortable as his scarf because of the itchy feeling it gave him, but it was better than letting himself be bare. Saber also placed his large swords into his inventory, leaving himself armed with only his twin daggers.
Every time Saber did this small operation, he felt naked. He felt as if the entire world was staring down at his body, and it was so weird. He honestly wasn’t bothered by being shirtless, but this world just gave him a strange feeling. It was like he was defenseless without his body being covered. It may be because of the fact that, unlike in the real world, practically everything was out to get him. Hundreds of monsters combed the world, lunging out at him whenever they got the chance. His cloth armor was pitiful when it came to defense and he was left open to nearly everything because of it. That was why he wore layers. However, the beach was the worst place for it. The heat from the sun blazing down on him made wearing all of those clothes a disastrous decision. Yet, he didn’t have anything underneath that was really any more protective. Thus, whenever he came here, he was left with almost zero defensive capabilities when it came to armor. Yet, his level protected him from many of the monsters which occasionally appeared, but fellow players who were far too… curious… could be a potential issue. Even as a level ninety Assassin, without armor Saber would have issues with a brave, and smart, level fifty player. Thankfully, very few Adventurers had the guts to come at him. He may have been weak defense wise, but the two blades latched onto his lower back were more than enough to bring down any person who wasn’t careful.
But, today was a little different than other days. It was a bit earlier in the afternoon and the beach was vacant except for a few tiny and clueless creatures. They immediately noticed Saber’s presence and kept away from him, some of them turning and running as the Assassin closed his menu and looked up. All except for one; a Seagul. It was a level seven creature, and it didn’t even care that Saber was standing where he was. The bird fluttered down, landed on the ground, and began to peck at the dirt as it collected some nourishment. The Assassin watched the bird for a few moments, eyeing it as the white and grey creature bravely invaded the personal space of the much higher level being. It hopped, pecked, hopped, pecked, and then hopped once more until it was directly in front of Saber. It twisted around in place, putting its back to the player. Then it pecked at the ground few more times before, finally, it snatched up a long earth worm. It wiggled its feathers in happiness and gobbled up the mini-snack before taking back to the skies. Saber huffed lightly as the bird flew off, returning to a small pack of four other birds in the distance.
With his space returned to him, Saber made his way out onto the beach and headed straight for the water. Seagulls would have been interesting to fight, but the Adventurer was here for something else. There was a creature much smaller, and much more useful, that Saber needed to capture. He was no fisherman, but he was quick, and he was determined. His foe today would be tough, and it would be a serious pain in his backside because of how slick and nimble it would be. However, he needed to catch it. He needed the creature not because of what it was, but because of what it could do. What he needed was an electric eel. And he had heard that some of them lived in a small reef just off the edge of Grain. There were much larger eels that would give him a run for his money, but these would be easier, and he wouldn’t have to put as much effort into capturing them. However, Saber did have one problem…
He didn’t know exactly where the reef was.

Things had really changed for the petite fox tail girl. Before, she had been afraid to even leave Londinium and now, she was adventuring across the known lands, seeing sights she never knew existed. She still had a long way to go but progress was progress and today was a reward to herself for it. In exchange for some of the money she had gathered during her excursions, Artemisia had obtained exactly what she needed to take in a beautiful, relaxing day on the coast. She had made all of the necessary preparations beforehand, including packing herself a small picnic lunch for later. It was a day for her and that was what she wanted. But sometimes you just don't get what you want. Or… more appropriate, sometimes you don't even realize there was something better than what you had planned. Artemisia was lying, sprawled out face up on a large beach towel, soaking in the warmth of the sun in the middle of the sand. Not too far from her feet, the waves would occasionally crash onto the beach, filling her ears with the comforting and repetitive motion of the sea. She wiggled her toes, digging them down into the cool sand at the bottom of her towel, and sighed contently. This was exactly what she wanted. Today, everything related to fighting, learning, or adventuring had been tossed aside. She closed her green eyes, letting her head rest back, her body in a complete state of relaxation. Her regular attire and her staff had long since been deposited into her inventory, switched out for the more appropriate swimming suit she had acquired. It had been a lucky purchase as it even had come in her one of her favorite colors – a beautifully bright shade of blue. The top and bottom were separate, leaving her stomach exposed to the rays of the sun. The top half was ruffled over her chest and tied with a small bow at the bottom. The bottoms hugged her hips tightly, covering only what was necessary. All in all, she was glad the beach was mostly deserted. It wasn't the most attractive beach but it served its purpose well enough for her to enjoy her day off. Satisfied that her top half had received enough sun, Artemisia lifted herself off the beach towel half way. As she turned her body, preparing to lie on her stomach for a while and expose her backside to the warmth, she saw something she had not expected. Or rather, someone. The small pair of sunglasses she was wearing slid half way down her face, her mind slightly blank for a moment. There, standing at the edge of the water not far from her was a man she had met once or twice before, or well, who knew how many times it had been – it was too much trouble to keep track anyways. It was Saber, the leader of her guild. Except, his attire was quite a bit different than normal. Or rather, quite a bit less… Wow, now that’s something you don't see every day…She couldn't help but look, even if the act of it was likely to get in trouble for multiple reasons. Artemisia grinned and rolled the rest of the way over onto her stomach. Somehow, he hadn't noticed her lying here (because that would have been inconvenient). The sorceress rested her chin in the palm of her hand, propping her head up, and kept her eyes locked on the figure of the assassin a short distance away. Her two feet swished through the air above her as she kicked them back and forth, a completely amused expression on her usually sweet face. I wonder what he’s doing here, though… Her blonde fox tail swished back and forth across her bare back, projecting her internal curiosity. Satisfied she had ogled his shirtless self long enough, she whistled in his direction to get his attention. Assuming he would look towards the source of the sound, Artemisia smiled brightly at him and waved with the hand her chin was not on. “ Hello there, Saber,” One of her pointed ears twitched atop her head as she regarded him but she made no move to stand or go over to him. Instead, she beckoned him over towards her, calling to him with the same hand she had waved with. It was a fifty-fifty shot that he would even come over to her. She assumed he wasn't here to enjoy the sea breeze, like she was, so there had to be something that had brought the high leveled player to the coast. The day of lying in the sun and dipping her toes in the cool water was now a second thought to her interest in what Saber was up to today. -- Notes: Here's the reference picture for Artemisia's current... attire. "KNOW THAT I'M ALREADY HOME" In many ways, the Unfounded Kingdom was quite similar to the United Kingdom... At least, when it came to Londinium. Despite the overgrowth that wrapped its way around many buildings, and the lack of traffic and tourists (especially around the Piccadilly Circus area back in the real world. ) the general location of all important monuments stayed the same, and the people (landers included) all maintained a general "British Vibe" to them, albeit a little bit more withdrawn. That being said, there were also some noticeable differences, differences that Charuen welcomed. For example, the weather. The United Kingdom was known its gloomy climate, with "overcast" being the default weather condition. On the other hand, the Unfounded Kingdom had more sunny days than the pinkette had ever witnessed in the real world. (Last sentence not meant to be taken literally.)
The cleric was not one to take the cloudless days for granted. Due to how often the sun came out graced Londinium with its warmth and light, she often spent her days outside, either training in the woods or exploring the city. Today however, was a little different. It was another sunny day, but instead of practicing her combat skills, or walking through the streets of the starting city, Charuen opted for a walk along the beach. Her last walk along the Thames River had ended rather abruptly when she had thought an adventurer had been greatly injured by a monster, but it had turned out that he had only been napping. The pinkette was determined to finish her walk this time around.
A smile of content graced the healer's features as she walked along the water. She wore no shoes, thus allowing the sands to press through the gaps of her toes and tickle her. From time to time, as the waves kissed the shore, droplets of water would reach her feet. It felt cool yet pleasant, and most definitely welcomed by Charuen on this particularly warm day. She was also glad that she had worn a dress instead of her new armor; as much as she loved the new set of plate armor that Caerbannog had crafted for her, she surely would have died from the heat before any monster could get to her. Thus, she decided to take the risk and wear something that offered no protection. After all, it would be fine as long as she did not draw aggro... Right? Char halted slightly at that thought, and then made a quick note to herself to put in an order for some vanity clothing from her guild master.
As the pink haired adventurer continued walking, she spotted a familiar looking foxtail lying on the beach, her feet up and dangling in a way that could only be taken flirtatiously. Char wondered to whom her attention could be directed to... Was Hiro around? She did not spot him anywhere... After seeing the way the two interacted recently, both at the ball and at the party that Apocrypha had hosted, Char had come to associate the two adventurers romantically.
"Artemisia!" Charuen called out in an attempt to catch the sorcerer's attention. Taking long and graceful strides, she ran across the beach to where the foxtail laid. However, just as she was about to reach her friend, a loud roar behind her reached her ears. It seemed that in all her excitement from seeing a friendly face, the half-alv had forgotten about the monsters that roamed the area, and had caught the attention of a particularly nasty one. Turning around, Charuen found herself coming face to face with a crab that was twice her size. Upon looking at its stats, the pinkette realized that it was ten levels above her own. A look of shock, mixed in with fear, flashed across her face. She had her weapon, but she did not have her armor...Char glanced over at Artemisia, wondering if the two of them would be able to take down the monster together. Was she wearing vanity clothing? Or was her cute swimsuit only for looks? Either way, the two of them were going to be in a whole lot of trouble...

[attr="class","quest"] -|-Quest-|- Saber needs electric eels. For what is a complete mystery. Travel out to a nearby reef and help him snatch up a few of the slippery beasts! Careful though, they bite.Party: - Saber - 86 - Assassin -@sugarygiggles - 13 - Sorceress - Charuen - 10 - Cleric Do you believe in ghosts? “Check your map…” Saber scratched his head and made a slightly disturbed face as he stared out towards the body of water beyond the sandy beachhead. He crossed his arms over his chest and stared out, eyeing the horizon as he considered a few options he could take. The reefs weren’t far off from the coastline and the fishermen he had spoken too were elders; they didn’t seem like the type to lie to him even after he supplied them with some items they needed from the surrounding area. Saber called it a trade, they called it payment but it didn’t matter. The information Saber received he believed to be true. If it wasn’t, then those old men would have some very tasty drinks with him when he returned…
A light sigh escaped the man’s mouth and he gave up on guessing. The Assassin pulled open his display and then his map, his finger tapping along the edge of it as he read over the thin details which were there. Like he expected, because he had not gone into the water Saber didn’t have really anything to work with when it came to his map. Nothing but the outline of the beach and the mainland were available to him, along with a few rocky outcroppings which stuck up from the shallow waters. It wasn’t much, and it was pretty useless. However, it did give him a small idea of what to expect. If there were reefs, he wouldn’t have to go too far off. The general location of the reef known as Aulora’s Den was approximately fifty meters off the small peninsula to his left, and ten meters off to its right. It was a general location, so Saber wouldn’t doubt if going to those “coordinates” caused him to whiff. Saber wasn’t a fisherman and the elders he had spoken to did not use maps to find the reefs. No, they floated right out to them.
“Going to have to wing it.” The Assassin closed his menu and lowered his hands to his waist. As he looked up, he heard someone call out to him; a familiar voice to say the least. He looked over to his left and noticed something he had missed before, and it made him pause. Down on the beach a short ways off was the player Artemisia, and she seemed to be enjoying the sun much more than he was. She lay in a bikini outfit and had a pair of sunglasses on to protect her eyes from the blaring ball of raging fire and death in the sky. She was also waving at him, which meant she probably wanted his attention. The man huffed and closed his eyes for a moment. Well, so much for being alone.
And one more!
Saber was about to take another step and actually walk onto the beach, but then he heard another female shout. This time, it was directed towards Artemisia. Saber’s eyes twisted and he sighted the next body in the zone; another woman, and this time she was an unknown. Long, flowing blonde and pink hair, and a dress to complement it. Saber grimaced at the sight and froze up. Women, the greatest threat to his humanity seemed to be everywhere in this damned game. He enjoyed his quiet time and didn’t mind meeting new people every now and then, but why was it always a woman? He was a shallow fellow and he knew he had issues speaking with them in a friendly manner, so Saber tried to avoid interacting with the opposite gender as much as possible. But as much as he tried to avoid them, the game tried everything it could to pin him beside them. It was like a curse; opposite day was every day. Lovely, great, fantastic, another neeping chest to avoid staring at… but at least this one brought company…
Behind the pinkette, a massive crab decided to rise out of the beach and expose itself to the three players in a small rage. The woman was extremely close to it, and seemed to be quite ill-equipped to handle the new threat. What didn’t help was her lack of a level, and the same went for Artemisia. The crab was a fierce bastard from the looks of it and he seemed quite distressed that his sleep had been bothered, or whatever he was doing was disturbed, but that didn’t matter now did it? The crab was an oversized armored meat bucket with giant pincers that wanted to gobble up the pink-haired female, and whatever it probably wanted to nibble on. At the sight and the realization that he was probably going to have to handle it, Saber let out a groan and drew his two daggers, unwillingly giving in to the world’s shenanigans. Dammit he just wanted to catch eels! DAS EET.
With a hard kick, Saber shoved himself out onto the beach and darted straight across the hot sand, his feet tapping over it lightly as he zipped towards the crab. As he moved, he darted passed Artemisia, and then by the pinkette, careful not to slam into either of them as he engaged. His eyes remained fixed on the crab and with a hard kick, he vaulted into the air and shoulder charged the crab, smashing his upper right bicep and his shoulder into the armored creature’s face. It let out a shriek and staggered backwards as Saber pushed off and landed in the sand. Once he had a firm base beneath his feet, Saber charged forward again. This time he aimed for the heavy left claw, swiping at the arm’s joint with his two blades to disarm the massive creature. Three hard slices were all he needed to cut the massive limb off, and then the claw dropped to the beach with a heavy crash. As he hit the deck, he accelerated and sliced out the lower tips of two legs that the crab stood on, removing its stability point, causing it to topple over onto its right side.
“Looks like I’m having crab tonight…” Saber released a chuckle and hopped backwards, twirling his daggers around in his hands before jumping up onto the Crab’s back. It let out a high pitched shriek and its armor started to harden, but the Assassin aimed for the underbelly where said armor was thin. With the Crab on its side and swiping at the sand, trying to regain its upright form, Saber slipped down underneath the large creature and began to carve into the thin shell. With a few heavy smacks, the shell cracked and peeled away, allowing Saber to gut the massive beast with a volley of strikes, draining its health very rapidly to nothing. To finish the job, Saber hopped back and summoned forth his throwing daggers, their container appearing on his left thigh. He snagged one of them and an orange sigil appeared on its side.
“Sleep tight.” Saber muttered before throwing the blade into the Crab’s cut up stomach. The weapon dug a few inches into the exposed meat, and then ignited. In a loud and bright explosion, the crab’s insides imploded and the hard shell became its coffin as fire ripped into its underbelly. The struggling in the sand stopped, and the crab lay limp on the ground, its health bar fading and then ultimately its entire body turned into crystalized dust. The Assassin let out a heavy sigh and summoned his menu, casting his throwing knives back into the abyss. The one he had thrown had dropped to the sand after the crab vanished, and popped into light as it also poofed…
Silence, except for the sea once more, and it was beautiful. Saber closed his eyes and rolled his head back, cracking it slightly as he relaxed and let himself bake in the sun for a few moments. Water washed up at his feet and soaked them with its salted touch, sending tingles up the man’s spine. He let out a rumble and lowered his head down, opening his eyes to look at the two women. Well, the crab was dead and now he was out in the open. Running away or ignoring them would probably make him seem like an asshole, or more of one that he probably already looked like.
“Never leave yourself unguarded.” The Assassin said as he walked away from the water and towards Artemisia. He glanced at the pink haired woman and grinned beneath his mask as he walked by her.
“There are many worse things than crabs in this world…” His covered smile faded as he spoke seriously, and the man patted the woman softly on the shoulder before making his way over to his guild member, Artemisia.
“You seem to be enjoying yourself…” He huffed as he looked down at the short woman, his eyes scanning her body for a moment as he noticed how comfortable she seemed to be in the middle of the open. It must have been nice, having that ability. Saber could have been surrounded by maxed level Guardians with high class armor and he still would never be able to be so carefree… Then again, he wasn’t exactly trained to let his guard down.

So, somehow her pleasant day on the beach had gone from a relaxing day off to being attacked by a rather angry crab monster. What? How was that even possible? She had chosen this area specifically because she had been told the monster activity was low, especially at this time of day. The blonde had barely even enough time to mentally process that a third person had joined the scene before the monster had appeared. The newest addition was Charuen, a cleric she had met briefly before. It was the worst moment for a monster to attack… she was completely equipmentless. Everything was in her inventory. Her mind immediately switched over, completely dumping out her previous light hearted thoughts and actions. She needed to do something, anything, to help Charuen. Artemisia lifted herself half of the sand in a rush, calling her display up as she did. She barely had enough time to pull herself to her knees before a wind rushed by her, kicking up a bit of sand into the air. She whipped her head around, following the fast figure. She sighed and relaxed slightly as she realized who it was that had dived in. It was Saber and he was making quick work of the crab monster. She was relieved he had decided to step in but also irritated, she hadn’t even had a chance to do anything. There was nothing she could do at this point except wait – Saber had things plenty under control, he didn’t even need any support spells from the two girls. As the fight quickly came to an end, Artemisia stood and turned her attention back to her display. Just as she was lifting her hand to shuffle through her inventory, a familiar voice reprimanded her and Charuen. The blonde sorcerer puffed out her cheeks in irritation, a distinct pout crossing her young features. She could have handled that crab monster… maybe, probably. Well, maybe not but there was no saying now, was there? Saber walked the rest of the way over to her and clearly gave her a once over. In this body, she didn’t have much to show off so his attention didn't linger on her for long. " I could say the same for you, Saber," Artemisia replied to his comment about her enjoying herself. Even if he huffed and puffed about it, slaying the monster was probably fun for the assassin. With the immediate danger handled, the blonde returned to sorting through her inventory, swapping out her attire for her regular wear. With one last motion, her staff appeared in her right hand. Dispelling the menu, she turned back to Charuen and Saber. " So, what brings the two of you out here today? By the looks of it, it doesn't seem like you gathered here for a relaxing day in the sun," Unlike she had, but that was irrelevant now. --- Notes: Not much to see here but there wasn't much to say yet... at least, I didn't think so XD Words: 481 Tags: Saber, Charuen
