"Armor worn by deadly women who shift nimbly between layers of darkness, etching streaks of gold into the night air, and planting visions of terror into the minds of their targets." This armor wished it had that description, but it doesn't—it's a replica. Ordered to be based on an armor set from a game known for its high difficulty, the armor's design remains faithful to the original, but has some alterations. The original's method of creation is uncertain, but this set was created by overlaying plates of black leather, trimmed with platinum blond edges, to create a tough but flexible armor set. Most of the details were kept the same: from the pointed finger tips to the exquisite patterns created from the trimmings; however, the owner requested a few artistic liberties when it came to the final design. First the tips of the boots were truncated into a simple sharp point while the original had a curved tip. Second the cloth used to decorate the armor around the shoulders and waist were colored black instead of blue. Finally, the head piece was completely replaced with a beaked hood, reminiscent of an assassin uniform from another game series. While at a glance, the armor looks first rate, the quality of its materials was average. By Lander standards, the armor is exceptional, but in the large scheme of things, it is only a level 30 set, well below the strength of end game armors. It is merely a replica after all; its high quality appearance can only be attributed to its crafter. Perhaps if some higher quality materials were used, it could have the description it so dearly wished. On the tag, there's a stylized F to denote the crafter. A Rune Blade Replica of an iconic sword from the prototype of an incredibly popular visual novel in Japan, specifically requested by an avid fan of the visual novel and related works and rescaled to work as a one-handed blade. Highly ornamental design, with a golden blade decorated by what seems to be blue enamel, the sword is surprisingly well balanced, completely disregarding its rather unpractical design. Whether it is a side effect of the runes etched into the guard or towards the tip of the blood, neither its crafter nor its wielder knows. While the original blade was powerful to the extent of rendering comparisons meaningless, as a replica this blade does not approach to even a fraction of what the original was capable of. However, it is still a strong and sturdy blade, capable of faithfully serving its owner through times of need. Luna [attr="class","infotitle"]Appearance [attr="class","infobox"] Mana is a young black haired beauty, three-fourths Japanese and one-fourth English. She is rather short, standing at only 153 centimeters and has an overall petite appearance. She often prefers dark or black clothes, mainly due to thematic reasons as an Assassin, however her preferred color of attire in the original world was white. Mana generally wears more practical attire as an Assassin, rather than the exquisite dresses and robes she equipped on her Summoner on the Japanese server, though they remain to be her favorite articles of clothing and she may wear some replicas on more relaxing days. While on the job, she prefers to stuff her hair into her armor and obscures most of her face with a hood, giving her a bit of a mysterious and ominous feeling. However Mana has an almost doll-like cuteness while wearing a dress, with her fair skin, long silky black hair, and magenta eyes. An air of nobility often surrounds her, but it quickly dissipates when she is flustered, enhancing her cuteness when embarrassed. She also has a bit of a fang on the left side of her mouth, but it is only visible when she opens her mouth wide. [attr="class","infotitle"]Personality [attr="class","infobox"] In the original world, Mana is a social recluse. She was born with defective vocal cords, resulting in her inability to speak. Part of her shyness and timidity comes from her childhood, when she was bullied for being a mute. This lead to a rather pronounced intolerance of oppression but made her more susceptible to oppression at the same time. Mana is an intellectual, having been described as nothing sort of a genius. She easily breezed through school, rarely ever working hard. Despite appearing as a noble and hardworking young woman, Mana is actually rather lazy and is a bit of a hikkimori, leaving the confines of her room for only the essential reasons like food and school. She really does waste her intelligence, having become a lazy person due to it making school too easy. At first glance it may appear that Mana is kind art heart, but in truth, she is a sadist. Mana only helps because she believes it is the correct social protocol and because it gives her a chance to enjoy the suffering and pain of others up close. However, should anyone become close to her, she would show them some “leniency.” Her online persona, especially when she played Elder Tale on the Japanese server, is almost the polar opposite of her real world self. While she is an anti-social recluse in reality, on the internet she is an outgoing and cheerful young girl, often being described as whimsical. However, she retains her sadistic streak and can have a rather sharp tongue, figuratively speaking. To her surprise, when the Catastrophe happened, Mana found her vocal cords to be fully functional, granting her the ability to speak. While she was ecstatic with this new development, her nonexistent experience with talking still leaves her as a woman of few spoken words. Her personality in the alternative world is also a bit different, containing a mix of her real world self and online persona. While still shy, Mana does show moments of whimsy and is able to actually use her sharp tongue where before she was confined to a keyboard. Generally, Mana remains calm and composed in stressful situations, though she is prone to embarrassments, and Mana is still a sadist who loves watching people suffer. [attr="class","infotitle"]History [attr="class","infobox"] Born into a wealthy family but with defective vocal cords, Mana lived in the lap of material luxury. While born in Japan, Mana spent most of her childhood in the UK, having a fourth of English blood from her father, and was enrolled to a private school. Sadly, her early childhood is marred by the teasing and bullying she received from her schoolmates, taunting her about her inability to speak. Her grades did not help either; when it became apparent that Mana was achieving leaps and bounds ahead of everyone, people began calling her the teacher’s pet and became even worse when she skipped two grades. Mana never really did recover from those experiences and became a bit of a social recluse because of it. Tragedy struck when Mana was at the age of thirteen: her father was killed in a fire. Her family was one of the few relationships Mana had in her life and while she suffered in school, her family was supportive of her. The loss of her father devastated her and for an entire week she refused to leave her room “until [her] father came home.” Eventually, she and her mother moved back to Japan, leaving behind the painful memories. Unfortunately, Japan’s Education system was based more on age, thus Mana was sent back the equivalent of two grades. While she didn’t have as many issues as she did in England, and her intelligence being something that her fellow classmates praised, Mana was simply emotionally scarred from her time in England. It was during this time that Mana began exploring the internet, playing games and meeting people online. With the main form of communication being typing, negating her inability to speak, plus the cloak of anonymity, Mana was more confident and outgoing on the internet, even making a few pen pals under the alias Elfriede. Shortly afterwards, she discovered a popular MMORPG called Elder Tale. The game was not released in the UK, but she overheard a number of boys talking about it, how they logged onto the Japanese servers to play. Curious, she purchased the game and its expansion packs and began playing, leveling up a Level Ninety Elf Summoner under the name Elfriede, even joining a small but well known guild. For a time, Mana was truly happy although her mother worried a bit about Mana’s increasingly pronounced hikkimori habits. However, all good things have to come to an end. Shortly before starting High School, Mana’s Guild disbanded on account of personal reasons: work, school, or in Mana’s case, studying abroad. A bit tired of the Japanese education system, Mana decided to go back to England, despite the memories, and see if she could again skip a couple grades at a private school. Her plan worked and she graduated in less than two years, testing out of numerous classes by working hard for once in her life. Afterwards, she continued her education in England, having enrolled into Oxford under their Undergraduate Master of Computer Science program. As she adjusted to being a rather young student at one of the most prestigious Universities in the world, Mana continued her hikkimori habits to a certain extent, only leaving her room for classes and the necessity, though her outgoing nature on the internet evolved with her becoming a bit of a net idol. At times she would try to log onto the Japanese servers for Elder Tale but the lag was a bit too annoying for Mana to really play again. She would just log in time to time to chat with some friends who were still logged on. However, when news of an English server was announced, Mana jumped on the hype train immediately. Setting up her account to be able to connect to the newly established server upon its launch. She was a bit disheartened about not being able to transfer her summoner, but she agreed that it was for the best as a level Ninety character could easily upset the balance on a new server. Having made an assassin, though accidentally picking human instead of Elf, Mana hit the login button. Upon logging in, instead of being welcomed with the usual newbie information, Mana found herself inside the world of Elder Tale. Confused, Mana—now Elfriede—discovered that her vocal cords in this world was fully functional. While she had impeccable knowledge and experience on the Japanese server, the addition of the Novasphere Pioneers expansion with the fact that the UK server used Britain instead of Japan as its Half-Gaia model made it an unfamiliar world to Mana. Compounding in how she selected Assassin instead of Summoner as her class for the new server, most of her knowledge and experience in Elder Tale was effectively negated. However, she still remembered one thing, “Go to Big Ben and do Kiraboshi!” [attr="class","infotitle"]Extra [attr="class","infobox"] Random Trivia:

[attr="class","bigheader]Skills [attr="class","columnheader"]MAIN CLASS SKILLs [attr="class","columnheader"]SUB-CLASS CLASS SKILLs [attr="class","columnheader"]CRAFTING CLASS SKILLs [attr="class","column"] •Hiding Entry: Tier I Assassin Skill Self Buff. One of the basic stealth magics of the Assassin. A signature move of the Assassins, known for being able to hide in plain sight, that allows them to bend light around them and become invisible to the naked eye for an extended period of time, up to ten minutes. Offensive actions, stabbing a target for instance, immediately break the magic used to hide the Assassin. The spell itself can be a bit taxing to the Assassin and can only be used sparingly. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds, lightly draining the user's MP upon use. It has a cooldown of 30 seconds the moment it is canceled. •Hide Walk: Tier I Assassin Skill Self Buff. Even the novice Assassin must be adept at stealth. Known for being able to meld into shadow or disappearing behind cover, Assassins can become invisible to the naked eye for just a moment before dealing a deathly blow. It is not a perfect technique however, as those carefully watching the Assassin can see through their tricks. •Deadly Dance: Tier I Assassin Skill Physical Melee Attack. A skill that uses the Assassin’s angular momentum in order to increase the damage of their attack. The Assassin jumps and spins in the air while gripping their weapon, then lands onto the opponent and delivers a downward slash. The key of Deadly Dance is to accumulate angular momentum, so users might find it advantageous to use the skill multiple times in succession. •Accel Dance: Tier I Assassin Skill Physical Attack. The sister skill to Deadly Dance, focusing in increasing the Assassin’s speed rather than their power. As the Assassin strikes their foes, they enter a state of mind where they can release some of their body’s natural limiters, allowing them to increase the speed of their attacks. The repeated usage allows the Assassin to descend deeper into this state and increase their attack speed even further. While originally designed for melee attacks, as it is more of a state of mind, the technique can be applied to ranged attacks as well. •Quick Draw: Tier I Assassin Skill A skill focused on delivering a quick strike at the opponent. By gripping the weapon tightly and locking one's gaze toward a nearby foe, the player's body will quickly dash over to the target and perform an attack. Alternately used by ranged users to fire projectiles at a faster than usual pace. This sudden movement takes many unprepared opponents by surprise. Dimension Shot: Tier I Assassin Skill An Assassin's skill that expends mana to allow an projectile or a ranged skill fired from the Assassin to be fired from a different direction. Upon casting this skill, the Assassin designates one point within 2 meters of where they are standing. Should the Assassin fire a projectile or use a ranged skill within the next 10 seconds, the projectile(s) will disappear immediately from the Assassin's position, reappear at the targeted location's position, and continue within its normal trajectory. This skill allows an Assassin to perform a number of intricate trick shots depending on the situation and it can even be used to pin the blame of an attack on another nearby archer. The targetable range of this skill increases by 2 meters for every 30 Assassin levels. This skill has a casting time of 2.5 seconds and a cooldown of 15 seconds. •Shadow Bind: Tier I Assassin Skill Debuff. A magical technique created by Assassins, with a thematic effect quite fitting for those who love to strike from the shadows and call the darkness their home, yet poetically useless in full darkness itself as Shadows cannot exist without light. By striking the target’s shadow, the Assassin is able to create shadowy, almost invisible, tendrils from the victim’s own shadow that binds them completely •Magic Light: Tier I Adventurer Skill The user summons a bright ball of light. This spell has no real offensive properties and is mostly just used for illuminating a dark area. One particularly characteristic about the Magic Light is its face, which changes expression in a way mimicking its owner. It's often voted consistently near the top of annual Elder Tale "Which of these summons would make a good plushie for Elder Tale to sell as merchandise" polls. It comes in three forms - a spherical orb, a ball of flame, and a bundle of small firefly-like lights. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a duration of 2 minutes for Mage classes. For any other class, the duration of this skill is dropped to 30 seconds. There is no cooldown for this skill, but it cannot be conjured again for 10 seconds after it has worn off or manually canceled. •Hearing Aptitude: Tier I Adventurer Skill A toggle skill that improves the character's hearing perception. Whispers can be heard from about 2 meters away, conversations can be heard up to 10 meters away, and the hearing range of the most distant sounds are doubled. It is a very effective skill for the sake of gathering intel and eavesdropping. •Equipment Mastery: Unarmed Combat: Tier I Adventurer Skill A toggle skill that allows a non-Monk character to deal increased damage with their bare hands, much like a Monk would. It is a little more flexible than the Equipment Mastery skills if somewhat situational - most combat builds for classes other than Monks will generally have no major uses to being able to hit things harder with your fists due to the lack of skill support. Regardless, it could serve as a passable emergency tactic when you may find yourself disarmed. This skill does nothing if taken by a Monk. •Mythic Script: Tier I Adventurer Skill A toggle skill that uses a negligible amount of mana when it is activated. A skill that allows characters to write messages using pure mana. This message normally lasts for roughly a day if written on a surface or a minute if written in the air, before dissipating into the atmosphere. However, if the message is not exposed to the elements, such as within the bindings of a book, it is possible to preserve a message for months or even years. Taking this skill allows one to see these messages as well, for they are normally invisible to the untrained eye. It has been hypothesized that Ancient Age grimoires are composed from prayers and incantations written in mana onto paper that has been specifically designed to preserve its presence. Keep in mind that although this skill allows one to read writings in mana, it does not help with comprehension. •Ambidexterity: Tier I Adventurer Skill The mechanics of Elder Tale lightly discourage dual-wielding due to the reduced accuracy and proficiency with such a combat style. However, it remains a quite popular strategy among those who willingly sacrifice stability and defense for a little boost in DPS. It is such that Swashbucklers are primarily the class type that specializes in dual-wielding and thus has the most compatible skills for this purpose. The Ambidexterity skill passively lifts the dual-wielding penalty from equipping two one-handed weapons or two shields. This skill does nothing for a Swashbuckler, since they already possess a beginner skill which does the same purpose. [attr="class","column"] •Silent Move.: Tier I Tracker Skill A skill that deadens the user's movements whenever traveling, preventing them from making any sound while walking. In exchange, the Tracker's movement speed is reduced by 50%. For every 10 levels the tracker gains in their subclass level, this debuff is decreased by 10%. After Level 50, the debuff is eliminated completely. •Eagle Track.: Tier I Tracker Skill The tracker can designate a visible target to track. The target's form is highlighted and can be seen through walls and other obstacles from a short range and their footprints are highlighted for up to an hour. These footprints are visible only to the tracker. Upon obtaining this skill the user can track one target and can track an additional target every ten levels after. [attr="class","column"] •Transcription: Tier I Scribe Skill Scribes are known for their ability to copy documents carefully. Their knowledge also allows them to use and read grimoires in the Ancient Text, allowing them to use grimoires without penalties and perform some basic magic attacks depending on their Magic stat. |

[attr="class","column"] •Starter Leather Armor: Level 1 two-handed polearm A basic set of soft leather armor made from cheap leather. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. •Starter Scythe: Level 1 two-handed polearm A starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron and wood. It is well-balanced and easy to use but doesn’t hit particularly hard at all. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. •Windsor Antiqua Leather Armor: Level 5 leather armor. Leather armor that balances out defense and mobility. It is a mass-produced generic armor created by the People of the Land, and so is a little more expensive to buy than if one were to normally craft a similar-quality armor. •Windsor Antiqua Scythe: Level 5 two-handed polearm. A scythe that consists of a slightly reinforced metal blade atop a long wooden shaft. It is a mass-produced generic weapon created by the People of the Land, and so is a little more expensive to buy than if one were to normally craft a similar-quality weapon. • Excalibur Proto Replica II: Level 60 Rune Metaled One-Handed Sword. Compared to the original replica, it is twice as strong but still does not come close to the original, a blade that was powerful to the extent of rendering comparisons meaningless. Its owner has taken to calling the blade the Forever Distant Golden Sword as a reference to a canonical replication of an alternate version of the original blade.
