As the level 38 pink haired half-alv druid support class adventurer stepped inside the mouth of the the large overbearing carvern, he immediately felt strange. It was as if the deep dark cavern pulled at him, drawing him further inside. The hairs on the back of the druid's neck stood on edge as he tried his best to gaze down further, however the lack of light would certainly be an issue. Lucky for him however, he would be able to make good use of a new skill, Magic Light which he had recently unlocked, a skill common to all classes of adventurers but one that many decided they didn't need. However as he gazed towards the dark void that lay opposite him, he was grateful that he had decided to unlock it. Normally Zyrune wasn't one to explore areas beneath the surface unless he had a particular reason in doing so and this just happened to be one of those times. A person of the land merchant who was very popular in the trading market normally used this particular cavern to transport his goods from an undisclosed area on the other side of it, perhaps even within the cavern. However due to exploration inside other cavern areas, monster activity levels had increased significantly and so had sought the help of adventurers within Londinium. In exchange for their help in clearing out the rather long and winding passage, the person of the land had promised a small amount of gold. However it wasn't the gold that had attracted the druid, but the experience that he would gain from helping the lander. Other than the experience, the druid longed for a distraction from recent events that he shook his head clear of as soon as they were even tempted to try fill his mind. Besides Elder Tale was based on the quest system, and since the event people of the land refused to hand out quests as much as they used to and what little quests they did hand out were usually swiped up by higher level players. Taking in the dark cavern before him, Zyrune knew that the next few hours would be difficult. The quest required several adventurers and so far he had been unable to inspect the team and unsure if he had ever fought alongside them or not. Still once they got past the awkward what formation who is in charge part of it, they would do fine, still he wasn't even sure if they would be able to form one party, let alone two, still better to find out now rather than deep inside the cavern. The only cause for concern was that if anyone died, unlike a raid zone, adventurers would respawn back in Londinium rather than at the start of the cavern, still the druid had the use of his resurrection skill, but he didn't want to waste it. Despite being level 38, the druid had scaled his level back to level 30 as the quest had called for adventurers level 15 - 30 as any adventurer of a higher level within the cavern would have attracted more monsters and defeat the purpose of the quest. That level gap might pose a problem at first, but he figured that they would soon be able to over come it. Turning on his heal, he gave a wink and a soft wave to those gathered behind him including the lander guide that had shown them which cavern it was they were to clear out. "Zyrune, a druid, pleasure to meet you." He stood there observing them for a moment with a vibrant smile with innocent curious eyes as he let them introduce themselves. "ENEMIES!" The lander guide's voice sounded just before the Cavern erupted with a bright light, an area near the druid exploding into a cloud of smoke and rubble. Pursing his lips, the druid frowned as he gripped his staff, it was considerably shorter than the average staff and recently bought too straight from the lander markets of Londinium. It was pure white metal with a soft clear gem adorning the top. Frowning at the interruption to their conversation, he managed to note that ahead barely concealed by the cavern's shadows stood four rat men, the beasts were on edge and ready to attack. Grinning, the druid hoped that the adventurers assembled where up to the task. NOTES Hope you don't mind me lending a hand. | It seemed that this week was going to be a week of firsts as he once more ventured out into the wilds. This time it was to help a group of landers clear out a cavern- though why they wanted it he did not know. As an adventurer he didn't much care what they would do with it since it affected him very little in his daily life. They probably just wanted the minerals from within or perhaps there was some sort of treasure lost within.
How bored with everything did you have to be if the prospect of treasure did nothing for you either? He chuckled inwardly as he seemed to be growing more and more like his father was by the day. Walking along behind the lander guide, he watched as the druid with them seemed to be leading the charge along side their guide.
He didn't really care who was in charge but he did however care who was in front. Despite his lack of a shield he was still designated tank unless someone else was better suited for it. If either of them got caught out they would find themselves in a pretty crappy situation so he thought it best to avoid that. Picking up the pace, the black knight moved into sync with the two of them.
Thankfully introductions were not long and awkward like they seemed to be with low level players. This man kept it simple, name, class and some simple manners. He could respect the man for that as it showed he was here more for the quest than to socialize with the others. "Balore. I'll be your tank this afternoon." he replied with a smirk and a laugh. His deep gravely voice carried a bit in the danke cave which made him more cautious when speaking.
"What exactly are we-" he started to ask before he was rudely interupted. There was an explosion that rocked the nearby cave wall sending dust flying everywhere around them. It seemed that battle was now joined by these rat men and they meant to slay every single one of them. Drawing his large two handed axe from his back, he took a step forward placing himself between Zyrune and the new foes they faced.
"Stay behind me. Don't stray too far from the group and cover me." he said with a commanding tone before rushing forward. He didn't truly care much for his own saftey but for that of those he was charged with protecting. That and he assumed that the druid had plenty of spells in his arsenal to keep the wolf hair tank going in this skirmish.
That battle would begin with a bright green flash and a loud shout. "Anchor Howl!" he cried as all of the mobs were then taunted to attack him instead of being able to focus anyone else. "Looks like you're stuck with me." he said with a smirk before he raised the axe over his head and brought it down upon one of the rat men who met his attack with his own.
There was no greater rush than being locked with an opponent in battle. |

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
Saskia gripped the reins tightly of her gallant horse, Icarus as she slowly trotted along the outside of the cavern walls. She ran a firm gauntlet through his vanilla mane as he stomped lightly upon the ground, kicking up dirt and debris. The mature colt had let out a slight neigh and shook his head from side to side rustling his shimmering platinum blonde mane against her slender fingers. Saskia had forged a rather steadfast bond with the beast over time as she watched it grow and develop into a rather magnificent war horse. Though they were two seperate sentient beings, the duo often performed on the battlefield as one, working in tandem to cover each other’s backs.
Saskia was proud of her war horse, Icarus, and had been impressed by how much stronger he had grown over the months of grueling training, feeding, an raising she had to go through with him. She smiled as she stroked his ivory coat, which was a swhite as the freshly fallen snow. She looked up as the pink rose petal strands of her hair drifted to the side and draped over her shoulder.
She noticed a cotton candy haired Half-Alv enter the cavern and slowly follow his company. Saskia figured that it was highly likely that he was there for the same reason as she was. Either for the sense of adventure or just to make some extra coin on the side. For Saskia, it was moreso to explore uncharted areas and to face new foes. It would also serve as a form of training to her as she had to figure out a thing or two about her skills and find ways to optimize their use in battle.
Saskia was a bit wary of dark caverns, never being one to be thrilled by dark places. However, the soothing ray of light that emerged from the Druid’s fingers brought her at ease. She soon noticed that the Druid had scaled his level back to thirty for the quest and after Saskia glanced at the quest requirements, she soon followed suit and scaled her level back to thirty as well. She felt a bit more comfortable being on the higher end of that spectrum which made her feel a bit safer as she explored the cavern.
The Druid introduced himself, to which Saskia smiled warmly and gave a soft reply. “Saskia Steelheart, A Guardian-Cavalier Hybrid, it’s a pleasure to have you with us.”
As Saskia continued to ride her horse deeper inside, an ash haired man who stood beside her muttered a few words. Saskia didn’t get a chance to make out what he had said before she was met with the ear piercing ringing that shattered through her ear drums as the loud explosion burst from within the cavern. This made Icarus neigh violently as he stomped at the ground, and Saskia had to tug at the reins to get him under control. As bits of dust and debris were hurled at her, she raised her steel gauntlet to shield her eyes.
To her right, she heard the ash haired Guardian pull his heavy greataxe out and start issuing orders. Saskia gave a nod of approval and took her shield down from her back and unsheathed the spear that lied dormant upon her back adorned in royal blue paint that was adorned with gold designs near the tip of the spear. She peered over her mount to gaze at their adversaries.
“Ratmen...” She snarled. “Damn disgusting rodents..Alright, Guardian you got the right flank, I take it? I’ll go ahead and storm the left side and flank them. Let’s give these bastards an impenetrable wall they’ll never pass!”
Saskia cut her blade downward and at an angle as she cracked the reins at Icarus, beckoning him forward, as he stampeded into the fray. She soon thereafter toggled on her [Knight’s Heart] ability which increased her aggro attracting ability while in a mounted state and also raised her agility by about ten percent. Next she activated her [Fold Step] ability which was normally a Swashbuckler skill that was granted to her by the blessing of her leveled cavalier abilities. Like a violent whirlwind she and Icarus quickly entered a mad dash and was already in the middle of the battlefield in record speed.
The value of her steed was that it offered exquisite mobility and a range of expanded options than simply being a mere foot soldier. She let the ash white haired maintain the majority of the aggro as she beckoned one of the Ratmen to her with a [Taunting Shout] and thrust her spear forward at it in a piercing thrust.
She was soon met with the fierce backlash of the Ratmen as she thrust his sword into her side. She released a loud growl, and grimaced from the pain, however, when she turned back to look at her adversary, one could see the scorching golden omnious glow of the Wolf Hairs burning a hole into him as her eyes burnt like the blazing sun.

Klide was ready to test his new weapons. He had just picked them up after a wait, which had been far longer than expected, and he was really excited to see how they would feel in his hands. His weapons had all been made by Saber, a blacksmith who owned the Funeral Parlor blacksmith shop. he had met Saber once, prior to the time when he went to the blacksmith shop to make his order for new weapons. He first met Saber in a park outside of Londinium after he awoke to find a girl sleeping against the trunk of a tree, and Klide was situated up in a branch directly above her. Ahhh, but that is a story for a different time. he had gone into Funeral Parlor, and ordered three swords. Two were katanas, weapons which he had grown accustomed to wielding since he had entered Elder Tale, having had been dual wielding them since the very beginning. The third sword was an experiment, one which he could only hope would bring some good results. He had ordered a very large claymore in the hopes that a massive blade would be more effective in some situations than his katanas; Namely against heavily armored targets, or very large ones, or just ones who he wanted to cleave with a large sword. he walked away from the Funeral Parlor blacksmith shop with the two katanas strapped on opposite sides of his cloth belt. The one named Fox on the left side, and the one named Tiger on the right side. His claymore was in his inventory, ready to tear a canyon into the first thing to block its path, including Klide. As he walked, he held one hand on his right sword handle, and the other loosely at his side. He had a destination in mind, and hoped that a few days would be enough to get the hang of the new swords. Klide leaned against the trunk of a snow coated tree along the bank of the River Thames. From his vantage point on the cold branch he rested on, he could see a large group of boars across the river, and some Jolly Snowmen sliding around on the ice sheet that covered the river before him. he slid his two new katanas out of their respective sheaths, and sprinted down the length of the branch he had been laying on. He dove off of it when he reached a point where the branch began to make cracking noises from bending too much, and used the spring like force from the branch to propel himself further in the air. Klide flew for a several seconds, his swords outstretched before him, with his body spinning like a large drill. When he reached the first snow man, he passed straight through its soft snowy body; His blades tearing the snow to little clumps as he passed through it. He spun on his knee as he landed and planted his foot from his kneeling pose. He drove it into the snow beneath, and once again sprang forward, this time cutting three or four Jolly Snowmen as he passed them. They began to attack, getting over their initial surprise rather quickly. They began lobbing snowballs at him, but they only served as something else for him to practice against. He sliced through the oncoming projectiles slower than he would with his old swords; not surprising though, since these new swords were much heavier than the old ones. He managed to cut most of the snow balls, missing only two of them. One of which missed him by a hair's breadth, and the other hitting him lightly in the arm. He sprinted into the small crowd of snowmen, some of which were still cut from before, and he began hacking, slashing, and stabbing their poofy cold bodies until none of them were left standing. Satisfied with how the katanas had performed, Klide wiped the snow, coal, and water off of the blades, and then sheathed them. He unequipped them, sending them into his inventory, and in their stead, he equipped the claymore. The dark sword matched his clothes, but little else in this barren white landscape. Klide walked away from the shore, heading more in land, into a thick forest, full of obstacles and targets. He found a large enough clearing which left a large circle of open sky above him. He had about fifteen feet of clear room in every direction if he stood in the middle of the clearing. He pulled the long sword from its hardened black leather sheath. The spine of the sheath had been split, which made removing the blade whilst it lay on his back far easier. He held the blade to the sky, admiring the craftsmanship. It was long, sturdy, and black, and it felt as though it had a will of it's own. He got the feeling that this sword would be stubborn, and it would not listen unless Klide could prove himself to it. This sword would take a lot of work to master. He felt its bumpy hilt in his hand. The hilt had six enlarged portions which resembled large rings, hiding under the leather wrapping. They felt odd, but He could tell that they would offer excellent friction for keeping his hands on the hilt. He put his right hand under his left and swung the large heavy sword once in a downward diagonal slash. The power behind the swing was shocking, but the blade loosening it self and swinging around in his hands, almost slitting his throat, was more surprising still. His suspicions had been correct when he sensed that this sword would be a pain in the ass to wield. he began more swings, trying his hardest to keep the blade from killing him in the process of his training. He spent the next few days practicing various attacks and defenses with the sword. Ironically, it was the defensive moves which brought the most danger to him, because that was when the blade was closest to his body. Finally, after some-what getting the basics down, he moved to a few more unusual techniques. He gripped the large sword in his left hand, and swung it upward, releasing it in time to see it fly high up into the air. He jumped up after it, and as it fell toward him, spinning like a windmill, he reached out to it. The tip stung toward his out stretched hand, and the swords sharp point dragged across his palm, leaving a small cut as it spun down further and landed in the frozen earth below. Klide landed next to it, holding his hand clenched to keep to much blood from oozing out from his new wound. He smiled at the sword and gave a small chuckle. "You really do want me dead don't you, you crazy demon sword? That is fine, but just be warned, not many actually get what they want in this nice world of ours." With that, he lifted the sword with his bloody hand, once again placing his other under the first, and he felt some individual blood drops flow down the hilt of the black sword. They passed in between his clenched finders and down across his other hand, finally reaching the round pommel, where they stopped to collect into larger drops, and then fall to the ground, leaving little crimson drops in the otherwise pure snow. He began more repetitions of swings, jabs, lunges, blocks, parries, and counters, all the while more little drops painting the snow at his feet. When dusk came, Klide found a pile of dry, dead branches and started a small fire a little distance from the spot he had chosen to rest in. He watched the blaze, the stars, and the dark forest around him for a few hours before falling to slumber where he sat, holding the hellish sword in its sheath, letting it rest against his shoulder. The next morning the process repeated, and so on and so forth for four more days. On the night of the fifth day, Klide had just finished dressing his newest wound (one of at least a dozen by now) and he looked over at the sword. "You do not seem to hate me as much anymore, did something happen to you? Did your new companion's blood finally quell your inner rage, Ragnarok?" He took the crimson sword and brushed the new blood off of the blade as well as any snow and water that may have made its way onto the shiny black blade. He then sheathed the sword. brought it to his chest, and sat up against the tree behind him. He fell into a deep slumber quickly, and when he opened his eyes after what felt like minutes, The sun was rising over the distant horizon. Klide stood and stretched sliding the sheath onto his back, and walking back into the center of the clearing. The snow under his feet was so packed from all of his foot work and training, that it no longer crunched when he stepped on it. It was as still and silent as pavement. He drew the large black sword from his back, slowly guiding it out of the hard leather sheath, allowing every bit of the blade to absorb some of the morning light. As soon as the blade fully slide out of the sheath however, his entire approach changed. He gave his hand a jerk, and the blade once again flew into the air, but it did not fly very high. It flew maybe three meters into the air before beginning to fall, and as it fell, its tip facing down, it began to slide into its sheath. He pulled the blade out again after it had fully re sheathed itself in the hardened leather on his back. He looked at the blade, and he got the feeling that whatever force drove it to want him dead, now understood that he could use that evil intent against it. He began to swing the sword in the basic techniques, then moved to a few more advanced ones. The sword still found its way a little to close to Klide's body on occasion, but he did not receive a single cut, even when he tried half-swording and mordhau techniques, the blade did not cut his skin. He practiced the half-swording jabs and thrusts repeatedly, and then worked on the mordhau swings, holding the blade with both hands and swinging the pommel and guard as a war hammer. He switched back to standard grip and cleft a few dry branches from a near by dead tree, throwing them onto his little fire and continuing to practice various strikes. He tried moves that he knew would never working in the other world, but with this world's different mechanics, and the acrobatic prowess of the Swashbuckler class, he figured he could pull them off. One technique had him sprint forward, and jump up, making himself into a ball as he did so, and spinning like a human circular saw, but it took a few tries to land properly, with steady footing, and an imaginary foe speared at the tip of him blade, now impaled in the frozen soil. Klide wiped his brow and figured it was about time to rejoin society, instead of spending more time training. The best training for him was always real combat anyway. He wiped all the debris off of his blade and sheathed the black claymore. Just as he was putting out his little camp fire, a friendly Person of the Land he'd spoken to earlier came into the clearing. "Hello Edward, what brings you this deep into the forest?". The fat man scratched his rough brown beard and looked at Klide. "You is what brings me here. Specifically, the request you made earlier." He smiled at the man. "Ahhh, so you found a job for me then? I do hope this one is interesting." The fat man by the name of Edward led him back to Londinium, explaining what he had found. "It is a simple job really, just some monster slaying, seems there has been a recent infestation in a cavern a bit off from town. The merchant who made the job request uses that cavern on his journeys when he transports goods, and it seems that the monsters have cause him a bit of trouble. From what I have heard, he will meet with any one willing to accept the job in about an hour. why don't you get breakfast at my food stall while you wait." Klide listened intently and when the man was finished he gave a rather short reply. "Thank you Edward, I think I will take you up on that offer. Better get some good food in me if I want the energy to kill anything."Klide sat on a stool in the food stall as he waited for his meal. He was hoping he could finish it off quickly so that he would not be the last to arrive at the meeting. Some People of the land passed behind him as he waited, but there were not many adventurers in this region of town for some reason. Either they did not know about it, or they left it to the People of the land. His attention was shifted when a plate of eggs and pancakes appeared under his nose. He thanked the woman who brought it and began to dig in, unintentionally listening to a few men having a conversation at a table behind him. What he heard almost made him choke on an egg. He forked the rest down his throat and tossed some coin onto the counter, sprinting out od the food stall and climbing onto the roof of the nearest building. He sprinted across the roof tops in an effort to avoid and delays he would have to deal with in the morning crowds. "Damn it! Why did they leave early, and hour won't make that much of a difference will it. That merchant probably wants to get his goods moving again as soon as possible, but depending on the monsters we'll have to deal with, he may have to wait another day or two before that happens. Seriously, why couldn't he wait another hour?" Klide Jumped off of a roof at the edge of town, rolling when he hit the ground, and then returning to a sprint as he followed the foot prints of a small party of people out of town. He climbed into the trees to follow from above. As he jumped from branch to branch, following the tracks that led through the small forest outside of Londinium, he noticed that the tracks were gradually growing fainter. "Damn, seems the snow is rolling in again. I just hope it does not get much worse." He continued to follow the ever fainter tracks into the distance until he could barely make them out anymore. The snow fall was gradually growing more and more. He continued following the dirt road the tracks had been traveling on until he was met with a three way fork in the road. With the tracks now completely gone, Klide looked around, hoping to spot anything that might give away where the party had gone. He dropped down from his tree branch and squinted off into the distance down each of the paths. Some movement on the right one caught his eye, and he climbed back up into the branches, following the movement. When he caught up with the movement, it turned out he had found his target. The merchant was talking to a man with a small group of adventurers. He dropped from his branch and began to walk toward the group when suddenly, the merchant shouted "ENEMIES!" and hid behind one of the adventurers. He continued his advance toward the group of people, as he got closer, he recognized at least one of them. Saskia was one of the members of the party, Klide was happy to see her again after their last adventure with Alette and Dumah. He didn't seem to recognize the others and went to tap the merchant on the shoulder when he got close enough to the man. The merchant let out a squeal of surprise and his eyes were temporarily filled with fear. Suddenly, before Klide could say anything to the merchant, a large blast shook the ground under his feet. He looked into the cave to see it full of debris, and the party was advancing into the cave. Klide ran to the entrance of the cavern, finding that Saskia had taken the left flank and the other guardian had taken the right. A third pink haired man stood in the back, holding an orb of light. Klide dashed into the cavern, gradually sliding his claymore from the sheath that had lain dormant on his back. He charged passed the pink haired man, and planned to go forth in between the two guardians. However, he saw one of the adversaries, a ratman, stab Saskia in the side, and jump back to avoid her lance. Klide changed direction and ran towards Saskia. He finished drawing the sword just as he closed in on the ratman, and swung it with his left hand, cutting into the ratman's right side. Klide pulled the sword back and placed his right hand onto the hilt under his left hand. He swung down onto the ratman, cutting a gash into it's shoulder, and causing it to hiss with rage and pain. Enchanter - Scribe - Apprentice _____________________________________________
"Wait, Saskia, wait...start over and slow it down." Myrddin said into the heel of his hand (the game wide gesture for a telepathic call), while the digits of his left hand drummed out a basic four beat rhythm. The wolf hair guardian, Saskia, sighed heavily and repeated the quest info, gave him a time frame, and "hung up". Myrddin sat in the middle of the Log Inn with his hand cupped over his ear in silence for a moment. His fingers had ceased their drumming as they wrapped around the handle of a mug of ale. The bartender, a bald, stoic looking dwarf looked at the enchanter's expression and gave a single shoulder shrug. "You're tellin' me." Myrddin said as if in reply to the dwarf's unspoken words. As he took a long pull from his mug he swiped a finger at the air and summoned his status screen. After he deftly navigated through his inventory, Myrddin found his crudely made map and shook his head. "I really should work on this more." He griped to himself as he selected another scroll from his inventory and summoned it to his hand.
After he cleared a section of the bar he located the coordinates Saskia gave him and marked it with one of his quill pens. "Shouldn't take too long to get there if I- wait since when did I just jump when a woman said so?" He asked himself as he looked over the marked map. The dwarf grunted once without looking at him before he began picking up more empty mugs and pint glasses. "Oh really? I'm not a push over." He said and he leaned against the counter top. "I'm a man." Myrddin's eyes were met by the dwarf's whom cocked a single eyebrow and pointed his pinky over the enchanter's shoulder at the table of women within earshot. Heat spread across Myrddin's face as he executed an awkward look over his shoulder. The table looked at him with annoyed expressions and eyes that spoke murder. With a simple wave and a word of apology he escaped the situation with his life. With a word of departure to the bartender he set out for the quest location.
A few hours later Myrddin trudged up a path that his map said would lead him to the quest location. His simple trip there had been anything but simple. The enchanter groaned to himself as he pulled his heavy cloak closer to his body. The chilled fingers of winter stabbed into the exposed areas of his skin. With a chattering curse he tried to escape into the blackness and warm of his cowl. "W-w-wa-ll-king in a w-w-wint-t-t-...shit." Myrddin's left hand, all bound in wool and leather, gripped the shaft of his staff and used it to traverse the snowy path that was said to lead him to the cave. The enchanter's, the color of muddy water, were flecked with ice chips and his skin looked like it had the onset of cracks forming. He wanted to make some funny joke or groan but it seemed that last curse was all he could be able to muster.
Or so he thought as an explosion, loud enough to be heard over the howling winds, pierced the moving air. "What the hell?!" He shrieked as he felt a slight tremor course through his legs. As something inside him screamed for him to hurry. Through sheer force of will, and expensive winter clothes, Myrddin cut his way through the snowy path till he came to the precipice of a hill. Taking a moment to look around he noticed the jaws of the cave not far from his current position. "It might be serious enough to run," he said to himself, the earlier chatter of his teeth was gone, replaced by the inner fire of curiosity. "Damn it." He groaned and limply ran toward the cavernous jaws.
By the time Myrddin reached the cave he could hear the sound of battle echo from within. Though not far within he noted and, despite his ragged breath and jackhammer heart rate, he ventured into the cave. With a quick gesture to the air he summoned his screens and selected his friend list. Pressing his finger tip to Saskia's name plate he cupped his hand over his ear. "Saskia, I'm- uhh...nevermind." The enchanter of wit said as he turned came to a large open area of the cave with a large opening in the wall. Beastmen stormed out from the opening and a handful of fighters had engaged. A caster, a swashbuckler with large blade in hand (a claymore if he was correct), Saskia and another man whom also looked familiar. "No time for memory games." He mumbled as he moved within rage of his spells.
"Two heavy hitters and a dps...got it." Myrddin said as he focused his will and released it. A status buff icon would appear next to the health bar of everyone in the party. signifying the increase in their weapon damage and the hour duration. On Myrddin's own screen began a sixty second count down for [Keen Edge]. "And next," He began as his eyes slid over to the familiar man and surveyed his battle condition. Noticing the green hue from him Myrddin recognized it as [Anchor Howl]. "He'll be fine for the moment." He thought aloud and calmed his breathing and surveyed the rest of the area, taking into account the distance the ratmen were from him. He was squishy and knew all too well what happened when melee fighters got close to him.

Polack || ~ || " Alright..." Polack sighed out as he said that, standing up from the stump he was sitting at. He has been thinking about what he has done and what he was about to do. The young male didn't know why he has accepted the quest he soon would find himself into. Some merchant from the people of the land was requesting a group to help him out with a problem concerning a cavern. Of course that wasn't anything untypical and it wasn't what was troubling him, but the fact that other people that he didn't know where there aswell. Meeting strangers would never be a trouble for Polack if they would speak Polish, or at least if he could speak proper English. The only reason why he accepted was the experience he expected and the chance to gain some gold. Still, the whole issue of being forced to cooperate with other people was stressing him, which is why he was sitting here in the middle of nowhere for a while. But now it was time to go there, he didn't want to come too late, that would lead to him having to explain himself and that would be even more stressing... Soon he found himself standing in between the other adventurers, that started to say their names and Polack wasn't sure if he has understood that right or not, but he had the feeling that some of them already knew each other. The young pole decided to not say a word, but after a while he noticed that it would be rude and was about to force himself to reveal his aweful accent when speaking in English as suddenly... " ENEMIES!". Polack never knew one could be happy about hearing bad news, but he immediately smirked and concentrated on the situation. The opponents of the party were Ratmen, four of them in number. In order to not cause any chaois, Polack waited for everyone to react. He saw the male Guardian take on the right flank, the female Guardian the left one right afterwards, followed by a male Swashbuckler. The Enchanter and Druid stayed in the background, where Polack was right now aswell. Out of the logical constelation of numbers, he decided to aid the male Guardian that was currently taking the Ratmen alone. Moving a tad forward and to the left, so he could shoot the opponents from a diagonal location without harming the Guardian, Polack activated the skill Arrow Revolver [skill], as he figured that he couldn't do anything that would cause more damage, considering he didn't want to catch the Ratmen's attention. The five arrows appearing around the young Assassin, he fired one after the other with his bow, covering the said Ratmen in rapid fire, he adjusted each shot by himself, being confident enough in his own skills. The main idea behind that was to cause smaller damage but within a very fast manner, so that way he could be sure to not drag the attention of the opponents.

Hp:100 Mp:100"Stay behind me. Don't stray too far from the group and cover me." Nodding as the guardian Balore took his place in front of the party, Zyrune used the time to put some distance between them. So far he could see four rat men two were level 25 while the other two possible young ones were only level 20. Smirking as the guardian erupted in a bright green light, the druid knew that the enemies attention would be restricted to the white haired knight allowing the weaker members of their party the ability to attack while also protecting them from massive amounts of damage a significantly higher level enemies might cause. As the rat-man's claws clashed with the metal of Balore's axe, the others circled with intent. It was then the pink haired druid noticed that the second Guardian, Saskia was her name had taken her place in the battle managing to engage the other more powerful beast. It was hard to see due to the lack of light already breaking through into the cavern, but judging from the growl the woman let out, she had taken some damage already, unsure of which guardian to focus on, the druid paused for a moment, watching only as his decision was made for him. A swashbuckler late to the party joined with Saskia. Between the two of them they would be able to take on the level 25 ratman, it might cause them some damage but they could manage without a healer for now. Turning his attention back towards Balore, he held his staff outwards towards the group. Despite the guardian's high level, the three remaining ratman would definitively pack a significant punch. "Willow Spirit!" The gem sparkled and glowed green meanwhile the ground beneath one of the weaker foul creatures erupted with long twisting dark green vines covered with thorns, quickly the set to work ensnaring the beast as it hissed and swiped trying to prevent their advance. The spell wouldn't hold him for very long, but it would stop him closing the remaining distance and attacking the guardian, leaving two of the hissing demi humans for him to face. Beside the druid stood an impressive looking man with a dark skin tone, impressive by Zyrune's standards anyway. He didn't appear to be a melee class, it was only when his hand light up and a corresponding icon appeared further within the cavern, did it hit the druid that the man was also a support type. For once the druid was not the only support in the party, that was certainly a relief. So few people picked supporting classes that more often than not he found himself the single ray of support between 5 other people. Giving the man a nod, Zyrune hoped that like himself the enchanter knew some attack spells. Quickly he turned his attention back towards the pair who on the left who seemed to be doing okay. However the guardian was taking some damage already. Quickly holding hand up in her direction. "Cure bloom." Her body erupted in a soft pink hue and hopefully if the druid timed it right would repair somewhat of the damage of any on coming attack. Quickly casting his gaze towards the first guardian, his anchor howl wouldn't last much longer, he needed some support, as if reading the druid's mind the last member of their party flung himself towards Balore somewhat before letting off a range of arrows. Perfect that meant that he was a long range dps, which would more than work well in the current party combination, however that still meant that Balore was going to be facing attacks from two and soon three well armed enemies. His heart was already beating a mile a minute and they are barely ventured inside the mouth of the cave. Quickly checked to make sure the lander was safe, the druid knew he needed to ease the pressure off Balore. Sure he was a tank but that mean could handle that much damage. "Brilliant Prism!" The druid's staff using the light from his magic light spell erupted in a blinding beam of light that shot forward striking the foul beast he had previously constricted before it had the chance to jump at Balore, now free of the druid's vines. However a flash of red could be seen in the shadows as the light struck the beast if only for an instant, the druid hadn't notice it, but someone closer may have seen it. Enemies can be controlled by anyone, so feel free to rp with them. However I ask that you do no god mod and be respectful 2. Be respectful of other people and their characters when controlling enemies 3. Due to the level differences in this thread, I would ask that all players including myself be lowered to level 25 via the scaling option on the interface. You would keep your skills from level 30 down. 4. Don't be afraid to push the story forward or add more enemies if you wish to 5. NOTES For the sake of keeping track of which Ratman is which I'll throw them at the bottom of my replies. The enemy that hit Saskia takes a massive crit due to Anchor Howls secondary effect. | This brought him back to his days as a level one stomping around outside of Londinium with his friends. Back then he was naive and not very good at leading anything other than the score for most damage taken. Now however he felt like he had more experience, enough to bark orders as a battlefield tank despite others having more experience on him. It was how he had been taught when this was just a game- the tank was the one who lead the charge and issued party orders.
There were two of them however and so he would split the duty with Saskia as she was called. Like himself she was a cavalier but unlike him she actually made use of it beyond a travel gimick. There was a smirk on his face as he watched the woman come riding past him knowing that a dual tank mechanic worked well. Because of her increased presence on the field she would draw some aggro off of him which would work against the rat man.
Unfortunately for them they would be too late to figure out their demise was imminent. As her presence built she managed to aggro a few away from him which triggered [Anchor Howls] secondary effect. The moment they took swings at Saskia they would be hit with a critical strike for a high amount of damage that could be mitigated by anything short of a castle of stone. Knowing that they possessed no such skill he smirked as he watched their health bars get cut in half.
What a brilliant combo they made; once the skill was off of cooldown he would spam it again to keep it up. Behind him the sounds of more foot steps became prominent which he hoped was the sound of reinforcements. If the enemy was already scrambling to surround them then they were in trouble unless they moved back into a tight formation. His mind raced tracking several things on the field yet he never forgot about the ratman who he was staring down.
"Impressive ugly, just not good enough." he spat as he forced the axe forward. With a powerful push he activated his [Sword Rain Flurry] skill which brought five slashes down on the ratman before him in quick succession, enough to stagger it and wind it. The problem was that he was locked into the animation and unable to protect himself from the side attack from the second ratman who he had aggroed.
A loud smashing sound resounded as the ratmans claws hit his armor. They were sharp however and managed to slip inbetween the plates. The wound was shallow but it still did some damage to him which caused his fury to grow. The benefit of being a wolf hair anything when it came to melee was the strength bonus you gained during the rage of combat. His strength stat started to rise as his eyes became a golden hue; the end was near for them.
Balore's health bar dropped by about ten percent from that one attack but it did not deter the man from fighting on. As a guardian he had to hold the front lines or the battle fell apart for everyone else. His final act of defiance was to activate his [Taunting Shout] to re-establish his threat lead and coat himself in a thin layer of mana to protect him from the incoming auto attacks. Hopefully the rest of them were fairing better than he was here.

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
The tempo of adrenaline fueled combat raged through her veins. The violent upsurge activated the killswitch to be engaged as the hot blooded Wolf Hair felt the tyrant flood of energy encompass her from the Enchanter’s [Keen Edge] spell. Saskia noticed an emblem in the corner of her status bar that bloomed with the information that her strength had been boosted and primed for battle. The thrill overcame her as she watched the rats begin to shatter the barrier of their twin anchor Howls and be devastated by the shockwave that accompanied it. Shock and awe was their two tools of the trade as the guardians stormed the battlefield.
Volleys of arrows loomed from behind Saskia and whisked towards the ratmen that surrounded Balore. No doubt supportive fire from one of their allies. However in the heat of the battle, Saskia had to focus on her own targets. As she saw the prism engulfed one of the ratmen that tried to assault Balore for the [Brilliant Prism] spell that the druid had cast, she smirked as the team had begun to even the odds in this violent frenzy.
Even better was the fact that the swashbuckler whom she had helped on a rescue mission to save the daughter of Dumah Ilno with had joined her at her side. He heaved his heavy sword and ripped through the enemy, sending a crushing blow into it's shoulder. However the resilient beast was still able to manage to have some fight in him as he scurried away to prepare a counterattack, still aggroed to the guardian.
"Klide! Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes! Nice gear by the way. It's definitely been a while!" Saskia smiled gracefully.
The blossom of her flourescent pink hair swayed in the dark cavern as Icarus rumbled about the deck, stomping his feet. In a bold charge, he burst past them and circled around, building momentum for another vicious assault. As she charged threw the heard of rats, [Ratmen B] had leaped up and beared his fangs at her in an attempt to bite her neck. Feeling the hot fusion of the sensation of danger mixed with sharp defiance. She activated her [Counter Break] skill and slammed the shaft of her spear across the beast’s face. It collided with the Ratmen’s cheekbone and sent spit flying and splattering on the ivory coat of her horse as the ratman spun about and collided on the ground, skidding on it’s hind legs and underbelly.
She glanced out of the corner of her eye and saw that the enchanter that accompanied them was none other than her guildmate, Myrddin.
“Well, it certainly took you long enough! Don’t tell me I’m going to have to let Icarus give you a piggyback ride through this whole cavern!” Saskia chuckled in a teasing manner. However, her boisterous laughs were soon shortlived as she took notice of a cunning [Ratmen D] unleashing a familiar skill that put a series of three pronged strikes at her with his deadly claws.
Because of her [Shield Mastery] skill, she was able to manuvuer the heavy great shield in time to block the first attack, but the tricky ratmen hooked his claws over the shield and lunged at Saskia with the following two strikes. The wicked beast bolstered improved accuracy and damage within the darkness.
Saskia howled from the injuries and unleashed a brutal [Shield Smash] at the ratmen, crushing him into a wall and pinning him with her shield for a moment, before she galloped away on her horse.
As Saskia went on further ahead, she noticed that most of the cavern was also drenched in coating of web from the outer surfaces.
“What the hell....are those...eggs?” Saskia shouted as she saw a bundle of spider eggs in the corner of the room. “Oh for neep’s sake, I hate Spiders!” She shouted in an agitated manner.
“Great, just freaking FANTASTIC! First rats and now this! I swear this place is freaking filthy! What next? Giant man eating earthworms?” Saskia quipped as her golden eyes glazed over the battlefield.

Klide Had just pulled his blade from the hissing beast shoulder. It was enraged with him and as soon and he backed away with his sword, it scurried off to prepare to attack again. "Klide! Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes! Nice gear by the way. It's definitely been a while!" Saskia said to him while she smiled gracefully. Klide replied while he struck another one of the rat men with a heavy swing. "Indeed, you've made a lot of progress since then, but where did you loose Bailin?" Klide continued his assault. The foe was only one level higher than him, so he was not too concerned, but he was also careful not to be cocky and over confident. He knew that even these unarmed foes should not be underestimated, especially with their teeth and fangs as natural weapons. He saw out of the corner of his eye, that Saskia had just launched a rat off from her side and it was not on the ground, struggling back to it's feet. Klide was too distracted. In that moment of lacking focus, the rat man he was fighting leaped towards Saskia and activated a skill. He then jumped to attack he her, and was met by a shield to the face. he continued his assault and Saskia got cut up a little, but she managed to daze him by slamming him into the cavern wall. Klide returned his focus to his new foe. The rat man who Saskia had struck in the face was now back on his feet, prepared to attack her. Klide Held his claymore tightly as he swung it up ward across the rat man's back. He then stabbed, but the rat man jumped back to avoid the attack. Klide jumped up and span like a wheel, bringing the blade down heavily on the rat man, but his aim was off, and instead of hitting the rat man on the head, he chopped one of it's ears on, and the blade dug into the rat man's collar. As he tugged the blade out of the beast, it let out a great hiss. As he stung again, it leaped into the air and grabbed his blade in the tips of its claws. It shifted the blade and kicked him in the chest, propelling him back, and he hit the cavern wall. The wind was knocked out of Klide and he struggled to his feet, his sword a few feet ahead of him. He took a gasp of breath to fill his lungs, and then sprinted for his sword. He lifted it as he ran and then swung at he rat. The blade slid across the rat man's side and cut a deep gash, Klide pulled it back and then stood defensively, trying to be prepared to counter any attack that may come his way. Enchanter - Scribe - Apprentice _____________________________________________
In the real world one might deal with an infestation of rats with glue traps or the vintage mouse traps. Slap some type of bait on the trap trigger and place the trap in an area of high traffic and wait for the rodents to trip it. However, in the world of Elder Tale to deal with an infestation of rats is a bit more difficult. Imagine those rats being around five feet tall, possibly more so. Then imagine them being bipedal and with rather well oiled motor skills. An on top of that they have weapons and armor. Needless to say, the adventurers would need something more than a glue trap.
"Maybe a large amount of peanut butter would help." He muttered as he noticed flickers of motion across the battle field. The first couple flickers were too fast for him to follow but after a third and fourth, in rather swift succession, he noticed the origin of the flickers. A young man with hair of bright grey stood far from the combat. With one hand wrapped around the center of his bow he used his free hand to grab his last arrow and knock it on his bow string. With practiced expertise he pulled the string back and let loose the arrow. His target had been the ratmen around the familiar male guardian. "Backup." He stated calmly, a sense of relief at the added dps to the group.
Myrddin's attention returned to the battlefield as he heard the faint sound of Saskia's voice. He saw the rosy haired guardian smile at the swashbuckler with the large sword. "Why does he have a blade that large?" He wondered absently while his mind rolled over ideas and strategies. Noticing the lowered health of the mounted guardian he heard the druid near him cast spell after spell. Myrddin noted the abilities and with a gesture, he opened his screens and quickly navigated to his spell list.
"Yo, druid boy, be careful with your spells. You might end up pulling the aggro off the tank." He said as the ash haired guardian let out a roar which drew in the attention of his nearest enemies. "As he makes me eat my words." Myrddin chuckled, a somewhat strange thing to hear among the roar and screeching of battle. The sight of the battle was nothing like the brilliantly choreographed chaos of Hollywood pictures. This was a real as they would proabably get to true combat. The gritty, ugly truth to combat. Myrddin had seen combat in the real world once and it was gruesome, and while this was a game, it felt almost just as real.
The enchanter watched the battle unfold. The unplanned actions and strategies that seemed to fall into place like pieces of a puzzle. He witnessed Saskia interrupt a ratman's attack with her own. A resonating CRACK! joined the shriek of metal on metal as the guardian's wooden spear shaft connected with his chin. Myrddin touched his chin with his right hand as he twitched with phantom pain. As the ratman ht the cave floor he saw a flurry of cotton candy hair turn to look at him. Noticing her mouth move he cup his hand around his ear to try and amplify his hearing. It didn't work as the surrounding battle noises drowned out whatever she was trying to say.
"Oh that's brilliant, try and make idle chit chat during a battle. The nerve of that woman." He huffed as he gesture with his hand out in front of his and the palm facing the cave ceiling. He wasn't really talking to anyone but when one speaks aloud normally those within ear shot expect there to be an intended target for the words. Unknown to other people, the enchanter lacks a reliable ability to make inner monologues."Can you believe- SASKIA, LOOK OUT!" Myrddin roared his hand snapping forward only to watch as his guildmaster reacted in time to block.
The speed of her reaction surprised the young man as she ignored the pain of the injuries she just recieved and drove her great shield into the body of [Ratman D] and cantered away from it. As Saskia disengaged from her target Myrddin noticed the claymore wielding man engage a target. In a quick series of movements the wielder of the claymore executed an attack that would have dealt possibly severe damage to the demihuman, unfortunately he missed and lopped off the rat's ear. Myrddin watched as the ratman manhandled the swashnuckler's blade and delivered a firm and forceful kick to his midsection. The impact set the young man back a few feet and into a nearby section of the wall. His blade had fallen from his grasp but he was soon on the move toward the target once more, scooping up his blade in the process.
The swashbuckler dragged his along the ratman's side, opening him up like a expert Walmart stocker, and shifted into a more defensive looking stance. Without a second thought Myrddin made a sound like a hum and snapped his fingers ending with his index finger extended toward the swashbuckler's ratman. A white beam of light shot forth from his finger tip and traversed the open area of the battlefield. The effect of the white beam would cause the target to spin immediately one hundred and eighty degrees. No damage would be caused by the spell but it's strategic purposes were possible limitless. The beam struck true and instantly spun the [Ratman B] in the opposite direction. "I hope he sees his opening to drop Van Gogh."

Post by Polack on Feb 6, 2015 14:41:00 GMT
Polack || ~ || As a supporting unit his job in this whole fight was quite boring. All he had to do was to fire one arrow after the arrow at the ratman that was bothering the male guardian the most. Since it was quite dark inside the cavern, he had to concentrate on what he was doing to not harm the guardian he was supposed to aid. That was also the reason why Polack could barely take any notice of what the rest of the party was doing. All he had to do was watch from time to time if the female guardian and the swashbuckler didn't loose a ratman that, considering his position might attack Polack, just as he had to watch out if nothing would attack the druid and enchanter, since in the current condition they were at, he would have to drag away the attention from them. Keeping all that in mind, he was highly concentrated. As soon as the male guardian used Anchor Howl, he thought a bit about the whole skill. Couldn't it be that it had a secondary effect? If he remembered right, the opponent would take damage, if it turned it's attention from the user of this skill. Taking that into account, took a quick look around and figured that he would have enough space to move if everything turned out wrong. He triggered the skill Spark Shot [skill], aimed at the [Ratman A] and fired. The attack will certainly cause more damage, since besides from the physical damage it also hits the opponent with lightning magic. The HP bar of the Ratman didn't look that good already anyway, the skill being surely yet another bother to it. Just as expected, the Ratman turned it's attention towards the young assassin and headed towards him, but that was something that Polack hoped it would do. And yet more damage was forced upon the Ratman. Taking a few steps to the right again, he triggered the skill Magnum Shot [skill], hoping that this would end the job. The force of the skill was able to knock the Ratman off it's feet. He inhaled deeply and sighed out as he let the projectile go on it's journey, hoping that he won't mess up this one. The Magnum Shot hit the [Ratman A] in the chest and knocked it off it's feet, making it bump right into [Ratman C]. Polack hoped he made enough damage at the first Ratman for the guardian to finish him off and that he made the other Ratman distracted enough from being hit by his own comrade that they have gained a few moments to damage him, before he can proceed to give damage to the guardian. Polack was reliefed that he didn't hit the guardian with Magnum Shot and he hoped the guardian would comprehend the chance that he has created. Whatever will happen now, Polack simply had to hope that his little idea didn't cause any trouble. Maybe now the first Ratman would be finished.

Hp:100 Mp:72"Yo, druid boy, be careful with your spells. You might end up pulling the aggro off the tank." The enchanter bellowed neck to him as the druid's attack chopped off a good bit of the beasts health bar. Smirking the druid gave the man a wink as the guardian had it covered with a perfectly timed taunt. However he had taken a good amount of damage as one of the weaker ratman had managed to abuse the casting time of Balore's skill. Pursing his lips, he held out from using a healing spell. Heart beat healing was perfect, but his health was too high to use it now plus if he used now the cool down wait would be too long, the guardian would just have to push through it for now. Taking note that 'cure bloom' had another cool down of five seconds, 'brilliant prism' another fifth teen seconds and 'willow spirit' a further seven seconds, that left the druid with several spells that he could use in the meantime. Tearing his eyes from the guardian he cast a quick look towards the other two to see much to his surprise that they seemed to work well as a team. The enchanter seemed to be doing his part to make sure that each attack that struck made twice the dent. Not only was the druid impressed but he was also quite jealous knowing that buff spells were not part of the druid's arsenal. Both the pink haired knight and the swashbuckler seemed to be tearing chucks of damage of the two beasts with Saskia taking the damage and drawing aggro leaving the beasts open to Klide's attacks. Still though they seemed to having trouble, when they attacked one, the second seemed to get in several strong attacks. Waiting for his skills to cool down was unreal, it was as if every second held significant meaning and in a way it did. As the enchanter focused on aiding the swashbuckler, Zyrune turned his attention back to Balore who was still fighting two monsters on his own, or was he. The higher beast was thrown backwards as an impressive bean of light shot forward and struck it head on. He guessed the assassin was responsible. As if knowing he needed to strike while the iron was hot so to speak, the assassin struck the beast again with an impressive skill. The two beasts tumbled over on another. The higher one [Rat A] didn't have much health left while the other once [Rat C] had next to full health. Inhaling a quick breath Zyrune flung himself forward making sure to extend his hand and staff towards the pair of struggling beasts. The druid saw his opening and just in time as willow spirit one more reached cool down. If he attacked he could knock off the remaining health of the weaker one, damage the remaining and restrict it before it had a chance to attack. "BALORE MOVE!" He shouted towards the white haired guardian. "FLAME BURST!" Two seconds later the area in front of his staff erupted in a cone of fire that swept through the cavern illuminating all around it, the burning heat swept over the two struggling beasts, the screams they let out as the fire scorched their skin caused the druid to wince slightly. Flame burst was an impressive skill and he was lucky to have chosen it. No only did it have a quick casting time and low cool down but it had an impressively long duration of ten seconds. As the fire faded, the druid panted, his mp had gone down somewhat. Looking up, he smirked as the strong beast [Rat A] Exploded into a cloud of anima, however the second looked like something from a horror movie, it's eyes glowed bright red. "SHOWTIME!" The area around Balore illuminated into a golden beam of light as if the man had suddenly taken it upon himself to perform a one man show. Most adventurers assumed that idol skills were only for their visual effects, however the druid knew otherwise. Anything that stood under the light had their aggro levels increased significantly. Once more the attention of the remaining beast [RAT C] was placed on the white haired tank. ▲ | The sound of battle raged all around him and consumed him. Even his own thoughts seemed to be drowned out by the clash of steel and explosions of magic around him. At first when he came to this world he was afraid of this- the noise was overwhelming. Now it sort of felt like home which was probably sad for anyone to be able to say. When the silence became more frightening than the sounds of combat- that was the moment he realized he was losing himself.
Just as he was about to raise his axe to fight the ratman before him it dropped dead. The support fighters were definitely doing their job as he could see their health dropping across the field. The ratmen were probably the least of the challenges they faced today however. In every quest there was always that one big baddie that snuck up on you and he was waiting for it.
His golden eyes shifted to the next unfortunate ratman who was next to him. There was no escape for this one as he took a few steps forward. Then he heard his name being called, saw the flash of red and tried to move out of the way. Part of the flames washed over him however as he moved; the penalties of heavy armor unfortunately. His health dropped by another ten percent.
Balore growled, clearly annoyed, as two seconds was not enough time for someone of his size to move. But instead of pointing fingers or bothering with that nonsense he pressed on, searching for the next thing to kill. His mind was consumed with fury and his stength stat was maxed out for his level which put him in an advantageous position.
Then his eyes locked with the ratman who was recovering from being smashed into by his comrade. There was a wicked smirk on his face as he hefted his axe and prepared for what he did best. Lurching forward, Balore swung with all of his might and activated [Sword Rain Flurry]. A slash, a thrust with the spear on top of his axe, another chop and he spun himself around for one final cross chop. The monster would lose fourty percent of it's health in just that one skill due to the damage of his axe.
Just for good measure he raised the axe over his head once more for another blow designed to increase threat. Activating his [Hammer Beat] he growled fiercly before smashing the weapon down on the ratmans head. On top of dealing a fair bit of damage the monster became disoriented, definitely enough for the others to finish him off. With that he spun his axe upside down and smashed the tip into the ground and leaned against it.
The rest of the battle was going fine without his help.

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
In response to Klide’s question, Saskia chuckled and went on a bout chattering during the midst of combat. The wonders of the female mind. While not compartmentalized like most male thought processes, she was easily capable of both speech and combat analysis as the roamed the skirmish lines.
“He’s picking up the shift at the Vylbrand Academy. Keeping the place running smooth while I’m gone. Pretty sure he’s leading the cadets on an expedition to the Isles of thule. “ Saskia replied
She was thoroughly happy to receive the assistance from his sharp blade as she sliced through the foes, making an effective shield-brother on the field with his claymore.
“I thought Swashbucklers were more of a ‘weapon in each hand’ build?” She inquired as she moved away from the foreshadowment of the eerie looking spider webs.
She saw the [Ratmen A] retract his head back at the bitter recoil of being shot in the spine and effectively electrocuted by their arrow-flinging archer. It was a nice supplement to their skills as assassins naturally had a higher damage ability which compensated for his lack in level. As long as he didn’t get too severely damaged, things would have gone smooth.
What shocked Saskia however, was the torrent of flames that came down the hall. Was there a dragon in this cave!?! Saskia feared the worst as it was upon more than one occasion that she got tricked into believe a subtle quest to go ‘clear out a cave of goblins’ was actually a ploy setup to help the people clear dragon nests. For Saskia that had a big ‘DO NOT WANT!’ sign written all over it.
Once she realized that the source of the flames came from the healer of the group, she was a bit surprised, not knowing the full nature of how druid’s worked or that they could even command the greater elements.
She noticed in her party menu that his mana was decreasing rather rapidly so she knew they had to be quick. She was riding her horse back into the fray, when she saw a large illumination of light appear over Balore. Suddenly, causing him to be the main attraction. She noticed that in the uproar of the battle the Guardian was able to make quick work of one of the ratmen, thus lowering his troubles to only dealing with one rather than two.
They were now starting to effectively thin out their numbers.
Saskia turned her attention to the [Ratmen A] that Klide had just finished slamming into the ground and that Polack had sent to shock city as she came up charging from behind like an assassin on horseback towards her foe with a trained eye locked on her target. However, it seemed that [Ratmen B] didn’t appreaciate being slammed into a way from earlier to much and he raised his halberd high to try as slash across the girls chest and knock her off her horse.
Saskia however, had a few bags of tricks up her sleeves as she specialized in defense and counter attacks. She slid her polearm against his halberd as they effectively collided once she used her [Parry] ability. As the metal of her long spear scraped against the metal of his halberd, the Ratmen tugged the hook of the axe around the spear, and though he was unable to drag the pink haired rider down, he was able to relinquish her of her Long spear as it fell from her hands. Leaving her with only her shield.
Still, she pressed gallantly onward as that wouldn’t deter her from her assassination mission. As she ran up alongside the electrocuted Ratmen, she swung her free arm as if she were going to hit it with a might right hook, but instead of a fist, a blade materialized in her hands as she activated her [Quick-Swap] ability to ascertain her stratford arms steel sword. With a stunning display of visual animations, she activated her [Sword Rain Flurry] ability, which effectively striked the rat six times in diagonal fashions, slashing three “X”’s across his body before he shattered into bursts of anima shards.
Unfortunately, though her action had effectively dispatched the rodent, she was locked in her animation, and could not see the violent swing from behind as the cunning Ratmen, this time, not only did he choose to bring her down, but also her horse as he sunk his halberd into the horses hind hoof, and snatched his weapon back, effectively tripping the horse, and causing Saskia to fall of and take fall damage as she tumbled around the dirt.
“Agh....sh...shit....She groaned as her pink hair was now caked in brown sand. As she looked up, it could be seen that her face was plastered in dirt and debris as she looked like a sand monster.

Klide smiled when he heard Saskia's reply. "Bailin is a teacher?" He listened on as she spoke again. “I thought Swashbucklers were more of a ‘weapon in each hand’ build?” Klide chuckled. "Normally you would be absolutely correct, but firstly, I am not a normal Swashbuckler, and secondly, I simply took it upon myself to be good with a giant two handed sword as well. I figured it would make more sense when dealing with the beefier enemies. Though these enemies are not exactly what I would call beefy. Still, It is good practice I suppose." Klide was still fighting Ratman B as he spoke. However, his attention was soon turned to Ratman D when Saskia attacked Ratman B. Ratman D seemed to think she was fair game, and got into a bit of a tussle with her. Which, unfortunately ended with her sprawled out in the dirt. Klide dropped his sword, letting it vanish into his inventory, and the large black sheath disappeared with it. replacing the two handed sword, was a pair of brand new Katanas. Both were far longer than his old ones, and both were also much darker than his original ones. These swords were both black bladed, and had fullers on either side of the blade, so they were lighter than they looked. Their black sheaths adorned his hips, and the two blades glinted in the low-light of the cave. Klide began to run towards ratman D, then he jumped up, and then instantaneously activated his skill [Fold Step]. He was launched forward in the air, and then he activated his second skill [Mirage Dealer]. He swung his swords in a large X shaped slash, and then was send a meter forward, directly behind the injured ratman. It was then that Klide activated the third skill in his little chain. He activated [Shuffle Windmill] Thankful that Saskia was on the ground, and out of the way of the spinning swords and both of them hit ratman D four times. The ratman bled from both sides as he stumbled. He was still alive, but just barely. Klide stabbed one of his swords into ratman D's arm, and offered a hand to Saskia and smiled as he said "Need a hand?". If she took it, he would help her up, and then pull his sword from the ratman D's arm. If she did not take it, he would simple retrieve his sword. Either way, once he pulled the sword back out, he swung himself around in an arc, and used an artificial [Shuffle Windmill] copying the moves rotations, but with more control over his body, and without using any mana, but only spinning once in his move. Both of his blades slit up the chin of the downed ratman D, and he fell to the ground, hissing what must have been a very extensive line of ratman swears, and pleading profusely from all sides. Klide left the rest of ratman D to the others as he wiped the blood from his two blades, and guided them back into their respective sheaths. If anyone needed his help, he would be there. Enchanter - Scribe - Apprentice _____________________________________________
The chaotic beauty of battle raged on before Myrddin’s eyes. Unlike in the movies how battles seem to take minutes or hours, the violent scene was barely at thirty seconds since he showed up. The combatants of the adventuring party were making short work of the Ratmen, using multiple abilities and pairing up with another adventurer and somehow linking their attacks without hours of well-rehearsed battles. Or so the enchanter thought as a jet of scarlet flame scorched the cavern floor as it made its way to its designated target. The demihuman, [Ratman A], was enveloped in a thermal robe of pain. The beast let out a horrifying scream as its skin bubbled and tightened. Due to his distance from the creature Myrddin could make out the silhouette in the flames that well and soon its screams abruptly ceased as rheumy orbs of anima floated to the top of the cavern.
The half-alv’s face twisted in disgust as the smell of burned and charred flesh lingered. A second Ratman, apparently [Ratman C] by the little added character at the end of its name, had been too close to its flame wrapped brother and had fallen victim to the same flame that claimed Alpha. Charlie, however, was in better graces with Lady Luck as the tongues of flames merely lapped at its skin but its health didn’t drop nearly as much as Myrddin had hoped. The dam of rage within Charlie burst as its beady eyes landed on the druid for a moment, the scarlet light of the fire paled in comparison to the hell in those spheres. Myrddin felt his skin erupt with gooseflesh. Gripping his staff a slight bit tighter he glanced over to the Druid as he let out a shout. A cone of light, as if from a stag spot light, had illuminated the silver haired guardian, Balore, and the area immediately around him. The [Showtime] ability was an idol ability, though not one Myrddin had ever seen in person. He didn’t know too many higher leveled idols.
With Balore being trust into the spotlight, [Ratman C] turned his hell fire gaze to him and their dance of death commenced. In a few short moments Balore had cleaved a heavy portion of the Ratman’s health and stood back, the spear tip of his ax head buried in the cavern floor. “What is he- Hey! Don’t just stand back and wait!” Myrddin exclaimed, his voice carrying across the battlefield.”Yeah that’s brilliant, don’t finish the bastard.” He complained to himself as his eyes flickered to his cooldown counters. According to the counter, [Inversion] was up and ready once again, but [Keen Edge] still had forty-eight seconds remaining. Myrddin wasn’t worried about [Keen Edge] though, it was already in play and wouldn’t need to be used again unless they died or unequipped their weapons.
As he the ideas ran across his mind he noticed a sudden shimmer of light from over in Saskia’s direction. Her large spear was no longer in her hands, in its place was the trade mark guardian weapons, the shield and sword. Or sword and board as Sarah would say. Unfortunately though, the rosy haired guardian had swapped to another weapon, meaning she no longer had the extra damage effects of [Keen Edge]. However, as Myrddin came to see for himself, the mounted guardian didn’t seem to need it as she tore the hostile demihuman asunder with a sort of elegant lethality. As the Pepto-Bismol guardian was finishing her attack animations, the Deathsteed Icarus let out a whinny pain as [Ratman D] had moved along its flank and sank the crude halberd blade into Icarus’ back hoof. With a jerking motion the bipedal beast ripped its weapon free from the horse’s limb, causing it to lose balance and topple to the ground.
Myrddin didn’t like Icarus, he wasn’t a horse rider, he hadn’t ever been around horses much to begin with but due to the encounter he had with a Masked Entity, his dislike for horses turned into possible loathing. However, while he disliked the deathsteed, he did belong to his friend and that attack caused Saskia to get hurt. Just as he flung his arm out toward the violent rodent the claymore wielding swashbuckler danced in and hacked at it, executing a series of skills as he went. And finally as the beast was near death the swashbuckler stepped back. Myrddin felt his eye twitch. “[Astral Bind]!” He howled, as his will coursed through the air summoned ghostly violet chains to snake up from the ground and wrap around {Ratman D] limbs, restricting its movements should it try to go farther than a meter. “What the hell are these guys waiting for? Permission for the kill? ” He growled to himself as he spun to look at the Ratman focused on Balore. With his index finger extended toward [Ratman C] he shaped his thumb into the hammer of a gun. He focused his will and prepared the spell [Inversion] for when Rat decided to charge at the Guardian again or run.

Polack || ~ || Polack watched the events in front of him carefully. He lifted up his eyebrow as the druid caused a burst out of flame even before the guardian fully managed to flee from the scene. Though this kind of sacrifice was questionable, he couldn't complain after all, since the male's HP didn't drop that bad, while the first Ratman was finished off, finally. Polack allowed himself to take a look at the next guardian, who seemed to have a little bit of more trouble together with the swashbuckler. Well, Polack had to admit that he didn't regard a fight on horse suitable for a cavern, but he decided not to question the people's decision. His attention back to the male guardian he was currently supporting, he saw a confused Ratman standing a bit away from the male, that seemed to lean against his axe. Since this was more or less an international sign for 'you do the job now', the young assassin decided to finish that Ratman off. Taking into account, that the monster had not much to say with it's 38% HP and considering that Polack had a 10% bonus for marksmanship and an additional 10% bonus since his opponent was a beast, he was pretty much sure, that despite the level difference (which wasn't even that big), he would finish off that rat head in about four arrows. Polack decided to finish this quick and activated his skill Rapid Shot [skill] with which he could shoot two arrows twice as fast, after the skill knocking on two arrows at once immediately after the skill, taking a split second to aim and shoot, giving the [Ratman C] the finishing blow. Polack turned his attention back to the female guard and the swashbuckler, hoping he could help somehow, but due to the whole chaos he decided that he simply couldn't risk to fire an arrow. All their movements were unpredictable and it was impossible to tell when they would suddenly run into an arrow of his by accident, because the wanted to make a fancy move. Figuring that there would be nothing to do for him, Polack squat down and watched the show. It was only a few seconds later when Polack got suspicious of a sound from beyond the darkness. Listening carefully he didn't even realize that he stood up again. For a few seconds he concentrated on nothing but what was behind the Ratman in the darkness. Silence? No, this didn't sound like silence, though it was hard to distinguish because of the ruckus the still three fighting ones were causing. Giving his best to concentrate, Polack could swear he was hearing the clickering sound of many thin legs against stone. Just to be sure, Polack activated his skill Tongue of Nature [skill], just in care he would hear something more. The first thing he could hear were a few rather eccentric swears from the Ratman that he did not completely understand and that not because of the level difference. But more in the background... " Food." " Move." " Faster." " Sound from here." " Kill." Polack understood only single words, which was probably because of the difference in level and the lack of alignment of Assassins to those things in general. It seemed like Polack would have to force himself to say something after all, he couldn't simply pretend that there was nothing. " Something. Found. Us." The young male warned loud with his aweful accent and each word seperate, giving his best to at least somehow manage the pronounciation. There was no sense to be silent anyway, they knew that they were there. His bow ready for whatever was approaching he stared at the darkness. It seemed to Polack like ages before he finally saw what it was. Spiders, one after the other they crawled out of the darkness, five in total. Polack looked at their stats, those were Cavern Spiders, their level were 21, 24, 23, 25 and 25. The three with the highest level stopped for a moment as they suddenly seemed to shake with their whole body, twisting it like in some kind of strange pain. It took the young male a while to realize that they were laying eggs, each one of them one, afterwards following the other two spiders to approach the party. Polack had no idea how they were supposed to proceed against the five spiders, plus he worried about what would come out of those three eggs that seemed to be shaking already in a rather worrying way. He didn't want to be in the skin of the persons making the plans here, because Polack already knew that this was going to become a mess.

"Damn it." The guardian had been too slow possibly due to his armor or Zyrune had been too fast on the draw, either way Balore's health was down to a sharp 75% with Saskia the other guardian not far behind him with 79%. Damn these rat things sure knew where to hit and when. However much to the druid's dismay the guardian seemed to attack and then stop. The druid's brow furrowed as he took in the sight before him, was he taking a break or was he more hurt than his hp let on? A quick scan of the interface assured the druid that the guardian hadn't been affected by any debuffs, he just stood there.
Despite his attacks now winding down, the druid hesitated in for a moment. Up until now the enchanter had yet to attack but he seemed to be just as frustrated with Balore's actions as he was, however he seemed intent on helping Saskia and Klide as he cast a binding spell on one of the rat men. The half-alv couldn't help but smirk at the dark skinned man's words. Raising his staff once more, he shook his head towards Balore in disapproval, what kind of guardian stops half way through a fight. Holing his staff outwards, it lit up in an immense light. "Brilliant Prism." The druid cast as a beam of light struck the rat beast, due to Zyrune's level difference, it was defeated.
However Polack as if reading the Myrddin's thoughts gave the finishing blow to the last remaining Rat man. An uneasy blanket of silence crept over the panting and sore adventurers as they stood for a moment. Polack seemed to concentrate for a moment, but the druid just gave a sigh of relief. He couldn't help but wonder if perhaps the gave might have been a bit too much to take on. As Polack warned them of something headed their way, the pink haired druid only had a second to turn towards the opening of the gave to see the guide standing there with a large sack in hand. Tossing towards enchanter's directed he backed away.
"You guys seem to have this under control, but I have orders and I'm not getting paid unless they are followed through." As he spoke the man continued to back away until he stood somewhat bathed in the light of the sun. "This is only way to make sure you clear out this cavern." He shook his head again. "Besides you guys are immortal, even if you die, you'll be fine." He shrugged before he pressed something in his hand.
A few moments of silence and then it happened, a flash of light and then a whole lot of noise. The mouth of the cave erupted in a series of bright flashes before it collapsed in on itself, dust and rubble erupted from the area. As if the mountain itself had come alive and started to move, the cave shook beneath them until finally a a cloud of dust and rubble flew towards the group, enveloping them in darkness. Luckily the enchanter and himself who had been at the back of the group barely managed to avoid being flattened by the rubble. Letting out a choking cough barely able to breath now that a cloud of smoke had filled the cave, the druid's heart raced as they were left in the dim glow of the magic light he had cast.
Anything that had been asleep within the cave would certainly have awoken, but he doubted that the thing Polack had mentioned would still have approached them. No the noise would have scared them off for now. A feeling of dread swept over the adventurer as realized that unless they wanted to spend the next wile digging through rubble, the only way out was through the dark cavern. Swiping at the dust around him, he barely noticed the bag the lander had flung at the group before sealing them inside. Inside sat enough health and mana potions to allow two each. As a slow uneasy breath escaped his lips, he swiped once more at the dust. His heartbeat sped up, he couldn't believe his luck. Normally the druid wasn't claustrophobic but it was impossible not to feel despair when you are trapped in a dark cavern with god knows what waiting around for you to slip up, waiting to attack.
He breathed in and out once more, trying his best to calm down as his heart pounded against his chest. The only way out was to either die or survive whatever lay in what further in side and that did not bode well with the druid who was clearly starting to panic. "Please tell me someone has a plan?" He asked as he struggled to catch his breath as panic started to overwhelm the normally calm druid.
