Anna sat down on a park bench to collect her thoughts. This was certainly not what she expected when logging in to her first MMORPG; she looked down at herself and blushed, reaffirming that, yes, she was wearing the outfit she had selected for Piper at character creation, one that suited Piper's persona well but would have been an impossibility for Anna.
"OK, so..." Anna began to think, rubbing her temples together. "It seems I have been transported into the world of Elder Tale. My appearance has been modified to match the character I built, the city has a fantasy atmosphere, and the people around me with more experience in the game seem to recognize the layout as what they remember from playing. What do I think about this?" Anna thought that she should probably be panicking about such a bizarre and unexpected phenomenon, and yet she felt surprisingly calm about all of this. Anna had joined Elder Tale in order to escape from a life that she had been dissatisfied with; she wanted to stop being Anna for a while and become Piper, and become Piper she did.
And so, Piper stood up from her bench and put her hands to her hips, sporting a wide grin on her face. She had no idea how long this would last, but she intended to enjoy it while it did; here, she was no longer the timid Anna, more shadow than woman. From now on she would be Piper! She would be exciting, the life of the party, someone people wanted to be around. Piper had been blessed with an opportunity to remake her image of herself, and she fully intended to take advantage of it.
"ALL RIGHT!" Piper said, a bit too loudly. Upon realizing this, she stammered out, "I have no idea what I'm doing..."
