| WEEGEE HP: 100% MP: 100% | "After all you put me through, you'd think that I'd despise you. But in the end, I wanna thank you. Cause you made me that much STRONGER." |
A lone sigh could be heard from the ruined outskirts of 'London' as a single man walked alone through the drifting dust. His brown hair shifted slightly as the single lock of hair perched on top of his head waved slightly side to side. The early morning sun rose over the horizon, bathing the scenery in a warm orange glow. A few young pigs could be seen on the edge of the nearby grassland, shuffling their snouts through the green grass as they were guarded by their mothers. It was a beautiful sight, but something was slightly wrong.
His fist slammed into the closest wall as he yelled to the top of his lungs. It was the fifth day of the game and he still hadn't found her. Weegee slumped against the wall, burying his head into his knees as he breathed heavily. It felt good to let some of the emotion out. He had been dragged around a lot in the last few days, thanks to his newly acquired friends. He stared listlessly at blue pebble on the ground as he thought over his predicament. He had no real idea where to look, or even what she looked like or was named in this world. He couldn't go around simply asking random people for their real name, he would seem like a real creep from doing so. Well, that wasn't the real reason, as in truth, he was simply too terrified of being caught in a large crowd.
He felt his anger surge again as he lifted his fist, before he simply just dropped it, a soft, female voice echoing through his mind. 'Hey now Luigi, don't fret.' The voice seemed like it was someone who would have been running thrir hands through his hair, trying to sooth him as they spoke. 'You know we'll find her, its just a matter of time.' He placed his hand back in his lap as he turned his head towards the multi-colored sky. 'I sure hope so.' OOC NOTES: Word Count: 335.

✿ Day five and counting. Despite the dire circumstances she and her fellow Elder Tale players now found themselves in, Arina was rather optimistic about the whole thing. Being trapped within a game she adored wasn't the worst thing that could happen to her, in fact she was beginning to find that it could be quite fun. Living in a world where adventure was everywhere and death was nonexistent; it was a dream come true for an avid gamer and adventurer such as herself. And so, within the past 5 days, she had become quite accustomed to her new identity and her new life inside the world of Elder Tale. There was only one problem: her best friend was nowhere to be found. Arina and her friend started this game together, but lost each other among the chaos. And now after five days, she still could find no way to get in contact with him. She only hoped that he was doing alright. As for herself, Arina had not yet left the starting area of London. She would tell herself it was only to wait for the crowds to thin in order to have a better chance of finding her friend. But the truth was, she wouldn't have lasted 10 seconds out on her own. This character was built for support, not front line battle. Therefore, she was on the hunt for party members again today, preferably someone who wouldn't mind aiding her in her quest and wouldn't just drop her off in the next town. Hopping on top of one of the ruined buildings nearby, she scanned the area for anyone who might be in need of her services, and immediately spotted an individual who seemed distressed. He took out his anger on a nearby wall before slumping against it and looking rather defeated, a gesture that clearly told Arina this man was in need of assistance. Immediately, she climbed down from the building and made her way over to the man, coming to a stop right in front of him. "Hey there. You look like a guy with a lot of troubles." She said to him, flashing a cheerful smile. "But fixing troubles is what I do! So talk to me, chum, why so glum?" tag: Weegee ▪ words: 374 ▪ ooc: bloop~ |

I GET ALONG WITH THE VOICES INSIDE OF MY HEAD
Just his luck, someone had either heard him or saw him and was now to be found right in front of him during one of his weaker moments. Like always he put up a brave face in front of people, not wishing to trouble them with his issues, but here she asked him about why he looked so glum. He stared at her with what most would assume was a blank face before he spoke. "Do I? Ah, terribly sorry then to have bothered you, but I doubt you'd have the time to worry with my problems. The most pressing is the need to find something rather precious to me, that I lost when I started this game. It's my own issue however, and I have yet to truly trouble anyone with the details or asking of assistance." He would rise to his feet before giving a bow to the female that had come into his small area. "Though I do thank you for your, interest in my endeavors. It is, heartwarming."
If she would continue to ask him about them, he would cave in after a few times and look at her with blank eyes. "Alright, I will happily accept your help in my quest, though I doubt we will be successful." His voice turned slightly downcast, and seemed almost as if someone else had been talking through his body. "You just can't win against the odds, when you aren't even sure of what you're looking for, when you don't know its name or what it even looks like, how can you find it? Rely on that gut feeling of instinct? That's just some old wive's tale you know. I'm never going to find what I'm after." He would begin walking off towards the nearby forest with his new party member, sending her a Party Invite with a defeated wave of his hands.
However, if she did not continue to ask about his problems, he would simply walk off towards the forest with his head looking from side to side as he searched. Either way, she may notice that he would make unusually long looks towards players, especially the female ones.

✿ Her new acquaintance rejected her offer at first, but in a rather roundabout way. He implied that she shouldn't bother with his problems, as they were only his to bear, but Arina wasn't the type to think that. More than a few times before, she'd stuck her nose in someone else's business simply because she cared, and this time was no different. Besides, his problems seemed rather similar to hers, and two heads were better than one when it came to solving problems. So to his reply, she straightened herself up and looked at him a bit more seriously, but still wearing a soft smile. "What a coincidence, I'm looking for something too. So how about we help each other out, huh? I can't handle what's out there by myself, but I can heal. And you seem like a pretty tough fighter so I think we'd make a good team!" She grinned, waiting for his response, and finally he caved in. On the inside, Arina was cheering. Finally she was getting somewhere! But this poor guy seemed really solemn and pessimistic. Whatever he lost must have been really important to him, and she understood. What she lost was important to her as well, but she knew that letting her problems get her down wouldn't solve anything. It might take a while, but she vowed to help this guy cheer up. "Hey come on, don't say that. With the two of us working together, I bet we can find what both of us are looking for!" She assured him with a swift pat to his shoulder before following him towards the forest. Arina would then accept his party invite before flashing him another smile and extending her hand for a shake. "I'm Austrina. Glad to be working with you, partner."tag: Weegee ▪ words: 299 ▪ ooc: bloop~ |

I GET ALONG WITH THE VOICES INSIDE OF MY HEAD
"You're a healer, huh? That's a really helpful ability, one I do indeed lack as a Monk. Kind of have to keep on my toes to avoid damage unlike the other fighter classes. But hey, I've always loved the idea of being a speedy tank. Always sounded like a fun oxymoron"
Weegee shrugged off the lingering effect of Kevin's influence as he listened to her talk. He wasn't the only one who was looking for something important in this world, a fact he had known but had never really noticed to be true until now. With a sigh, he ran his hands through his hair as he turned to look at her. "Hopefully we will, I've just been looking for, well, much longer than I expected. Patience is a virtue they say, but worry can kill a man or mouse just the same." He gave a slight chuckle as the female introduced herself with a pat and a party invite. He accepted it as he shook her hand and gave his own name in return.
"You can call me Weegee. Very nice to meet you as well Austrina, I do hope this all works out for the best." And with that, he turned once more and headed off towards the large group of people that were practicing on the horde of boars nearest to the main town of London. As he approached them, he would start to waver at the edge of the crowd, getting more anxious by the second as he noticed just how many people were there. Beads of sweat began to form on his brow as he stood just twenty feet away from the crowds, his body unable to move as his mind literally raced from anxiety. Though, on the outside, it would seem as though nothing more was wrong with him than he was just sweating slightly more than normal. That is, until his eyes went wide and he clutched his chest. he was having a major anxiety attack, one much the same as the one he had when he first joined the game and found himself surrounded by the hundred of people in his area. His breath became ragged and shallow as he fell to his knees, his body desperately trying to turn away from the crowd as he tried to catch his breath. He opened his inventory as quickly as he could, looking for that sack he had come across some time ago. "C-Can't... breathe..."

✿ So he was a Monk? Interesting choice. Arina never felt drawn to the close ranged classes in a game. She instead would go for the more ranged or support based classes. Monk was especially tricky since it was pretty much fighting unarmed. But judging by how hard he'd punched that wall a few minutes ago, this guy was stronger than he looked, and probably pretty speedy. Besides that, a Monk would most likely need a lot of healing from time to time so he made the perfect partner for Arina! She smiled, amazed by her own luck and glad to finally have some company. "Weegee", huh? Kind of a strange name but he seemed a little strange himself, in a good way. Arina wasn't exactly all that "normal" herself, so it never bothered her to hang around with people who were outcasts or even just a little on the weird side. As they left the town, Arina kept her eyes peeled for any mobs they could get some practice on. At the moment, her spear made a great walking stick but she wasn't against the idea of skewering a few helpless animals for experience. CG animals that is. She's a gamer, not a murderer. But unfortunately for her, the herd of boars they happened upon was already being torn apart by a huge group of people. It seemed that even after 5 days had passed, there were still a lot of people just now getting their adventure started. And as they drew closer to the crowd, it was easy to see that there was no room for them here. "Well it looks like this area is off limits," She sighed. "With so many people here, there's no way we'll- W-Woah!" Arina's sentence was cut short as her partner suddenly fell to his knees. Something was very obviously wrong with him, as he was clutching his chest seemingly in pain. Was he having a heart attack!? Could her skills even heal a heart attack!? Wait, before that, was it even possible to have a heart attack inside a game!? No, wait, this was something different. She'd seen something like this before. A friend of hers had a panic attack just like this in front of her one day, but it was a long time ago, before she'd even entered this game. At the time, she'd had no idea what to do and ended up in a panic herself while her friend sat there suffering, breathing into a paper bag to try and calm himself down. After that, Arina was so angry at herself for being so useless that she went online and researched what to do should the event happen again, and now it was time to put what she learned to the test. Though she never imagined she'd have to do this while playing a game. First thing's first, she had to get him somewhere quieter. Especially since the crowd had now begun to stop and stare at the young man now on the ground. That would surely not help the situation at all. "Excuse me, coming through!" She shouted to the crowd, grasping Weegee by the arm and helping him to his feet. Hopefully by now he'd managed to dig that sack out of his inventory because as soon as she had him on his feet, Arina would move as fast as she could away from the crowd with him in tow. It mattered not where they ended up afterwards as long as it was quiet and had no people around. There, she could hopefully get him to calm down. tag: Weegee ▪ words: 600 ▪ ooc: WAY OVERDUE I'M SORRY! ;A; |

I GET ALONG WITH THE VOICES INSIDE OF MY HEAD
Weegee had just found the sack when he felt his arm being pulled as staring eyes focused on him. Soon after, he found himself lying against a tree, safely tucked away from the prying eyes as he clasped the bag over his face. A few minutes of silence would pass as his ragged breathing slowly calmed down, before he laid back against the rock with a sigh. "Thanks Austrina." Looking around slowly, he tried to figure out where they were, while he let his body have a breather. "So, where did we get dragged off to because of my stupid body? Shame the game didn't make us all perfectly healthy, you know?" He closed his eyes while his fox-ears twitched to catch the quiet sounds around them.
"I always figured this damn condition wouldn't follow me, but I guess I was wrong. Oh well, doesn't beat getting impaled." He opened his eyes as he peered at Austrina. "Pain followed us into the game too, sadly. Everything is real, but, hey. At least we respawn after death. Still don't say anyone should do it. It hurts like hell, and it makes you extremely queasy. Or, well, it did me." With a final sigh, he rose to his feet before looking around and spotting a small cluster of Pittered Boars. "Hey, those look like good practice. My friend wasn't in that group, thankfully, of course, they'd probably be either by herself or with a small group of people. Heck, maybe they aren't looking for me at all." He quietly started walking over to the boars as he mumbled to himself. "I just, really hope they're safe."
Rolling his shoulders as he began to prepare for combat, he looked over his shoulder at Austrina with a smile. "You ready to go into battle? It's about nine available here, probably with some low respawn times. I wouldn't mind grinding a level or two while we talk or something. Shouldn't travel too far with complete strangers, right? Now, one thing though, if you've got a plan, I'd be happy to follow it, just direct me around as you like for now."

✿ It had been a while since she'd gotten that much exercise, and now Arina found herself panting for breath right alongside her partner, who seemed to be calming down. Leaning against her spear for support, she took a look around the area they'd ended up in. It couldn't have been too far from where they just were, but it was certainly quieter and had no one around. Except the animals of course. "N-Not a problem. Always happy to help." She gave him a somewhat weak salute, still a bit shaken. That was a scary experience, just as it was the last time something similar happened, but at least this time she was able to do something about it. "I don't think we're that far away from where we just were. But at least it's less crowded here." She wondered for a moment what kind of "condition" he was talking about. Anxiety attacks? Anxiety is a mental problem so wouldn't that be a natural thing to follow you inside a game? For example, a person paralyzed from the waist down would suddenly be able to walk inside the game world, but someone with ADD would still feel the effects even in game because his brain works the same. As Arina went on to ponder the physics of video games inside her own mind, Weegee mentioned being impaled and she grimaced. "I-Impaled? That's...gruesome. E-Even if we respawn, I would never want to experience the pain of a death like that." She shuddered, and then came to a realization. If the pain of death still existed inside the game, then the blood and gore that went along with most injuries probably did too. Uh-oh, she was starting to feel sick just thinking about it. Arina then prayed from the bottom of her heart that she would never see blood during her time as a healer, or else her party was as good as doomed. But moving on to nicer things, there happened to be a small herd of boars nearby, just for them! Their own private grinding ground! Arina's luck must have been working for her again. Using her spear as leverage to hoist her up, Arina stood on her feet, then casually kicked her spear up out of the ground before catching it in one hand. She'd practiced a lot while still in town, but never on actual mobs. This would be a good opportunity. "Aw don't say that, I'm sure they're trying to find you too. Just gotta have a little faith!" She paused to twirl her weapon in one hand. "But for now, a grind sounds good. And I wouldn't call us strangers. I mean, I saved your butt once already so I think that counts as a sign of friendship." A wink to go with her lighthearted joke. "As for my plan, I think it's pretty much the same as yours. I'm looking for someone too, so my only plan was to hit up all of the towns where people gather." It may not have been the surest plan, but it would be easier than searching every nook and cranny of the world looking for him. By thoroughly searching each town, they would have a pretty good chance of finding who they were looking for. After all, even with her friend's terrible fear of crowds, she figured he would have to go back to town for supplies sometime. That fear of his made her especially worried though. Hopefully he was getting on okay. "So! About these boars. To each their own, or...?"tag: Weegee ▪ words: 594 ▪ ooc: Captain oblivious reporting in |
