Conchobar let out a sigh of relief, though he would admit something seemed strange with the way he was acting. The tone of voice was extremely off putting, even for someone genuinely seeking forgiveness. This just... felt wrong. And he would discover it before he could act. "Traitor!" He would shout at him, his eyes shifting to a yellowish tint, much like is common for the Wolf hair race. He was rooted in place, but that didn't mean he was going to do nothing. He drew his longsword, as he span it in mid air. The skill had a duration of 5 seconds. It only took four to apply flames to his blade. It also took five seconds for him to charge up his miasma bullet, at least, to full power. This means the skill would fire the same time the chains ran out of duration. But, now he had his cooldowns to deal with, and Aegis didn't. That was his greatest advantage with the spellsword build. Holding up his shield, the black miasma would slam against it. Being a sorcerer also meant he had a fairly good magic defense. Not as good as most, since he is wearing physical defense armor, instead of magic defense armor, but it would be enough to mitigate a fair amount. Chains broken and struck by the bullet, he charged forward with his shield and flaming sword.

Looking over the skill lists, he remembered a big problem most mages had to deal with was that they needed to be still in order to cast their spells. This was a common game mechanic because that prevented mages from kiting with extremely powerful spells, and forced there to be a team composition in which there were people to defend the mages. That was why the two of them fighting together was so effective, because they were working together. But now, he actually had the greater playing field, because the Heratic had two options. He could draw his blade, and fight him in melee combat, where neither would get free hits, or he could go back to casting his spells. If he chose melee combat, then Conchobar's armor and shield would mitigate the majority of the damage, and his own augmented attacks would overpower him. If he went to focus on his damaging spells, he would be rooted in place for every casting, meaning that he would easily get one or two free hits in there. The only solid combination that he had was the shackles and bullet, and he had to time it really well if he wanted to hit him with it, otherwise he could dodge next time.

At the moment, his berserker skill wouldn't have triggered. He had more than enough HP, but he could already feel the bloodlust, his heart pumping. Before, he had failed to control himself, but now, he wanted it. He wanted to kill this man for betraying him. Continuing his charge, but not to the point that he would be so easily evaded like a bull, he would close the distance and began slashing at him, from every angle. He didn't even need a firm hit on him, light scratches would be enough to cause the flame damage effect. And once it started, he knew it would tick away at him. He would not let him relent because, unlike the Heratic, He didn't have cooldowns, or more accurately, relevant ones. Inferno strike had a cooldown of 60 seconds, which sounded like a lot, and in truth, it was. There was no 'spamming' it because of the cooldown. But the thing that made it impressive was the duration. he had three hundred seconds of Inferno Strike. And given that it was his only skill, the other two being passives that were already paying for themselves, he also didn't have to worry about mana costs either. It was physically impossible for him to run out of mana on a solo mission like this. This meant that the Heratic had to worry about the cooldowns of his skills, and managing his mana. Neither of those things were something he had to do.

Really, it boiled down to the simple fact that, typically, mages had a weak early game, in exchange for a colossal late game. Warriors and brawlers were directly inverse. A warriors early game is rabid, while paling in comparison to what mages can typically do. Granted, Elder Tale did a good job breaking that mold, but the remnants were still there. He had the advantage of this fight, so long as he played it properly. He wouldn't let the mage get away. He would strike him over and over again, having no worry for needing to pace himself or his skills. He was a furious monster made of metal and fire at this point, and he would make sure that if anyone was going down, it was going to be this heretic!

"How exciting! I don't know 'bout you, but I'm having the time of my life!" He said as he drew out his sword, ready to defend himself from the Sorcerer's attacks. He blocked his attack with his shield, how annoying, this battle may be tougher than it looks after all. He laughed maniacally, as the raging Sorcerer charged towards him. "Tsk! This wouldn't be easy at all, the enemy has the upper hand. Focus more on range, although he may just keep on blocking it with his shield. Use your sword when given the opportunity as well." The voice in his head hastily said. "Copy that." Yes, Aegis may have the upper hand, but his skills has an additional effect to it. He'll have to use the corruption for his own extent.     His skills would allow him to inflict not only damage but also corruption points with the help of Miasma's presence in his attacks. He did explain to him briefly what his skills are capable of doing, how it can corrupt him and how the corruption can slowly decrease overtime, yet he didn't tell him about everything. Corruption can only degrade if he has been deprived by its presence. All he has to do now is keep on hitting Aegis, keep on infecting him with corruption. Once he gets to a high enough stage, it may cause him headaches and fatigue to disrupt his fighting and wear him down faster. He may have blocked his fully charged Miasma Bullet, but his exposure to it was inevitable, right now, Aegis has a total of two corruption points if he has done his Math correctly. Still, two points of corruption would barely do anything, he'll need to inflict more corruption Aegis to have some noticeable effects.     It's undeniably annoying how Aegis has both good Magical and Physical defense, it's just sickening to even think that Aegis is a whole lot more powerful than him. His magical resistance may not be as high as to what ordinary Sorcerers has normally, but with this kind of build, Aegis just seems to be capable of defending himself no matter what, deflecting each and every attack he'll do. No. He can do this, he can find a way to make it so that it would be impossible for him to actually deflect his attacks, and this would require the use of a combo. "You can do this. Use a skill combo. I'm sure he wont be capable of defending himself once you do so. I'm sure you know what I mean." Yes. They do have the same thinking, they are the same person after all, with the voice in his head being his logically twisted thinking. "Got it."     He may lack the capability of defending himself from attacks and the capability of creating high amounts of damage towards his Spellsword build, he can still get the victory with proper tactics. Tactics that a skilled MMO player can think of and execute. Even with this being the real life, it's just another one of those MMO games he used to play on his old computer at home. Having the use of two skills consecutively to create a combo is nothing new for those who have been playing these kinds of games before. Normally done by players who has a great set of both support and offense skills. And that is what he has. A great support skill, Shackles of the Sentenced, and great offensive skills, Miasma Bullet and Miasma Curtain. But wait, could it be? Can he actually use the system to his advantage? And the answer to that question is yes.     He kept on swiveling around swiftly, avoiding any incoming attacks that may approach him. Then suddenly, he stopped. "Come get me!" He laughed hysterically. The charging blade of fire clashed to his chest. No wound, no burns, not even a nudge. Friendly Fire is off. "Oops. Looks like friendly fire was off. Oh well. Hahaha!" He maniacally laughed. Yes, he'll have to fight dirty, abuse the system. "Marvelous! Bravo! Bravo!" The voice on his head would cheer joyfully. Both of them are incapable of damaging each other for they are both in a party and are both on each other's friends list. Although he is incapable of actually damaging Aegis directly, he can still inflict corruption to him with his skills. One thing that Aegis lacks, indirectly applying damage even with friendly fire turned off. And yes, the Sorcerer's passive beginner skill is still on effect. "Casting time for spells is reduced by 5% for the party." And who's in the party? Aegis and him. Having that, the system only treats this fight as a friendly sparring even if it really isn't. Oh how the tables have turned.     "But don't worry. Having friendly fire turned off wouldn't hinder me from corrupting you. Hahaha!" He casted his skill, Miasma Curtain, at it's lowest casting time, taking only a second and a half to cast with the Sorcerer's passive beginner skill on effect. The skill didn't do any damage whatsoever, although, it did inflict another point of corruption at Aegis, totaling up to three, only eight more to go before any mental effects. "Thanks to that beginner skill of yours, I was able to cast my spells a lot faster. So. I guess, thank you? Ahahaha!" He sarcastically said accompanied by a maniacal laughter. He'll just have to keep their party on and his name on his friends list for the rest of the fight. A slow but effective strategy. Aegis may not die, but he would soon suffer mental torture once his corruption is high enough.

When the blade came down, an attack that should have been more than damaging, resulting with no effect, he growled angrily at him, teeth bared and the hair on the back of his neck standing on end. He was taunting him. HIM! Conchobar Aegis! Gripping his blade tight, he tried to figure the implications. His opponent had admitted to the friendly fire, so why had he attacked him? Mana was a precious resource to him, and it had been wasted for no reason. Frustrated, the ulfhednar only then remembered the corruption aspect. He didn't know what it would do to him, only that it wouldn't be good if it was enough to stigmatize an entire class of people. "Do not think it wise to taunt one such as me." He would threaten, though only as a distraction. With most of the motions hidden behind the large shield, and his opponent distracted with the cast animation of his skill, at which point he was effectively unable to respond, he would swing his sword, lashing out suddenly for another strike, but at the last second, he would select the 'abandon party' option. That would disable the friendly fire clause, and he would probably see the notification at the same time the strike would connect. Friendly fire was on in a party mostly due to splash damage in order to prevent AoE casters from damaging the front line by accident. As for being on a friend list, friends were known for dueling quite regularly, to get better acquainted with their skills and abilities, and it would be quite inefficient to have to de-friend them just to have such a duel.

Truth be told, he was so furious with the betrayal, he hadn't realized that his HP hadn't dropped from the charged miasma bullet. Of course, Corruption had been a thing, which meant that was still adding up, but it seemed to be a slow process, one that he could take advantage of. With his burning blade and his burning fury, he lashed out over and over again with the blade, taking advantage of the cast time of the skill, knowing he couldn't move for its duration, hitting him with as many attacks as possible, without shying away from the Miasma Curtain. Sure, he took damage, but the real damage of the spell came if it was taken to its full duration. Since he was previously attempting small, fast attacks to try to build up corruption faster, that meant the spell wouldn't receive the bonus damage for it having been charged up. Sure, there was nothing he could do about the corruption, but he still had his natural magic resist to reduce the dark-type damage. Plus, he had still been at 100% HP, which was nice.

He wasn't sure how the rest of the fight may turn out, but he knew that he would have to capitalize on every possible advantage. If he moved, he would follow, if he attacked, he would defend, if he guarded... well, he had no real way to guard. Even if he intercepted his attack with his blade, damage was still done, and it would re-apply the DoT, so in the end, he was still winning the trade. He had been willing to live and let live, ten seconds ago, but not now. If this mage wanted to act like a Heratic, then he was more than willing to treat him like one. And that means he would hold no remorse in his heart as he struck him down and sent him to the Cathedral. Maybe it would shock him enough to wake him back up.

The blade had hit him, and hit him, and hit him, all over again, it was painful. Aegis left the party, no more friendly fire, this is a full on battle. His whole body caught on fire after the blade had hit him, multiple times may I add. "Fu**ing shit! I'll kill you! Kill you for sure!" It really was painful, more painful that what burning looks like in games, more painful that what taking a hit from a sword looks like in games. So this is how it feels, how exhilarating. He looked at his health, already halfway down and continuing to deplete with the fire, bad, this is bad. His blood's rushing in his body, pumping him all up. He's starting to feel the rage even more. He gave Aegis a soul piercing stare, giving off an illusion as if his eyes were glowing.  It's time to get serious. He's no expert when it comes to fighting, but surely, he had already read something about it. He didn't charge in, except, he started running to the opposite direction. Surely, he has a greater speed advantage compared to Aegis and his heavy equipment. He took his Grimoire out and started firing out bolts until he finally reach to the point where Aegis is far away even for the bolt to reach him.  "Forfeit this battle for now. You're not that strong yet. One you are, You'll be capable of annihilating anyone and anything in your path." He thought to himself after hearing the voice in his head. It's true, he's not ready to fight yet, especially these kinds of people who just seems to be capable of defending himself against every each attack he makes.  "You're far enough away, root him in place, then use Call of Home." That's right. Shackles of the Sentenced is capable of rooting Aegis down for five seconds with an almost instant casting time of a second and a half. Exactly the amount of seconds needed for Call of Home's casting time. "No time for you know. Call me a coward or whatever but next time, there's no holding back." He said as he continued running. He activated the skill, causing chains to erupt from the ground once more, rooting Aegis in place. As soon as he did, he activated Call of Home. He started glowing, dispersing into the air. As he did, he spoke. "We'll meet again. By that time, I'll slay you for sure..." There was a blinding light, slowly, it subsided, regaining his vision. He looked around. "You're here at the Londinium Underground." He got confused for a second, surely, he didn't set his home point here. "I did. I've set your home point here. Remember when you first got your corruption? You woke up in here after regaining you consciousness. You unconsciously set your home point here." He nodded, as he started to make his way up and out of the Underground. "Make your way back to the fields." He scratched his head. "Then why did I forfeit the battle when I'm going back again?", "Because! You'll need to go to the Miasma Realms, train there, hone your Heretic powers. Surely he's already gone once you reach there." He finally got out of the underground. He looked up, the sun was still high, scorching hot. "I'll go rest somewhere first. Then I go walking." He clenched his fists and started to walk off. "Conchobar Aegis....." He whispered deeply to himself.

Conchobar wouldn't give him a moments rest as he continued to chase Hexell down, using whatever he could to avoid as much damage as possible, by either guarding or avoiding the grimoire attacks. However, it wouldn't be too long before eventually the shackles of the sentenced would sentence the Sorcerer to failure. The Heratic would escape back to his home point as he was left in the woods. Furiously, Conchobar started thrusting his sword everywhere, striking at the nearest thing possible, which happened to be a tree. The blade would bite into the wood over and over again, the wolf hair gritting his teeth so hard that it hurt, leaves fluttering down with every powerful strike.

Conchobar was not a bad person. He wasn't the best person out there, but he wasn't a bad person. He didn't deserve this betrayal. The Wolf Hair made a mistake, it was true, and he attempted to make amends, but instead, he was assaulted and attacked. The sorcerer would NOT forgive these transgressions, though. It was true that neither of them were particularly effective at fighting, and by the next time they meet, they would probably be significantly stronger. But he need to make sure this heratic wouldn't be stronger than him. This corruption mechanic would surely be exacerbated at higher levels, so he would need to know how to prepare for that. While that meant he needed to worry about research, he also needed to work on his mobility... Hexell was able to kite him extremely effectively, which was bad for him. He would need to find a way to keep his mobility up in order to make sure he wouldn't be left in the dust.

Swing after swing, the fury of the spellsword wouldn't even be realized until he heard a deafening crash. Vision cleared as he realized that he wasn't standing in front of a tree anymore, but merely a jagged, charred stump. The tree he had been venting his anger onto had collapsed under the abuse and lay on the ground, defeated. Conchobar gritted his teeth as he slammed his sword into his sheath. He was a Berserker- No. Ne was Ulfhednar. He was to harness the power of his fury, and use it was a weapon. He was not going to be a puppet to it, and fall victim to it. The Wolf hair would learn to master who he was, and he would fell anyone who stood in his way. He was Conchobar Aegis, future High King. He would not be defeated.

Turning away, he would walk towards the exit of the area. While it would be much faster to just run back towards Londinium, but Conchobar didn't need to just be back in a crowded place in a near-blind fury. He needed to take the time to calm himself down, work through this burning rage. If the sorcerer didn't start working on it now, he would never learn to control it. The Wolf Hair would be consumed and his dreams would never come to fruition. Slowly he would march, back towards londinium the hard way.
