Race / Color Skins!
Yeah, might be a weird idea I’ve come up with this time. For now, I’m restricting them to race-based skins, taking into consideration which of the actual races the race skin looks more alike. Their addition to the shop would make it richer imo. In any case, I thought that this could be an interesting addition to those who care for looks and aesthetics, so, enjoy~!
[Human skin: Vampire]
Creatures that wander in the night hunting for their prey, their main characteristics being an extremely pale (or jet black) skin and eyes that have a distinct glow from that of any other race. When in the night, their movement seems to generate fading afterimages. Unlike legends say, staying in the sunlight don’t hurt at all, and they don’t need BLOOD BLOOD BLOOD to survive. This skill does not contribute in any kind of battle advantage or utility other than that of a human’s, and therefore, is purely cosmetic.
Comment: I know that this is an rp subclass in the MMO, but I can’t help but feel like it’s better as a race. Vampires are also known for having all-around capabilities, so, they’re best as human skin.
[Dwarf skin: Beaver-fang]
These guys are widely known to be the far opposite to the Dwarves, although with similar physical traits. While Dwarves reside in caves and mountains, Beavers Fangs prefer places with plenty of water resources. They usually have tanned skin and toned body. Any kind of fur is extremely spiky and estrangely enough, they do not possess a beaver's fangs. They’re just as short as dwarves and they have a tail similar to that of a beaver.
[Elf skin: Dreademon]
Elves that distorted from their paths in the great war. It is said that they’ve adapted to live in the Miasma Realms for quite some time, which in turn slightly mutated their appearance. They have a multitude of skin colors – usually dark tones – and tribal tattoos cover their bodies. Their main characteristics are their horns which come in a variety of ways. Despite their origin, they’re now spread across Gaia, and they do not have any special reistance against miasma.
Comment: Because Dark Elves.
[Half-Alv Skin: Yasha]
The Yasha are a number of people with mystical powers akin to those of the half-alv that came as refugees to the Unfounded Kingdom from Yamato because of raging war. Their special trait, however, is the presence of a third eye somewhere on their body, preferably where it can read and see. Many say it allows them to see and understand many things that others normally can’t. There are also a heavy concentration of emblems and tattoos around said eye.
Comment: Based on “Yasha” from the Rosario To Vampire manga.
[Werecat skin: Kitty Paws]
The Kitty Paw people are beastmen of good alignment with bloodline related to the werecats. They were created to fight the monster with physically enhanced skills. Unlike Werecats, however, they cling to the humanoid side of their race. They’re not covered in fur, and their only cat traits are a pair of cat ears and a tail.
[ Wolf Hair Skin: Doghart]
Dogharts are beastmen of good alignment with bloodline related to the Wolf Hair. They were created to fight monsters with physically enhanced skills. Unlike Wolf Hairs, they have more friendly traits such as an addicting fluffy hair and droopy ears.
Beg eyes included.
[Fox Tail Skin: Bunnyhop]
Bunnyhop are beastmen of good alignment with unique bloodline. They were created to fight monsters, but similarly to Foxtails, cling to the magical side of fighting. They’re commonly seen with a pair of bunny ears and a bunny tail. Both can be hidden through magical power.
[Race of Ritual Skin: Halemental.]
The race name is a term originally formed from "half" and "elemental". The Halemental are a mysterious race of unknown origin. They’re people with unusual body color (often in light or shiny tones, but dark ones also exist, although rare) that has a smooth transparency to it. They have pointy ears similar to elves or dreademons, and usually long hair that seems to have a life of its own.
Skill Effect / Color Skins
I’ve been thinking about this for quite a while lately. In my opinion, the way the skill skins work right now isn’t really, per say, efficient. First, the fact that each skin affects only one skin only smells like extra work. Because there are tons of skills. Wondering why there isn’t a skin that doesn’t change that awesomesauce skill color to that favorite of yours? Your answer. Making each skill skin with different colors ( or even special effects like the pumpkin ones) would need way too much effort and that would result in MANY skins.
So, my suggestion is that skins should work in a way that they can be applied to all of the character skills for a higher price. In the case of the user has two or more skins, it would be his or her choice which to use in which skill as long as he/she bought it from the shop. That way anyone can apply the visual effects they want in the way they want.
Skins:
Mana concentration skin: Red
The user’s alma natural color changes and enhances their mana. With this skin toggled, normal attacks will leave a fading trail of red energy and all effects from skills which have colors will be set to the many shades of red. This does not give the character any advantages and is purely cosmetical.
Mana concentration skin: Green
The user’s alma natural color changes and enhances their mana. With this skin toggled, normal attacks will leave a fading trail of green energy and all effects from skills which have colors will be set to the many shades of green. This does not give the character any advantages and is purely cosmetical.
Mana concentration skin: Blue
The user’s alma natural color changes and enhances their mana. With this skin toggled, normal attacks will leave a fading trail of blue energy and all effects from skills which have colors will be set to the many shades of Blue. This does not give the character any advantages and is purely cosmetical.
(The colors are similar to those of the Lune’s districts, I’m not gonna put each of them here.)
I also thought about suggesting elemental skins, but I think those would be a mess and many players would think their elements would change according to the elemental skin. So I scrapped that idea.
And that’s it. Hope I suggested something interesting this time. See ya next~
