Keyala's red hair fell over her glasses as she shook her head telling Klide that one hundred percent honest may not be the way to go, and that perhaps being ninety percent honest would be enough. and then she surprised him by telling him that he was like a knight. "A Knight? No... really?" he said, quite confused and surprised by her words. Klide had never though of himself as a knight. He was just a regular guy in this world, going through life as best he could. As he had said to Keyala just a few moments prior, he only really wanted basic and simple things. His want to be there when his friends needed him was very normal, wanting to protect those dear to someone is not that unusual, and his want for strength went along with the want to protect. Wanting joy was not all that odd either, most people want to be happy. His want for someone to love was not unusual at all, almost everybody wants love. As for the last thing he wanted, building something permanent, that may be a little more out of the ordinary than the others, but as Keyala had said, a girl can dream, so why should a guy not be able to? "How about World Order Restoration Knights, or World Order Refinement Knights, so that is forms the acronym WORK." Klide said to Keyala as he though to himself that he might be pretty clever for coming up with those on the spot. "What? Oh... no, not to my knowledge. I do not think there are any organized groups aside from the guilds. Though it is possible to establish something like that if enough people would be interested in joining and being active in fighting for the cause. But please Keyala, could you explain what you meant by me being like a knight? no one has ever said that to me before." Klide munched on his eggs as he waited for a reply.

She gives him a small shrug as she takes another bite of bacon, once more flopping her hand forward to idly point the bacon at him, wagging it at him as she speaks "Well...think about it, you're a swordsman to start, like...that's a tell tale sign of a knight, but beyond that, like...based on what you said. You follow certain parts of the code of Chivalry. Like, Thou shalt respect all weaknesses, and shalt constitute thyself the defender of them, and Thou shalt never lie, and shalt remain faithful to thy pledged word. And those two are just the ones you somewhat fall under. I mean, this right here falls under thou shalt be generous, and give largesse to everyone, or whatever it is. All you need is a liege, as you already have a country and a people to protect, and then you're basically a full fledged knight according to the laws of chivalry. Plus, you're almost in the conditions a lot of knights found themselves in at the end of the Viking Age, that really led to the Crusades, so perhaps your Crusade is defending this land, is it not? Correct me if I'm wrong in any of this, but it just seemed like an accurate description." she says, once again snapping the little girl persona she gives off to become very intelligent sounding, rattling off information with very little hesitation, shoving the rest of the bacon in her mouth once she finishes her speech, smirking. "Perhaps you simply need to go out and find a group worth crusading with, or go out and make one, and protect Londonium, protect the Landers, and protect this land. Not just like Wardens, but like a Knight or a Paladin, with a greater purpose than one single task of containing one single thing, how does that sound to you Klide? Or should it be Ser Klide? Knighting is very easy, just find someone of noble blood and have them say some things that you repeat as an oath, touch you on both shoulders, and then declare you as a Knight of the land. So Ser Klide, am I wrong in calling you a knight?" she says, pointing her fork at him, with pieces of scrambled egg attached to it.

Klide lowered his fork from his lips and propped it up against his plate as Keyala began to speak. He lifted his white napkin to his lips and wiped the bit of liquid egg yolk from the corner of his lip. He then too a sip from his glass of water, and sat facing her with his hands crossed after he replaced the glass in the spot it had originally been set. "Well it is true that I am a swordsman, but I use a katana rather any European blade, and Knights were an European concept. I believe that all life deserves respect, but I respect all weaknesses above any other because that is the part that needs to be protected. Our weaknesses help us define who we are, and who we find to help us make up for those weaknesses. And so as I just said, it seems rather self explanatory and obvious that I would want to protect the weak. As for never lying, I am far from a perfectly honest man. I have lied my fare share, and it is only recently that I am what I have shown you today. I agree with you that one hundred percent honesty may be a bit over doing it. I think that it is acceptable to lie to someone if it is either to protect them, or to protect someone from them. I would not lie, so neither would I break my promise, my word is my bond. I am being kind to you and treating you to a meal because it is my way of apologizing for bumping into you, and I am willing to help you train because I do not want you to get hurt. You are a lower level than I and so I feel that if I just passed you by without helping, and you were to get injured and I found out, then I would feel at least partially responsible for not having taught you to the fullest extent of what I could have. I am not interested in having a Liege. My friends are far more important to me than any ruler or commander by name. I doe not mean to sound hostile or anything, as I know you wish to lead, but to me, ranks mean nothing. I decide who I will listen and who I will save, or which side I will take. I do not want someone else deciding for me. This is my country now, I agree with you on that, but what does it need protecting from, aside from the occasional merchant being attacked by boars on the street or an adventurer biting off more than he can chew, there is no large conflict or war that is hurting my people. Please, no "Sir Klide". I am no knight. I am simply a swordsman who does what is right on occasion, but a knight is honorable both on and off the battle field. I am brutal to my foes, and merciless as well. These are not the characteristics of a chivalrous knight. The Knight's code contains one line which I cannot follow fully. "Thou shalt be everywhere and always the champion of the Right and the Good against Injustice and Evil." I am that Evil to my enemies, and though from my perspective I am doing what is right I can not say that I am not the Evil and Injustice if I am willingly taking the lives of my foes. And yet I feel no guilt for a massacre a may cause if I did it in the name of my justice, which namely involves those close to me. Can you say the same for a true knight Keyala? Would not a true knight feel guilt for any life he or she takes, even if it is in the name of justice. After all, all life if precious. The Knight's code states "Thou shalt respect the weak and constitute thyself the defender of them", but if your enemy falls by your blade, than they are weaker than you, and so you should have protected them, this is the paradox of the knight in my eyes. He has a code he must follow, and a Justice he must uphold, but he can not do both in my eyes, and so, I can never call myself I knight. I have my own code, and my own justice. If you like the idea of knights serving a lord and having a code, than when you lead this nation, as I am sure you can do if you push both yourself and this world hard enough, then by all means, feel free to establish the "World Order Refinement Knights" or whatever it is you decide to call them. I however, will remain regular Klide, without any fancy titles like "sir". I will allow myself the freedom of sleeping in trees and bathing in streams until a time when I find the one I wish to love and call my own. Then I may decide to get a house and sleep in trees a little less often." Klide smiled at this last part, for he wanted to raise the mood a bit after having had disagreed with Keyala for a substantial portion of his speech. At the end of his speech, he finished his food and placed his utensils on the empty plate. he then wipe his lips one again, and drank the last of his water. He put the glass on top of his plate and set them aside. "When you are done with your food, we can start to make our way to the forest if you want. I have a feeling that the slimes will have a hard time fighting a women so confident in her leadership skills, especially after a substantial meal. If you want something to go for the trek to the forest, I can get you some ice cream or something like that." With that, clear leaned a little back in his seat and listened to whatever Keyala may have to say. Word Count: 1017 Total Word Count: 5758+1017=6775 Tags: Keyala

Keyala kept at her food, considering she had ordered quite the amount of food. She idly scratched her fork on the plate, she looks down at her plate, silent for the longest time since she had met Klide and not wandered off. After a few moments, she chuckles, looking back up at him with a smirk "You haven't figured it out yet, have you Klide? This world is a chance to be something that is truly great, that is truly greater than any of us could have been back in that old world. You have a dream, and that is good, but I don't see how one could just idly sit by, not trying to push this world. Sleeping in trees and finding a woman? That could have been done in our old world, Klide. You aren't /regular/ Klide, you can do so much more than that. Call me a hypocrite I suppose, since I told you not to step on my dream, but I think I have to debate this with you. Let me preface this by saying that most would say even in our old world I would have found that dull. It's so...it's such...it lacks ambition! A dream should be ambitious! Let that ambition guide you! I can't be the only one who feels a burning in their heart when people are ahead of them, when someone knows something I don't. That is what I think drives a dream...finding love..so..pedestrian...gah, I can't even wrap my head around it! We have an opportunity to shape something Klide! Maybe there isn't a conflict now, but that will never last, in history it never has, and if we can't be ready to confront that...no...if we're not willing to confront that, then we are the ones who are doomed to be left behind! I am already far enough behind Klide! I will not stand idly by and allow someone else to feel the same burning that I do! It is not right, but perhaps you don't feel that same way, perhaps you are content watching conflict from the sidelines and I am being ignorant, but I don't think anyone should be content watching from the sidelines, just looking for romance and not for glory! Even if you don't follow a code, a Knight is about that search for glory in the end, that's why they all fight. The Crusades weren't about God! They were about money, and glory, and the potential rewards! In some cases, it was even just for the sake of fighting!" she sighs, taking a deep breath as she takes another bite of her food, pushing it forward, most of her plate cleared "Sorry, rant over, ignore it if you'd like."

Klide listened intently and did not interrupt Keyala's passionate rant. "Ah, but Keyala. I figured it out already. I know that this world is a chance to be something that is greater than what I was, But I have already done that. I told you what I was before this happened. I am already so much greater than anything I could have been in the old world. Not only do I have a dream, I have many dreams, though most of them are small ones. I do not sit idle Keyala, I simply train and grow stronger so that if a time ever arises when my strength will be needed, I can be there to provide a helping hand. I have only one aspiration that may be considered an attempt to push this world. I told you that I plan on building a steam locomotive, which would make life far easier for both Adventurers and People of the land. So so what if I enjoy sleeping in trees and the goal of finding a person to love? I am a simple man and I enjoy the simple things in life. Not everyone has goals as grand as yours Keyala. Not everyone wants to be a Queen or some other type of leader." He paused and took a shallow breath before continuing. "A dream.... Why should it have to be ambitious? We cannot define dreams by one persons standards. MY dreams are not ambitious because I am not the type of person to seek out grandeur and glory. I like things simple. I want to stay in this world and when I do settle down, I want to life somewhere in the forest or mountains, and have a quiet life with out armies to rule and cities to govern. I want to be able to sip tea with my friends of old and tell stories of our dumb adventures and exploits why laughing at each others foolish mistakes from back then. I want to grow old and have children and grandchildren who I can tell the simple things. Sure having a bigger story in there wouldn't hurt, but if I tell my child that I helped build and engineer the first train in this world, I think that that will be plenty impressive enough. And sure, say there is a large war that happens. I'll look back and tell them stories of it, but I will also cry much over any People of the land who lost their lives for being involved. What would make you think that I would be alright with watching any conflict from the side lines? Pardon me for my rudeness, but maybe you are being ignorant. All I have said thus far has involved protecting those lose to me and fighting for my beliefs. So please tell me, how could I, someone who would die a thousand times over for a single friend, ever be seen as someone who would stand idle watching a conflict from the sides. My search for romance without glory is my way of life. As I have said, i am not one for grandeur and glory. I want the small things, even if you do not. I am a bit too shy to want the whole world to recognize me, unless it is because of thing I would have done regardless of glory, life saving a life in a moment of crisis. You said "Maybe there isn't a conflict now, but that will never last, in history it never has, and if we can't be ready to confront that...no...if we're not willing to confront that, then we are the ones who are doomed to be left behind!" Why do you assume that we will have conflict, I have not heard from any one person that there has ever been large scale conflict here, and why should there be? Perhaps this land is different from our own in many more ways than you think. Sure there is more possible here, but what if there is also less war, less hate, less governing. Our people, the adventures, have no leader, yet we have done our jobs of protecting the People of the land when they needed it, and have searched this world and shared our knowledge. Instead of assuming the worst like that this world is doomed to have wars and that we need a leader. Try looking at it in a slightly more peaceful way. If this world has a conflict, then we will face it. If there is need of a leadership system, then we will establish it. We can solve any problems we are met with as they arise, and we do not need to fear that this world will fall to chaos if there is no evidence that it will, nor even that it ever has. a Knight is about that search for glory in the end, but I told you I am no Knight, so even if it is a knight's goal to have glory, it is not mine. Keyala, I want you to succeed at your more ambitious goals, but please do not call my dreams petty simply because you have dreams that effect a larger portion of the people of this world. My dreams are enough to satiate my hunger." Klide let out a breath and rested his hands on the table. He was glad to be having such a passionate conversations and debate from a simple chance encounter, even if they were of opposite opinions. She sits back in her chair, giving a small, bitter scoff. "Its in our nature, you know that, right? There will always be some sort of conflict. If it's not us, it's the game that will throw it at us, because is the entire basis of Elder Tale not fighting? So why wouldn't it be able to throw a conflict at us? Otherwise, why else are we here, why else are we in this world? We're not here to just go about our new lives idly and peacefully. Something happened, something chaotic and something that intended for a conflict with us. There's no accident that could cause something of this scale, that I know, and if we aren't prepared for that reality then I don't know what we will do when that day comes. Gods...you sound like some high schooler...just some kid caught up in the idea of romance..." she says, giving a small sigh, adjusting her glasses slightly before pulling them off of her face, wiping them down before pulling them back up, sliding them back onto the bridge of her nose "I don't understand how people can live like that...it just feels so...small...like the universe forgot you...how can you be okay with being forgotten? Just being some...person...who happened to watch something change, or maybe participated in it but didn't play a huge role...How can one person's dream be another's nightmare? What makes my nightmare so appealing Klide? Maybe I am ignorant, maybe my nightmare is the dream of many, but I just can't sit by and watch my nightmare." she shifts a little in her chair, chuckling as she closes her eyes "I'm sorry Klide, I just realized how wrong what I'm saying is...after all, I did tell you to let me have my child-like dreams, but maybe it's the other way around. Back in the other world, there was an author, by the name of Vonnegut. He never knew the meaning of his work, but it was always correct somehow. Maturity is a bitter disappointment for which no remedy exists, unless laughter could be said to remedy anything. That's a fun quote. So perhaps I shouldn't lecture you into my disappointment. I have a lot of catching up to do in this world, Klide, and you're rather far ahead, yet you still have further to go, but that doesn't bother you. I envy that, I really do. You don't have to fight, you fight because you want to. I fight because if I don't, it burns. I'm not someone who gets swept up by a lot of negative emotion, minus anger, but that burning sits and never goes away, not until I've caught up, not until I've left my mark. Maybe you do feel the same Klide, but you only care about a smaller mark. I envy that as well. Satisfied with friends and family, that's something I could never get, and I would never be satisfied with. Maybe for today I should let that all go, and take in the food and the city, instead of taking it all in and thinking about the next step along with it. Lets go out and fight another day Klide. I think today is a day I should enjoy the peace of, we really get so few days like that, eh?"

"Yes, I know that very well. I have studied enough history to see our true nature. One of my history teachers once told me something that was, I think, the most accurate description of man kind in history. "Through out history, you will see three things in almost every major situation. Man is Greedy, Man is Violent, and Man is Horny." These words still ring truth today. Man kind has not changed, nor do I believe that it will, not without a push in that direction. If this world does push a conflict on us, like you predict it will, then I will fight. I will play no small part. I will slaughter all those that I am capable of killing, and I will fight until my body falls to the ground from agony and exhaustion. Even then, my mind will fight. But I will not gain glory for this, I will not be a renowned hero or a honored warrior. I will have no songs of praise written about me, and my name will not enter the history books of this world. I will be the shadow of the war, that most will learn to despise, I will bear the hate, the rage. the agony, and I will not complain. I will hide that side from the ones I love. If a war like this occurs, and in its passing I will have become death, then I will not turn back from my path once I have started. I will not be someones pawn or weapon, because I have a will of my own, but I will help others make their names known. I will do all in my power to serve this kingdom until I can serve no longer. My glory and grandeur will be known only to me, and that fits my wishes perfectly." With that, he sighed, and scratched his shoulder during his pause. "You say you can not understand how someone could live like I want to, because that is too small, like the universe has forgotten me, but allow me to disagree. I am the universe. I only exist because I am simply the product of high mass stars exploding their chemically enriched guts into the depths of space. I am in the universe yes, but the universe is also in me. Being forgotten is something I am good at anyway. If I gain glory through building a train, or through fighting a war, that is fine I guise, but I do not want to lead people, I do not want to be interviewed and quoted, I want to be a shadow. In that sense, perhaps assassin would have been a better choice, but I find that my being a swashbuckler fits my fighting style more. It is not that I do not want to participate in grand events or that I do not want to play a large role. I want to play the largest role I can. I just do not want the world to look up to me or honor me. I am equal to those around me, not someone worthy of the raise of the masses. This is your nightmare. You wish to be known as a leader, and you want people to look up to you. You want to have the highest rank so that you give the orders, and take none of them. That is fine, I can see why my way of life is a nightmare to you. But my way of life is necessary for yours is it not? If every one was like you, would there not be a bit of a problem because everyone would want to rule, and so no one could. You are correct that I have far to go, and I am fine with that, but please understand that rushing ahead is not always the best course of action. How can you expect to be an accepted leader of this land if you do not take your time to get to know the land, the People of the land, and the other adventurers. There are plenty of adventurers who are higher level than me, and unless you have at least a few of them backing you, than how can you ever expect to lead anyone. A leader can not lead simply because they want to. They need the people or they are left with no one to lead. For today though, let all of that go, enjoy the peace of the day, kill a few slimes, become a better warrior, and build a bond with a strange swashbuckler who you may not agree with, but who was placed in your path by some twist of fate anyway." With this, Klide smiled at Keyala and stood from his seat. "Shall we begin to make our way out of town?" he said, his hand outstretched towards the fox-tail woman. With his other hand, he placed several gold coins on the table and then waited for her to take his hand, or ignore it if she chose, as she had done before. She gives a small nod as she stands, ignoring his hand, as usual. She doesn't seem to react well to someone trying to give her assistance like that, likely associating it with someone patronizing her due to her height. She seems like a woman who will refuse it solely to make a point to herself, as she had no reason to believe that Klide intended to treat her like a child. In fact, she had every reason to believe that he was treating her in the opposite of ways. "Gunna go all scientific to counter my talk of fate? Astronomy, chemistry, and physics can not deal with human nature, it does not dwell in the realm of philosophy. Note, I'm not talking religion, there's a reason that I always refer to the 'Gods' while I'm in Elder Tale, it's fun to say, and disconnects everything in here with the religions of reality. I digress. I'm not talking about being forgotten by the physical mass of the Universe, it's not like matter has memory, that's a foolish thing to think. I'm talking about the flow of time, what our path is, not what we're made of. I don't want that path not to be real, because if it's not, then what chance do I have of being taken seriously? Of fixing the problems that need fixing, of confronting the conflicts that need mediated and dealt with? I'm five foot freaking two! No one would take me seriously unless they're supposed to, or I make them, so I have to cover all of my bases. So, we're going to go fight some slimes?" she says, as she begins to walk off, towards the stairs and back into the city where she is routinely lost. As usual, she pulls her hood up, her fox tail and her fox ears vanishing as she ends up on the street. She thinks to herself "Ya did it again Kelly...Keyala...whoever I am now, you argued, just like back in real life, you know you have to stop being so damn stubborn...gah...maybe I'll just forget that I tried to attack dreams after defending dreams, consistence Key! You know better than that! What if he had stormed off? What if he starts treating me like a little kid again? Damnit Key...stay focused and kick some Slime's faces...er...kill some slimes and level up! Then I can finally be strong to be a force in this world! Maybe Klide is a good chance to learn...or maybe I should just go with my plan that I still haven't tried...he's gunna realize I haven't gone out to fight that much..."Word Count: 446 Total Word Count: 446+5359+5805 Tags: @blazeedge Bailin

It was early in the morning when Bailin finished cleaning up some of the lesser evils of the outskirts of Londinium, vanquishing his nemeses, the boars, and some lesser evils, like slime or evil dogs or wolves and the likes. ‘t was true that this was not a hunting grounds fit for someone of his level, yet after his expedition to the miasma realms, the Warden had felt a need to keep thinning the herd every now and then, minimising both Lander and Adventurer casualties. There had been some that had remained inside the town whilst others, like him, had ventured forth. Death at the lower levels was something that happened on occasion, especially nowadays, yet after the Miasma Realms Bailin knew better than to underestimate the lower levelled monsters as well. The mere thought of evil, lurking miasma creatures in the already gloomy miasma realm had… urged Lander mercenaries, soldiers in their own regard, to kill themselves, just to be free of the ever present pressure of the miasma realm. [break][break] Since his return the Warden had spent every other morning at the outskirts, slashing and shooting away at the minor monsters that could pose a threat to the said lower levelled players whom were to venture outside the safety of the city walls. The routine had to effect; combined with the other activities the Warden had picked up; that he had become more muscular and he had chosen to sport a big, burly beard as well. [break][break] Taking a step to the left whilst slashing from left to right the Warden dispatched one of the annoying slime creatures that had deemed itself worthy enough to bother the Warden, gently dispersing in a cloud of shiny particles. The loot was never worth it, but the idea of making a minute difference always made the Warden a tad happier. With a fluid motion the Warden swept his blade clean and sheathed the sabre in its scabbard. Sighing softly the Warden turned about face, placed his left hand on the sabre’s handle and started marching towards the gate of Londinium, whilst humming ‘Scotland the Brave’ in his mind, his face stern, cold and grim, his eye staring into the horizon. After a short while the Warden came upon the main road towards the town of Londinium. Slowly more life came upon the rocky road, Landers with carts heading in and out of town, as well as Adventurers setting out or returning. There was a certain air of calmness within the chaos the Warden had started enjoying. [break][break] It did not take long for the Warden to weave a way through the moving throng of liveliness and head into to town through the gate. When he passed through the gate he gazed upon an interesting sight, it would appear he had missed quite a lot during his time in the Miasma Realm. For lo and be aghast, his old friend Klide was wandering about with a small female, a rare sight indeed. The girl was a foxtail, much like Bailin’s on girl, though this one appeared to be a bit more timid than Saskia. With great strides the Warden marched up towards the couple, feeling glad that his friend managed to get himself some company at long last. [break][break]
When the Warden arrived at the couple he clicked his heels together and made a curt nod, looking straight into Klide’s eyes with his own eye and a stern face. Then the Warden turned his attention towards the girl, raising his eyebrow, not changing the stern look on his face. [break][break]

Youka frowned as she wandered around Londinium. Personally she wasn't that happy to be around so many people. It was always mentally exhausting for her and she couldn't stand that most of them were all out for their own gain, just like she was. She started running. I have to get out of here! Youka wasn't looking where she was going and ended up running head first into someone. Lovely.
Youka fell onto her butt.

Klide had already covered a large distance since their departure from the roof top breakfast. Him and Keyala had been talking as they walked, though they did not hold hands this time. Keyala seemed more focused now, and because they were side by side, Klide had little to fear in the ways of her wandering off. Klide was looking down at Keyala and saying something along the lines of not letting slimes touch her skin, because they could cause lots of pain, but he noticed something familiar out of the corner of his eye, followed by a clicking sound that he assumed was the click of heels. "The police?" he thought to himself. "No, it can not be police because there are none in this world, there are only the Royal guardians, and they do not click their heels do they? Why would they? They come once a conflict has already begun." He looked up to be met with the stern face of his good friend Bailin. His friend gave a slight nod, whilst making full eye contact with Klide. With out saying a word, he then turned towards Keyala, the short, ambitious, fox tail who had become Klide's companion by chance. "Friend Bailin, How are you? With such a stern expression... well I am only left to assume that something awful has befallen you. But fortune must smile upon me, for your eyes still hold the kindness and joy that they used to, though you may not show it as much. Oh yes! Please forgive me for not introducing you earlier" Klide gave a playful bow as he apologized for the late introduction. "This..." he indicated to his fox tail companion. "...is Keyala. I bumped into... or rather, we bumped into each other by chance today, and we were just planning to go hunt some slimes, so that I may teach her the basics of combat. Though she is a sorceress, and I have little experience with the other classes aside from them being at the tip of my swords, but teaching the basics... well that is something I think I can handle." Then he turned to Keyala to introduce the hearty stern figure before her. "This is a friend of mine, Bailin. He is a good man, and a reliable one too. Though I have to ask you Bailin, how has Saskia been? I have not seen her in a long time." He turned to Keyala and explained that Saskia was Bailin's girlfriend. "...and she puts up with him, so he can not be all bad, right? He sure is lucky to have found someone here. Any way, I hope you two can become friends someday. You seem to be to be quite similar people, and I think you would get along quite nicely." With that, he began to march toward the edge of town again. a few steps in he paused. "Bailin, would you like to join me in mentoring Keyala? A second opinion and your perspective and experiences could do wonders in improving her combat prowess." As he waited for a reply. A sudden jolt hit his stomach. He looked down, half expecting to have been transported into the past and find Keyala on her butt from bumping into him, but it was a different girl. Her hair seemed to be as long as her body, and she did not look pleased. Klide dropped down on one knee and offered his hand to the second girl he had bumped today. "Miss... I am sorry miss. I did not mean to stand in your way. It seems I should have payed more attention, for if I had, you would not be on the ground now. Are you alright?" Klide had a warmth in his eyes and as he spoke, his voice was filled with genuine concern and compunction. "I am Klide." With that, he was set in his position, and waited for this new girl to either say something, or take his hand, or possibly both. Youka looked up at Klide, the man she had bumped into. " DO I LOOK LIKE I'M ALRIGHT?!?!" She asked angrily. She saw his extended hand and ignored it as she studied him. He was tall and lightly tanned. She also noticed that he had shaggy dark brown hair and was extremely masculine. Probably wouldn't be the best idea to pick a fight with him. Even if he was a human swashbuckler one of the other specialized weaponry classes. Youka sighed and glared at Klide. She would not accept his help nor would she give him the honor of knowing her name. Youka pushed herself up slowly and stood in front of Klide. " May as well stop the act dude. You don't care about me and it's best not to lie to me. Also try to keep out of the other's way. It's extremely rude." she snapped at him. She looked around to see that Klide had two companions with him. A female foxtail and a human. Youka then proceded to look down all of herself see if there was any damage to her clothes. Only to discover the fact that her beautiful black clothes were covered in dirt and grime. My poor clothes. My poor poor gorgeous lolita style skirt and shirt. Youka began to pat her clothes everywhere in the effort to get some of the dirt off of them. This day had been just positively "lovely" in all sense of the sarcastic way. First she had been killed by some nobody and sent to the cathedral and now she was stuck in town and lost. As if she wasn't already in a bad mood from all the people and weird looks she just HAD to bump into someone and be forced to interact with a person. Why her day was just getting "better" by the minute. Youka looked back at Klide once she was sure that her dress was as clean as she coud get it. She put her fists up and took a definsive stance as she took a few steps back. " Don't come near me or I'll hit! I'm not kidding bub." Youka's stomach growled extremely loudly which completely made her point moot. She probably couldn't fight if she hungry. Also they were still in Londinium which wouldn't end well if she tried to fight with her kunai or tried to run away. There were too many people in the way everywhere for her to even run or do anything. Plus using your fighting skills was pretty much illegal inside of the city. Either way she was pretty much screwed. Even more so if Klide's companions decided to also fight her which wouldn't end well for a fact. Youka continued to glare fiercely at Klide as she stayed in her place. " I hate you." she said calmly with a slight shred of aggressiveness. The fox-tail girl would pivot, turning to look towards Bailin, her eyes looking him up and down, a small smirk visible on her face. She looks up towards him, tilting her head back slightly in order to do so "So is he gunna be the tall, silent type? Ya' know, sitting around, waiting for the right moment to say his few, deep meaning words, before returning to his powerful silence? Nah...maybe he's just judging me, but why? The height? Nah, that's not too rare, I'm only five foot three....Maybe he's trying to intimidate me? There are three problems with that theory, one, what's his reason for doing so? Unless he thinks I'm a thing with you Klide...which if I'm giving that impression that would be odd...The second is problem is that he can try all he wants, he can't intimidate me. He may be big, but I also have speed and magic, and tenacity. The third problem is that it doesn't seem like something he'd do...Also, just so you know, I'm a summoner, not a sorcerer, there is a big difference between the two, I don't buff, I summon big creatures that bash your head in, or ghosts that can scout, regardless!" she chuckles, crossing her arms as she glances down to Youka as she collides with Klide "Klide...you seem to be a magnet for short semi-animal girls running into you today, is that just today or does that always happen, hmm? Holy shit, I thought I was sassy, this girl is mean, damn. Tell you what kiddo, lets not fight in the middle of Londonium, for several reasons. Klide is much stronger than you, but he's also nicer, so he won't fight. I dunno about his friend here, but a fight in Londonium with a low level character doesn't seem to be his style. I mean, I'm perfectly happy to fight if that's really what you want, but I don't think it is. Now apologize to my friend Klide here, he's being so nice, and you biting his nose off is rather rude, is it not? I mean, how could you be rude to a guy like him, unless you're me of course. He even took the blame for you running into him."

“I am well.” The Warden responded to Klide’s merry greeting, “Saskia is doing well as well.” not responding to the other questions and suggestions his friend had made. Those were tales for another time and another place and especially not something to be spoken of in the general public. A small staring contest had ensued between the Warden and the foxtail, at which the girl had given the Warden a small smirk as she appeared to be measuring him up. She then started to prattle on, verbally trying to analyse his character and composure. As the staring match and analytical prattling continued for a while, as Klide remembered to introduce the two of them. As Klide introduced his little female friend the Warden clicked his heels together once more and made a polite bow to the foxtail; “I am Bailin, a Warden. As for your analysis, you are wrong on several points.” The Warden said, interrupting the fox tail, his face becoming a minute bit warmer for just a second. “You are new so I will help you out with this; think of it as a favour because Klide seems to have taken an interest in you, which apparently is not romantic. For one: we have met for about five minutes, I will not judge you unless you give me a reason to judge. Secondly, I have no need nor desire to intimidate you. Your presumption of you being faster, more tenacious and magic is flawed. If this were the real world, you would be right, however: this is a different world, a world in which your levels decide a lot. At this point we are as followed: You are a bicycle, I am a car and Klide is a train. I can take on both you and your monster with ease; however, Klide will be able to take me on with ease as well. I however, have no such intentions unless you give me reasons to start harbouring such intentions. I was merely trying to think of something why Klide would be… accompanying or being accompanied by you, though I have found the reason.” The Warden explained, quite elaborately and very unlike himself. “As for my silence: I prefer practical conversation over long chats.” And with that the trio set off as Klide unveiled some of the personal information on the Warden. Bailin didn’t mind, it was nice meeting up with Klide once again and the cheer his friend had always had still remained, which was a good thing. ‘If only you knew what I had to do since we had last met.’ The Warden thought melancholic, ‘though I doubt we are as similar as you think, though if you indeed only recall the happier times, perhaps you could be right.’ [break][break]
“I would.” Responded the Warden as Klide invited him to join himself and Keyala for a basic training outside the city walls, slinging his riffle over his shoulder and holding on to the strap. Mere seconds later yet another wolf hair managed to bump into Klide, quite literally this time. Klide, ever the gentleman, almost immediately offered his most sincere apologies and his name. If this was his way of a pickup line, it might maybe, perhaps even work, depending on the type of girl. However, this one appeared feisty, asking rather aggressive and rhetorically if she appeared to be alright. [break][break]
“I think you might be right. It would appear Klide has a thing for tailed women or they for him.” The Warden said, agreeing with Keyala on Klide’s magnetism which attracted the furry ladies to him. “Little lass, I would recommend you listen to Keyala here.” Bailin said coldly, staring with his one eye at Youka. “Klide here is nought but a gentleman. I however, have developed a certain… lack of manners when it comes to those who harass those whom I call friend. Dreadfully sorry Keyala, but I actually would, as the little lass here is actually giving me reasons to.” Said the Warden as he quickly shifted his eye from Youka to Keyala and back again: ”I would like to invite you to join us, if that is alright with Klide, so you can show us you can walk the walk instead of merely talk the walk. I find your manners rather rude, considering Klide has been a true gentleman towards you, with you being a snappy, whiny little girl. Ductus exemplo lass.” The Warden continued coldly after the little girl stated she was going to hit Klide if he came near her and that she hated him; saying more words than he had in a long, very long time. [break][break]
Once the Warden had finished talking his lengthy speech, he patiently awaited the response of the others. ‘Great, those two tailed lassies are near complete opposites, this should be interesting.’ He thought to himself, glad he had his saber under quick swap. If the snappy foxtail decided to pick a fight inside the town, all the three of them had to do was hold her off until the Royal Guards showed up, something that would be rather easy as both Klide and the Warden were way stronger than the foxtail, leaving Keyala as their weak link, though both Bailin and Klide could protect her from the rude foxtail. ‘I probably can’t take a shot at her, but melee should not offer any problems.’ The Warden thought reluctantly as he preferred to shoot at things rather than slash and stab at them. Youka turned towards the foxtail girl and listened intently to her words. Well kind of listened... in all honesty Youka couldn't give a rat's butt about what the foxtail had to say but she might as well pick up what she could. When the foxtail finished speaking Youka took no time in responding to her. " It may or may not have been his fault. Either way I don't care. " she said with a dismissive tone before adding in a slightly heated tone, " I'll fight you if that's what you want, of course outside the city because I am no idiot. I mean I'm not particularly interested in fighting you, but I will if that's what you want. Also your friend?", she paused for a few seconds before speaking again, "Gentleman, my foot, he doesn't care if he was rude or if I was. He's merely putting on a show the general public."
Youka then stayed silent studying the foxtail and the human. She didn't know their names nor did she care all that much. She looked towards the human staring at him without blinking as he said things in a cold tone. Judging by his wording she could maybe get along with the human man, just maybe. Youka giggled after he finished speaking. " Does it really matter if I can walk the walk all that much sir? Or if I was rude with Klide and you? It doesn't really matter if I'm rude or not. It also doesn't change the fact that I pretty much hate all of you." Youka stopped talking and pretended to look deep in thought. " Also why should I come with you guys? I don' t know you and for all I know you'll just kill me once we get out of the city." She stopped talking again and took her fists down and had her arms at her side. Youka squirmed a little in place as she started to look down at her shoes. Her super adorable shoes. She then proceeded to look up at the human with tears in her eyes and a hurt puppy look on her face. " You wouldn't kill a harmless level one girl would you?" she asked with a slightly helpless tone in her voice. Inside her head Youka was smirking so hard. That little stunt she just pulled. They might not believe it or they could. It was all an act and might be interesting to see reactions. They didn't know her. For all they knew she could be having a bad day and was normally the nicest person around. Well in all reality she was a cold-hearted conniving little person but they didn't need to know that. Youka continued to look up at the human with the hurt puppy look and tears in her eyes. " I've just been having a really bad day today and I just snapped at you guys.. I promise I'm not normally like this..." she said in the same helpless tone before looking down at the ground as her tears started to roll down her cheeks and onto the ground. Youka started shaking with her tears. Ugh. I hate the waterworks. Klide was still ahead of his two companions, but he stood still now, waiting for them to be by his side so they could all walk together. He began by responding to Keyala's thoughts on Bailin. "Keyala, I do not think that Bailin has the intention to intimidate you, and I am sorry, but I fail to see how you and me being in a relationship would have anything to do with him intimidating you. Do you mean like him sizing you up to see if your worthy?" Klide jested to the Fox Tail girl. "I will have to disagree with you on your second point as well. As Bailin pointed out, his level difference with you means that he actually has the higher speed and magic, and though he may not necessarily have the amount of spells that you do, he has a larger pool of magic power than you do. The only thing you may have him beat on is your tenacity, but I am sorry to say that even that is not certain, not because of level in this case, but because of personality. But I do agree that intimidation out of no where does not seem like something Bailin would do." He paused and shot Bailin a smile "Ah, but to be described as a train is rather funny is it not Bailin? As it was not too long ago that we decided to build a steam locomotive someday. It has been a slow project so far, but our levels do not exactly allow for such a project, nor do we have a location.... Ah, But I am distracting myself." He listened intently as Keyala continued. "Oh dear, seems that I've made a fool of myself haven't I? I get in the moment sometimes and with how my mind is wired, sometimes I just say the first word that pops in my mind if it works. Both Sorceress and Summoner start with 's', and both are classes available in Elder Tale, and that was enough for my mind in the moment. I do apologize for the mistake." Klide was met with a short girl with very long hair bumping into his chest, to which he offered his apologies and his help and he knelt with a hand extended. He then turned to Keyala and chuckled over her comment. "No Keyala, this is definitely not something that happens to me regularly. I was never a magnet for shorter, semi animal, hungry girls running into me until today. And Bailin, It is not necessarily that I have a thing for them, though I suppose they are quite attractive, but that is beside the point. As for them having a thing for me, I would not know anything about that. I am not the greatest at things of a romantic nature."
Klide turned his attention to the girl who had bumped into him. She had just shouted "Do I look like I'm alright?" at him to which he gave a very simple response. "Well to be completely honest, yes. Aside from a bit if dirt on your clothes you look fine." She told him that he might as well stop the act, because he did not care about her and it was best not to lie to her. She then told him that it was best to try to keep out of the others way, as it was extremely rude not to. Klide looked at the girl, his face quite serious for a moment. And then he suddenly broke into a small fit of laughter. "I am sorry, but you may need a lesson in irony one of these days miss. Yes it is rude to get in someones way, but being rude while telling them that is not exactly nice either." He was met with the loud noise of her stomach growling, and then a few seconds later an "I hate you." Klide sat down. He looked up at the girl, who had stood as he had knelt to offer help. "I am sorry you feel that way." Klide said as he sighed, remembering the girls grumble tummy. "As for that hungry tummy of yours. I cannot really take you to a meal. Under normal circumstances, I would, but I am sorry to say that I have just come back from breakfast with Keyala, so I am rather full, and whereas normally I would make an acception and take you out to eat even if I were full, I am taking Keyala to some basic combat training, so my hands or full. I have a few sausage rolls I saved from breakfast in my inventory, if that is ok, perhaps that could take the edge off your hunger. I'm sorry I don't have more to give." Klide then offered the little rolls of dough and sausage, and listened to all the bickering, squabble, and badinage coming from his companions and from the new stranger. He began to think about everything they had said between each other, thinking of what some of their actions may imply. "I get the feeling that this small wolf-hair does not actually hate me. She simply does not like the me, which I suppose... I have not really given her a reason to. Maybe she really thinks that every action I have made since bumping into her is a charade and that I am simply putting on an act to impress anybody and everybody who may be around our little group. But that is definitely not the case." Klide suddenly found himself smiling a bit and his right hand was resting against the back of his head in the typical anime boy manner as he still knelt on the ground, watching and listening to all of the arguments from his friends about Klide being a good guy and a nice one, and about how they would fight her if she wanted them to. Keyala told the girl that fighting in the streets of Londinium was not the best idea, because Klide was much stronger than her, but also nicer, and fighting in the city did not really seem like his style. She then told the girl to apologize to him, because of how nice he was being. He even took the blame for her running into him, despite her "biting his nose off." She finished by asking how someone could be mean to a guy like him, unless that someone were to be Keyala. Bailin then gave his input, which Klide felt he should listen to, if possible, even more intently than he had to what Keyala had to say. Bailin had an air of coldness and severity around him that had not been there the last time they had met up, and he seemed more dominant now, but also a bit more distant, and possibly darker too. He started off with a warning, telling the girl to listen to Keyala because Klide had been a gentleman to her and on the contrary side of things, Bailin had developed a lack of manners for those who would harass his friends. "Ah, so something has happened. I feel as though I were a fool now, having been so light hearted when Bailin has gone through something major and dark." He thought as he listened to the Warden continue. He then told Keyala that he actually would fight in Londinium as the girl had given him reason to. But then invited the girl to join them so that she could back up her words with action. The Wolf Hair responded to Keyala very quickly and quite curtly as well about how it may or may not have been Klide's fault, but she did not care either way, and then added in a rather aggressive tone that she would fight Keyala if that was what she wanted, but not in the city. She then pointed to Klide and told Keyala that all of his kindness was just an act. "So I was right, she really does think that it is an act. Well, I do not really have a way of proving her wrong, aside from simple letting her get to know me, and see that I am a genuine man, and not simply some fake shell of a human being pretending to be something I am not." He thought as she continued. She told Bailin that she hated all of them, and to those words, Klide stood. He could not stand Idly as she insulted his companions, who had not done any wrong to her. "Stop please. Miss, Have we given you a reason too hate us? What have we done to offend you so? I feel like this is more than just because I bumped into you because, honestly, this is the first time someone in this world has told me that they hate me. I guess you could say I am used to that phrase, because the other world was not exactly always kind to me, but that does not mean you should go around telling everyone you hate them. You do not know me and you do not know my companions, so please do not just go and say you hate us out of no where. But I suppose, If you must say it, then please focus it on me. I am the one who bumped you, they have done nothing, so if anyone deserves your hate then it is I." He turned to his friends and thanked them for their kind words before turning back to the girl. "This does not have to be a fight. You say you will fight Keyala, but I recommend that you stay your hand and listen to my proposition. Rather than fighting against her, fight with her. Fight along side Keyala and learn the basics of combat with her. I was going to take her just outside of the borders of the city to train her against some slimes. You could learn a thing or two as well, could you not? That is you I think you should take Bailin up on his offer and join us. Provided that I am not given sufficient reason too, I will not harm a hair on your head or a thread of your dress. If you attack any one of us, then I will massacre you and you will feel the pain of my blades slicing you and the wounds I give you even after you respawn in the cathedral. But if you fight along side us, and if you try to learn the basics of combat with Keyala, than we should have no problems. I trust that neither Bailin or Keyala will attack you, unless you violate my rule,, so as long as you keep your attacks focused on the enemy, you will be safe from our attacks, and If you need it, you will have our support." Keyala looked down and then back up with a puppy dog face and tears in her eyes. "Yes actually, I would. I am sorry to disappoint you, but I would kill anyone who attacks my friends. Whether they be harmless or not, level one or level ninety. And please stop with the tears. My heart aches for them, although I know them to be fake. I pride myself on being rather adept at reading peoples emotions, and though I am not always one hundred percent correct, I feel that in this case those are crocodile tears. There was too much behind your words for it to be something as simple as a bad day. So as I said, please stop with the down pour." Klide did not use an aggressive tone. He kept a kindness in his voice the entire time, though it angered him to hear her say she hated his friends. Word Count: 1973 Total Word Count: 9212+1973=11185 Tags: Keyala , Bailin , Youka

"Klide...you're too nice sometimes., she's clearly playing with you, isn't that right kiddo? Or are you gunna lie to me too? I don't like liars, they're not worth my time. If you're gunna take something from us, then be honest about it, and maybe you'll earn some respect, even if we don't give you what you want. Or maybe you don't care. Either way, get up, stop fake crying, and come with us, or don't, quite frankly I don't care." she says, rolling her eyes, her tail resting against the ground, arms crossed "I think you and I will get along Bailin, you seem like a smart guy, and I'm used to people thinking they can intimidate me, glad you aren't. Now, back to you kiddo." she says, turning from Bailin towards the girl on the ground "So, are you gunna come with us or are you gunna continue to stay there? If you really want to pick a fight I'd be glad to oblige. While the others may disagree, I'm fine to duel you, two level ones fighting would probably be fair, and Rose could take on an assassin if I fight you right. Now I know Klide is going to be a gentleman and tell me not to fight, and that he really will buy you food, but I don't think you deserve his kindness, so if you want to pick a fight I'll let you. I don't know what Bailin is thinking of this, maybe he is thinking that I'm being rash, but I like to think that sometimes you have to act on instinct, or else you'll wait too long. Either way, stand up and grow up. I'm the only one who gets to act like a kid." she finishes, chuckling as she turns her serious statement into a lighthearted finish, looking over to Klide and Bailin, waiting for their responses.

In silence the Warden listened to the girls and boy talking back and forth to each other. It felt as if it took ages to get half a step forward, then two backwards and three forward. The big mouthed girl gave a giggling sneer of sorts, stating she, still, hated all of them and rhetorically asking if it all mattered. ‘I would and I’ve told you twice already.’ The warden thought coldly as he slowly started contemplating to execute the girl in front of them, just to make certain things started to progress once again. Klide remained with his attempts to make merry, though his attitude slowly started to show hints of him losing his patience, however so small and barely noticeable. Keyala called both Klide and Youka out for being too nice and putting up an act. On a happier note Keyala did think him and her would get along, which would make Klide rather happy. Now if only this little girl would come across the bridge even a small bit, just enough to get things going once again, Bailin would be very, very happy. [break][break] Remaining silent the warden kept listening to the remarks being flung back and forth as his facial expression hardened, as if he had lost all manner of patience with who was at fault and who was going to fight whom. With a voice as cold as an ice Wight’s heart, multiplied by a harpies scream and a dash of ice giant blood, the warden spoke: “You all talk too much. Come.” And turned about, marching through the gate outside. [break][break]

Youka stayed silent with tears still rolling down her face as she listened to Klide speak. As he was talking she stopped crying. There were tear stains all over her face from her fake crying, she wasn't very happy that he had realized that she wasn't genuinely crying but it was probably to be expected considering the fact that she had been aggressive and a lot of other hostile things before she started crying. If anything it was as if she had been like a feral wolf which was a little funny since her race was a wolfhair. As Youka stayed silent she heard the foxtail girl, Keyala, start talking and so she turned to Keyala and listened to her as she wiped the tears from her face. Youka geard Keyala finish speaking and then opened her mouth to say retort what was likely a sarcastic or angry thing to Keyala but nothing came out. She closed it very quickly and turned away before saying something for the first time in at least five minutes since she had originally started crying. " I think that I still hate all of you. Pity my tears didn't work. But now I'm in no mood to fight you. This is all starting to be a drag." She stopped speaking and turned towards Keyala again before adding ," I guess I could come with you. But it's not like I want to or anything..."
Youka then turned away from Keyala and faced towards the city. She looked off into space. It might be a nice time to maybe daydream about the old days, when she was still happy. But that was all in the past. She frowned. Why is this even popping into my head now. Must be the prolonged exposure to people. Still frowning Youka turned back to everyone after hearing Bailin say something with authority. She quickly followed suit and marched off to the gate slightly behind Bailin as she followed him. Keyala once again called Klide nice, saying that he was excessively so sometimes. "Sometimes? Hmmm, well maybe, but you have known me for all of an hour at most Keyala..." He thought to himself as she continued. She mentioned not liking liars and how honesty might earn some respect. Briefly, she turned to Bailin and told him that she thinks they could get along, which Klide responded to with a shallow sigh of relief followed by a slight grin, which slowly faded as he listened to Keyala talk about fighting Youka. "Now I know Klide is going to be a gentleman and tell me not to fight? Who does Keyala think I am? I am no saint, nor a preacher or priest, and I am definitely no monk, though I suppose in this world a monk is not very peaceful... Anyway, the point is I am not as nice as she seems to think. I mean, I probably would by that girl a meal despite her rudeness, but... well I would just as soon slit her throat and walk away not looking back." Klide thought as Keyala finished with "Either way, stand up and grow up. I'm the only one who gets to act like a kid." Youka had been silently listening to both Klide and Keyala and her retort left Klide's hand flying silently to his hip. Neither of the girls would have seen the movement because of the angle they were at in relation to him, and even in their peripheral vision it would be nigh impossible to see. But Bailin might have noticed. Klide's left hand had firmly wrapped itself around the hilt of the katana on his right side, the one he had named Fox. He let his hand slide off of the cloth wrapped handle and moved it up his belly, intertwining it with his right arm to stand cross armed as he listened to the girls talk. He caught her last line and under different circumstances, perhaps in a more uplifting state of mind, he would have laughed and said she sounded like a tsundere, but right now, he wanted very little to do with her. Bailin had decided he was done waiting. He uttered six words and then turned and began to march off towards the outer edge of the city, and Youka was shortly on his heels. Klide waited back for a moment. "Keyala, walk with me please." He said with a calm, but serious tone as he began to walk several meters behind the other two. "I am not as nice as you make me out to be. I try to be nice and I consider myself to be so, but I am more than just nice. I have not been through as much as some, and I doubt that I could handle some of the horrors others have faced in this world, but I am no saint. You say I am too nice, but you have known me for only about an hour. True, I made a good first impression by being friendly and treating you to breakfast, but that does not mean I would not strike a lower level down or that I would instantly oppose any fights between two level ones. You seem to be under the impression that it does mean that. I just want to tell you that you are mistaken on that account. As I talked to the girl after she said she hated all of us, I could barely contain my rage. I put on a happy face, so I guess I can see how you though I was being nice, but my blade was metaphorically already at her neck. I have killed several adventurers before, one of which I promised to let live, and then killed him any way. I am not telling you this so that you fear me or hate me. I like you. You are an interesting, driven, passionate person with a good head on her shoulders and a grand goal ahead of her, but I want you to know me as more than just kind. Every person has many sides, and looking at only one gives you a warped or incomplete image." He then went silent. He found that his right hand had managed to climb on to his sword hilt and now rested on the pommel of the handle, not in a threatening manner or anything, but close if needed.
