@serenityspace Mikoto @sugarygiggles @0x1dea Hirosame Midori The labyrinth that trailed off from the path designated as A by the Adventurers is a very straightforward route. The corridor ahead is designed in such an orderly fashion that it is hard to think that the labyrinth could be a natural structure. Nevertheless, as you reach the first room, a cube of roughly 10 meters in all dimensions, it becomes apparent of what you need to do for this route. The floor is extremely slippery to the point where it is hard to maintain any sense of proper footing, let alone controlled movement. Should you take a step in any direction, you will likely continue onward until you hit a wall or one of the large rocks that line the floor. It is hard to see what else you have in store for the path up ahead, as there are a number of rocks obstructing your view. However, it only seems that the puzzle gets even more challenging.

[attr="class","capsol"] As the group that were going to enter through the passageway to the north, otherwise known as Route A, it became very clear what it was ahead of them. Hiro had only just caught up to Artemisia and Oxford, without being aware of what it was before them all. Hiro's mind was still focused on having seen the image of the Amaterasu not too long before, wondering if there was any kind of a connection between this place and the spirit, though he had a distinct feeling that there wasn't. As much as he would've liked to linger on things, the present circumstance that the group had to deal with right now was somewhat more important. Before them lay out a rather slippery-looking floor pattern, with a large structure-like rock in the center. Aside from that, there were a few other large rocks in the floor, though those weren't quite as prominent as the center one. The place where Hiro stood at the moment seemed to be solid ground, which could be said for the rest of the group as well. Speaking of which, there seemed to be a few other people in the gathering at this point. Turning to look at everybody, he was made well aware of Oxford and Artemisia's presence. Whether they knew he was also there or not was probably out of the question, since he had run up to them and attempted to greet them, in a rather hurried manner. Aside from them by this point, it turned out that a few others were also there by this point. Dorian, someone that Sayha had mentioned a few times by now, had chosen this path as well. Considering that they were a Shaman, Hiro immediately wanted to trust this person with his life, since that was quite literally what their job entailed. Giving a nod to the Shaman, Hiro made a quick note. "Hey, name's Hiro." He began. "Sayha's told me a few good things about you, Dorian. Looking forward to whatever's ahead." As soon as he finished saying that, he spotted a rather familiar face among the already familiar faces. His eyes widening a bit, though so did his smile, he saw Midori there as well. "Midori!" He exclaimed, giving his friend and co-leader a bright smile. A wave and a nod afterwards, he wanted to run back and talk with her for a bit, though the current circumstances didn't allow for such things. Oh, and there was a horse here, too. Strange. Again, while he wanted to turn around and start talking with people, he felt an incredible urge to turn back around and look at the room before himself. The slippery surfaces didn't necessarily seem to friendly, though he thought that he might be able to walk across it rather carefully. However, he figured it better to probably announce what he was going to do, though preface it somehow. Either way, he reminded himself to activate Weaponmaster, and selected his optional weapons from there, before much else. Wouldn't do to go in without being perfectly prepared! "So, since we're here, and this looks to be our route of choice, I'm gonna go ahead and go out on a limb here. Gonna try and walk over this carefully, see where that gets me." He stretched his back muscles out a little bit, bracing himself for the possible slow movements he would be taking for the time being. "Here goes..." He said, as he started to put his right foot forward onto the surface. He slipped just a little, but was able to keep himself up. His goal was to get to the center of the room for now, just to see if he could understand the layout better, since he couldn't see the other side quite as easily. He felt a bit of confidence rise up inside himself, as he went to place his left foot onto the floor. His confidence very quickly vanished when he felt his entire body slip out from underneath himself, and he managed to start gliding across the surface on his back. The momentum wasn't too great, but the slippery nature of the floor at this current time was too potent, keeping him at a rather quick sliding speed. His feet hit the rock in the center not too long afterwards, and he felt a sudden shock pass through his legs as a result of the impact. Having hit his head on the floor when he slipped, as well as the now slightly numbing sensation from the impact, Hiro was very understandable dazed at this point in time. Letting out a soft "Ow...", he laid there for just a moment. A few moments later, he started to help himself up, using the rock in the center as a fixed point by which he could get up. Eventually, he stood up well enough, and looked over to the group. "Okay, so, can't be walked across. Found that out the hard way." Of course he felt stupid, as anybody would, since he had just fallen over onto his ass. He didn't let the embarrassment show quite as vehemently, since that would only cause problems. Instead, he decided that he would try and get some more ground, though he wanted to make sure that he had a plan from here on out. Sliding across the floor would probably be fun, but this wasn't really a scenario built around having fun for them. For now, he looked around the room, trying to formulate his next move. Tiny puffs of white breath swirled up in front of her face each time she spoke or exhaled, reflecting the cold air in a physical form. Before she had had a chance to properly greet the Guardian, Oxford, another familiar and comforting presence appeared in the form of the Monk, Hiro. Even though she wasn't entirely sure what was going on, it was reassuring to know that not only was she not alone but she was in the company of those she could trust. She smiled and nodded in greeting, also including Dorian and Midori in her silent welcoming. She did not know the last person, a woman with a horse, so for now she turned her attention back to those she did know. The group walked down the cavernous path, the walls cold and covered in white with thick ice crystals hanging from the ceiling and sides. They were definitely inside a frozen mountain, there was no questioning that. It wasn't long before they reached an area where the room opened up in front of them. It was difficult to see too far into the area, as rocks and other bits of stone blocked the view (not to mention caves are typically not the best lit environments). The group stopped to assess the situation. The blonde could see that the floor was shining, glittering in the way that solid sheets of ice tend to do. She internally sighed, last year she had wanted to ask Hiro to craft her ice skates and she had never had the chance to do so, now she was wishing she had. She rubbed her hands together, feeling a slight chill as they stood there. Her guild leader spoke first, announcing that he was going to give it a shot to go out there and see what was ahead. Artemisia watched him stretch and prepare himself, her green eyes looking him up and down. One of her blonde fox ears twitched curiously as her vision wandered and an amused smile crossed her features. She turned to peek over her shoulder at the others, wondering if they also expected the same thing to happen as she did. She wasn't sure if Hiro had never tried to walk on ice before, but surely he didn't expect it to be easy? She giggled quietly under her breath, although the puffs of white air would give her away, when his first foot touched the ice and slipped, just barely sliding out from under him. It was then that her amusement turned to slight concern when Hiro fully stepped out onto the ice... and almost immediately had his legs slide out from under himself. He flopped onto his back and, surprisingly, kept on sliding, off into the semi-darkness of the room. After a moment of silence there was a dull thud and a quiet word of pain. Presumably, he had hit something. His voice came again, stating that the surface could not be walked across. Artemisia laughed again, a little more openly this time, as the mental image of Hiro sliding across the ice replayed in her mind. “ Alright, well, there's no where to go except forward, so I'll be next?” The Sorceress offered, stepping up to the edge of where the floor turned into a slick arena. Having seen Hiro spectacularly, and a bit adorably, fail at making his way across the slippery surface, Artemisia was much more cautious. She had walked on snow and ice before, but this floor seemed especially slick. To help counterbalance her weight, she kept her feet firmly planted on the ground and sort of shuffled onto the ice, her legs spread apart a bit to help her balance. Her fox tail flicked around, trying to help her stay up as she wiggled and almost fell. After a moment, looking ridiculous with her arms and legs spread out, she was standing at least. Knees bent and face determined and deep in concentration, she took her first shuffling step... ...and fell on her butt. Cold and pain shot up her spine as her petite frame went sliding off in the direction Hiro had, only a moment before. She couldn't stop or stand and she felt a bit ridiculous but it was too late, momentum had taken control and she was going until she hit something. Hit something... “ Hiro, watch ou--!” The thought crossed her mind just a little too late and, before she even finished the sentence, she felt herself collide with something only slightly more soft than the rock she would have hit otherwise – the Monk's legs. With a loud sound, which was something mixed between “eep!” and “ow!”, she came to a sudden stop. Her entire body had crashed into Hiro's lower legs, which almost assuredly would have knocked the high level Adventurer off balance, especially given the slippery surface he was standing on. Assuming things went as one would expect they would in such a situation, the chances were very high that he would topple over, probably landing on the fox tail girl and making a very amusing and probably awkward game of frozen twister while they tried to stand, all the while sliding and slipping about and becoming more tangled. A human pretzel, one could call it. During all this, Artemisia's face would certainly be glowing with enough heat to probably melt any snow if it landed on her cheeks. -- Notes: Reusing Hiro's image here, as Artemisia took the same path with one movement. i.imgur.com/M2Qmipa.png. And so the newly formed group made their way down the rather straightforward path - literally, it was just 'go straight forward' - making small amounts of idle conversation. Looking ahead, the young Shaman once again noted the various people he had joined up with to tackle the corridor ahead of them. Artemisia, the only one he recognised, managed to include him in a rather quiet of sound greeting, his head bowing marginally in a show of thanks for the welcome. It had been some time since the two of them had even seen one another, let alone interacted in any way. Dorian hoped that would change in the future, after this rather interesting debacle; the fox tail Sorceress was a good friend.
He was surprised to find the rather obvious Monk step back to converse with him directly, the Shaman tilting his head quizzically, only to brighten up at hearing the man's name. "Ah, it is a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, Hiro!" He nodded his head, chuckling at the mention of Sayha. "Only good things, I hope; she's told me a little bit about you, but at the time we were in a rather troublesome situation; at least, troublesome for idle conversation, anyway." Dorian took a few seconds to recall back to the escapades down in the bunker, but quickly shook himself out of his reverie; not many fond memories there. "In any case, should be a grand time ahead, and I too look forward to it." The Monk quickly moved on to greeting another, who he no doubt knew from previous. A Guardian, it seemed, the woman was trailed by a horse; the Shaman was no stranger to the equine species, though it was the first time he had seen one within the new world. Dorian made a note to introduce himself later, when he had the chance.
Lastly, there was the other Guardian amongst their party, who for the time being had remained silent. Upon a closer look, Dorian recognised the man from a while back; the troublesome turmoil within the Abbey back in Londinium. It was good to have some familiar faces around him, even if he only knew one of them. Alas, the time for small talk quickly came to a close, as the party came upon the entrance to a larger room...
Hiro was the first to make an attempt at the newly discovered flooring, which at first glance seemed to have a sheen to it; almost like a thick layer of ice was covering it. "Oh boy..." It wasn't difficult to predict what would become of the less than eager Monk as he stepped out onto the slippery surface, the Shaman's prediction quickly coming to fruition as Hiro's legs were taken out from under him, sending him spinning across and out into the darker area of the room. Not long after, a dull thud was heard from the shadows, indicating he had found himself at a stop. Dorian was reminded of a form of puzzle from a particularly fun game he had as a child, but he couldn't call put his finger on the name...
Before he could bring his memory to heel, Artemisia had taken her turn at it; only to meet the same fate as Hiro, quickly falling onto her rear and zipping off into the darkness behind him. There was another thud, and a sudden scrabble of voices and limbs batting against one another; something told the Shaman that the two Adventurers hadn't collided very gracefully.
Finally, it was the next person's turn; looking to the others, Dorian gently nodded his head. "I'll give it a go... Let's hope I'm a bit more careful than those two were," he muttered, keeping his voice low so that the pair in the dark could not hear him. Stepping up to the edge of the ice, he knelt down first to gently rest his hand against the slippery floor, feeling the smoothness and slickness of it under his palm. "Incredible," he whispered under his breath; if this was a natural formation, it was a work of wonder; and if it wasn't, it was beautiful craftsmanship. But, there was no time for gawking; but, there was time for an idea. Grabbing at the hilt of his longsword, Dorian unsheathed it from it's scabbard, lowering it down to rest the tip against the ground behind him. "And now..."
Stepping off onto the ice, the Shaman was unsteady at first, but as he began to slide towards where the duo had disappeared, he managed to right himself, using the tip of his blade against the ice behind him to stabilise his balance. Furthermore, the ice seemed to give slightly, his weapon causing a faint line to trail in his wake, like the bread crumbs given to the children Hansel and Gretel as they traversed their forest. "Handy," he grunted, as the area ahead lit up slowly; his eyes went wide as he spotted the tangled mess of Hiro and Artemisia, only narrowly slipping to one side to dodge their mass of bodies and limbs. "You two might want to get a room..." Chuckling to himself, the Shaman shook his head softly, before turning to look at where he could go next. From what he could see, his only options were to slide back, or slide towards the right; opting not to backtrack, he made his move.
Once again steadying himself with his sword, Dorian zoomed off, slipping across the icy floor and gradually arriving at a stop against a nearby wall. "Wait..." This one would be more difficult, it seemed. With no outcroppings from this wall, he could go left or right from here. "Where to go, where to go," he repeated out loud, his head turning back and forth between the two options. Huffing under his breath, he chose to go right first, ending up at yet another wall. "Ugh," he grunted out of irritation, turning to slip back to where he was... only to realise where he was didn't stop him there. Almost losing balance with his mix up, he went sailing across the entirety of the room, ending up at... yet another flat wall. "Curse you, room designers. You torture me so." Resting here with his blade held firm, he waited for the others to make their attempts before going again. Coded by @serenityspace of LH

| | The Guardian was in the middle of another yawn when he heard someone call his name from behind. Turning to look, he saw it was Artemisia, the blonde fox-tail girl he met at a church for some sort of weird kidnapping case. All he remembered at that time was her, Skit, another guy whose name he couldn't remember at the moment, and losing his sword after poking an altar. Everything else after that was a blank.
He greeted her with a "hey" as she caught up. Not too long after the meet-up, the other half of BroCode showed up. Oxford pumped both fists above his head, letting out a loud "HIROOOOOOOOOO". It bounced wonderfully off the cavern walls. Further behind his bro, he saw the familiar face of the other guy who was at the church with him and Artemisia. Again, his fists went up in the air as he let out another hoot of greeting. Again, the superb acoustics of the cavern carried it all through-out the chamber like some sort of friendly air raid siren.
A couple more joined the motley crew, one being another face he recognized and a horse. Two more jovial alarms went off, the sound finally dying down as the crew came upon a giant room filled with ice. A looooot of ice. Hiro was the brave soul to experiment the properties of this slippery substance that clinged to the ground like a starry-eyed dreamer clinging to their hopes and dreams. The result of the experiment ended with Hiro sliding into the wall immediately across from him.
Artemisia soon followed after him, meeting with an almost similar fate (she stayed on her feet just a bit longer). Dorian (that's his name, right?) then took off after the two, using the blade of his sword to maintain balance as well as a much managable speed. Inspired by his ingenuity, Oxford decided to something along those lines. He pulled up his menu, flicking frantically through the pages until he found the item he was looking for.
It was a sword, but one that also had the ability to transform into a shield (a gift from his bro). With a couple of adjustments, the sword changed it's shape into that of shield (SIMPLY ASTOUNDING). Taking a few steps back, Oxford got a running start and leapt into the air, pulling the shield underneath him before crashing onto the ground with a loud ooomph. In no time, he was flying straight towards the others and most importantly, the wall.
Not wanting to use his face as an emergency brake, Ox tried to slow himself down by using the gauntlets on his forearms, but no luck. All it did was turn him sideways, increasing the possibility of bowling over everyone. Hopefully they could him careening down the ice, otherwise this was gonna be a rough tumble for everyone. |

Why are people waiting on me?
Welcome to all first-time spectators of this kind of posting style that got me nominated for last year's Best Posting Style. I'm not quite sure if I won. Nevertheless, here is a quick rundown of what Midori is doing just so the puzzle can be cleared more quickly. Considering that the puzzle can be cleared out of character in just about 3 posts, it was recommended that the group should clear it as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, Midori was having her own fun experimenting with how this dream state worked. As she had thought, she was not asleep. She could not conjure things out of nowhere (other than black magic). She was not able to suddenly fly (technically she could with one of the Tier III Heretic skills). Most importantly, she did not immediately wake up the moment she realized it was a dream (a moment much dreaded as it was usually at the good part). In any case, the magician had decided that she was examining the walls and floor of this abnormal room as others chose to explore it in a more practical way. A way that apparently involved awkward crashing or intimate bumping. That was their business. She actively strayed away from slapstick comedy.
What were the Heretic's findings? Nothing very important. The walls themselves were generic ice, but the gaps in between were moreso breathtaking, especially the frozen ice stalactites that jutted down from the ceiling in the distance. It made her wonder just whether it was possible to simply find an alternate route by exploiting the game in certain manners. Slippery floors? Simply crack it open and use it as extra traction. Unfortunately, such an idea was probably unlikely. For in this world, it wasn't simply her dream. It was the dream of several other people. And those people were probably not willing to find out just how strange this nightmare could get.
Now, onto the main point of this post.
Deciding that this room was simply a puzzle to traverse, she figured that it was impossible to just take slow steps at a time without ending up ice skating yourself of into the distance. As she did not have the ability to see from multiple angles (actually, she did - Midori made a note to use that skill sometime in the future), then it was to her advantage in exploring the part of the map yet to be discovered.
She ran forward. Then turned left. Took another right. And then another.
Midori's actions, summarized in 12 words. Enjoy.
"Twelve minutes to post as well, not bad."

[attr="class","capsol"] As Hiro had begun looking around the area, though his concentration had been swiftly interrupted as the Fox-Tail known as Artemisia had crashed into his legs, causing the Monk to fall over onto the ground atop the female. His body slammed onto the ground, though was cushioned rather nicely by the girl's form, which was smaller than his own. Still, his head managed to hit the ground not too long afterwards, causing some further dazing. He laid there for just a moment, until he regained consciousness of what it was he was doing, and where he was. Shaking his head around a few times, the Monk started to prop himself up a bit, though very quickly realized that he had placed his hand around the Sorceress' arm. He looked down and saw the girl's face, rather close to his own, and immediately began to feel embarrassed. From the side, the Monk heard a little side comment from Dorian, causing him to flush up almost instinctively. As much as Hiro wanted to jump up and get off the poor girl, he was unable to do so, as a hulking mass of armor managed to collide into the two of them from there. Having now been scrunched up against the rock formation in the middle of the room, Hiro started to get up slowly. His legs were still a bit wobbly from the collisions, though when he looked at the tattered mess that the three had very quickly become, he couldn't help but snicker at least a little bit. It was something right out of an anime or cartoon, with three friends having ended up in a rather twisted situation. Eventually, his chuckling had shifted into a full-on fit of laughter, causing him to almost lose his balance again. "Whoa!" He shouted, as he slipped a little, but was this time able to keep himself up, with the help of the rock. His attention turned to Oxford and Artemisia, a smile still on his face. In between laughs, he asked. "You guys okay?" After they gave their confirmation of either being okay or not, which he assumed was the likely outcome, he started to follow where Dorian had moved, since the Shaman seemed to have figured out something from a mistake he had made. Hiro began to slide across the floor on his chest, like an penguin, since that was probably the best way to go about moving in this area. In the meantime, it seemed that Midori had her own agenda, moving around the room in a different fashion. Hiro, however, had made his way over to where Dorian stood, getting back up slowly. "I dunno about you, but I can't see much from here." He said to the Shaman, getting back up and onto his feet. "Stay here a moment, I'm gonna do some scouting." With that, Hiro belly flopped and started to make his way across to the opposite side of the room. It was a bit of a long trek, though, but eventually, he ended up at the wall. From there, he could pick up how the room was entirely structured, and from there, he tried to figure out the best route. Getting back onto his stomach, he pushed himself over towards Dorian once more. Having seen all the sides of this room now, he was probably able to figure out the maze from here. Hiro slid past Dorian and ended up at the wall just on the other side, standing himself back up. "Okay, I think I've figured it out." He said, looking over at the rest of the party. It wouldn't be all that difficult to figure the rest of this part out, but what worried him for now was what would come next. That being the case, though, he needed to exercise his mind in order to figure these puzzles out, if more were like this. For now, though, he waited to see how everybody else moved, and would make his next move momentarily. Well, she could just make out the pile up of bodies at the rock. The collisions all could have been avoided if the group had taken a moment to stagger their departures and wait for the all clear. But as with any online game where you had to cooperate with others there would always be the Leeroy's. They didn't think much beyond the objective. In their current case clearing this room. They rushed in disregarding strategy or planning beyond "go in and hit it till it dies." They preferred to "throw shit at the wall till it sticks" approach which while workable in some situations was not what was needed in this type of predicament. But what could she expect from what was in all likelihood a group full of low blood average state schooling? They'd lived up to every pre-conceived notion she'd had thus far. She'd need to navigate this silly puzzle herself but first...
She turned to her brave stallion rubbing his nose with a gentle hand shielded by thick leather and covered by steel plate. Pressing her forehead to his she whispers, "Ewch ymlaen yn ôl at y fynedfa. Byddaf yn ôl yn fuan fy bachgen." Releasing his bridle she steps back as her faithful friend watched her for a moment before turning about and walking back the way they came. As much as she wished that brutish beast could come along with her and fight with her she knew he would not be able to cross the ice. Not without hurting himself in some way.
Taking note of where the pileup had occurred and taking care to attempt to avoid it she made herself ready. Pulling her rapier from her hip she gives it a quick swipe allowing it to turn into a spear. No sense flinging herself about in an unladylike fashion. She was higher birth than these commoners and would partake in such vulgar means of traversing the ice.
Driving her spear point into the ground she carefully steps onto the ice keeping a firm grasp of the shaft with both hands. Bending her knees like one would when one would skit she pulls the spear from the ground carefully before giving herself a careful push away from the wall. So far so good. Bumping into a rocky outcrop just to the left of the pile of bodies that was in the process of untangling itself.
The groups monk, their initial and apparently head Leeroy, was chattering away like usual. Apparently the words "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all Ddoubtl," mean absolutely nothing to this "Hiro". He'd lead the ill informed charge into said rocky outcrop. Then headed off without consulting anyone, she could see the HERO syndrome a chuckle worthy observation one might ad, running full course on this one. Noe idea what their sorcerer "Artemesia" was doing. she'd been in that pileup with "Hiro" and the other guardian "oxford". Their heretic had come to this starting point at first, she'd seen that much, but had since disappeared into the dark. And what about their healer, the Shaman "Dorian"? He'd gone that way as the three in the pile up. From what she could hear he'd managed to avoid the pile and headed off in search of the exit himself. Well, perhaps she had two other in the group who weren't going to toss logic and planning to the wayside for the sake of "FUN."
Releasing her spear with her right hand she places her hand on the surface of the rock. Feeling about for some kind of handhold she keeps her legs bent and he spear point resting on the ice. Finding purchase for her fingers Mikoto smiled slightly. In the dark none would see her smile as she pulled herself around to the far side of the rock. Or that had been the plan until she went careening across the ice and found herself barely standing in a far off corner of the room. Driving her spear once more into the ice she braces herself against the rock with her hand. Now what? She couldn't go left or north but hadn't heard anything to the effect of "I've found the door!" from the Heretic of the the group. Then once more "Hiro"s chatter floated to her ears. Something about figuring this puzzle out? How lovely. The boy could do something besides run his lips. Now would he share his discovery or keep them all in suspense? Mikoto waited for several moments for him to share whatever he'd figured out but was not surprised when the answer or theorem wasn't shared with the rest. Oh well, not like not knowing would get some killed for good.
With the silent heretic "Midori" to her rear somewhere it really only right or back the way she came along the wall. Taking her spear in both hands she leans herself back against the wall. Well, she'd found a wall. What she assumed was the back wall. Which could quite possible be another big rock in the middle of an even larger room. Hooray for level puzzles where it was dark and couldn't see anything. A game devs hidden ace for slowing down dungeon raids. Another hidden smile. A corner. Catching herself with an outstretched hand she struggles to stay standing on the ice. Such a shame a spear or blade point couldn't keep her footing with any more easy. Another middle finger in the face of the player base by devs who had no control over this world any longer.
She had options now it seemed. well two options. She could sit and wait for the rest of the group or she could try and find her own way out. The answer was clear. She'd keep looking. tag | 971 | Refer to Saki's map I'm not linking it here. There's a storm in her heart and the fire burns her soul

The horse-rider attempts to perform the task of moving diagonally. Keeping this in mind the original rules (If you are to move past the entrance, you will slide along squares until you hit a wall or rock.), this is your final position instead: Please continue to move on a four-directional plane.

Just as one would expect from such a situation, the Monk tumbled over and fell atop the Sorceress, creating a moment of blushing faces and awkwardness. From her position, sprawled out on her back on the ice, she couldn't deny she secretly enjoyed the view. Seeing Hiro above her, face tinged in pink, was not a sight she disliked. She hid the smile that threatened to give away her impure thoughts (especially after Dorian made his comment as he passed them by), although she couldn't control her own flushing face. A moment later, another force crashed into the pair, smushing her between the two boys, with Hiro most likely getting the most uncomfortable position against the freezing stone. She hated this even less, though – who could possibly mind being squished against two good looking and powerful guys? Not this girl, that's for sure. Artemisia couldn't help but smile as she thought about it. Surely, this had to be a dream? Where else could she end up in such a cliché situation with her friends? It was like a cheesy romance scene and all that was missing was the sparkles and bubbles in the background to signify to the viewers that moment when two destined people meet, without realizing they've just had a fateful encounter that will eventually change their lives (for the good, of course). Hiro, too, seemed to find the situation a bit too ridiculous as he burst into a fit of laughter after the trio had successfully untangled and were standing side by side, although a bit unstable still. As his laughter grew from a few snorts, to a chuckle and eventually full blown laughter, the fox girl couldn't help but smile and giggle along with him. It was a shame she would never get her opportunity to be honest about her feelings, although she was yet unaware of the future heartbreak which awaited her. Barely containing himself, the Monk finally asked if the other two were okay. Controlling her own laughter, although not quite ridding herself of the smile, she nodded. She was a little cold but otherwise, fine. A moment later, Hiro decided to go on and continue exploring the area. Dorian had passed them up not long ago, so they would probably find him again if they kept going. Hopefully future encounters would be a little less... impactful. Not wanting to fall on his behind, again, Hiro decided to take the penguin approach and went sliding off on his chest. Artemisia shook her head, smiling, at the ridiculous image of her guild leader belly surfing across the ice. This time, Artemisia waited a moment before continuing on. “ I'll be going then, Ox. I'm sure we'll see each other again. If I get too lost, will you and Hiro come and find me?” She laughed again, flashed a smile at the Guardian and pushed herself off the rock. With the extra speed and the practice from the first go, she was able to keep her a balance this time, although just barely. She wobbled and teetered the whole way but she made it across to the next wall to the right, the same direction Hiro and Dorian had gone. Here, she had two choices. She looked down at the ice beneath her and saw a faint carving in the surface. It went both ways. That was the exact opposite of helpful. She thought she could vaguely hear voices coming from one direction over the other, she that was the way she choose. Up, or, depending on how you viewed it, left. She went for quite a bit longer this time and was beginning to be worried about just where she was going when the wall, and Dorian, appeared in front of her. She also happened to come into view just as Hiro went skating by, heading right. Artemisia caught herself on the wall beside the Shaman and took a moment to catch her breath. It was hard work gliding across the ice without falling. Being as Hiro had come from the other direction, she figured that must not have proved useful. There was no point repeating his path if he'd already given up on it. Her two blonde fox ears twitched as she heard Hiro's voice – he said he had figured it out. “ Well, let's go then!” She said excitedly to Dorian and grabbed his hand. The poor guy wasn't getting a choice in this one. With a tug and a shove off the wall, Artemisia headed towards where she had heard Hiro's voice coming from. Her right arm was extended behind her, holding Dorian's hand in hers and dragging him along with her. The pair went the short distance to meet up with the Monk, managing to avoid a repeat of their first encounter. “ So, it's this way?” She had to assume, if it wasn't the way they had come and they were in a corner, it must be the only remaining choice. Grabbing Hiro's hand in her remaining free one, not releasing the Shaman in the process, she again kicked off, hoping the train of people would stay balanced. It seemed unlikely. --- Notes: Dorian and Hiro, I will change this if you two have any issues, so please just let me know. This post is very choppy, I admit and I should have asked first but I wanted to get this up. So yeah, just let me know if you're okay with what I did or not. : ) puu.sh/m6nKL/97bd3ac642.png I think that's 4 moves. Words: 858 Tags: Hirosame , Midori , @0x1dea , Mikoto , @serenityspace

In the brief moment that Dorian had taken to slow down and wait, much rabble had occurred out in the darkness; from what he could tell, the human pretzel he had passed earlier had only gotten bigger and more contorted, thanks to what sounded like one of the Guardians sliding in for a secondary impact. Releasing a gentle sigh and shaking his head, the Shaman hoped he wouldn't have to patch anyone up after this; it was only the first part of the corridor, or so he assumed, and he didn't want to think of what lay ahead of them. If they couldn't get through this, it wasn't a good sign.
Thankfully, his doubts were cleared as a familiar silhouette appeared from the darkness; a certain Monk that was humorously sliding towards him on his belly, as if a penguin traversing the icy tundra. It brought a smile to the Shaman's visage, his head continuing to shake as he moved to help Hiro up from the ground and stand up beside him. "I'm afraid my ability to see has been just as impaired; this room was cleverly shrouded..." Before Dorian could continue his train of thought, the Monk had disappeared in his penguin slide once again, zipping off into the distance. It wasn't long however, before he had returned, sliding straight past him and into the nearby corner a few steps away. "Welcome back, Mr. Popper..."
The Shaman merely chuckled, nodding his head silently in understanding towards Hiro as he remarked that he had figured it out. Suddenly, the sound of another sliding across the ice brought Dorian's attention back towards the darkness, where the fox tail's silhouette emerged, skidding slowly towards him. Artemisia managed to ground herself and catch her body against the wall he was leaned up against. "I suppose I should be thanking you, for not turning me into your next pretzel," the Shaman teased, curling his palette into a smirk, though behind his delighted facial expression, Dorian held a sense of concern for the Sorceress; it seemed her body was not cut out for the sliding process, her breathing evidence of her slight exhaustion.
Before he could say anything on it, however, he felt her hand suddenly take a hold of his; what was she planning? "I don't-..." His voice was cut off when he felt the tug, Artemisia already stepping off to slide across to Hiro; luckily, it was a short distance, so it was easy enough to keep himself balanced. "Quite cosy here, isn't it?" Dorian gestured towards where the three were now slightly squished up together, huddled in the corner of the room together. A humorous encounter, but one that didn't last long; the Sorceress was off again, this time dragging both himself and the Monk behind her. His reflexes a little slow, he managed to just narrowly get his sword behind him with his free hand, using it to steady and balance the train of people around him. "Warn me next time, would you please?"
The trio settled into the next wall, yet another corner for them to huddle into together. "Well, this has been fun, but perhaps splitting off for a bit would prevent any future Twister mini-games occurring." Dorian looked between Hiro and Artemisia, closing his right eye in a subtle wink. The Monk seemed to have gotten the hang of his penguin sliding, so the Shaman left him to his own devices. However, recalling the exhausted breaths he had heard from the Sorceress earlier, he felt it only fair to lend her a hand; hopefully she wouldn't mind being parted from her pretzel partner for a short while...
"Hold on tight, Artemisia," he remarked back to her, as he stepped off towards the only other available direction, which was forward - or left, if one was looking down from above - keeping a firm enough hold on the fox tail's hand to keep her from slipping on the ice. With his free hand, once again, he kept his sword upon the icy surface of the floor, using it as a third leg to hold the balance of himself and the Sorceress following close behind him. Slowly gliding off into the dark, the duo managed to settle against yet another rock face, this one a strange outcropping from the block in the center of the room; from here, they could go back, left, or right - right, down or up for a top-down view respectively.
Recalling where they had been so far, he assumed the exit would be towards the right, in the upper area of the room; glancing towards Artemisia, he gave her a nod, hoping she would trust him with where they would be heading. Holding her hand once again, he stepped off, sliding across the ice and slowly stopping against a large block of smooth rock. Taking a moment to wait for Hiro to catch up, Dorian turned to the Sorceress, tilting his head slightly to one side. "Are you holding up alright? This is quite the... intriguing experience." Even in such a place as this, the Shaman couldn't avoid being concerned for his team's well being; an occupational hazard, being a Healer. Coded by @serenityspace of LH

Well, there she stood. Cavalier without her steed she was now had her back into a corner. The floor of this room was iced over. So frozen and pristine was it that movement on it ended in an uncontrollable slide at the mercy of momentum. She'd found herself in what felt like a corner some distance from where she and the rest began.
She could just make out the chatter of others moving about. It was nice that they all got along so well though she hoped that when things got more serious than this that they'd zip their lips and only speak when it was needed. Though....
Pushing off the wall she skidded along just as all the others had. As she slid along the wall opposite, she hoped it was opposite, from where they had started out she slid past and opening in the wall. Bouncing off the wall as she reached yet another corner Mikoto pulled herself upright.
Now where? The way the unmounted knight saw it was the following. head back the way she had just come from which was an exercise in stupidity or she could send herself sliding along down the wall that she had her face towards. Pulling with a considerable amount of strength Mikoto propelled herself along the wall. Crashing into another wall the unhorsed knight of questionable nobility eased her bruised pride up off the frigid floor.
Yet another crossroads. Yet another decision. Another easily made one as well. Pushing off again the cavalier of the bay colored mount careened across the void of crystalized water and ambient cold. This trip was shorter the others as she made contact with yet another solid object. Now she had two options from this position. Around the corner of the rock lay the other guardian. Oxford was his name. Though the female guardian of the golden hair couldn't be completely sure if that was his given name or his user created name. Mikoto could head in that direction past the downed Oxford or to her right, again, towards the Shaman and Sorcerer. This presented its own problems to the silent knight of golden locks.
This would likely lead to one if not both of them saying something to her which would force her to speak. Ignoring them or not responding was not something someone of her breeding would do without good reason. At least not without exhausting all other options. Taking a moment to retrace where the hole in the wall she had first slid along was Mikoto tried to trace out a path in her mind. Immediately after the hole had been a narrow channel that a large rock created with the wall. If she could find that rock then she could find that opening.
Pushing off to her right again. Mikoto skidded slowly to a stop next to the twisted up mages. She said nothing and hoped they would say nothing. Transforming her spear back to its rapier form she slid it carefully into its scabbard at her hilt. Hopefully she could find that hole soon and hopefully be free of this ice puzzle soon. Alas, this is what we do in life

[attr="class","capsol"] Given that Hiro, the character, has been taken on a wild ride for a little while, thanks to the lovely Fox-Tail Sorceress and the brave Shaman Dorian, part of this post will be a chronicling from the author of his actions. And so, to and fro, does the asshat slide, with the Shaman and Sorceress bringing him along. Granted, I would love to have cashed in on this, and used their moves as my own, but I feel that that would be breaking the rules. As such, Hiro being brought along will also count for my own movements in this post. That being said, I didn't necessarily expect to have Hiro be carted along with others, despite how willing for a nice slide he would be. So I felt it justified to not give into what one would consider an 'easy out' and make new moves based on where Hiro landed. Instead, I think it'd be more fun to go the route I've taken with this, thus far, and hurry along the conclusion of this puzzle, so that the group may venture off to the next. Confused yet? Good. Because so am I. Anyways, I'll be getting to the actual post in a minute here, describing what it is Hiro does, in the way of moving. But, for that, I'll need to go back and re-read the posts of those who involved him in theirs. It's been about a week since the last post has been made, and to be perfectly honest, I didn't look them over since then. So I'll do that in a minute, but right now, I just figure I'd use this as a means to get a decent word count. Not that I'm trying for AP, despite how much I desperately need it (sarcasm), I would just rather that this post exceed at least 400 words to make it worth-while. Mostly because I'm a stubborn dork who doesn't like going underneath his own standards which were set way back in the day. And now, to the actual post: After having been toted around for a moment, Hiro watched Artemisia and Dorian sail off to the next stop. He had no other alternative but to follow from there, as the exit was very clearly in his sights for now. Upon reaching the same point as the other two, Hiro went ahead and patted Artemisia on the head. "Thanks for the lift." He said, in a jovial fashion, before zooming off towards the next point. He gave a nod to the Shaman as he slid to a halt over at the next point of interest, where he would be able to continue on in a moment. However, as he finished his slide, he ended up slipping and falling onto his back for a moment. So, maybe he wasn't quite as in-control as he wanted to be with this yet. Either way, he spent a few extra seconds getting back up, and then bracing himself against the rock to his back. Only a few more moves from here, and he'd be set. tl;dr Hiro go here: [newclass=.bbar]background-color:#050505; border: 2px solid #050505; border-radius: 5px; overflow: hidden; width: 175px; height:6px;[/newclass] [newclass=.bbar]background-color:#050505; border: 2px solid #050505; border-radius: 5px; overflow: hidden; width: 175px; height:6px;[/newclass] ∝: 518 ♫: Melancholy of a Noisy Girl ✏: --- @: @sugarygiggles , @0x1dea , Midori , @serenityspace [newclass=.capsol ::-webkit-scrollbar]height:5px;width:10px;background-color:#2c2c2c;[/newclass] [newclass=.capsol ::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background-color:#211f20;border-left:1px solid #211f20;border-top:1px solid #211f20;border-bottom:1px solid #211f20;[/newclass]

Somehow (magic, perhaps) the trio did not topple over and actually made it safely to their destination, which happened to be a corner. It was pretty obvious which way they had to go next, as there was only one choice, but she had stopped for everyone to take a moment, since she had sort of forced the two boys along with her. Dorian, the Shaman of their group, suggested that perhaps the group should split up to keep from becoming a tangled mess. She didn't necessarily like the idea of that and she was already growing more and more concerned that it seemed like Oxford hadn't caught up with them yet. Was he okay? They hadn't seen any monsters or heard any fighting so maybe he was just taking things slower across the ice and not being reckless about it, unlike some of the others in the unofficial party. Taking a page out of her own book, Dorian pulled her out of the corner, just the two of them. Surprised, she felt her fingers slip and let go of Hiro's hand, which she didn't even realize she had still been holding. Telling her to hang on tight, the Shaman guided the pair off to the next stop. Artemisia couldn't help but pout a little. She didn't dislike her current company but... she looked over her shoulder as they glided across the ice and sighed quietly. He would catch up, she supposed. It didn't take long for them to reach the next icy rock. The Sorceress didn't have any time to consider which way to go as her guide for the moment already seemed to know where he was headed. After glancing her over, he pushed off the wall again and lead her along. Hopefully their group would be completely reunited when everyone made it to the exit. Here, the pair took a moment to assess the situation. Dorian spoke to her, asking her how she was holding up. “ I'm alright,” She smiled at the Shaman, her breath coming out in little white puffs. “ I wonder where we are, anyways?” She wondered, her right hand gently rubbing up and down her left arm, attempting bringing warmth back to it. Only a moment later and her guild leader had caught up to them. As soon as he arrived, he patted her on the head. She flicked her fox tail in response, sticking her tongue out at him in a playful pout. Hiro, determined to continue, set off in the only direction possible from here, assuming one didn't want to go back where they had come from. Also wanting to be rid of the ice maze, Artemisia stepped back onto the slippery floor and followed after Hiro. She was sure Dorian would be behind her. They were doing a pretty good job not being separated at this point, so the hand holding didn't even pop back into her mind before doing it. It was a decent distance to the next stopping point but she, quite proudly, managed to stay upright the entire way. Just as she arrived, she saw her guild leader picking himself off the ice. She snickered, assuming he had fallen again. Using his shoulder to catch herself when she got close enough, as opposed to the cold stone, she skidded to a stop beside him. “ I think we're getting close...” She left her hand on his shoulder, half using him as support to stand and half conveniently forgetting it was there, while she looked around. The choice here was a little more difficult. She could go two different ways. Artemisia closed her eyes and tried to imagine the area they were in. She traced back her own path and everything she had seen. Before, she had seen Hiro going past her, he clearly hadn't found anything that way. So... where was that in comparison so where she was now? She traced the map out on Hiro's shoulder subconsciously, using the tip of her finger to trace the path ways, her brow furrowed in deep thought. She wasn't even thinking anymore about the fact that they were standing close to each other or that she was touching him, her mind was entirely focused on figuring this out herself. Chances were, she wasn't even aware she was translating her thoughts into physical motion. “ I'm going to try this way,” She said after a moment, having made up her mind. She turned on her heel and continued on her way. Somehow, she hadn't taken into account that the next stop might only be a few feet away. She hadn't seen the rock which came out of no where before she smacked, face first, into the solid object. She had given herself much more speed and momentum than she needed to go the very short distance. “ ...O-Ow...” She whined, her hands immediately going up to her head and cradling her face in her hands. If this were a cartoon, imaginary little yellow birdies would be swirling around her head right about now. The Sorceress rubbed her nose, still facing the rock she had run into, feeling embarrassed and angry. She was sure someone had seen that. -- Notes: tl;dr, Artemisia smashed her face into a rock but we're almost out of this thing! puu.sh/mhuhH/5dbff36024.png Dark purple is current location Words: 862 Tags: @serenityspace , Mikoto , Hirosame , Midori , @0x1dea

"...?" Oh, I probably need to clear this puzzle eventually. Suppose I'll toss another post together.
But more importantly, can you imagine just how this room's structure could have been built in the first place? It was as close to a smooth rectangular prism as possible, which would have meant a great deal of time must have been spent trying to form the walls in the first place. It was far from something naturally made by the landscape itself due to how smooth the floors have been this whole time. Even if the walls and ceiling were natural enough in appearance, it was just too perfect! Not even the presence of a bunch of giant rocks dotting the floor would have concealed this detail.
Come to think of it, what was with this rock that she had slid into from the side, anyway? It was the same rock that the others had chosen to start their first step with, except that this particular side of the room was just a little too smooth. Mirror-like even. The girl wiped a hand over the surface of the reflective frozen stone, as though polishing it. Yes, considering the aesthetic of this room being very much designed to be like one of those classic sliding puzzles, Midori wondered if such a thing were to be possible to design back at her place.
She would first need to research on how that housing guild managed to design the Ice Skating personal housing room. Perhaps something of this magnitude wasn't entirely possible, due to this dimension being most likely a dream, but no one could blame her for trying. Nevertheless, if all goes well, then the front of Hibernal Rhizome will one day involve a sliding floor puzzle that will take several posts to navigate. And then those door to door salesmen wouldn't bother to knock anymore. Quite a genius idea. The girl pulled out a piece of paper and started scribbling notes on its surface as she continued navigating the room with her peripheral vision.
Oh yes, you all wanted to know her movement choice, right?
Up. Right. Down. Left.
I'm not going to draw a map for this. I have more important things to observe and describe in unnecessary detail.

Well it appeared three now held hands. Which was cute in its own way. Such a thing provided stability she supposed. Not that it mattered on this frozen footing. If you were going to slip and fall you were going to and not a thing others could do would prevent it. It was like the fighting that had occurred between the Italians and the Austro-Hungarians in the first world war. Perched high in the Dolomite range the fighting was savage amongst those high reaching points. Many more died from falls and the brutal life of living at such heights than fell from bullet or shell.
And while she hated diminishing the efforts of the men who fought and died in valiant defense of their ideals with a comparison to a lowly game it matched in ways. To her left their Shaman and Monk were waiting against another rock and the Sorcerer had shifted south slightly. Two her right was the wall she had skidded along before reaching here. So there was no reason to head that way as she was sure there was no way to reach the opening she'd careened past prior. and south was assuredly another wall and the entrance. Not where she wanted to be as there was no exit from this damnable freezer of a dungeon.
Pushing as best she could she sent herself towards her left and into the groups Shaman and Monk. Murmuring an apology she adjusts and pushes off again towards her left and down in the direction she assumed the Sorcerer had gone. Colliding with the lady mage she once more mutters an apology while trying to get herself readjusted for another launch. She hadn't thought too hard about this most recent direction change. To her right had been the far wall and she knew there was no way to stop herself should she miss the opening directly and have to go around. Now where?
To her and the mages right(if you were clinging to the rock) was what she assumed would be the far most left wall. And knowing what she knew about the back wall and the portion of the leftmost wall there would be nothing to direction change off of should one go that way. This left only to left and onto the stone she'd passed moments before. Shoving off to her left she quickly collided with the stone. She didn't wait long before pushing off from there and sending her steel armored body careening into the opening that had alluded them all for too long.
Feeling the snow crunch beneath her boot and body was comforting as It meant she was finally off the slick surface. Easing herself up she redraws her blade. No reason to not be ready to fight off anything that might come wandering up from the depths of the cavern. Once were gods who walked upon the earth

A smile was a beacon of happiness under any dark and gloomy circumstances of the day, and it was good to see the Sorceress had managed one after their tirade across the ice. Dorian softly bowed his head towards her, saying in one gesture both that he was glad for her well-being, as well as... apologetic, for having pulled her away from her friend, Hiro. From what he could tell, there was some history there, and he felt rather ashamed of his own fears for the fox tail's health. However, Artemisia seemed to be faring well, spirited enough to focus more on their current whereabouts. "It's hard to tell with the rather... shrouded ambience of this room; but I believe we may be close to the exit."While he had no experience or ability as a Tracker, there was a certain sense of guidance pulling him towards what felt like the exit; either that, or he was just picking up on a draft. Speaking of which, the Shaman quickly noticed the shiver Artemisia had picked up, her hand absently rubbing at her arm to create warmth from friction. Looking down at himself, his leather armour was rather more effective at keeping his body temperature a manageable room level. Before he could say anything about the matter, there was motion nearby, as the Monk caught back up to them; whizzing past with a brush of his hand on the fox tail's head and a nod to Dorian, of which he reciprocated respectfully. The Sorceress was off rather quickly, as was to be expected, and the Shaman - no doubt feeling rather guilty for his actions of separation earlier - kept back for a few moments to let them move on ahead. While he waited solemnly, he was surprised by the female Guardian appearing from the dim dark beyond, muttering apologies before zooming off once more. Smiling softly, he noted to himself to perhaps attempt at conversing with her more after the puzzle was done. Moving his arm slightly, he smoothed his palm over the flat rock he had been left alone against, doing his best not to move his feet as he investigated the almost completely impeccable sheen that had been carved off the wall. Whatever had shaped this room was no doubt lying in wait for them at the end of their path, but what was the point of this puzzle? There was little danger in this wanton and reckless slide across the ice, exempting of course the pain of falling on one's rear... or into one another in a human pretzel. Was that what was awaiting them? A fiend with a love of slapstick humour? Shaking his head, Dorian released a heavy sigh from his maw, watching as his breath condensed into puffs of steam from the cold temperature. "Off we go then," he muttered to himself, readying his blade upon the ground for support before stepping off after where the others had gone. His first motion brought him to a further rock face, where Hiro seemed to have stopped. Giving the Monk a smile, the Shaman shifted himself to fall in beside him, stumbling slightly from the precarious position, but managing to steady himself at the last minute. "Lean away from the fall, not into it. Lean away from the fall, not into it." Words he repeated on the air, remembering faintly his experience ice skating when he was younger; many falls he had painfully taken that day. Skirting off to one side, Dorian just narrowly managed to make the same manoeuvre, avoiding a comical collision with Artemisia as he steadied himself on the rock; a rather short distance he had travelled, compared to the long reaching slides from before. So it was not surprising that the fox tail had managed to bruise herself on the rock face, rubbing at her nose to try and dull the pain. "Bit of a bump, I see?" Dorian cooed softly, doing his best not to spook Artemisia with his sudden presence. "May I?" He offered his hand forward, conjuring up some of his mana into his palm. Gently placing it upon the Sorceress' cheek, near where the damage had taken place, he used his Anima Gathering Talisman skill; a bit of an overkill, perhaps, but he was nothing if not efficient. For a brief moment, where his palm had been placed, a glowing, magically vibrant rune appeared upon her skin, the mana infusing itself there and swiftly absorbing itself into the damaged area to heal it, leaving no trace of bruising behind; when it's job was done, the rune dissipated, and Artemisia was left as if nothing had befallen her. "I'll uh... leave you two alone," he muttered quietly so that only she could hear, gesturing gently towards the direction in which he had just seen Hiro. Giving her a bow of his head, Dorian stepped off again, moving now towards the right - if one were looking from a top-down perspective. Finding purchase on the wall, he steadied himself, before glancing through the dark; managing to glimpse past the shadows, he spied the drafted exit to the cave. That or the entrance, but there was only one way to find out. Readying his blade, he steadied himself one last time - at least, he hoped - and pushed off the wall behind him, sliding outwards into the dark, his blade making a gentle scraping sound as it steadily worked over the icy floor; not enough to cut into it, but enough to leave the semblance of a 'bread crumb trail' for the others to follow. After a long journey, the Shaman felt the familiar crunch of snow under his feet; a welcome and pleasant sensation after the precarious ice. Swivelling his blade around, he sheathed it within his sheath upon his waist, glancing over at the Guardian that had passed him earlier, who seemed rather battle ready. "If you're holding the fort, I'll watch out for the others," Dorian remarked, bowing his head before turning to keep a look out for the rest of the party. Coded by @serenityspace of LH

Acceleration! Because choosing the left path to set the example (and avoiding the large sandwich of everyone slipping into each other), she effectively needed two more turns worth of posts in order to advance. It was best to do this sooner than later, because posting too late when everyone else had already finished the puzzle would have been a bit too much trouble. Who knew what else was in store for them in the room up ahead? So considering that the maximum cap on movement was about 4 moves and that clearing the puzzle took 5 moves, let's have another post. Except no, this one isn't going to be very serious in tone either. No, not when I only need to really do the minimum amount of effort to move this turn. It was only a single tile movement and it would have placed her in a position that would already have been familiar to others in this thread before. Still not sure what happened? Here's some narrative.
"So with this floor effectively nullifying friction..." Midori crouched down only to retain the same rate of movement she had been traveling at. "It's nearly impossible to stop or change direction midway." Sliding along the surface of the wall to keep her balance, the rock on her left side had ended, exposing the opening where all the other Adventurers had ventured. She'd finish the puzzle later. Her position right now was essentially where the Shaman and Guardian had been prior to their most recent turn. Which, if you still wanted to know the exact movement relative to her last position, it was simply just a single movement upward.

[attr="class","capsol"] Not much movement left to be made, as far as Hiro could tell. Given that he was just about at the exit anyways, all he had to do was make a few more moves, and he would be good to go. Judging by how the sliding maze had gone thus far, he had a creeping suspicion that the worst was yet to come. Hopefully something to fight was in the near future. That would make things all the more worth it, if he could make use of his current level and strength. Whether he was the one who tanked the fight, or became one of the DPS for the duration, it stood to reason that most, if not all, the hits he would make on just about anything would be like intense bursts of damage. The kind that knocks a person off their feet and blasts the wind out of their lungs. Just as he thought about this, he felt something budge up against him. Looking down to see the other person that had happened to be here, whose idea of breaking the game was to try and slide across in a diagonal had failed miserably, he heard a bit of a grumble as they continued onward. He thought nothing of it, though, since this person didn't seem to be the friendliest of people. All the while, Hiro looked back over towards the entrance, and wondered how Oxford had been doing, up to this point. It seemed that Midori had been making some decent progress, which was always a good thing to see, as well as Dorian and Artemisia. However, Hiro had to worry just a bit for his bro. Maybe he was taking another fried chicken break? Chuckling to himself slightly, he thought about the two buckets of chicken the Guardian had brought along to the guilds meeting at the station, as it was preparing itself to open. Ah, such days had been long missed. But, now wasn't the time to reminisce over such days, when the general populace of people seemed to be at least half-decent. This is a new day and age, sort of, and Hiro just had to accept that fact. While on the subject, though, he recalled that the Moonrise festival in Moon Dance Village was to happen soon, as the year had started coming to a close. Perhaps he would saunter his way over there very soon after being done here, in order to arrive for the festivities and such. It would do him some good to head over that way, anyways, as he had actually needed to go there to meet with the elder for... Something important. A grim thought flashed through his mind, as the vision of the fox had appeared once again at the exit. He snapped back to attention as he felt something drawing itself on his shoulder. Looking down, he saw the Fox-Tail Sorceress finishing up something in her mind, and then decided to skate off in the direction that Hiro would move next. He found it somewhat strange to have the girl draw something like a map on his arm, though very quickly, it was removed by the sudden slamming of Artemisia's face and body into the rock nearby. Following up with that, it seemed that Dorian had slid over nearby, and healed her up, before continuing on. The Shaman threw a little motion over Hiro's way, making him raise an eyebrow for a moment, but dispelled it quickly thereafter. The Monk slowly slid over next to the Fox-Tail, and placed a hand on her head. "You alright?" He asked, a slight bit of concern in his softened voice. He knew that she was probably fine, maybe more embarrassed than anything, but figured it would be good of him to ask and make sure, just in case. "We're almost done with this one. Let's go!" His voice escalated to a higher point, as was how he usually spoke, as he shifted his hand to Artemisia's arm. "Your turn!" Hiro said, starting to slide forward, while dragging the girl with him. She had taken Hiro on a small tour beforehand, so it was only fair that Hiro do the same, right? Besides, it was only two more moves from there. She could make it, probably. Bringing the Fox-Tail along, Hiro slide from the one stop to the exit from there, almost tripping over himself as they reached snow. Having reached the exit from here, he felt a bit of reassurance in having completed this little puzzle. With that thought having been finished up, Hiro looked over to Artemisia again, a smile on his face. Bringing up his thumb to her, giving her a classic thumbs-up, he turned back around to face the other two that were there already, and then to what lay beyond them. Map: Over there -> | | As per usual, Oxford had no idea what was happening. Maybe if the author had been paying attention to what everyone else was doing, he wouldn't be perpetually stuck in this damning conundrum. In the sleepy haze of his mind, Oxford was vaguely aware of a couple people talking to him after colliding wonderfully with the solid rock wall in front of him. Then suddenly, they were gone.Luckily, trails remained behind from those who went on before him. Again, the author paid no mind as to who went where, (damn it, man, why do you have the incredible inability to focus?) so he decided to take this Guardian on a route similar to what they were taking. If you have come expecting an average post to whet your appetite, I'm afraid you must sate your literary hunger elsewhere. Anyways, Ox went over there, then turned here and went that way, made another turn and hit another wall, then went down there. |
