Three roleplay subclasses. At one time. That was quite the feat… if it was true, of course. That was the most popular rumor being spread around at that moment in time, and Sayha took her time looking into it. At first, all she could find out were things she had already heard the first time. No new details whatsoever. It made Sayha slightly mad, but at the same time, it made her more and more determined to figure out what in the world was going on. She contacted Saiph many times, but even he with his extensive information network wasn’t finding anything out… which was rather rare. Usually he at least knew people that knew people, but not this time.
Despite not finding much, Sayha took her time and continued to listen to the rumors going around Londinium. She even took her chanced and went in crowded areas despite the fact that it made her feel like she was drowning. So far, the main thing she knew was that it was a man who had three roleplay classes, and that the person seemed to be giving out things for free. It was quite an interesting combination, and Sayha was still trying to figure out what to make of it.
“I’m starting to wonder if this rumor is true or not,” Sayha said to her Myobu companion, Yuki, when she was taking a break from the crowd, sitting on a bench in one of the alleyways.
“<Well, I think it’s true. It’s too strange not to be, if you ask me>,” Yuki replied. She was in her usual position which was on Sayha’s shoulders.
“Well, it at least makes me feel better,” Sayha sighed as she stood up again, “Let’s head to the train station. Maybe we’ll find better luck there.”
“<Assuming you don’t die of suffocation>,” Yuki giggled.
“Thanks for the vote of confidence,” Sayha rolled her eyes as she made her way through the alleyways towards the train station.
Pattington Station was located near central Londinium, and it gave Sayha plenty of time to listen in to the prattle of everyone she passed… then there was something that finally caught her attention.
“So have you met Alasdair yet?” one person said.
“Who in the world is that?” a second person spoke.
“He’d that guy up in Avon who had the three roleplay classes,” the first person responded.
“No way,” the second person seemed surprised, “I thought that was a joke going around.”
“No joke,” the first person smiled, “He seems to be an interesting guy… though I think you ought to head up there with a group.”
“<Seems the rumors are true>,” Yuki echoing Sayha’s own thoughts.
“Up to the frigid north once more,” Sayha said quietly under her breath, “Think we should find a group?”
“<Probably>,” Yuki responded, taking her time to relax as Sayha walked through the doors of the station. She sighed, looking around to see if there was anyone she knew. She wasn’t particularly for the idea of going up in a group, but she figured it couldn’t hurt.
Sayha didn’t think Saiph would be interested. Her questing friends, Dorian and Weaver, had been busy as of late… Weaver she actually hadn’t seen around in a while. Her boyfriend Hiro was super busy with the running of the train station so she didn’t want to bother him. Maybe she’d run into some people in the station itself that she was at least acquainted with.

You knew that a rumour was all prevailing when even Jane ended up hearing it, considering her foolishly self-imposed exile on everything human interaction the last few months it really brought light to how much excitement the idea of an extra subclasses was. If anyone really thought about it though, the reason it was so exciting and talked about was rather simple - it was something new and unheard of within the entire game world. Probably one of the biggest issues people found these days - at least the higher level ones that is - was how samey everything got when they got to the higher levels. Sure there was the occasional new raid or dungeon that popped up, and people piled onto those as it was, but this was something never seen before. And if how vague the rumours were, it probably hadn't been seen in the first place. The main thing that had drawn Jane out though wasn't this talk of classes, but how talked up this 'Alasdair' was as a medicine man. The rest of the rumour could fall flat (though she was thankful of the waves that part had caused, allowing her to hear of them) but if she could talk to him about what she felt was ailing her, perhaps it would all be worth it? There was no way that Jane was the only person going through all the changes that came with swapping genders when they all came into this world, but everyone else she met seemed to be dealing a little better. Short term Jane had been fine, all excited to try out being her own character, but now? It didn't sit quite right with the chibi guardian like it used to, and if it took one of the NPCs of the world to help her along so be it. The frosty north was not one of Jane's regular haunts, though she was at least somewhat familiar with it these days after a trip or two this way over the last few months. At the very least it meant she knew the way, and her tentative excitement made it so she didn't mind travelling the main road among the steady stream of people this whole story seemed to be attracting. The larger groups of jovial adventurers didn't really slow her down, on her own Jane was able to overtake them without much effort, and the smaller ones that seemed to be trying to get there alone didn't seem all that interested in talking either, which sort of suited Jane a little. It wasn't until she caught sight of some rather striking features of one or two people that the chibi could have sworn she'd seen somewhere before that she did a double take and almost considered approaching them for a moment. Almost. Maybe trailing a little closer to people wasn't a bad idea if it meant running into potential friends again? W: 489 Tag: @shadowsaiph @bornfromvelvet Capsule

Katarina scoffed. "There's no way that rumour's true." Out of all of the rumours that Katarina had heard in her time in Elder Tale, this one was the most ludicrous. Three roleplay subclasses? There was no way it was true, the idea of it was simply too far-fetched for Kat to believe. Anyone with a brain could tell you that this wasn't possible within the constructs of the game, and while one could argue that the rules of the game have already been broken countless times already with the invention and construction of things such as the train, it still sounded too strange to be true. For whatever reason though, the adventurers of Londinium would not stop talking about the rumour, despite its absurdity.
Which lead her to her current situation. "Oh come on, you don't know that." the blonde man in front of her said, brushing some hair out of his eyes. "I mean, there's no proof that it's not true.""There's also no proof that it is true, and I think that evidence proving that this mystery man with the subclasses actually exists is kinda necessary when making a claim like this." Kat rolled her eyes, wondering how Cecil actually believed this rumour.
Cecil grinned. "Ah! See, that's where you're wrong!" Kat paused. Wait, what? "You see, I overheard these two guys in the station talking about the rumour - hey, don't walk away, I swear I actually got some information out of this - and, get this, one of them has actually met the guy!"Well then. That changed things significantly. It also seemed very, very convenient that Cecil just happened to walk past the one person in Londinium that actually knew more information about the subject at hand, but hey, stranger and more coincidental things have happened in the past. Although, one thing in particular stuck Katarina as odd. "...why did you not mention this before? We've been talking for about fifteen minutes now, and only now do you bring this up? This important piece of information that would've ended this debate on whether the rumour was true or not almost immediately?" Cecil grinned once more. "I like to annoy you." Figures.
Katarina sighed, exasperated with her friend's antics. "You know what, never mind, just tell me what you know so I can leave and not talk to you again for a while...""Harsh. But fair. Anyway, from what I heard, the guy's name is Alicedar, or Alasdair, I dunno, I wasn't really paying too much attention. It's something like that." Kat was going to murder this man. No one will find the body. "Apparently he's located up at Avon, so you probably shouldn't go alone-""You're not coming with me."Cecil shrugged. "Well, I tried. Anyways, that's about it, really. If you want to get more info, they might still be up at the station if you're quick."Kat uttered a quick thanks in the Summoner's direction before taking off towards the train station.
...It took her until she got to Pattington to realise that she somehow had forgotten to ask what the two people looked like. Katarina cursed quietly before sighing, slumping onto a nearby bench. 'Well then, that was pointless...' she thought to herself as she mentally berated herself for somehow forgetting to ask something so important. Well, she supposed she could still check around the station anyway, see if anyone else knew anything...

[attr="class","solcap"] Word on the street was that there was some Lander fella by the name of Alasdair, a supposed medicine man who did not know the value of money. According to the rumors, he also had three roleplaying subclasses -- count ’em, three! Capsule was skeptical, and rightfully so. Sure, this world had a habit of inconsistency and outlandishness lately, but it seemed highly unlikely that such a thing was true.
Outrageous, truly truly outrageous.
Capsule leaned back in her perch atop the back of her tall and fatherly Snowfield Bear. The two of them were heading off to Avon, not so far from the hole in the mountain they called home. The Enchantress was curious about this Alasdair individual, but more so out of concern of her wallet. A Pharmacist in her area that ran around handing out his wares could be potentially dangerous… unless he was a small fry. She cared little about the simple stuff, as in medicinal tablets or corrosive acid, but the higher tiered concoctions were her bread and butter.
So in order to keep the competition from getting too big for its britches, Capsule intended to have her darling bear scare the piss out of the Lander. Maybe even kick down his stand, while she was at it. Again, this was under the assumption that he was handing out some very dangerous toys to the general public. Capsule was not just going to roll up on his crummy little stall and smash the thing to pieces…
Maybe. It depends on how generous the bear was feeling.
«So. Here is plan. We go in, I Bulldoze pitiful stall and likkle merchant, you set remains on fire. Is good, da?» In hindsight, it might have been wise to get Kasper involved, instead. The reindeer was as cool as the crystal it was wrought from, and not so quick to resort to violence.
«Hey, we said we were going to check him out first.»
The smoothness of her ride dropped as the bear swept one paw through the air, heaving an exasperated sigh. «Cappa, my little bear, my Mishka. I tell you this because I love you. When there is another bear sniffing at your mate, do you wait and see? No! You go up to him--» The bear reared up on his hind legs, massive paws curled and at the ready. «AND SLAP HIS HEAD CLEAN OFF SHOULDERS!»
A small werecat walking near them shrieked as the bear suddenly slammed a paw into a young tree, splintering it. Capsule was so used to this by now, that she was more concerned with falling off than appearances. «We must strike first, get the upper hand! Put mate thief where he belongs. Aleksei make same mistake once. Never again! That goes for red cub, too.» With a huff, the bear dropped back down to the ground.
As the two stepped into Avon, Adventurers and Landers alike cautiously stepped out of the way of the polar bear. Capsule could only imagine the bear wore quite the intimidating expression. He was a grumpy old bear, with mostly pure intentions. Capsule just wished he would listen to reason. After taking some time to look around, Sayha saw two faces that she recognized, even if it was only slightly. The first person that caught her attention was a female guardian, Jane. Sayha recalled meeting Jane rather briefly during the festival at Moon Dance Forest earlier that year.
“<One down>,” Yuki said to Sayha, ears twitching.
Sayha rolled her eyes at the Myobu but made her way over to the guardian. “It’s nice seeing you again, Jane,” Sayha greeted the guardian, “I’m sure you’ve heard the rumors by now about the Lander up in Avon with the three subclasses. I’m getting ready to head up there now to check it out. Would you like to join me?” Sayha waited for the guardian’s response which hopefully was a yes. She also made sure to send Jane a party invite. In the meantime, another person she recognized came into her view. It was the fox tail Katarina. Sayha had met Katarina originally while doing a quest with Dumah, Weaver, and some others who she really hadn’t seen since then. Though Sayha did recall seeing the foxtail in the weird dream-like event with Fenrir and the ice caverns. She was a cleric which could potentially be useful if her group ran into trouble. In any case, it was worth a shot asking her.
Sayha made her way over to Katarina who was now sitting on a bench, “Long time, no see, Katarina. I’m getting ready to head up to Avon to investigate the rumor of the Lander with the three subclasses. Would you care to join me? Oh, this is Jane, and she will be headed with me as well.” Sayha waited for her response as well. Once she did give her response, she shot Katarina a quick party invitation and glanced over at the train departure times that was posted on the wall not far from the bench. It looked like a train was just getting ready to leave Londinium for Avon. Time to move. “It looks like a train is about to leave, we should get going so we don’t miss it,” Sayha nodded to her two companions.
Sayha had no problem making her way through the maze of platforms to the right one, but she took her time, making sure that the two companions weren’t getting lost in the crowd. Once she was at the right platform, Sayha found a train car that had a very minimal amount of people and took a place in a booth that had enough room for four people. Yuki jumped down off of Sayha’s shoulder and into her lap and got comfortable.
After a few moments, the train began to move, and the adventure to Avon began. It took a while to get there, but it would have taken much, much longer to get there by foot. Once the train stopped, Sayha disembarked and looked around, Yuki back in her position around Sayha’s shoulders. Now came the hard part of finding the Lander. “Even though it will take extra time, we should probably just stick together,” Sayha said, turning to Jane and Katarina.
It was then when Sayha heard something very large moving through the streets… and it sounded very much out of place. She made her way down the road to see what the noise was… and was greeted by a very large polar bear… and it didn’t look too happy. On top of the bear was a familiar name though not a familiar face. It was Capsule, an enchanter Sayha had met a few times now. It had been a while since Sayha had seen Capsule… possibly before Sayha changed her appearance. It seemed that Capsule too had changed her appearance.
“<That’s kind of intimidating>,” Yuki pulled closer to Sayha, and Sayha patted Yuki’s head. Whether the bear was intimidating or not, Capsule would be a very good person to have in a party. Hopefully Jane and Katarina weren’t too far behind.
“Hey Capsule!” Sayha called out to the enchantress, “Are you here to find out about the Lander as well? If you are, would you like to join the party?” Sayha waited for the enchantress’ response before sending her a party invitation. Four members including Sayha. That sounded like a pretty good number to her considering she had started out with just herself.
Once the party settings were in order, Sayha lead the group through Avon, following a few groups of people as they seemed to be talking about the medicine man. It didn’t take long for the party to reach the man… at least that was what it looked like. On the corner of one of the roads was someone passing out vials of some sort of potion it appeared. Sayha checked her interface, and it did indeed showed that the man was Alasdair… though it didn’t look like what she had pictured in her mind. The man seemed nice enough, but his clothes seemed kind of ragged which was strange considering that he wasn’t being given any gold for the potions he was handing out. So he definitely was doing it for some reason… the question would be what the reason was. The real question to Sayha, though, was how he had three roleplay subclasses. Apothecary, Courtesan, and ???... It was rather interesting.
Sayha made her way towards the man, and he turned to the group with a smile. “Ah, come closer, my friends,” he said, “My name is Alasdair. Are you in need of any healing tonics?”
“Healing tonics, no,” Sayha responded, “My name is Sayha and my companions are Jane, Katarina, and Capsule. We are curious as to who you are as we’ve never heard of anyone with three roleplay subclasses before.”
“Ah, many people seem to be interested in that as well,” Alasdair nodded, “I am a traveling medicine man, and I’ve been traveling for quite some time now. Most of my time has been spent in the North in the Scotian Empire. Up north, I was quite needed on a regular basis. Just two weeks ago, I was a healer needed in a battle between two northern clans. I, of course, being a third party was requested on both sides. I did what I could to help both, but even then it never seems to be enough. I had to move on from the front as there was another village that was in more desperate need of my attention. There was some sort of illness that overtook most of the villagers, so much that you could almost feel the sickness in the air.”
He continued to talk about some other events that happened up north, and Sayha listened. She had been hoping to head up North to explore new territory for a while, and it seemed that the opportunity to head north was now right in front of her. She couldn’t very well refuse it… also, he seemed to be dodging the question regarding the three subclasses. Maybe it was a mystery that could be solved by heading north… two birds with one stone.
“That sounds very interesting,” Sayha said when there was a pause in Alasdair’s talking, “Is it possible for you to take us up north?”
“Enjoy going head-first into adventure?” Alasdair asked, “Well, I will happily be your guide. The northerners aren’t always open to outsiders so having a guide certainly wouldn’t hurt. I will gladly be your guide. However, I have some other villages and towns that I must go to while I’m here, but the visits shouldn’t take long. There is not nearly as much fighting here as there is up north. I will gladly meet you here tomorrow… say in front of the local in? That will give you a chance to gather supplies… and I do suggest getting some. The journey can be dangerous for the underprepared.”
“Thank you very much,” Sayha nodded, “We will meet you there then.”
Alasdair nodded in return before turning and going back to a small group, handing out more potions and such.
Sayha took the time to turn to the group, “I think heading north will be the best way to find out more about the subclasses. Though I understand if you’re not up to heading there; no hard feelings if you don’t want to go. If you do want to go, we should discuss how we want to do the supplies and what we should get.”

Thankfully fate took the decision out of Jane's hands and the person to approach was actually Sayha. The elf wasn't the only person nearby that she recognised in the nearby crowd but she certainly stood out that bit more as someone she'd actually approached with the desire to talk with, rather than someone she just happened to end up nearby once upon a time. "It's been a while since someone's said that." Jane quipped with a smile, trying to show she wasn't being harsh with her self deprecating humour. "I would like to meet him, yes. Company is always welcome when travelling so I might just tag along."There was a slight wistfulness in Jane's voice that probably suggested just how much she was craving said company right about now, but lately hiding her feelings like Cedric was able to was becoming a bit trickier, part of why she was doing this right now. Jane fell in next to Sayha once she'd accepted the party invite, staring for a moment at the little creature she was carrying around with her and deciding against attempting to pet it. Her time with Jacoben and his grumpy pet crow had really put her in a distrusting mood when around Animal Trainer's pets. "Is there anyone else around you were planning on asking?" Jane queried as the purple haired elf took a moment to glance around the place, seemingly for more people. The rest of her suggestion however fell away as the one other person around that she'd noticed was quickly approached by the assassin and all but dragged into their slowly forming group. "Hi, again? Sort of?" Jane queried, her memory of meeting the foxtail a little off, though she was sure they'd met in a tavern or inn once before. Before the two were even given a few seconds to get to know each other, Sayha was dragging them off through a warren of confusing train platforms and onto a train in the direction they were going, or at least Jane assumed it was the direction they were going. The chibi guardian didn't have much knowledge of the train network beyond 'it was there' and she certainly hadn't been on one of them before. Or at least one in this world. The trains were surprisingly comfortable considering the 'technology' level of the world, but Jane didn't have a complaint about that. All she wanted to do was get out there and talk to this strange man, probably alone if she had a chance. Jane would spend most of the trip staring out the window, not really sure where she was standing in relation to the two other girls in the booth, though more than willing to chatter with them if anyone brought up a topic she was able to join in on. When they finally did arrive Jane stuck close to Sayha even before her suggestion of sticking together, she didn't want to get lost before even leaving the train station and the rest of the town wasn't that familiar to her either. It worked out even better, apparently the assassin knew everyone as they ran into (or almost got trampled by) someone else she recognised. The chibi guardian was a bit too intimidated by the giant bear she was riding on to do more than squeak out a greeting if greeted in turn. Jane mostly stuck to following the group from there, feeling a little alienated from them despite the fact that she'd been invited along first by the party leader. she could be stupidly self conscious like that. While being preoccupied by her own thoughts, Jane hardly payed attention to how the place looked, simply keeping a basic mental map of the streets they were walking through so that if she got lost she'd at least be able to backtrack to the trains. It'd take a bit for anyone to be able to draw her into a conversation but she would answer questions if asked. Soon she would also be swept up by the chat with Alasdair, trying to follow what her and Sayha were going on about and not finding a moment to interject and ask him about what she'd come here to do. By conversations end, she knew a bit more about the NPC, and had now been roped into an expedition up north for whatever reason. Normally Jane would have objected to such a thing, but as she hadn't had a moment to speak to the man, and it meant shed probably get a chance along the way, she couldn't help but agree to continue her 'tagging along'. "Well, I guess north it is." Jane said as the group left Alasdair to his work, "Does anyone actually know what's up north? If this were the real world I'd say more cold and even colder, but I know that they didn't exactly copy everything exactly... What are we going to be getting into up there?" Katarina was just about to get up when she heard a familiar voice speak her name, smiling slightly as she realised who it was. "'Long time no see' is right. Well, I mean, there was the whole dream thing, but I don't really think that counts." Katarina had only met Sayha twice before, once during Dumah's little quest to hunt down some bandits, and once during the aforementioned dream event. For some reason, she didn't really seem all that trusting of the Cleric during the dream, but whatever suspicion the girl held for the fox tail seemed to have dispersed. Kat just chalked up her weird behaviour to the equally weird situation they were in.
The elf explained that she was going up to Avon to investigate the ever so popular rumour of the Lander with three subclasses, and wanted Kat to join her. Man, everything seemed to going Kat's way all of a sudden, didn't it? "Actually, I was thinking of going up there to check out that rumour anyway, so this is honestly rather convenient for me. You can count me in." Kat said, her smile widening. This was perfect.
Memories of alcohol started flooding Kat's mind as Sayha introduced her to another Adventurer she was taking to Avon. Jane greeted the fox tail awkwardly. She didn't seem to have much memory of the events that took place in that pub, which was good. Honestly, Kat didn't remember all that much of that night either, but what she did remember she would rather soon forget. Kat gave a small greeting, quickly accepting Sayha's party invite and following her through a plethora of platforms, slightly glad that she didn't give them much time to talk. That conversation would've gotten real awkward, fast.
Sayha continued to drag the two chibis through the station, with Kat staying as close to Sayha as possible. She really, really didn't want to lose Sayha in the crowd. Eventually, the group made it to a train. Apparently a train heading directly to Avon was just about to leave when Sayha got the party together. 'Convenient. Just like everything else today. Maybe the powers that be have decided to take pity on me for once.'
Surprisingly enough, the trains were actually really, really comfortable. Considering the technological state of Elder Tale, Kat expected a bumpy ride the whole way to Avon, but no, it was relatively smooth the whole way through. It was kind of amazing that they were able to get all this up and running in about two years, but the ride wasn't really what Kat was thinking about. No, she was still stuck on the part where apparently a man had three subclasses. She couldn't get over that fact. It defied the very laws of Elder Tale (Kat chose to ignore the fact that she was thinking about this while riding a train that defied the very laws of Elder Tale). She was almost certain that it wasn't true, but apparently people had met the guy and can confirm his existence. How was it possible?
Kat was so deep in thought that she didn't even notice when the train stopped, only realising when Sayha walked past her and off the train. Sayha suggested that the three stick together, which, well, Kat kinda thought that was the plan to begin with but hey, whatever.
Kat was not ashamed to admit that when she realised an unhappy polar bear was currently stoming down the street, she hid behind Sayha, only coming out when she realised who was riding it. Katarina and Capsule were acquaintances at best, strangers at worst, Katarina only knowing her from the dungeon raid that she decided not to take part in. Noctis tried to get the two of them plus Dumah to join him in a raid, but since everyone barring Capsule was underlevelled, they decided not to go through with it. From the little time she had spent with her, she seemed rather blunt. Okay, VERY blunt. Kat decided she liked her. Whether or not Capsule recognised her was anyone's guess, though she assumed that she probably didn't.
Once Sayha recruited the Enchanter into her merry band of Adventurers, she lead the party through Avon. It didn't take all that long to find the medicine man, who seemed to be passing out potions for free. Well, that's an interesting business strategy. Of course, the man's potions weren't what interested Kat. As soon as she spotted the man, she checked her interface. Well, Kat had no idea how it was possible, but there it was, clear as day. Three subclasses. Apothecary, which made sense, Courtesan, well, she really wanted to get that mental image out of her head, and... "???". "???". Very detailed subclass there, the developers really put a lot of effort into naming it. Katarina was puzzled. Okay, so the man actually does have three subclasses. Well, that broke Kat's reality, but she was completely focused on that mystery subclass. What could it be? What could it do? Maybe picking up that subclass gave him the extra class slots? Well, probably not that last one, that was a bit of a stretch. Or, well, a leap. Still though. Odd.
Sayha decided to go talk to the man, gaining his attention. She asked about the subclasses.
...She got his whole life story. Well then. Kat assumed that either the man wanted to avoid the question, or he really, really liked talking about his oh so fascinating life as a healer. Well, she really shouldn't be too harsh to the man. Although he was avoiding the main question at hand, he was giving valuable information about the North, a place Kat knew next to nothing about. Plus, when Sayha asked whether or not he could take the party up north, he agreed to be their guide, so that got him points in Kat's books.
By conversation's end, Sayha had gotten the party roped in to an expedition up to the North. Really, all Kat wanted to do was to interrog- ask Alasdair about the mystery subclass, but she supposed that, as Sayha was quick to point out, going up north might be the best way to find out information about the subclasses, since Alasdair seemed unwilling to explain himself. Sayha gave the party an option of backing out, but really now, was anyone actually going to do that? No, she didn't suppose anyone would. Jane asked whether or not anyone actually knew what was up north, which was actually a very good question. Kat certainly didn't know anything about the North, and any knowledge would be really helpful. Because of her lack of knowledge of the area, Kat didn't really feel like she could say anything here, so she just decided to stay silent. Silence was always a valid option.

[attr="class","solcap"] When your mount and faithful companion was a polar bear, it was very easy to stick out in a crowd. Capsule, who was not expecting to be flagged down because of it, had to grab a tuft of fur when someone randomly called out to her. Blinking, she turned to face the source, and found herself staring at an unknown girl. The name near her head marked her as Sayha, an Assassin that followed Hiro around like a puppy. Looks like someone had downed an Appearance Change potion of her own. But for what purpose? To suit whatever type (assuming he was picky) Hiro favored?
Capsule answered in the affirmative. If she and Aleksei went alone, chaos was destined to follow. In a group, he would be more inclined to behave…ideally, anyway.
Of the other members of the party, only a foxtail she recognized as Katarina was familiar to her. The last one, a blonde girl who appeared to be no older than twelve, was new to her. The bear softly growled as he examined the child, perhaps wondering if she were a dwarf to be eaten. Capsule sternly dug her heels into his side. «No,» she warned. The bear gave a not so subtle huff, now turning one eye to glare at the myobu perched on Sayha’s shoulders. No doubt he was feeling superior in size and level.
Once in the vicinity of Alasdair however, the bear narrowed his eyes at the ragged wretch before them. Capsule was very unimpressed, and she could tell that the bear felt the same. This was the guy with three subclasses -- two that she could see, anyway. The two visible options made perfect sense, given his profession. So then, what was he hiding in the third? Obviously not the merchant subclass.
Capsule stiffened as the man went on to explain himself, mentioning the North, the very area she had traveled out to with others. They had hoped to find something of great interest, perhaps a clue or two to their being here, but never made it far before being forced to turn back. From what little they saw of the area, a conflict of sorts left the path they traveled littered with debris. But there was no sign of life. Could that have been a result of this illness the man spoke of? A preemptive disease that slowly made its way across the land, via birds and the other local wildlife?
«I don't trust him. Should I cuff him until he speaks less nonsense?» Aleksei did not care if the others could understand him, for her was talking to Capsule in his usual pitch. Capsule just shook her head. The man may be evading the question about his multiple rp subclasses, but made up for it by cooperating.
Aleksei did not care to just let the man do as he pleased in the meantime, but what else could they do? Other than painting a note on the man with Mythic Script, Capsule was fresh out of ideas. She would just have to believe that he would hold up his end of the deal. «Should have broken his likkle legs...» Capsule silently mulled over what they had learned today, a smaller part of her brain making a small checklist of supplies. With a guide to show them the way, she would not have to fear going in blindly or getting derailed and lost in uncharted territory. Jane and Katarina seemed to keep up from what Sayha could tell which was good. They bought items similar if not the same to her which she wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or not. Preferably, they would get some similar items but also get items that she didn’t think of. Oh well, there wasn’t much that she could do about it, and she didn’t plan on bringing it up. Hopefully Capsule would have better luck getting items since she split off from the group.
Sayha made her way back to where the agreed meeting spot which was in front of the inn and waited. She made a note of the time on her interface and let herself lean against a nearby wall, making sure she didn’t squish Yuki.
“<You forgot to ask the weird guy how long it’ll take for him to arrive>,” Yuki commented, her ears twitching, “<You also forgot to ask the Enchantress.>”
“<I’m aware of that>,” Sayha sighed to the Myobu, “<I don’t think we’re in any rush anyway so it doesn’t’ matter as much>.”
“<You say that now…>” Yuki didn’t finish, but Sayha knew what she was implying. For all she knew, it would be hours before either Alasdair or Capsule appeared. Hopefully it wouldn’t be that long though. Honestly, Sayha didn’t plan on waiting that long. If Alasdair took too long, she would just track him down. If Capsule didn’t appear though… Sayha didn’t have Capsule on her friend’s list since she only knew her briefly from the random encounters the two of them had. One of them was quite vivid in her mind though. Sayha had been asked to lead a dungeon in an abandoned school area. Capsule had been one of the members of the dungeon along with Fletcher and Noctis… oh and a fox-tail named Nisha. During that encounter, Capsule at one point had gone off on her own… though that wasn’t saying much. The group wasn’t well put together… mostly because Sayha wasn’t that great of a leader. If she knew then what she knew now, things would have gone quite differently.
Time went by and quite a few adventured entered and left the inn as the group stood there, waiting for Capsule and Alasdair. After a while, Yuki got Sayha’s attention which prompted her to look around. Just coming into site was Alasdair, and he smiled as he approached the group.
“Ah, it seems that everything is in order,” Alasdair said, looking at the three, “Though it seems that you are mission one of your companions. Shall we wait for them or shall we continue without them?”
Good question. Sayha had no way of contacting Capsule, and she was nowhere in sight. “I’ll leave her a note,” Sayha said, pulling out her notebook and quill pen. She jotted down a quick letter for Capsule explaining that they were headed north if she wanted to catch up with them. After ripping out the note from her notebook, she went inside the inn and talked to the person at the main desk, asking them to give the letter to the enchanter if they saw them. They agreed and Sayha went back outside. “If Capsule is still interested in joining us, she can catch up certainly. For now, I think we should head out.”
Alasdair nodded, “Very well. If you all will follow me, we can get going.”

Jane was quite relieved to see that the other two girls were still with her. It would have been worrying to lose Sayha, who she was following, and similarly Katarina was doing the same. To have lost people who were all following one of them would have been quite the conundrum, and probably the end of this odd little adventure off into the world. When they all got to the meeting place the chibi guardian hummed to herself softly while they waited. She didn't mind chatting but she wasn't exactly sure what would be a good topic of conversation at that moment. Instead she mused on what she was here for, wondering if it would even matter in the end. It was entirely possible that the journey wouldn't even lead to the third subclass curiosity that a lot of other Adventurer's were curious about, let alone answers to her queries about her condition.
There was still the whole fact that this adventure actually got her to go out and do things again. Jacoben would probably be happy to hear about that one considering how he worried about his real-world friend. Jane didn't seem to be taking to the new reality nearly as well as others, though she still blundered forward without too much trouble. There was just something about her change that seemed different to those around her, something that still troubled the Welshman even after all this time. Maybe this adventure would help him realise it.
