Not much had passed since what the people of this world called "Catastrophe", the dreaded event that apparently transported Leo and who knows how many other people into a completely different world. It wasn't easy for him to accept this new situation but he eventually started thinking proactively, he knew absolutely nothing of what was going on so he decided to just play along and progress in this game for the time being. It couldn't be helped, either he attempted to do something on his own or he waited for this nightmare to end and he really didn't want the time to think on if he'll ever get out of this damn thing at all. Finding a starting point was almost obvious, he needed money for food and shelter and if he really was in a mmorpg there were only 2 ways to get those in the beginning: fighting mobs and quests. There were an infinite amount of questions inside his head, but for the moment Leo shut them down and concentrated on his immediate future, he couldn't find an answer for those questions anyway even if he tried with all his might. There was one problem though, he didn't even know if there even were quests. It was apparent this was a different reality, the natives in this world were called landers but they didn't really act like NPCs, from what he observed each had their own life and were able to interact just like any human would. The only thing left for him was going outside of the city and grind on some mobs , which raised many new questions in his mind that he promptly shut off till he could assert his situation a it better. " Tch, this sucks..." Leo thought in the privacy of his mind, he was ripped off from his reality into a situation so bizarre that it could be rightly mistaken for a fictional story with no obvious way out, of course he would feel annoyed. Without wasting anymore time, he made his way outside of the town carefully observing his surroundings. The city was based on a post apocalyptic London, so he could still see some signs of modern civilization in the form of buildings, but they were covered by plants and showed the destructive signs of time passing. Knowing London well, he couldn't help but feel alienated, it was at the same time alike and completely different form the real world counterpart. Strangely it didn't take long for him to reach the outskirts of the city, he was near the center so it kinda surprised him to be able to traverse it in so little time. He went past the last buildings and found himself in an open field, ahead of him though there was one last house surrounded by a wooden fencing. All kinds of animals grazed inside the fencing, most notably a bunch of strange looking rabbits that were wreaking around the whole place, Leo looked at them closely and noticed they had a pop up interface on their heads, signaling them as < frenmic rabbits>. " I guess these rabbit are mobs, huh?" Leo thought, it was strange seeing that pop up on their head, it like like he was wearing some of those augmented reality glasses. " YOU DAMN RABBITS, GET OFF MY LAWN!!" Suddenly Leo heard a shout, an old man kicked open the door of his house and veeeery slowly tried to catch up to the rabbits, it didn't help him that he was also walking with a cane. Leo rested his arms on the fencing and watched that pitiful chase with amusement, after about a minute the old man was already exhausted and stopped to catch his breath, resting his head on the top of his cane. Leo sighed and walked up to the entrance, if those rabbit were really mobs then he could help the old man and also get the gold from their drops, two birds with one stone. " hey old man, seems like you could use a ha-" " YOU DAMN KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN" the old man shouted while brandishing his cane like a hammer and smashing it on Leo's skull with surprising force, Leo's eyes widened as he saw the wooden cane racing and falling on the top of his head, too surprsied to dodge the blow. Upon collinding with Leo's skull the cane made a sonorous THUG and the poor swashbuckler was left agonizing. " OUCH-WHAT THE #@*& IS YOUR PROBLEM" Leo leashed out while massaging his head, if he had any doubts before now he was sure of it, his body could still feel pain. The old man looked confused for a moment, " Oh-oh-oh, I'm sorry young traveler, you caught me by surprise and i thought some kids were coming to play a prank or something" He chuckled a bit, resting once again on his cane. Leo looked furious, he had lost all motivation to help the old man and was already waslking back where he came from, wishing those rabbits would breed ad nauseam inside his lawn. " Wait, you're an adventurer aren't you? i might have a job for you, how about you get rid of those pesky rabbits? I can pay you well for the job" Leo stopped on his track and looked back at the old man with a raised eyebrow " how well?" " about 15 gold" Leo didn't know if that was a good offer or not, he didn't have time to see the various inn's prices but hey, it was still money. " Alright, i'll accept, but only because I need the money, got it?" " Sure thing, brave adventurer" Leo shook his hand to seal the deal and then suddenly a pop up window appeared under his eyes < quest accepted: My lawn!!>. Leo smirked, so quests worked like that in this world, just like any other request in real life. He gave his back to the lander and gave a quick glance on those rabbits, he didn't know how to fight but those were extremely low leveled mobs, nothing he should fear. " Go back inside and let me take care of them, i'll call you wh-" " YOU DAMN KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!!" Leo heard shouting behind him and then felt the hard wood cane smashing his back-head open, his eyes turned red form the pain and he arched his whole body forward while putting his hands on the impact point on his head. " oh-oh-oh, I'm sorry, I have a bit of a short memory loss, for a second I forgot about you and thought some kids wanted to pull a prank on me or something" Leo clenched his fists and teeth tight, his face as red as an apple, " STAY-CALM-STAY-MOTHER@#&%*-CALM" Tags: Aithne viso

Malcolm woke up slowly, eyelids flickering open in response to the light warming them. It was another day, it looked like… another day where he hadn’t woken up. He had lost that hope in the first week here, that he’d fall asleep and wake up back at his computer desk, perhaps having drooled on the keyboard. His muzzle opened, long tongue emerging in a curl as he yawned. He looked around the disused building he’d found for his temporary shelter, pushing himself onto his feet. No, wait, they were paws. He still wasn’t used to the shift in words in regard to himself. He raised his hands above his head, leaning back until he felt that pop as his spine made itself comfortable in his body once more. This was getting ridiculous, sleeping on the hard surface. While this languidness was excusable, it certainly wasn’t doing him any good. Which meant…. A tired sigh escaped from his lips, as the werecat bent down to pick up his staff, tapping the base against the floor in his morning ritual of making sure it was solid. He was going to have to find a job. A quest might be more accurate, but either would satisfy him. He walked out of the empty doorway of the decrepit building, heading for the more populated area of Londinium. He still wasn’t used to the way the little information bars popped into his vision, he needed to find a way to turn those off. They were getting annoying, and sometimes got in his way, especially when there was a bunch of people in the same place. He walked through the streets, taking note of what was happening. Things had settled down, but the events that had transpired to bring them here and after it still hung in the air, slowly dissipating. The cat noted that a small group of people were starting to congregate around a wooden bulletin board, which drew his curiosity so the shaman approached. This was more like it. The scraps of parchment attached to it seemed to hold quests, a system that he wasn’t sure had been transferred properly to this world along with the adventurers. Though one could easily argue it was natural part of the world. Malcolm picked one out, a combat one. He was going to need to learn how to fight sooner or later, and this one seemed to be just to get rid of a bunch of rabbits. Though, that would make it more embarrassing if he managed to get himself killed by them. He would come back, but…. The idea of dying still didn’t sit right with him. He gave a little jerk as a window came up, asking him if he was accepting the quest, and he hit yes. He hadn’t been outside of the city yet… no time like the present. He took his time, but, he eventually got to where he believed the quest said to go. A mostly fenced in area, riddled with these… Frenmic Rabbits. What he hadn’t expected was the presence of another adventurer there, and what he presumed to be the one who had given the quest, or just someone who had been nearby. Viso arrived soon enough to see the rather old man give the adventurer a whack on the back of the head. Now what was going on here? At least the werecat wasn’t cracking a smile at poor Leo’s misfortune. He walked up closer to the two, though the rattle of his chainmail likely gave it away that he was approaching. “Excuse me, sir, but are….” Malcolm had been looking at Leo, or rather the info bar. A swashbuckler, that would likely make this quest a lot easier. Shaman’s were better off in a party, not much in the way of offensive skills. His focus on Stryke though was his own undoing, as he was interrupted. “DAMN KIDS!” Whack! Holy s***, that old man had an arm on him, as that cane walloped against the side of his head. The staff fell from his hand, as he reached up to cover the area. Malcolm wasn’t used to pain, even in the real world. “F***, owww….” A string of muttered curses ran from his mouth, his head bowed as he took a step or two back. His eyes were welling up a little from the pain, and he was fighting to keep those tears inside. Pain was definitely one of those functions he would have preferred been missing in this place. “Err, sorry about that.” The old man said, looking between the two. “He with you?”Tags: Aithne , Stryke

Aithne was starting to get used to sleeping outside. She would either sleep up in a tree or in an exposed area of an empty building. This time however, she had been been resting in a tree near the quest board since it would be where she would often pick up quests to acquire the currency to afford armor, weapons, and other MMO rather, real life necessities for this world. Having finally rested up, Aithne opened her eyes and looked around the area below to see what was going on. Luckily, no one had decided to attack her since all the craziness was still going on. Seeing everything was alright, Aithne lowered herself from the tree, landing gently on her feet. 'Being an assassin is great for a lot of things here I guess.' Approaching the quest board, she had her eyes on a quest almost immediately. Killing some rabbits did not seem like a hard task for Aithne, after all she had a few quests under her belt. Seeing the popup, Aithne accepted the quest and headed towards the destination that the quest had pointed them. "It should be easy to avoid ruining the lawn like the rabbits right?" she asked herself with some amount of uncertainty. As she arrived at her location, Aithne had witnessed two people get whacked by an old man. 'Oh boy,' she thought to herself as she approached. Raising her left arm in the air, she greeted them. "Heya, I'm here for the quest!" Of course, she got the reaction she had seen twice already. Quickly reacting, Aithne brought her sheathed blade up and block the cane. "H-Hey old man I'm here to get rid of the rabbits!" she exclaimed as she held back the surprisingly strong man. Letting his cane down, the Lander chuckled. "S-Sorry about that, I believe I should let you guys get to it so we avoid this," he said. "Please avoid hurting my lawn..." he requested as he went inside. Putting away her sheathed weapon, Aithne let out a small sigh as she turned to the other two adventurers. "What fun huh? While we have the chance we should introduce ourselves!" she suggested. As she has thought plenty of times before, introductions were important and she always hoped to have a good impression on the people she met. "My name is Aithne and I will be accompanying you guys if you'll have me," she said with a warm smile. Aithne hoped to lighten the mood that the old man had whacked into the air.

Leo managed to keep his cool just barely, it was really difficult to respect the elders in that moment after being whacked 2 times in the head. The swashbuckler scratched his head with an increasingly annoyed expression, he wasn't so sure that the reward from the quest would be worth getting pounded by a cane multiple times. As the pain was beginning to fade away, Leo noticed another person was walking nearby and for a moment he thought the blow gave him some kind of hallucinations. What he saw was a giant humanoid cat with a beard, somehting you wouldn't see every day, at least in the real world. Leo looked at the strange figure, he knew that one of the playable races was the werecat but meeting one in person was entirely different than looking at them through a screen, he had to admit they were pretty hilarious looking. Unfortunately, the werecat suffered the same fate as the poor swashbuckler, smacked in the head by a cane. Leo could hear some profanities coming from the giant cat, he could relate well to his pain so he didn't find the situation as hilarious as he thought. The lander asked whether the werecat was with with Leo, but before he could respond another person showed up. This time it was a blue haired girl, he was seeing a lot of strange things that day. The girl joined the fray too and apparently already knew everything about the quest, the question was how could she know it. Maybe there was like a quest board, It was certainly reasonable to have multiple ways of obtaining quests and looking through a quest board was by far easier than just searching around aimlessly to find any leads. Remembering how the old men greeted the two adventures, Leo was about to warn the blue haired girl but he came too late. The lander once again brandished his cane like a blunt weapon and tried to hit the girl out of senile rage. Fortunately, it appeared the girl was prepared for this and easily blocked the hit with her weapon.Leo and that werecat were taken by surprise so it wasn't surprising that she was able to block him knowing the fate of those two before her. The girl introduced herself as Aithne and was willing to group up for the quest. Leo tried to make head and tails on his current situation, he was hit twice by an old man, he witnessed a giant cat getting hit by an old men and then a blue haired girl showed up from nowhere, something told him that things were about to get much weirder in this new world. " Do as you want, we can split the reward afterwards, I guess" There was always a bright contrast between how Leo acted and what he was really thinking, in reality the swashbuckler was glad to have someone who might have more experience than him, better than slowly learning the system on his own. " I'm Le-...Stryke by the way, nice to meet you two." He responded to the other two adventurers, he was still trying to get used to using his new name, somehow he felt that using his character name was better for the time being. The swashbuckler shifted his gaze onto the rabbits, there were 3 of them, just enough for the 3 adventurers. "So, do you guys know how to fight? This is my first time too so any tip is appreciated" Leo said while unsheathing his two swords, he had to admit that the sound of unsheathing steel was really cool and the thought of battling monster thrilling to him, too bad he didn't choose monk as his class, he could have fought with his martial art knowledge better than he ever could with swords. The pure unexpectedness of the attack is what had caught Malcolm up in the sharp pain that resulted from it. The cursing was more of an automated response, with his mind focused on the almost too realistic pain of the moment. But, as with most humans, they adapt. Even if he wasn’t human anymore. The overwhelming sensation ebbed off slowly into something more manageable. His ears gave a spasm at the new voice, as he had yet to get used to them, and he looked up to someone new coming up. The old man took a swing at her as well, though…. She had better luck then he had, or more experience. Malcolm used the distraction, bending down to pick up his staff. He took an extra moment, pressing his fingers into the corners of his eyes to absorb the extra moisture. It would have to do. His nose gave a little twitch, whiskers working as he looked between the two, taking the time to get a little closer to them so that they could talk more easily. It seemed a party or unofficial group was forming, and that led to introductions. “My name is Malcolm.” He said simply, and without reservation. Viso was just a screen name to represent a character. The situation had moved well beyond playing a character, and he wasn’t planning on letting it take his name. “I’m afraid my combat experience is nonexistent, and that fact was the purpose of me coming. I was hoping to test the combat system in this new world.” He reaches up in his own view, tapping on his menu, before opening up his skills menu, continuing to talk. His voice was starting to lose the irritated tone from the old man’s hit, and was turning more clinical, coldly analyzing things. “As a Shaman, I have a couple….” His sentence trailed off as Malcolm looked between the two. Both of them were taller than him. This shorter height was a real nuisance sometimes, and made judging measurements harder. He continued on as if he hadn’t interrupted himself. “…damage prevention skills, as well as a small heal spell. They should make the learning process a little easier on you.” Give Stryke the time he needed to figure out how to use his weapons in an effective manner without worrying about dying. Malcolm planted his staff in the ground, eyes not looking to either of them, but on his skill menu in review. Damage Interception should be the most useful in this situation. He could keep casting it on one or the other to keep them from being damaged. He paused for a moment on one of his beginner skills. Summon Shikigami, he had forgotten about that one…. Interesting. Perhaps for another time. “Though, perhaps it would be best to note the Auto-Attack button? It was one of the features I was planning on trying.” There was something that had crept into his voice, though it might be hard to pin down between the different facial expressions of a werecat, or the fact that Malcolm was desperately trying to eradicate. However, the crack in his voice near the end spoke of nervousness. He had decided to do this, and he needed to do this for a variety of reasons. But, now that he was here, he couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that he didn’t want to do this. The more he talked, the more he could put off taking action. Where was the point where reluctance became cowardice though? Had he crossed it? The werecat looks to Stryke, who was preparing his swords, then to the rabbits hopping in the fields and munching on various plants. Time to find out, he supposed. Tags: Aithne , Stryke

As they introduced themselves, the group that Aithne had encountered seemed to have finally recovered from their own conversation with the Lander. This allowed her to become a little less tense, since there was no way she could easily agitate them, or so she hoped. "That's alright, I have almost no combat experience either, though this new body makes me confident," she replied to Malcolm. Though she has had experience fighting in this world and her new body, it was still clear that she would need legitimate practice before she could do anything super fancy. That would be alright though because it would give her time to grow in-game levels and legitimate experience. 'How should I approach this.' It was good to hear that the Werecat had some damage prevention skills since it would help her plan accordingly. "I have a self-buff that will poison the target, if we utilize that we could probably kill these things super quick," she suggested as she opened up her own skill menu. 'I have two other skills too, but those won't affect what they're doing I don't think,' she thought. Aithne was still new at planning out a fight since she never really had to in real life, but this would only add onto her current experience and flourish from there. As she went over her skills and equipment, she would watch the mobs they were going to go after. Aithne watched their movement as to get a feel on how they moved and what other patterns they may have.
