Sobi yawned and he walked down the downtrodden path towards the exit of the town area. He was still wearing his starter gear, the chain armour, and in his hands he held a grimoire and a wand. He sighed gently as the trees rustled above him and the wind blew against his robes gently. He still had his limp, but he couldn't help it. He was pretty sure it was mental than physical. He knew the leg he had was perfect. It was a game, of course he wouldn't have a crippled leg. He just couldn't get used to having it back. It wasn't a significant limp anyway. It was a minor one, his stride unimpeded. As he progressed northwards, he felt the air grow humid, a dampness in the air. He knew he was closing in the Thames, thus the Northern Marshlands. That was where the priest said his book had been dropped. He simply needed to get it back. It wasn't too difficult. Soon enough he had reached the border between the town and the Northern Marshlands. He clutched his fingers around his wand tightly, he was a little nervous. He took a step forward and crossed zones.
Even was in the Marshland, it was damp, and humid. There were insects buzzing about and the water looked green and dirty. He avoided it as best he could, sticking to the barely visible paths. The area he was in smelled like damp you get in a house that has mouldy walls. It felt like the air was sagging down, pressing against him. He hated it. He liked cold, crisp air over anything else. Damp, wet things disgusted him. It made him angry. Grrrr. He frowned. "Lets get this over and done with!" he grumbled to himself, humph! His robes were sticking to him and it made him feel horrible. Soon enough however, he noticed his first goblin. He had a rough idea of where the priest was attacked thanks to Johannas' directions, and now that he had found himself a goblin he knew he was close. He looked up at the name, Weak Goblin Scout, Lvl.1. He was definitely close. He prepared himself. He equipped his spells to his hotbar. He only had [Martyr Spear] and [Holy Banishment]. He also made sure his Grimoire and Wand were both equipped and ready.
He targeted the first goblin and chanted the words with poise, "Martyr Spear", and caused a light to form in the air above him, taking the form of a spear or a javelin. He waited as the spear took shape, convulsing with Holy energy. The cast time finished, and he pointed at the goblin. It flew at the unsuspecting enemy, and quickly embedded itself in the goblin. Sobi watched the goblin's HP drop down to around 40%. This was a good start. This was so hard. He could do this, all he had to do was focus. He could get another [Martyr Spear] off before the goblin reached him and then that would be one down.

The first goblin he had encountered and it was going splendidly. It was already on 40% HP and he had taken a single hit yet. He was giddy with excitement. This was really fun. He was having the time of his life. His MP had dropped significantly but he didn't need much more to take care of this goblin. It was weary, breathing heavily and standing seemed like a struggle for it. It's tattered robes were already muddy and worn, this goblin was obviously not at its best. Sobi seemed rather empathetic towards the goblin. The little blighter was probably just trying to get food for itself. It looked famished. Its arms looked too thin and its face was gaunt and meek. It was obviously in pain as well. Sobi raised his hands. "May you find a better life in the next one, lost soul." he uttered as he once again cast his spell, "Martyr Spear." The spear forming in the air above him, the same brightness, the same aura about it. He pointed at the goblin for a second time, and the spear immediately embedded itself in the goblin's stomach. It stopped in it's tracks and looked at Sobi in the eyes, its own blood red orbs glazed over in death. It shattered into fragments of light, glowing gently and floating towards the sky. Over time, the shards disappeared leaving Sobi in a silence that was different to the silence of the library. It was a mournful, oppressive silence. Sobi felt himself shiver a little. That was a little too realistic for his tastes.
His inward contemplations were cut short however as he felt the tip of a blade dig into the back of his chain armour, and knocking him back slightly. The hit felt a little light but still, it hurt. It actually hurt. He cursed to himself and turned to see a second and a third goblin standing about him. He doubly cursed. He was still very low on MP. Not enough to cast anything for another double dozen seconds or so. He swung his wand and unleashed a bolt of magic at the goblin that had attacked him. It connected and burst into a small ball of light, but the goblin seemed largely unaffected, pressing onwards. Sobi sighed and prepared to take a beating until he could use [Martyr Spear] again.

Sobi got hit once, and then twice, and then three times. He watched as his HP dropped to around 50%. He wasn't in a good state but then neither was the goblin that had hit him initially. He had already fire off three shots at the small, pesky nuisance and had brought him down to 10%. He knew that around one more hit would kill the first goblin. In three seconds he would have regained enough MP to cast either [Martyr Spear] and [Holy Banishment] and so he waited. His final attack went off, slamming into the weakened goblin's chest causing him to shatter and break into the glimmering shards as did the first one. This time Sobi didn't reminisce about the act of killing this goblin and it all being too real. The remaining goblin lunged forward and stabbed at him, bringing his health before 40% and making Sobi visibly shake. He was not in a good spot in the slightest. He had enough MP. He stopped and uttered the words, " Holy Banishment." He watched as the light glimmered around his hand, before he pointed at the remaining goblin. A shimmering beam of light shot forward and hit the goblin in the chest. The goblin immediately turned and began to flee. Sobi didn't have time for that however and without a misstep then uttered his second spell, " Martyr Spear!" yelling it this time. It flew and drove through the back of the goblin, bringing it down instantly. He had criticality wounded the goblin. He thanked his luck and swung around to make sure there were no more goblins in the area. He waited. Silence. Not like the other two silences. This was a silence of pure bliss. The silence when the storm passes and everybody breathes again. He smiled and collapsed to the ground. All he needed to do now was find the book and he would be done. This hadn't been so difficult really. Sobi definitely needed more practice though, and maybe a heal. He was not offensive enough to sustain his damage output. As he put his hands behind him to lean back, he felt it rest upon something leathery and hard. It wasn't a stone, it wasn't moving and it definitely wasn't the ground he was resting on. He looked down and behind him and saw a dusty, ragged book. It just stared at it before jumping away in shock. It-it was the book he needed! Praise his luck. He smiled the biggest smile and hopped up onto his feet. Kneeling down he picked up the book and stuffed it into his magic bag. He had all he needed and soon enough he found himself back on the path and quickly on his way back into town, and it had only taken him a little over five hours. The sun was setting on the horizon. He doubted he could get much more work done in the way of scribing but he could certainly return the book before Johannas went to sleep. Within no time at all he had crossed back over and through into town and from there it was but a hop, skip and jump to the Abbey. There he went straight up to Johannas and handed him the book. " Here you go, back safe and sound." he smiled. " I hope you keep it safer this time.", Sobi finally gave the book some attention and noticed it was a burning red, with a sun symbol on the cover, with no apparent title. " What is that book, Johannas?" he asked, curious. " It is a religious text, written by one of my predecessors many ages past. It was said to have been written close to the Age of the Gods." Johannas replied. " Mind if I look through it?" inquired Sobi, now very quite curious at mention of the Age of the Gods. " Not at all, Sir Havé. I was actually thinking that you might want to look at it. It isn't that important to me but I thought it might help you a little." he said with a soft, fatherly smile. " I don't know what to say...thank you I guess. Hehe." he said a little dumbfounded. At least he had something to go off of for his character now he thought. Total Word Count : 1619
