"So let's see, this Shaz guy wants to have crafted a hawk looking stamp and falcon looking necklace, the latter enhanced to grant MP cost reduction...when in party with him?"
Leo observed curiously the request board, during these days it was really full of all kind of different jobs. Every morning it became an habit for the swashbuckler to walk up where the board was and look if there were any good crafting requests he could get his hands on, in fact, taking a crafting job was something that promised him not only some always needed cash, but also much needed experience points to level up his artisan skill, which was really low compared to his other classes.
"Alright, Let's give this guy what he wants and collect the reward"
He said to himself cheerfully after taking away the note attached to the board, he wouldn't want anyone to steal his job now, would he? Leo jogged his way to the station and in all hurry searched for an empty table to work on, once he found what he was looking for he started to put out of his inventory all the needed tools for the job, carving knives, stones and some leather.
Finally he didn't look like a complete crafting noob anymore, he had some experience with some crafting jobs that taught him the basic techniques for producing a nice carved stone that didn't look extremely ugly. Leo could still remember his first attempts at stone crafting, he was so negated at carving stones that he lost at least 10 level 1 stones just to craft a little portable statue of a dog, and when he finally did craft it the result was so horrible that he had to destroy the statue right away in fear that it could bring nightmares to whoever saw it.
"I guess it's better to start with the easier request, this stone stamp shouldn't be too difficult to craft"
He said to himself, this Shaz guy specifically wanted the top of the stamp to bear a resemblance to a hawk and the lower part to made so it would stamp the letter S. Leo had yet to try carving figures of birds but he was confident that this time the crafting process would be much easier than the other times, be it because he was starting to get some experience with carving stones or because he wasn't a level 1 artisan anymore.
Without wasting any more time he collected a stone and one of his carving knives from the table, he started humming an upbeat song and then finally commenced his crafting request. The first thing to do was to start carving the top of the stone, which would resemble an howl at work finished, starting from the most difficult task could make him waste less time if he screwed up his work.
Even though the process was relatively delicate, Leo wasn't stressed or nervous at all, the more things he crafted the more he liked to make them, with the process become easier and easier every time he attempted it.

Leo carefully started carving the top of the stone, with small movements of his wrist he carved deep into the stone shaping a spherical figure which would become the head of the hawk. Right now it didn't bear much of a resemblance but he didn't care, right now he had to give the stone vague appearance he desired and only then he could start working on the details, it was basic crafting knowledge.
After the spherical head was done, Leo moved on to the body, he had to cut off the residual stone parts and give the body an elongated ellipse figure. The idea was simple, since it was a stamp the hawk's body had to be comfortable for the closed fist of the user, this object comfort was as important as the design itself, just imagine stamping hundreds of hundreds of documents with something that hurt your hand, it would destroy your hand after about 50 uses or so.
It was important to give the body the exact measurements to make it comfortable, to do so Leo made several tests by grabbing the stone with his own hand, he continued carving the body till the basic shape was comfortable enough for him to swing it around without harming his hand.
The body was given its basic shape too, so it was time to pass on the lower half of the stamp, which had to form a letter S. This part was definitely easier than carving the howl's shape, all he had to do was carving away all the unnecessary parts of the stone, carve the letter S and then smooth out the bottom with his set of carving knives. This last part deserved a bit more care though, the bottom of the stamp had to be perfectly smoothed out or it could damage important documents.
Once Leo did this part too, he grabbed the stamp with both hands and started looking at it carefully, he still had to define the details of the hawkl but that aside it was all good, he wasn't doing a bad job at all.

Defining the details was a job a lot harder than his previous one, not only Leo had to be extremely careful with what he carved and how, he also had to possess a high dose of patience and precision. Leo started by carving the hawk's eyes, to do so he had to change his current knife, the one he was wielding at the moment was too big for this sort of precision work, if he wasn't extremely careful with it he could ruin what he worked on till now.
Leo looked over at his reserve of knives, his was a complete set with knives of all kind of length and sharpness, what he required now was one small but sharp enough to grant him more precision while carving. The artisan put his knife near the others and picked up his trusty 3 inches precision knife, which funnily enough resembled a scalpel more than a carving knife.
"Nurse, prepare the patient"
Leo said jokingly, it was strange that he made the most jokes while there was absolutely no one to listen them, somehow he felt more talkative when he was alone than when people surrounded him, maybe he just felt a bit alone.
Leo whistled carelessly while giving his owl a brand new set of eyes, with much precision he carved the eyes and the eyelids, then he moved on to refine the beak of the bird. Remembering basic physical properties of birds in general, Leo started carving form the cavity of the eyes, in fact birds possessed a very distinct triangle shaped forehead that would then connect to the beak of the bird.
Leo continued carving with his precision knife a triangular shape, first on the left side and then on the right. The beak required a little more work though, considering how refined are hawk's beaks and also how small the actual stone stamp was, Leo had to continue working a little slower than usual, he couldn't mess up his work now. Leo gave the beak a nice hook shape and defined the details, finally the most difficult parts were now dealt with, all he had to do was giving the owl a feathery appearance and refining the tail and the wings, which he carved as closed and attached to the body.
This time Leo opted for a knife less sharp than the last one, he didn't have to carve too deeply in the stone as all the main work was already done, he just had to scratch the surface a little so that it would give the impression of being made of feathers .
After even this part was done, Leo grabbed the stamp and carefully looked if there was something he missed. Under a closer inspection he could finally confirm that his crafting attempt was a success and the stamp complete and ready to be sold to the requester . Leo grinned as he looked at his creation, he couldn't believe that a little while ago he could only create ugly monsters with his artisan skill, at least now he was able to craft something that at least looked decent enough, he was sure that this Shaz guy would be happy with the result.

Satisfied with the result, Leo stored the stamp on his inventory and picked another stone to carve, the next work would be in theory a bit easier to craft, but there was something about it that increased the difficulty quite a bit, the next work in fact was a force accessory.
Force accessories were the physical counterparts to magical accessories, as the name says they provide a number of distinctive buffs related on augmenting one's physical abilities. In this case, This Shaz guy requested something a bit eccentric, the buff he wanted his item to have was an MP reduction cost one...but so it would only activate when the one wearing it was in party with him. Leo scratched his head trying to think why would he want such a strange buff, he was actually asking him to make a buff that was clearly inferior, why in the world would anyone want that?
Leo shrugged and sighed, he could only know the answer if he asked to Shaz in person, though he wasn't really sure he wanted to hear it. Anyway, Leo cleaned his working table from all the junk of his previous craft and started working on the force accessory, this was actually the first time he even attempted on making accessories that granted buffs.
The process was fairly similar to carving the hawk for the stamp, Leo started from the head and slowly proceeded to refine the other parts of the falcon, this time though the falcon would have its wings open gloriously as Leo didn't have to worry about making the body comfortable to be kept in one's hand.
After a while the shape was finally carved entirely, so it was time like before to refine the details. for first Leo carved a small hole inside the falcon's head, the accessory was supposed to be a pendant after all, then he proceeded to refine the falcon with his trusty 3 inches knife.
The process took some minutes but finally Lo finished all the details, the falcon looked glorious and strong, definitely one of his best creations till now.

The work wasn't finished yet, though, he still had to cut a piece of leather to finalize the pendant and then he had to give the accessory the buff Shaz desired. Fortunately Leo had with him plenty of materials and so he didn't have to go hunting or buying from other players the piece of leather that he needed. The leather was broad and huge, Leo didn't need at least 98% of that, he just needed one little string of leather for the pendant's lace.
This time required Leo's strongest, sharpest and longest blade, leather is a really sturdy material and quite difficult to cut if you didn't have the right tools. Leo picked up his long 10 inches blade and started to cut the leather with force, he initially cut off a relatively small piece and then he proceeded to thin it out till it had the same radius of shoe's laces. He inserted a side of the leather lace into the falcon's head and then tied it up with the other side.
There! The pendant was all done and ready, or that's what Leo would have liked, the accessory still needed to be enchanted but there was one little problem,
"How the hell do I do that?"
That was the first time for him crafting a force accessory and in all honesty he didn't know how the hell he could give the item those attributes. Maybe it worked like everything regarding the menu system, he just had to concentrate on the thought and then maybe the item would be magically enchanted? No, of course not, that would be stupid, but what else could he try? He ididn't even have anyone else to ask, he didn't know any artisans and right now there didn't seem to be one in the workshop, Leo had to sort it out like everything else since he was trapped inside this game.

Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind, what if the option to enhance an item was in the actual menu screen? It made sense and it was also the only thing he could try without having another more experienced artisan teaching him the process. Leo concentrate and summoned his menu, with a flick of his wrist he played around the menu and selected the crafting option. Another tab appeared, it showed him the object he was making along with some more options to choose, one of them was the one to rename the item and the other...here it was!
Leo grinned as he finally saw the option to enhance the pendant and clicked the button without thinking about it twice, another tab appeared yet and it interestingly showed him all the possible enhancements he could give to the pendant. Leo looked at the amount of possible buffs with attentive eyes, there was a huge selection of them of them including attack speed modifiers. Leo was really interested in this buff, maybe after he finished crafting Shaz's orders he could begin a crafting session to get some enhanced items too.
Anyway, it wasn't the time to think about that, Leo scrolled off those thought and continued searching what he looked for, a moment later he smiled as he finally found the MP reduction cost buff, even the one specific to Shaz's request. Leo couldn't believe that such a buff could exist, he didn't think abou tit too much though and proceeded to insert Shaz's name on the new tab.
After he finished even this chore, a bright light emanated from the pendant, Leo instinctively covered his eyes but it wasn't really that much bright, after a second the light wore off and another tab appeared before him, crafting complete!
Leo rejoiced and placed even this item in his inventory, he then ran off to find this Shaz at the meeting point to give him the items he crafted and get from him that delicious reward
