The cool breeze that wafted down to him was a welcome change in a land that was too flat for his liking. It reminded him of the great mount Fuji he had known in his childhood. Of course, even digitally rendered (he wasn't even sure if anything was virtual anymore) the mountains in the distance could not compare to the mighty giants of his homeland. It had been years since the last time he'd seen Fuji. In the end, he had to make do with these tiny mounds of earth. He looked back at the camp he had left behind. He'd been around for quite some time, but somehow he never found himself wandering over to this frontier called Sarum. Being a Shaman and not all too terrible in combat, he opted for the scouting mission. It gave him a chance to help and at the same time explore what new sights were waiting for him on the peaks of those mountains. He stopped in his tracks, having travelled farther than his other companions. He waited for them, the wind flapping the venerable cloth of his Shinto priest outfit. His bow was held in his hand at the ready, in case an arrow needed to be lodged in any incoming monster. Kumori Eden

Eden waved, as she got closer to him. It'd been some time since she'd been here and she rather liked this one, he was kind a little odd but kind. He seemed to enjoy this place a lot more than the others. She wasn't sure about the rest of this scouting part, they seemed rather rough around the edges. But she wasn't one to talk considering she was a Berserker, Cleric. She hadn't the chance to do anything reckless as of yet. So no one knew but she knew she could trust This Tsukina.
She whispered loud enough to catch his ears and his alone. "My Name is Eden, pleasure to be traveling with you. Anything I really need to know?"WORD COUNT: 121

It was another step towards the new frontier; that was his goal today. He had done this already, a few times, but he wouldn’t stop until all was explored and the landers began settling in. Ryuu stretched as he awoke from bed, yawning loudly. The sun ray that shined through the crevice of his tent had shone onto his eye and he forced his eyes to close, trying to stop the sun from blinding him. After a few seconds laying there, he moved, trying to hide his face away from the annoyance that kept him from returning to sleep. He sat up, placing his hands over his eyes, gripping with friction, his forehead, rubbing it to wake himself up. After a few moments in prayer, he awoke, unzipping the sleeping bag that he was in and placing the clothes that were laid out on the ground next to him onto his body. What he wore resembled that of an assassin or a ninja. With a black shirt, black pants, leather armor, gloves, and boots, he was ready to leave his tent. He thrust his tent’s ‘door’ wide open, hearing the noise of the flap it made, satisfied with the coolness factor.
His coolness was short-lived, however. He looked at the time in his hud, and his eyes widened. “Yabai, I’m late!” he exclaimed. He didn’t know who his party members were, but he did know where to meet. He grabbed a toast with butter and jam from the camp cook and rushed over to where they were supposed to be meeting, placing the toast in his mouth. Ryuu began eating it while he attempted to catch up with his party and prayed that they weren’t gone.
After several minutes of running, he finally made it to the designated meeting spot. “Gome- I mean sorry!” he exclaimed, almost going into his native tongue, “sorry I’m late,” he said to them. He offered his hand to each of them. He would first offer it to Eden. If she would take his hand, he would bring it up against his mouth and would kiss it if he was allowed. He would then shake the other man’s hand and nodded. “My name is Kumori, welcome to the land of Sarum… It’s not much currently, but it will be, it will be…” he said to them. “All you need to know is don’t take on something that you know you can’t handle. I’m here to help you, so trust me. I won’t let any of you die.” he said to them with a smile. He pointed northeast, the area that they’d be exploring. He put his hand over his eyes to block out the rising sun, and then showed them their destination. “We’re to go that way and see if there’s anything noteworthy. Are you both ready?” he asked them.

Their third party member has finally arrived. Tsukina found himself smiling. They were both capable companions, and loathe as he might be to admit it, he wasn't a classes suited for combat. The best he could do was support them as best as he could from the sidelines. His attention was first to the wolf hair that named herself Eden, who looked burdened in all that armor in shield. She looked like a powerful warrior in her own right, though he could easily mistake him for someone else's little sister. He waved back to her, and when she whispered something to his ear, he politely responded back. "Konnichiwa, Eden-san. It's a pleasure to meet you again. As you probably already know, my name is Tsukina, a wandering shaman. And I think that there is a lot out there that you have yet to learn. This world holds so many secrets just waiting to be unearthed by those tenacious enough to look for them. Such is the same with life. You can't discover the gems without digging deep into yourself, into your heart," Tsukina said this while pointing to the space where Eden's chest was. "But about this scouting mission, I think that our third companion knows a lot more than I do. See? Even I have some more learning to do myself."
His smile grew wider as their third companion approached them, apologizing for his tardiness. Not that Tsukina minded. His antics reminded him of so many shoujo anime he had watched back in the homeland. In fact, he had a growing suspicion that this man, who looked so much like a ninja, was from Japan as well. His suspicions were confirmed the moment the man opened his mouth to apologize. He introduced himself as Kumori, and he pointed them to their destination, before asking them for their readiness for the mission. Tsukina held up his bow in affirmation, a wild grin on his face. "Hai, Kumori-san. We're ready for anything. I myself am excited for these unexplored lands where our curious feet will soon tread. I offer you my bow and my magic as assistance, in hopes that our mission will be a success."

Eden gave Kumori a curt nod. He was going to be a handful she could already tell. Still whispering low enough only for Tsu to hear she spoke "You have always been the scholarly one, aye. I always forget this. Your tongue is flowery with its words." Tapping her Greatshield she spoke loud enough for the human. "You have my shield. No one dies, that is the reason I bear this as my weapon." She had gained some voice after her prior journey's she wasn't to much of a green horn.Eden made a point of checking her equipment before heading out. She led the way out of the camp further. She wasn't much of one to talk, the human seemed like he would be more apt to however. She pulled up her HUD and looked at his stats. As expected from his clothing an Assassin, fairly decent high level compared to herself and the shaman. But there was one thing that was bugging her about him.
Although his stats said otherwise he felt to personable in a way. Assassins always seemed more like the loners or the one's that disappeared from parties to simply reappear at that crucial moments when that last bit of dps is needed or something. Then again she might just be harping on this all way too much. She smiled enjoying the warmth, should could get use to this place the way it always seemed to be in balance even when it rained. It was the subtle differences that made this a place much more akin to her soul. "Kumori," She spoke up, "you've been around for sometime what can you tell us about this place, the beast, the food, the landers." Eden stopped and turned to look at Kumori for a second. "Why did they send us with you?"WORD COUNT: 305

“Two shields eh? Can’t say I’ve seen that often… glad you found something to suit your style,” he said smiling and nodding to Eden. The displays came up for the two players and he found out immediately what their classes and levels were. He realized that one was a Shaman and one was a Cleric, which meant that he was the front line. He decided to bring himself down to their level so that he didn’t have to worry about getting all the aggro. It was also somewhat necessary as the differences between their levels was immense. He clicked a few buttons and after a few seconds, he was able to change his level down to level 3, so that he still had the damage, but didn’t draw as much attention to himself. This also spread out the experience distribution more, so that they’d be able to get an equal portion of the total experience gained.
“Well, first off, there’s not much about this place that isn’t abnormal, compared to what you see outside at Windsor. If you treat every place like a monster ground, you’ll be fine. The more pertinent info, however is that if we do encounter anything, it’ll most likely be Golems. They’re weak against any earth, wind, and water type attacks, so if you have any damage, it’s preferable that you be able to use them of those 3 categories.” he said to them. “But alas, you both are healers, so having that isn’t our luxury today, so what we should do is just concentrate on keeping me alive while I do as much damage to it as possible,” he said to them.
As for the next question, it caught him by surprise. Most people didn’t care who went with them, though he guessed it was the huge disparity between their levels. He explained the reason after she finished asking. “I’ve been sent to help you guys grow while ensuring your safety. My goal is to simply get you out alive while still accomplishing our goal. That is why, just treat me as if I was a normal party member and that I’m not 14 levels above you. You should lead on, since you guys wanted to do this quest, I’m just here for the ride,” he said smiling at them, trying to show that he was genuinely here to help them.

"I don't think it would be wise to send us first, particularly me," Tsukina put in, putting a hand on his chin in thought. He decided that his new party should now -- or in Eden's case, be refreshed -- about his abilities, what he was fully capable of. "I think I haven't introduced myself to you, Kumori-san. Konnichiwa, watashi no namae wa Tsukina desu. (Hello, my name is Tsukina). And as you've already realized, we both come from the same homeland. That is something I am truly happy about, and once we are done with this mission I wish to have the delightful opportunity to have conversation with you. Now, if my clothes are not enough proof, I am a shaman, skilled with the bow and currently only knowledgeable in hindering the movements of my opponents. Even if I know the weaknesses of these golems, I can do no more than to slow them down and whittle away their health with well-placed shots of my bow. In the end, I will leave much of the fighting to you two, my fellow companions.
"I am actually surprised that such a high-level player like you would give the time to help us relative newcomers in the world. I am happy for your assistance, Kumori-san, and hope that we would not be hindrances," Tsukina then turned his attention to the wolf hair named Eden, one who he had quite grown fond of since their last encounter. "As for you, Eden-san. You know what I can do, and I know that you are powerful beyond your means. I trust your shield to protect us, just as I hope that you trust me and my arrows to do their duty."

Eden nodded she tended not to pry much into people's affairs. He seemed to be at least fairly honest about his orders. When Tsu piped up she nodded knowing full well what the Shaman was capable of it had saved her life more than once. She wasn't offended by what the assassin had said either not knowing her to be a battle cleric, or as some would call her an off-tank. Which was fine she would simply ask him a question to see where his thoughts lay. She continued to move down the road until it faded into no more than a animal trail under foot, and kept going until that too became no more than wild uncharted grass. Stopping Eden took a swig of water from her gourd, "Human," she'd forgotten his name it would come to her as she spoke, "When you fight I hear your class tends to be the sneaky kind, how exactly are you going to fare in a real confrontation?" Eden shrugged her left shoulder back it was still giving her I problems but it was definitely getting better.
Her ears went stiff as she lowered her voice just a bit. She pulled her buckler from her back, they had been walking for some time and the wood was thicker here so it was only natural that they encounter beast of some kind. Eden could hear something rustling in the brush a good 100 meters or so to the south east of them and it was getting closer. "Not to be a bother or anything I am just wondering. Would like to ask a favor might I take lead on any encounter we have?" Eden could feel the hair on the back of her neck stand on end what ever was out there was big and was stalking them it seemed. This was exciting she should probably let them know, knowing the human couldn't hear what she and Tsu could. She gave Tsu the signal to ready any spells he had just by looking at him and tapping on her shield. Eden's voice dropped to a hush whisper as she crouched into a battle stance and advanced into the direction of whatever was stalking them. "Kumori, you may want to ready any skills, or weapons you have because although you may not know this something has been stalking us for about a good five minutes or so from a distance." Her nose twitched trying to catch it's scent but there was none. That unsettled her tremendously most things have scents and when something doesn't smell it is either not of this world or long, long dead. Looking back at Tsu she nodded and began her approach, she slid her finger across the top of her shield making it sound off a hollow ringing noise letting Tsu know to cover with his bow. This was going to be fun something new she had not encountered before. "Skill is;Craft" Words 0492

“Kochiro koso,” he said to Tsukina and bowed. This meant that the pleasure was his to have met the acquaintance of Tsukina. Tsukina began listing his equipment and his abilities. He nodded in knowing what to expect from him and how to position him. He said he was surprised that a high-level like him would come and help lower-levels like him, but Ryuu smiled and simply replied with “ie, ie (no, no), I do this because if I was lower in level, I’d want the same thing,” he said to him. After walking the wolf-hair cleric said something aloud. The words human resonated around, and Ryuu looked around to figure out who she was speaking to. He looked at Tsukina and then he pointed at himself. “Oh, me… um… yeah,” he said, not yet answering her question, trying to recall the words that were just spoken. After a few seconds, he answered correctly. “I fare fine… in open combat, as many times, an Assassin’s skills are not as useful when they are alone. After Hate is removed, the creature begins to regenerate its HP. Often, I have to fight without using my Assassin skills that they are prized for,” he said.
She shrugged her shoulder and attempted to conceal her expression of annoyance from her other party members, however Ryuu noticed it. As a tracker, he knew to keep his eyes open on things that seemed to be difficult to see. “Are you hurt?” he asked her, concerned about her welfare.
After she answered, it was quite quiet. She had lowered her voice down, but the sound of rustling wasn’t hard to notice and track. His eyes surveyed the southeast, finding the several broken twigs and crushed leaves. After adjusting his eyes and squinting slightly, he caught a glimpse of the creature activating Eagle Vision and was able to see the creator of the sound in its entirety now in orange. It was a Golem sentry. He didn’t alarm his two party members, since he wanted them to notice it themselves eventually. He looked back at Eden and Tsukina and continued speaking. “Go ahead, Eden. You have two shields, so I guess you should be the one leading. My mind lapsed because of your class, so I made an incorrect formation decision,” he said to her. While he did not need to hear the creature that stalked them, he knew it was there, and the tracks that glowed on his radar began following them. He would look back once in a while to refresh it’s time, trying to brush it off as caution rather than a deliberate act.
“Mmm, you noticed as well… good it seems I won’t be baby-sitting after all,” he said to her. “Call the shots, Miss Eden, I will follow your lead,” he said to her.
Eden turned around, and slipped through, making a noise with her fingers and her shield. She charged forward, but the Golem Sentry was now accruing Hate upon the cleric. It was a level 4 golem sentry, something that would be easy to dispose of if they worked together as a team. The golem thrust his right arm down onto the cleric, attempting to push her back and do damage. This would open up several openings upon the golem, but how much damage would it do to a low-level Battle cleric?

Eden has proven herself to be quite the capable companion in the past, if not very reckless. Many times his magic had helped her out of sticky situations, particularly during that episode with the goblins in Windsor. Since then they have developed a system of signals and sounds that when together, would coordinate their efforts according to the current circumstances. The scraping of the shield told him to be ready to support her should the need arise. He tightened the grip on his bow, and a hand always hovered over the quiver of arrows on his back. If anything should happen to them he was at the prime position to let lose a spell or an arrow, whichever would be more convenient. Unfortunately, the need arose quicker than he had expected.
The creature they encountered was large compared to the others Tsukina was used to hunting. It appeared to be built out of craggy boulders stacked on top of one another. If ti wasn't lumbering towards them, Tsukina would have mistaken it for a simple pile of rocks. Patches of green moss covered it in places that could pass for clothing in humans, particularly around the sensitive areas. If one could look closely, where eyes should be were instead two tiny sparkling gems of indeterminable quality. All in all, the golem that came at them didn't look exactly threatening. But the way the ground slightly shook with its step it took was enough warning for Tsukina to become wary. And as soon as it made a move to attack their cleric, it was clear that he had to respond quickly.
"Art of the Heavy Laden Bush," he whispered, charging the arrow with energy. He drew the bow back to its furthest point, and let loose the arrow once the spell was done initializing. He aimed for a crack in the rocks, hoping for the arrow to be lodged and slow down the golem's movements indefinitely. After he did so, he activated his Scholarly skill, Evaluate, to attempt to find a weakness in the monster. An HUD popped up to the side of his head, containing all the information he needed about the golem. He would relay this information to the others, but they have to regroup first.

100% 90% Eden smiled as the arrow whizzed by her head and struck the golem slowing the already slow beast. The crushing blow to her great shield landed almost like a feather. She knew the spell well, it had saved her life from a previous debacle against some nasty goblins.Turning under the blow she stepped into and beneath the Golem it was something she has learned from Shi, it very simple footwork technique that she had been practicing for some time. It allowed her to slam the edge of her buckler into what she thought to be the Golem's knee without stopping her momentum and allowed her to take any damage dealt and nearly halve it. She kept turning weaving her way in and out around the pillar like legs of the beast, smashing the edge of her buckler and the broad side of her greatshield into it with bone crushing force.
Knowing physical damage to be a very lacking when it came to Golems Eden set her self and let out a mighty roar. "Holy Rampage", being beneath the beast brought it off it's feet as the spell was a knock back. Eden tried to ensure it would topple over bum rushing it with a flurry of blows from her shield. "Oi, assassin now would be a good time as any to attack." she called back hoping that her flurry would be enough to knock the great stone beast down. Eden could feel it tipping but not falling, as another heavy blow struck her in the back of the skull staggering her. Stumbling she let out a cry as she dropped to a knee, having to roll away from another smashing blow and gathering her shield to block another. Eden slid back a good three meters or so, she could see her health had dropped slightly. She began to laugh watching the lumbering Golem start to regain itself. "Kumori, now would be a perfect time to destroy this thing." Eden said as she stood and rushed the Golem again knowing Tsu would continue to let loose his arrows as he saw fit and give her all the aid she needed. She wouldn't be able to use Holy rampage for another ten seconds, she was certain another blast such as that would topple the golem and give them the upper hand. "Skill is;Craft" Words 387

Watching the two fight, it was obvious that had been together before. While it surprised him slightly, they were still far from being amazing, but their current ability was enough to tell him of their potential, which at this point was limitless. The cleric began weaving in and out from under the Golem, trying to use its massive size as an advantage. She even used her shields effectively as both a defensive and offensive measure against the golem. With every stomp, the earth shook, but it wasn’t a problem for the agile assassin. The slowness caused by the enchanter was rather helpful for the tank, but since Ryuu was still higher in level, he was still likely to gain Hate after his first hit. Eden told him to attack, noticing that she had used her Holy Rampage skill. With opening like these, it was rather easy to take advantage of. The golem was beginning to tilt, and it was his chance to force it to topple. Eden told him, but he didn’t need them, they were just used as training for his comrades. Spinning around, he would take a single dagger out of his sheathe. With the momentum of the spin and the already tilting of the golem, it began to topple.
“Get out of there, Eden,” he’d say to her, since the golem was not a light monster in general. Soon after she rolled away from the golem, saving her from further injury. She sustained quite a bit, but it wasn’t enough for Ryuu to worry. His eyes were focused on his opponent, and he hoped that their bowman was a good shot, since he was about to go in. He activated Accel Dance, speeding up his attacks. Because the golem was on the floor, its attacks were mostly useless. It could flail around, and so long as he moved around quickly and was careful around the hands, he didn’t foresee any complications against the golem. With the indefinite slowing of the golem and the knocked down golem, it was Kumori’s time now. “No need to tank while he’s down like this, just attack,” he called out to Eden as he watched his teammate rush in via the mini map. With speed that was fast for a level 3 Assassin, he continued to strike each and every part of the golem.
Unfortunately for them, the battle was not over just yet. The golem was able to get up, finally, but it was still slowed since the arrow was lodged into it. “Eden, take point, Tsukina, keep firing arrows,” he said to the two other players. His knowledge of the cleric class, after studying them for a bit while playing the other renditions of the game, was that that specific skill had a 10 second lockdown on all skills because of its effectiveness. He would step away a second before her second Holy Rampage would go off so that he would be unaffected by it.

Judging by the information presented to him by the Evaluate skill, the Golem scout was a low-level monster with no distinctive skills and stats. Based on its size and speed, it was an easy enough opponent to defeat, provided that they stay out of range of its devastating physical attacks. At the moment it was lying on its back, vulnerable to all attacks. Tsukina took this chance to aim an arrow at one of its weak spots: the crack between thigh and foreleg. It was a tough shot, but if he didn't make it at least he did some damage. He let the arrow lose... and yes, it didn't hit what he intended. Instead, it lodged itself into the crack between its hips. That would help hinder its movements somewhat, but not as much as the arrow with his magic still stuck in the golem. The best thing to do for now was to follow Kumori's advice and keep attacking the golem once it was vulnerable.
Of course, when it stands up, it becomes more of a dangerous fight. To that end, Tsukina kept aiming arrows at its legs, hoping that some of the wood stuck in the cracks would make him more likely to stumble the next time around. "Eden!" he shouted to the cleric. "Try smashing its legs. A great tower with a weak foundation is quicker to fall than the thinnest bamboo with strong roots hidden in the earth. In short, if we weaken his foundation, this fight might go easier than it is. I suggest you do the same, Kumori-san. Or you could try to gauge his eyes out before it stands up. A blind golem is already a fallen opponent." The feel of being the tactician brought such a strange feeling of euphoria to Tsukina. He thought of the things he was capable of with a balanced party, a set of appropriate skills, and some experience under his belt. The thought made him happy, and he longed to return this golem back to the earth where it came from.

80% 80% Eden nodded knowing that her spell would be back off cool down soon. She continued to strike slamming the edge of her buckler into what seemed to be the joints of the great stone beast. She had a fairly tactical mind but she knew that Tsukina was far better suited at the role than she was. She being a berserker and all, once her health began to drop there was no way for her to concentrate on the goal at hand. Tsukina was smart and he tended to stay on the outside of most skirmishes, they had their signals but he would always have a clearer view of the battlefield. While she was lost in her own thought her attacks had become some what lax as the great beast got to it's feet once again. Since she was so close Eden didn't catch the blow coming to her right until the last second. She tried to roll with it since she didn't have the time to raise her shield. It was a critical hit and god did it hurt like hell. Eden's body was sent flying into a tree and she slumped to the ground vision blurred and head spinning. "Well, then." she mumbled half to herself as she shook her head hard and rolled out of the way of the next blow. She didn't know if her bones could be broken but she felt like her right arm had been dislodged from the socket. Checking her HUD she saw her spell was off cool down and she knew that this was the last rush. Roaring at the top of her lungs she rushed the beast one last time turning and jumping she slammed her shields into the top of it's head in a whirling motion landing beneath it in a crouching position she kicked off the ground in a sort of street fighter-esque motion and let loose her skill. "Holy Rampage."
The golem was sent flying back as her skill and the edge of her shield hit what would have been it's chin. The golem turned to dust before hitting the ground and bursted into bubbles, when it finally did denoting the end of the battle. Landing gracefully Eden smirked she had no idea if she had been able to let loose her skill at a single point but she think she had just discovered something. She would have to practice that and test the theory further. "Good call Tsu," she trailed off for a second turning to face Kumori, "I lost concentration there for a second. Costed me some health. I'll have to learn how to see all the enemy without getting tunnel vision. Thank you for allowing me to lead Kumori." Eden bowed. She checked her HUD again, her health was 80% and so was her mana not horrible, she kept both Tsu and kumori from getting full hate, even with Kumori's level difference her skills made the difference in aggro levels. She openly smiled this time as she turned to her party. "Shall we be off then?" "Skill is;Craft" Words 0512

“The pleasure is mine,” he said as he bowed down once again. “My goal is to teach you, not to do everything for you. You are the tank, so you will lead the charge, and as it seems, Tsukina has taken the role of tactician while we are focused on the monsters. Our positions disallow us to keep everything in our minds, because we are in the front line and therefore it is harder for us to see the whole picture. Tsukina, who is mid to long range has the ability to see the entirety of the fight from his perspective. Do not feel obligated to lead us too much,” he said to Eden. What he said was something that all people in a party should remember. They can no longer just trust in themselves, rather they had to trust in whoever was the tactician, for they were the ones who planned everything and communicated with the entire team. Usually tacticians were the only ones to speak during a course of a battle, simply because too many voices were too confusing. The only replies that were allowed were “Affirmative” or “Negative,” with a short explanation. The idea of being a tactician was much like being a captain of a squad. Each person took orders from the tactician so that they were all used efficiently and effectively.
“Tsukina, I’d like you to order us more during a fight. Parties have a telepathic communication system, similar to when you directly contact a friend. If you use that to your advantage, than both of us will know what each other are doing before the action even occurs. The more you utilize your tools, the stronger we will be as a group,” he said to Tsukina.
