Crafting Recipe Proposed: (describe your recipe idea as thoroughly as possible. Try to describe how the item works in-RP and less on how it's crafted OOC.)
Lunar Illusion
Material Required: 1 Magician's Reloader (unused), 1 Basic Grimoire, 1 Quill Pen
Posts Required: 1
Lunar Illusion, like its predecessor, is a template contract that can become attached to a singular weapon. As before, the weapon and contract are linked by scribed spell circles that relate to ID values and requires 2 signatures. By applying this contract, the contracted weapon can automatically reload her ranged weapon with ammunition made of mana. The ammo is functionally identical, except for how it glows dimly of a color of your choice, mana cost increases with ammo size, and drains MP as long as the fired projectile is not dismissed. By combining the magic properties of the grimoire and the Magician's Reloader together, the range and reload speed limits are removed. A stronger contract decreases the maintenance of projectiles on the field and slightly increase the range of the weapon beyond its normal properties. In return for the contract, the weapon becomes locked to the user and cannot be traded away. The entire contract can be negated by signing the release line at the bottom, writing 'Void' across the contract, and ripping it into four pieces. Doing so destroys the contract. In order to use this contract, the weapon must be specified and the contract is locked to the weapon. Because of the nature of this contract, proficiency in this weapon requires the user be proficient in magitech or grimoires, as well as the enchanted weapon.
Explanation:
Much like the Magician's Reloader that came before it, this is a templated contract that improves a weapon. The weapon and the contract are linked via 'id' which links the weapon (scripted with spell circles and junk) and the contract (which has a unique id). Without the weapon, it's a pointless contract, so you're going to need someone to fill in the parameters (a scribe) to attach this to your weapon.
Larger projectiles take more mana. The mana projectiles have the same properties as the original ammunition. The projectiles wooosh when you want them to, but keeping them around takes MP. The Magician's Reloader in the materials can't have been used on a weapon already, as that violates the premise of overwriting the original's function but leaving the base parameters and such. The last line means that if you're enchanting a bow, you need to be able to use the bow plus be able to use magitech or grimoires.
The reload time was pretty crap and taking grimoires and replacing their 'bolts' in place of ammo seemed like a reasonable next step when improving 'Magician's Reloader' further. Scoria basically explained the combination of all parts into one in the thread itself, but yeah. Magician's Contract, except replace actual ammo with a mana construct. Then let them fire away. Pewpew.
No elemental properties. Yet. huehuehuehue. Affectionately referred to as the 'Springadingding'.
