Landers of Londenium directed any curious adventurers to a hut which was a little way into the marshlands. The lander who lived in that hut, an old man by the name of Jesse, would send any willing adventurer on a quest to rid the marshlands of the foul army. Though the occupant of a sad little shack, the landers explained that old man Jesse was just a simple man who would usually mind his own business. He had a lot of coin stored from his younger days and he continued to look for useful things, mostly herbs, in marshlands so that they could be sold in town. The old man, they said, would be more than willing to handsomely repay any person who could rid his backyard of the offending goblins.
With the thought of a handsome reward in mind, the samurai Caerbannog set off towards the Marshlands and arrived there just before the sun was on its zenith. She soon found the small hut; it was difficult to miss for white smoke emerged from one small exhaust pipe at the top of the shack. The smoke did not seem noxious at all so the girl figured that the man inside was just boiling water or perhaps some soup. She knocked on the door and she was promptly answered by a wrinkled old man who had only a few strands of red hair amidst a lot of white. He seemed fairly friendly though and so far had not chased her off while yelling ‘git outta mah propertee!’
“ Goblin quest? “ she asked the man, and the reply came as a nod.
“ Better wait for other people, “ Jesse suggested, “ Dunno how many goblins there are. But there’s a lot lot lot! “
The samurai sat right beside the hut’s doorstep while the lander pulled a wooden chair and sat on it. He sat right on the doorway and both waited for more adventurers to come by to take the quest. Though her level was sufficient enough to take out some enemies, Caerbannog was not that confident to face what could be a massive army of goblins. With just their sheer number, they could probably do many deplorable things to her and she did not want any of that. And so she continued to wait, alert. One of the stumps around the hut could suddenly get possessed. She did not want mud to her face, thank you very much. Or some generally passive snails could suddenly become aggressive.
Since the door was open, Caerbannog glanced into the old man’s hut. Indeed, there were lots of dried items, mostly fungi, in the shack and most of them were neatly labeled as different kinds of mushrooms, both used for creating potions and for cooking. On a small table, some dried mushrooms were laid out and a pile of green, leafy vegetables sat close to it. Seems that the old man was getting ready for lunch.

A young boy found himself walking to the wretched marshlands again. There were rumors in Londenium about some Goblin Scouts raising an army in the said area, and they looked really numerous that the term "an army" would definitely fit. The way they talked about it, the goblins that formed a camp within the marshlands number more than a hundred. Those who seemed interested in taking the army down was directed to a hut which was owned by an old Lander named Jesse. There were rumors that the old man Jesse would give a large amount of gold to those who could disband the army that the goblins produced. This would be very hard, given the number and level of the goblins, but it would pay much. Darko, though a generic sorcerer using only a wand and a grimoire, was not a laughing matter even when in melee range, after all.
He found the marshlands as evil-smelling as before, but it did not matter then as he was there to dismantle an army to make him stronger than before. The experience from this fight would make him know more about crowds of monsters and how to control their numbers to his advantage. And this might also boost his fighting skills due to a large increase in his level. If he managed to finish this, he would become the greatest sorcerer of all. This would be something that he would dare not miss. The stakes are great, but the rewards much greater than what he would bet, and the chances that he would bet upon was also large, and so it would be a good investment of his time in this world.
He then found the hut that the Landers talked about, and sure enough, he saw the old man, who might be Jesse, sitting at the doorway. A long trail of smoke was forming from the chimney of the hut, but by the looks of the smoke, the boy would only think that he was cooking something. Another adventurer stood by the hut; the armor on the person's body darker than night. As he saw the adventurer, he knew that that person was someone to be reckoned with, and with the thought that the person was also there to defeat a whole army of goblins, he knew that it would be better to have the person as an ally than to make that person an enemy. Although he knew that he himself was strong, there's no doubt that the samurai would defeat him in one swing. He then just moved towards the old man.
"Your name was Jesse, right?" he said to the old man sitting at the doorway. "I'm here about the army of goblins near your house." The response of the old man was for him to wait for other people due to the enormity of the army, and so he moved towards a wall of the hut and leaned his whole body on it as he rested while he waited on other people to make their way here.

Seeing as she was bored without anything else to do, she then decided to look around for quests that she could partake in. Wondering if it was alright to be in an average-sized party, she then saw the details of one, and ripped the paper clean off the notice board and began… well, reading it as she was walking. True, she was still having some difficulty understanding written English, but she was thankful for the lessons she’d been receiving; and could now understand just a bit more of the language. Wondering if headed to the old geezer’s property was a good idea, she decided to switch out her weapons and try something new, which was the longbow she’d acquired quite recently. Placing her dagger (and kunai) inside the space that was otherwise known as her ‘Inventory’, she then held said longbow while reading the scrap of paper in her other hand; apparently there was some sort of Goblin infestation problem, and an old man wanted help in getting rid of them.
This really reminds me of that other game I was in before… she thought to herself as she began whistling a tune as she walked down the path headed to a certain marshy area; and the moment she got there, her nose wrinkled up out of disgust; was it really this horrible-smelling?! She then sighed as she turned around and took a deep breath before plunging into the messy, tangled wilderness; thankfully there were still some houses scattered here and there. How the hell do they even put up with the stench? She thought, shaking her head as she saw that there was an old grandmother seated outside one of the houses, apparently hawking some wares. After getting some directions from her (along with some extra delectables to bring along) she then began munching on these things called ‘cookies’; while taking the path that she’d pointed out to the Assassin.
She sure makes them good… shame there’s no milk to be had… she thought as she bit into another one, feeling the chocolate roll on her tongue while swatting away the undergrowth that she was now trawling through with her other hand (that was still clutching said bow). After a while of beating through the undergrowth, she then came out to a house where there a old man stood, screeching at the two other people gathered there about something that reeked of Goblin; and she was certain that she’d found the place. Picking up the pace, she then saw that the two faces there were familiar; she’d been with them on a mapping quest recently. “You need one more to take out the Goblins?” she asked in English, waving the paper in the direction of the old geezer; to which incoherent muttering and rambling issued before he waved around his walking stick that was perched nearby.
Geez, he has anger issues… she thought to herself as she popped the cookie into her mouth and approached, hearing him say, “...you wai’ for one mo’, she’s going along wi’ ya, I guess,” and then sat himself down once more, leering at the short Elf that had now approached them. “So, we meet again,” she said to the two—before going into her bow and then straightening herself up; and then plucking out another cookie and chewing on it, while waiting for someone else to show up. Recca scrutinized at the request boards in the city center of Londonium. The boards were large, but not enough to facilitate the number of papers, flyers and what not pinned onto them. Since the Catastrophe, the number of requests proliferated while players were still trying to adjust themselves to Elder Tale. Most of them were busy settling down and having no time for quests. Not like they need to worry seeing that they have so many gold coins on hand which can practically last for at least a few weeks. It gave a chance for newbies to take on quests to learn the basics of battles hands on. And Recca sure does need it! She surveyed the boards and eventually came to a stop at an old parchment. She grabbed the flyer off the board. "Is this what players call a request?" she thought. "Lets see now.." she brought the piece of old paper close to read.
"Says here an old man by the swamps needs people to clear up the Goblin infestation.." she muttered. Goblin?! Recca shivered at the thought of grotesque, mutated humanoids resembling toads chasing after her with studded clubs. She looked at the status bar that popped up in front of her. Level one Bard.. what can a support class do to fend of bands of armed goblins. "Maybe I shouldn't.." she felt demotivated. But she looked at the paper again, and recalled what her new guildmaster, Kumori had said. This old man needed help, and it's out job as adventurers to assist those in need. She immediately heaved a sigh and headed towards the swamps with the paper in her hand. "I can't turn this down. It's a good opportunity for me to learn." she reassured herself as she slowly approached the creeping swamp areas. Wouldn't be that bad, she had a spear to protect herself at least.
The sight of the certain marshy area was just the beginning of what's coming up. The moment the smell of the marsh got her, her nose wrinkled up out of disgust—was it really this horrible-smelling?! She then sighed as she turned around and took a deep breath before plunging into the messy, tangled wilderness. "Why did I do this?" she thought dolefully as she took each step into the muddy ground. The ground was so fragile and sticky that each step she took, her foot almost sunk into the brown, moss green-ish gunk. After a deal of walking, Recca stopped to look around and turn her attention back onto the parchment. "Where's the house?" she said. Was she lost? "Oh crap. What am I going to do? I'm lost, I don't know how to get back to the city..." she started to worry. Tracing her steps was no use, since every route looked exactly the same. "What am I going to do.." she wailed with tears in her eyes. She crouched and started to cry, in the middle of the swamp. It was humiliating but at least no one was there to witness it.

She thought that Elder Tale was full of giants, but she thought wrong. Caerbannog looked at the sorcerer who was just invited to the party after old man Jesse sent her an invitation that she promptly accepted. She would have greeted the boy but he seemed to be the type to keep to himself, so the samurai let him be.
A familiar face then came into view, the assassin Hanelli. She too was invited to the party and at that, Caerbannog waved to acknowledge the newcomer, stood up and straightened herself. There was still at least one more slot since it was impractical to move out with too many or too few people. The samurai looked around but there was no one in sight. But then a blip on her map alerted the girl to a nearby ally. The mark was different from that of Hanelli’s or, she noted the sorcerer’s name, Darko’s. She excused herself from the other two, though they would be welcome to tag along, and as she walked on, Caerbannog heard a sound that was reminiscent of someone crying. And indeed, there was an adventurer who seemed to be distressed. There were no other people in view so the blip on the map meant that, that crying girl was an ‘ally’.
“ From Aeryn? “ the samurai asked the much taller girl and then she pointed at her own face, “ Samurai of Aeryn. “
Caerbannog then checked her party interface and noted that the leadership had already been turned over to her by the old man. And there in front of her was a guild mate and a potential fourth member for the party, so the samurai sent a party request to the sniffling one. A shriek echoed through the woods just then, something inhuman but not quite the sound of an animal. Unless she was mistake, the samurai thought the sound to have been made by a goblin. Were they fighting or were they being attacked? She was not sure but they should be cautious nonetheless. Once the Aeryn member accepted the party request, the samurai would synch her level down to Hanelli’s. It would lock out her Tier II skills, but she would be fine even with just Tier I moves.
More shrieks rang through the forest and the sound seemed to be coming from way past Jesse’s house. The old man had locked himself in the confines of his home and would probably just answer the door once their quest was concluded, so the adventurers were on their own. Caerbannog looked over her party mates to see if they were ready. As the tank, she would walk ahead of them. They all seemed to be range-type DPS anyway. As for the shrieks which continued to haunt the Marshlands, that was enough to send all other creatures into hiding. The path towards the Goblin Scout Camp was paved for them... if only they could find it without getting terribly lost.

As the young boy noted the arrival of a third person for the quest, he straightened his back and stretched his arms, thereupon issuing a yawn from his mouth. It had been a long amount of waiting before the person arrived there, and so he felt kind of sleepy. He then glanced at the newcomer; she seemed familiar, and he might have seen her at one time or another. When the person drew nearer, he remembered: she was that elf assassin who directed their explorations in Sarum. Although he had not known of her skills at that time; being a good taskmaster in the front line that was Sarum and the fact that she arrived here meant that she was also strong. If not, why else would she come here if she can't handle hordes of monsters? Come to think of it, the samurai also participated in that scouting quest. The woman, after talking to the old Lander who seemed to be put off by whatever was on her body or her mannerisms, greeted the two who were already in the meeting place, namely the samurai and him. The boy just said nothing as she greeted them, but only gave a short bow in response to the woman's bow.
When the party prompt appeared in his sight, he accepts it, and then leaned again on the wall of the hut. He intended to take a nap first before the fourth person comes, but as he was closing his eyes he saw the samurai darting off to another location. Maybe she had sensed some goblins coming their way. Naturally, he followed the samurai as she ran into the marsh, the wind on his face smelling as bad as ever. He then saw the samurai helping out another person who looked as if she cried for some time. But the thing that shocked him was that girl and the samurai were guild-mates. It seemed as if the guilds all around this world were desperate on getting members. But he would not join a guild anyway, so he should not care about the recruiting patterns of the guilds around him. And so he just stared as the samurai added the Level 1 bard into their team. He did not care about the levels of the people in their party, as long as they do their job admirably, but it did leave him some sort of a doubt if the bard could be of help to them.
Suddenly, while the three of them were in the forest, they heard a shriek. But the voice sounded as if it could not come from a human or a lander. It might have come from the army of the goblins, whose camp location was yet unknown to them. He nodded at the samurai beside him, making her known that he was ready. He then equipped his staff and his grimoire, preparing for the worst.

Now that they were complete it was time to actually get a move on hunting down the goblins. Seeing that she still had a few more ‘cookies’ left over from the grandmother that she’d encountered earlier, she decided to keep the rest of it and hold off from eating them until the current quest was complete. Now that they were together in a single party, she decided to prepare by getting her weapon ready. she knew that she’d been using her bladed weapons too much lately; and decided to go ahead and use the longbow this time; since they were hunting Goblins and it was much easier to get an arrow in them as compared to hunting down huge constructs of rock that just merely caused said arrows to break. She then began pawing around in her Inventory and finally came up with a few quivers of arrows, and then strung an arrow into the bowstring and then began moving forward along with the others; ready to hunt.
Just then, she felt her ears twitching. Not too soon after her ears started twitching, there were shrieks coming from the marshland. At first it was just a singular shriek; then it started to multiply in number; she had a bad feeling that they were going to be surrounded. These were Goblin Scouts they were talking about, after all. Han could feel her ears twitching even more and then a singular shriek then emanated from somewhere near where they were walking; were they on to the adventurers that were headed their way? She then sighed, and kept a sharp eye out just in case they were snuck up on... and then, it happened. A shadow had darted somewhere near where she stood; and it was making its way towards their fourth member; and from what she could see in her peripheral display; as their last member was just level 1! Better act fast… she thought as she quickly swung around 180 degrees and saw that the shadow that had darted out was now shrieking all sorts of what Han thought were profanities; and she then let the bow sing.
The arrow that she’d strung up went sailing through the air; and then cut off the shrieking noise, just as it was headed towards their other companion, and she saw the name of the creature; it was the ‘Weak Goblin Scout’ and it was at level 4. Definitely no problem for a level 13 like myself, but still a potential disaster for a level 1 adventurer… she thought as she strung up another arrow and let it fly towards the Weak Goblin Scout which had decided to change track and was now headed towards her instead! Han then shouted as loudly as she dared, “We might be surrounded, get ready!” and then let the arrow loose; it caught the mob straight in its hands, just as it was shooting out to take a swipe at her. She then rolled off to one side as it quickly skidded across the dirt, and then leapt towards her once again; but this time she was ready, as there was another arrow in her bow. She then let the arrow fly; and since the Weal Goblin Scout was extremely close to her, she’d scored a direct hit on its throat, and the ugly shrieking stopped before exploding into bits of data.
Well they are ‘weak’ after all, but how about the others…? She thought as she saw the Quest indicator flash, a sign that she’d taken out one of the required number of mobs and then more shrieking noises permeated the area. Ah crap. She thought, stringing up another arrow and then quickly dashing towards their level 1 companion, and quickly taking up the position of ‘rear guard’. “Calm down, okay? Let me handle this,” she said towards the girl who was apparently wielding a spear; as she began looking around just in case they started attacking from the flanks. The shrieking noise was definitely louder—she had a suspicion that the one she’d just killed had alerted its companions that there were people headed their way! her suspicions were confirmed as another shadow came leaping right out of the shrubbery nearest to her; and she saw that the name was also ‘Weak Goblin scout’; and she let the arrow fly right at it; and it let out a howl as it collapsed to the marshland floor. Knowing that they could potentially be surrounded, she then began stringing up as many arrows as she could possibly fire off; and in just a few minutes, another one of the Weak Goblin Scouts shrieked before exploding into bits of data. It was up to them to make the best of the situation though that would prove to be quite a challenge what with the stink from the marshlands, which Caerbannog didn’t care for, and the sheer amount of goblins camped nearby. As they made their way to the source of the shrieks and screams, Hanelli was the first one to defend their group from incoming attackers. With her bow, the assassin was able to kill off two weak goblins scouts without delay.
As the party’s tank, Caerbannog’s priority was not killing off the creatures; rather, she had to draw the mob’s Hate upon herself and set them up for easy pickings by the other party members, most especially for the sorcerer. Based on what she’d seen before, that was a powerful class and with the targets’ levels no too far off from Darko’s, there was no doubt that he could kill them off if given the chance. The set up would have to be right though, and the placement of the drawn mobs should be not too far from the sorcerer’s range.
The goblin army sent out their Weak Goblin Scouts first, five of them to be precise. Somewhere behind the shadows, five Level 6 Goblin Scouts were ready to attack if the weaker ones did not succeed. Caerbannog intercepted the incoming weak goblin scouts. She dashed in front of the party stopped on her tracks when they were about a meter away. She noticed some movement behind the trees to her right side and at least was aware that more mobs could move in at any time. Regardless, the samurai put her right foot forward and held her right hand up for the weak goblin scouts to see. Since they were close by, the goblin scouts also saw the samurai’s taunt. The girl then put out a thumbs-up sign which she quickly inverted to a thumbs-down one.
A [Samurai’s Challenge] had been issued to all of the mobs within the vicinity and aside from the humiliating nature of the girl’s gestures, the Elder Tale system amped up the scouts’ Hate towards the samurai. They would be unable to attack any of the other party members for that turn, a good setup for the sorcerer. Five Level 4 Weak Goblin Scouts ran towards Caerbannog with all their measly weapons, while the better equipped Level 6 Goblin Scouts rushed in from behind the treats. Instead of moving away from the incoming attackers, Caerbannog bent her knees to take up an offensive stance. One draw of her sword could cut up a goblin, what with her passive Iaido, but she merely put her hand on her sword’s hilt.
Being in a party required taking up roles, and hers was that of the tank. She was not there for body counts or to headshots, but to set up the battlefield for the other party members. So with much patience, Caerbannog just stood there as the scouts moved in from the front and from her right side. As soon as the Weak Goblin Scouts were within her sword’s range, the samurai dashed forward and broke through their line which sent some of the creatures stumbling to the side. Caerbannog still did not draw her sword, and then she turned around to face the scouts again. Due to that movement and the creatures’ focus on her, their backs were then turned towards the rest of the party members and the sorcerer could most probably exploit that setup to his heart’s content.

The vulnerable bard looked up to the girl that stood in front of her. Her status bar popped up beside her. "Caerbannog. Wolf Hair. Samurai. Level 55?!" she thought, skimming through the brief info of this character. But the last thing that caught her eye was the girl's affiliation - Aeryn. It was the same guild she recently joined. “ From Aeryn? “ the samurai asked the Recca. "Yes." she stiffled. So there was someone of higher level than Kumori. She always had the perception that the guild leader has to be of the highest level possible among his or her comrades. "Umm.. do you know Kum..." Before she could complete her sentence, she turned to the shrieks that echoed from the depths of the marshlands. Goblins, no doubt about it. She looked back at Caerbannog, the wolf hair signaled to the rest of the party members to prepare to enter battle. Two more figures exited the shabby wooden hut. A sorcerer and an assassin. Both of which are higher levels. Recca saw some hand gesture, and subsequently a party request popped up. She didn't stick around to wait for an answer and rushed along with the other two into the forest, slowly leaving her behind.
"Party request?" she stared in contempt. What does this mean? She received a similar one not too long ago - guild request. She tried to discern the difference and eventually forgot the situation at hand. First, she's supposed to hunt goblins. Second, she's alone... again. "Crap! I forgot." she reminded herself. Recca immediately accepted the request without hesitation and ran towards where the three were dashing off to. She looked back one last time. There's no turning back if she proceeds. Contemplating on whether she should reverse, Reeca heard a distinct shriek nearby, approximately 5 meters or so. 5 meters? She turned her head in front to see a weak but armed Goblin pouncing above her. She was stunned for a moment or so. How was she going to react? Should she hit it, but what if it won't work? She's still unsure of the battle system, leaving her vulnerable while the goblin tries to devour her face.
She cowardly shielded herself with both arms. Boom! Boom! she peeked through her half-closed eye slits. The goblins were demobilized and suddenly exploded into pixels, with some items dropping onto the muddy floor. She looked at the arrows that landed near her feet. Who could've? Recca then looked towards the assassin, Hanelli that concealed herself within the foliage. In her hand, she wielded a bow and arrow. "Thank you." she whispered. But that's not important, what's more crucial is the fierce battle in front. Caer, the samurai, was standing in the middle fending off the goblins while the sorcerer, Darko perhaps, was busy handling goblins from afar. "Samurai Challenge!" the wolf hair cried. The goblins that were dashing towards Darko, averted their target towards Caer instead. "She's taking all of the damage? But why..." she mumbled. She can't let her do that. As a comrade she couldn't allow anyone to get hurt and Caer's health bar was decreasing gradually. The sorcerer can't defeat goblins alone as well, same for the assassin who was already burdened with protecting the sideline party members.
"What should I do? There's no healer in the group.." she fumbled nervously through her status bar, in search of anything useful. Starter potions? No. EXP pot? Not now. Parchment? No. There was practically no items applicable here. "Wait a minute.." a light bulb flashed above her head. Battle commands.. she pressed. During game registration, she read through the Bard descriptions and found out that this class can inflict offensive attacks just as the latter weapon specialists. "Resonance Beat? What's that..." the only bar which was noticeable in the list of commands. She read through the short explanations and looked back at Caer. Seventy five percent left. "There goes nothing." she said pressing the command. Recca lifted the spear and impaled it into the soft ground.
[Resonance Beat] had been issued upon the weak scout goblins and scout goblins within a few meter radius, followed by the echo of Recca's chant. The stagnant waters rippled vigorously and the goblins momentarily froze for a few seconds. Their figures vibrated for a bit, but there wasn't any movement so far. It was good, however Recca saw the command bar indicating that the spell won't last long due to her weak level.
OOC: Sorry for late reply..

[attr="class","quest"] Get Those Goblins! QuestEradicate a small army of goblins which is camped out in the Marshlands.NPC: Jesse List of Objectives:- Kill Weak Goblin Scouts Lv4 : 7/15 - Kill Goblin Scouts Lv6 : 2/10 Participants:1) [Tank] @dindeen Lv55 (Teacher System: Synch to 13 to match Hanelli) 2) [DPS]Darko Lipowitz Lv6 3) [DPS]Hanelli Lv13 4) [DPS]Recca Lv1 Equipped: Charcoal Yoroi with Pitch-black Yukata | Windsor Antiqua Nagamaki (2H) Skill: Shunsen (C2) with Iaido | Tsurugibunshin (C3) As the goblin scouts moved in, Recca was able to catch up to the party and did her best at crowd control. With the goblins around the samurai in an arc, Resonance Beat was able to hit them from the back. It was a good start but the level gap between the mobs and the bard meant that they got minimal damage. Caerbannog did not unsynch even with the inactivity of some party members. Instead she moved on to her second chain [Shunsen] with [Iaido] to stop the goblins on their tracks. It was not a stun or paralysis effect but a vacuum wave which halted the movement of those caught in it. The Goblin Scouts were still free to flail their arms and for that one moment that they were caught in the Shunsen wave, the weak ones threw their weapons at the samurai... which she, of course, dodged.
Caerbannog then chained her third ace move [Tsurugibunshin]. It was the only Chain Three move for Tier I that she had since the samurai struck off Seinarushinken from her skills list. That one was a flashy ace but not quite fitting for her moveset. With the effect of Iaido which strengthened Shunsen, the weaker goblin scouts were all but dead. The samurai dashed right into the closest one and sent it off to Elder Tale heaven. Afterimages followed her as she moved owing to Tsurugibunshin’s effect. She then slashed at two Goblin Scouts to her right and the extra hit from the afterimages gleaned off whatever hit points they had left after the first strike. As for the Weak Goblin Scouts, Caerbannog did not use her sword’s blade. She punted them with either the hilt or took a boot to their faces, and soon they vanished from the Marshlands.
Three Goblin Scouts remained and as expected of overpowered creatures, they shrieked, turned tail and ran off. Since she had minimal long range capabilities and her ace move Tsurugibunshin disallowed the usage of another skill while it was active, Caerbannog had to rely on the other members of the party to catch the goblin scouts. The samurai moved to her right side and made sure to stay out of her fellow adventurers’ direct line of sight, but she ran on and tried to go after the goblins. As for the nearby camp, it heard the shrieks of the remaining three Goblin Scouts and their leader, whoever it was, sent out five more scouts, this time also Level 6 only, and ten Level 1 Weak Goblin Scouts. If the long-ranged adventurers could kill off the escaping goblins, it would prevent them from joining up with the incoming mob.
“ Disable or hit, please, “ the samurai called out to her party mates in case they did not notice the escapees.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Now the entire place had erupted into sheer pandemonium; once she’d began picking off on the Scouts, the other goblins were bound to notice that something was definitely up. Han then fitted another arrow into the bow string, and then took aim; catching one of the Weak Scouts as it was literally jumping in her direction, claws outstretched and ready to take a bite out of her. “Oh no, you don’t,” she continued, quickly reaching back and loading up her bow with another arrow as well. Arrow after arrow then began flying from her position; and she knew that her Quest notification was now going off like mad, because Caer had taken the point position and was sweeping up the Goblins up ahead. As for behind, it was left to her to get moving; otherwise their companions would become Goblin food, and that was a very ugly way to die in the world of Elder Tale. “Come on, uglies, get over here!” she hissed, fitting an arrow and firing it off in the direction of the same Weak Scout that was now attempting to take a chew out of her leg. She heard the ghastly shrieking, and quickly fired off another arrow in order to be able to silence its throat; and it happened after two more arrows sank into the Weak Scout’s body, shrieking in her face before exploding and fading away into nothingness.
Now that the threats from one side were extinguished, her Elvin ears picked up the sound of even more shrieking, and she silently wished that the Goblins would just either shut up, or roll into a ditch and kill themselves quietly; because the noise was ingratiating enough as it was coming from one throat; but to multiply that by an unknown number… well it would definitely be enough to take the fight out of an adventurer. Seeing that this time, there was a Scout headed her way along with its infantry ‘back-up’, she then fitted another arrow into the bowstring, but this time enchanted this projectile with the electric property. She then watched as the Scout then charged forward, as if rushing into battle and the minions behind it erupted into shrieking as well; she then let the charged projectile loose towards the charging Scout and she managed to hit its shoulder, which made the shrieking even louder than usual. Ugh, just shut up already! She thought angrily as she then continued to fire off more arrows, and with some effort, managed to take down the Scout that was just about to take a bite out of her arm. The ‘infantry’ that was chasing after it suddenly broke ranks and began to scatter; but not before she loaded her bow up and then let the arrows fly towards the escapees.
No, you’re not getting away, she thought angrily as arrow after arrow issued and whistled from her longbow; and she noticed that the trajectory of the arrows was slightly off; but for the most part they managed to find their mark; and in this manner she had managed to take out three more of the Weaker Scouts that were attempting to call for aid. As she reached back again though, her fingers met empty air; and then she realized that she had just run out of arrows! “Ah crap,” she hissed, risking the vulnerable time it would take for her to sling up another quiver and continue firing off arrows… when another Goblin Scout appeared and rallied the remaining ‘survivors’ of the charging infantry. Now that their number had a ‘leader’; they began charging again; and in the last few seconds before Han got attacked she had managed to sling up said quiver of arrows and backpedaled so that she could have enough room to fire off even more arrows! “Gah, stupid little…” she hissed, quickly slinging arrows and firing in the direction of the Goblin Scout, which was now attempting to apparently issue orders to its underlings to swarm the weaker members of the party.
“You will not touch them!” she shouted as she then proceeded to fire off arrow after arrow into the Goblin Scout; alternating between it and the lead Weak Scout behind it; and after some time she had managed to down the two targets; which then rendered the remaining six members of the ten-member ‘infantry’ squad leaderless again. “Go, get them!” she said in the direction of her other two companions; seeing as their ‘fearless leader’ was now busy and trying to hold off more incoming attacks at the present time.
