1,286 barbarossa let it begin ❀ | "Give me a few more minutes mom, I'm not ready to go to school yet." Her fingers twitched slightly before curling aiming to grab hold of the bedsheets underneath in case her mother decided to flip her out of bed unceremoniously. The blades of grass underneath her were crushed against the palm of her hand tickling the pads of her fingers. The sunlight peeking through the trees' canopy of leaves overhead dotted her face causing an unusual sense of warmth to run throughout her body. Nose twitching, she frowned before allowing one eye to crack open noticing the clear blue sky along with the forest green leaves that fluttered with the wind over her head. Opening her hand, she pushed against the ground sitting up and looking around with a curious expression and half-lidded eyes. There were many people around her curled in a fetal position hugging their legs to their chest, others were fighting and talking amongst themselves. She blinked once and then twice before yawning and rubbing her eyes, what had happened? Though it dawned upon her as she gazed down towards her hands and feet covered in the leather armor designed for her Elder Tale avatar of the events that happened before she fell in slumber. Lifting her head, around them she could see several buildings some were aged and battered though others seemed rather healthy albeit covered with vines. It seemed like nature was taking over the city which resembled the capital of the United Kingdom, or in her terms - home. Bringing her knees to her chest, she placed her cheek against them and gazed upwards at the sky replaying the events in her mind. Opening her eyes instead of standing in her bedroom amongst several mounds of schoolwork, she was placed in a town quite unusual from her own or at least she thought it was a town. A katana was equipped to her back along with another on her hip, she was wearing leather armor that didn't seemed to be battle appropriate but it was good enough for the time being keeping her body modest. However upon swiping her hand down in pure curiosity, her HUD appeared and the realization that she was inside of Elder Tale or at least a world that seemed entirely too similar to Elder Tale. There were people around her in the same positions as they were now but the first thought that came to Laz's mind was sleep. All she wanted to do was sleep and worry about this later. If it was a dream, she would just wake up at one point so what did it matter? Taking advantage of her naivety, she fell into slumber. Though now she was awake and having to face reality. So she was stuck inside of a game forced upon her by the 'king of games' a.k.a her eldest brother. Letting out a sigh, she wondered how her mother and father were faring in the real world - did they even know she was gone? Had her brothers known that this would have happened? No, they were far too idiotic and boyish to have anticipated something like this. Perhaps the Novasphere Pioneer expansion had more to do with the game than she had thought. At that moment her stomach decided to growl and her eyebrow twitched. Perhaps it would be a better idea to get food before inquiring about anything else. Standing to her feet, she put her arms behind her head and began to wander away from the comfortable spot on the ground. Though it soon dawned upon her that to buy food in the game, she would need money. Well that was a bummer, and she wasn't sure if anyone around her could help since they seemed shell-shocked by the idea of being stuck in a game. Although to Laz it was more of an exciting opportunity. There were no parents to tell her what to do, and no one that could stop her from making all the trouble that she wanted. Although at the same time, she'd have to take care of herself and find a means of protecting along with sheltering herself. Besides that, who would she call her parents or associate as her family? Feeling a gloom arise on her shoulders, she sighed and rubbed the back of her neck. All of the bright sides were beginning to turn negative rather quickly. Perhaps she could find someone to call her family, perhaps she could find people to even call friends - and maybe one of them would be a chef. In the mean time, she could explore the safe town until she gathered enough information to be sure that she was in Elder Tale and everything would either run the same or she'd have to develop a new game plan. Looking about the town, she felt a bit of nostalgia in its appearance relating it to the world that she once knew. There were no bustling streets filled with cars, and sidewalks full of chattering people. There were no airplanes flying overhead or trains racing by. It seemed so abandon and the darkened mood of the people wasn't making anything better. Pocketing her hands, she groaned and shook her head. Any more of those dark thoughts and she'd end up more boring than these adults, that would be a nightmare in itself. To survive in this game she would have to keep herself positive and upbeat. Pretend that she was still playing only a game and just roll with it. This was her new reality and as much as she missed her family, she'd have to get along with it. That feeling of being dependent on something, missing someone sickened her to the very pits of her stomach. Elizabeth Balcom did not depend on anyone and neither did Lazarus. But I could go for some food. Rubbing her stomach as it growled in agreement, she looked around. The two things that she could do were steal from one of the People of the Land or another player. However if she stole from another player and was tracked down, there would be no way that she could defend herself. Although if she stole from one of the People of the Land, she'd have a bad relationship with them and that would put a damper on her if she ever needed them in the future. Folding her arms, she let out an impatient sigh. This was absolute murder, how was she going to get something to eat. What was this world thinking of not giving her any money on jumping in? "This tastes like crap! How am I supposed to eat this?!" Laz's eyebrow arched and she turned her head towards a male character who threw a good-looking sandwich to the ground. Folding her arms over her chest, she waited till he walked away before walking over to examine it from all angles. That was odd, it looked good and didn't seem to be poisonous at all so what could the problem be with it? She chalked it up to people being stupid and not satisfied with the food that they were given. Giving it a quick sniff, it smelled like a normal sandwich the ingredients needed. How could something like that be inedible? Nothing was adding up in her head, and she shrugged her shoulders before going on her way. This was becoming a chore, and she wasn't enthusiastic when it came to completing it. Living in this world wouldn't be easy, and she'd have to go through hell and back to be able to do it. Ah well, I've always loved a good challenge. |
