Seeing as her Main and Crafting classes were shaping up nicely; but her Roleplay class was still stuck at a measly, horrible level 1, she decided to go hunting today. There were some quests that were asking for assistance, but they were not of the kind that she needed; she was looking for something that seemed reasonable enough to do without having to resort to hacking and slashing at the things she needed to get so that the ‘People of the Land’ would be satisfied. Is it just me or are they really starting to get annoying… she thought to herself as she was perusing the giant Quest Board again located in the city, hoping to find something that she could do without so much interference. That and sniping things from up in trees seems much better than being chased around… she thought as she saw a promising one, it was from a Chef (that wasn’t a Player) asking for assistance in hunting down quite a number of Boars, as well as Rabbits and the odd number of Weasels on it; then she realized where the Quest was coming from, it was from several Chefs who were dead-set on running and establishing their own Restaurant in the city.
Well why not? If I can get special access once I bring in all this meat then sure… she thought as she quickly reached for the note and ripped it clean off the board; a sign that it was taken and was now hers for the finishing. She then reviewed the request, and found it quite odd, aside from the usual number of Boars (and their younger kin) there were also requests for hunting down Rabbits, as well as Weasels. So they want to have the norm and the exotic… she thought as she quickly opened up her Inventory and dropped out her longbow. This time was going to be different, she was going to try and shoot them all down. She then realized she needed arrows; so stopping for a bit to get her things into place, she then popped her dagger and kunai into the Inventory and slung out a quiver of arrows—and then decided to take along a few more extra, because seriously, how was she going to kill everything without ruining the meat on them?
I hope my aim is true. Otherwise, I’d regally suck so bad… she thought as she made her way down and out of the main hustle and bustle of the City, and was now starting to tromp across the Windsor Greatwood; the place where the quest had told her to start her hunting session. She had no idea what these creatures were like; all except the Weasels, as she’d already tangoed with them in a previous time with the red-head. She then took a deep breath, and then listened, because there was no way she was going to be caught unaware and get knocked over by something out of the ordinary and make her loose her cool. Alright, focus. Seven young boars, ten of the full-grown ones, five weasels, and eight rabbits on the check list. Why they need this much will remain a mystery to me. Ah, whatever. She thought as she opened her eyes and silently activated one of her skills, Accel Dance just in case she needed to move around quickly.
After a while, she heard a scratching, scuffling noise from up ahead, so she directed her footsteps toward it, stringing up an arrow in the bow that she now held in her right hand. she then made sure to pull on the string just so, and approached the source of the scuffling noise… [615] Skill used: Accel Dance Target List: Young Pitted Boar 0 / 7 Pitted Boar 0 / 10 Brier Weasel 0 / 5 Frenmic Rabbit 0 / 8

Said scuffling noise turned out to be a Frenmic Rabbit; and she was reminded of another adventurer who had something just like this, but then knew that this one was one of the wilder ones; therefore it was fair game, and could be hunted down. Seeing that said rabbit was now sniffing at the grass, Han then tensed the string of her bow as far as it would go and then the sudden noise suddenly caused the Frenmic Rabbit to look in her direction and then it bounded off! Ah shit… she thought, quickly stepping up from her crouching position and then giving chase to the Rabbit, putting on a boost of speed thanks to her Accel Dance skill. Now that she had her eyes on the rabbit, she then quickly enchanted the arrow with her first-ever skill and then the wooden arrow took on an electric property. She noticed that it wasn’t sparking as much as it should whenever she used it with her metal weapons, and then sought to rectify this; and then she let the arrow fly from her bow; because if this rabbit got away, then there would be a lot of trouble.
She knew her aim was off, as she kept her eyes on the flight trajectory and was surprised to see that the arrow had managed to hit said Frenmic Rabbit…on its rear end. She then slapped a palm to her face, because that looked really disturbing and then she heard said rabbit howling out of pain, since the electric property of the projectile had caught it off-guard. Seeing that it was now somewhat…limping, she then decided to string up another arrow into her bow; before quickly letting it loose, this time it was just a normal arrow; since she knew that it would be even more painful (and ugly) if all of the rabbit meat she’d give them butchers was unusable. After the arrow flew straight at the Frenmic Rabbit, it let out another cry, before exploding into pixels; and then she saw her Quest indicator flash. She knew that her ‘kill count’ had gone up by one; and now she continued looking around for more rabbits; since they were apparently the ‘easiest’ of the bunch to kill and pick off.
Better get them out of the way before going for the Boars… she thought as she continued through the area, keeping a sharp eye out for more Frenmic Rabbits that would have the misfortune of stumbling across this wandering Assassin, as she realized that she had only gotten one part of the entire thing down. Another scuffling noise caught her attention and she strung up another arrow to the bow; and activated Spark Shot as well; since it apparently inflicted even more damage upon impact; even if the conductor was made of wood, and then took aim right at the same moment the rabbit jumped up. The arrow was then loosed from the bow, and she watched as it whooshed through the space between herself; and another shrieking noise was heard; since the arrow had managed to bury itself in its prey; along with a cloud of release from the electric property, the rabbit was surely half-dead now. She knew that her Hunting gave her additional damage to Beast-class monsters and she sunk another arrow into the shrieking Frenmic, before it exploded into data and her ‘kill count’ went up by another figure.
Oh I get it, that’s why it’s hurting them so much more… she thought, finally seeing that all of the animals she needed to acquire were of the Beast class; and that any Hunter gained bonuses whenever they would hunt more creatures of the specified class. Apparently the shrieking drew out even more Frenmic Rabbits to come out of their holes, and she knew that they were normally docile, but not in this case. She could pick out one, two… three more Frenmic Rabbits now popping out of the grass, drawn in by the sound of the shrieking and as one, they charged right towards the Assassin that had taken out two of their kin! Ah shit here they come… she thought as she quickly strung up arrows, and let them fly towards the incoming Frenmic Rabbits; but what could they do, since they were mostly herbivores and could not attack? She heard more shrieking as the point Rabbit exploded into a shower of crystals; and now there were two remaining and her bow was singing; because several arrows later, the other rabbits were no more; and her Quest counter was now flashing like crazy. She knew that she had to get three more rabbits; so that at least one part of the entire hunting process would be complete; and arrive they did.
Three more Frenmic Rabbits made their presence known, having been drawn as well to the screams of their now-fallen kin; and they were now scenting the air trying to determine what was going on. Seeing that they were trying to locate her, she strung up her bow once more and let the arrows fly. Several arrows shot towards the head of the first rabbit she’d seen; and another buried itself right next to it; because Han was now stringing up her bow as fast as she could spot the rabbits and take them down without causing too much attention. The first rabbit that she’d caught soon exploded into bits of data; and the other two were now wary and the moment they saw the arrows incoming, they knew that they had no chance to fly. Instead, they chose to escape; but even the two running rabbits became one; as one of them let out a shriek before exploding into data and even the last one was caught in a rain of arrows. After the eighth and last rabbit let out a squeal and exploded into nothingness, she then saw that one portion of her quest was now complete, and she then made a move to look for the next targets; taking them out in order of difficulty.

Now that Han had already gotten the easiest part out of the way, she then decided to turn her attention towards the next segment of the entire ordeal; the Young Pitted Boars. She was sorely reminded of their ‘incarnate’ in another game; wherein the only thing that they could squat do was ram into their target and send them either flying, or face-first into the dirt and they dropped only apples, which made things all the funnier and more ironic since she’d seen pictures of roasted pigs with apples sticking out of their mouths. Shaking off the disturbing mental image, she looked at the quiver that she had with her and saw that she was down to approximately half. Drats, I need to change out quivers soon… she thought, remembering that she’d brought along enough quivers of arrows in order to finish this entire mission, but no more than that. I better be careful with my arrow usage now… she continued as she began prowling around a new area; as she needed to look for the Boars and then head them off, before going to the more difficult mobs that she had to take out in order to complete the entire quest.
She then began her trek through the field, seeing that there were novices who were also looking for something easy to beat up, and she decided to put some distance between them; because with her current level, she could fell them with a few arrows if given the chance. She then saw that there were a few, brown-colored lumps wandering around the area and by squinting, she then deduced that they were the Young Pitted Boars that she needed to take out in order to get the quest she’d taken on halfway done. She then activated her Accel Dance skill once more as she moved quickly, yet silently, towards the wandering Young boars that were eating away at another segment of the field (it was a miracle in itself that no matter how many boars spawned, there was always grass) and then began to string up an arrow into the bow so that she could open fire on the unsuspecting animals that were eating away, without a care in the world. she then squinted again, making sure to take careful aim and in the process her tongue stuck out, a quirk of hers when she was focusing on something far away; the arrow then flew from the bow; and then struck the first Young Pitted Boar that she’d aimed at, and it let out a squeal of pain.
The danger of what she was doing was that she was not sure if there were bigger versions of the Pitted Boars wandering around; therefore making this much more difficult and then the other Young Boars scattered, leaving their injured kin behind. Ah shit, really? Abandoning your own kind, make this harder for me why don’t you… she thought with a hiss as she strung up another arrow and then let it loose, before striking the limping Young Boar as it vainly attempted to limp away from the approaching Assassin that now had another arrow strung to the bow that was now aimed at it. She then noticed that unlike the Frenmic Rabbits that went down in just one to two hits, this one was slightly more tenacious-and it took her four arrows to take out the first one that she’d set her sights on. Now that her Young Boar kill count was up by one, she then began her ‘hunt’ once more, looking for more of their brethren to take out without hopefully drawing a bigger target’s ire on them; as she’d heard the rumor of one certain Boar spawn that had tusks twice as long as the usual Pitted Boars, and that it was very aggressive and territorial.
Sooner or later, she found her next targets; there were a couple of Young Boars grazing some distance away; and this time she crouched down in hiding, making sure to hold the bowstring as taut as she could manage without losing her grip. The Young Boars were just grazing on the grass without a care in the world when the arrows started coming. They weren’t as fast; nor as numerous as Han wanted them to come flying from her bowstring; but with some effort, she had managed to snipe down the two she’d caught sight of earlier, and the Quest notification was now flashing at three out of seven; so she needed to look for just four more Young Boars and then she would be done with the entire thing. She then continued her prowl through the area, keeping a sharp eye out for more of the Young version (she’d seen some of the full-grown Pitted Boars wandering around, looking for their young) and she could barely repress a snicker, because she was thinking this: I already picked off your kids. You’ll be next… she thought as she continued looking and sneaking through the area, looking for the remaining Young Boars she needed.
After prowling through the rest of the field, she finally found the rest of her targets; another two Young Boars were now apparently ramming their bodies into a tree, and her line of vision traveled up from the Boars to the tree that they were trying to knock over; and the disturbing mental image she had earlier flashed back into her mind; as they were trying to knock a few apples out of the tree that they were now venting their ‘frustration’ out on. She then chuckled very softly, before stringing up another arrow, and then standing up from her crouched position so that she could take better aim. The two Young Boars were so engrossed with ramming the tree; they never saw what was coming; arrows suddenly appearing from a certain direction. The first Young Boar squealed loudly before she heard the distinct exploding sound that denoted that she’d already shot it to death; and the second one now started looking around, only to be met with an arrow straight to the face.

The remaining Young Boar then made a vain attempt to run away, far away from the tree; but Han was still faster; what with her Marksmanship skill automatically kicking in as she continued to fire off more arrows. She then continued to string up arrows, until she heard the infamous ‘exploding sound’ that was associated with the quarry being taken out-and her Quest notification then flashed once more, notifying her that she only had to look for two more of the Young kind in order to be able to proceed to the next part of her hunting trip. She then continued prowling around the edges of potential ‘feeding areas’ where Young Boars tended to gather; but so far, there were none that were turning up. Sighing, she was hoping that she didn’t have to throw in the towel too early when she heard the squealing. It was some distance away; but the pitch (as well as the squealing that came afterwards) made her absolutely certain that there were two more Young Boars somewhere in her vicinity. She then strung up another arrow into the longbow that she had with her, and approached the two as quietly as she could manage without setting them off.
Sometime later, Han had succeeded in approaching the area without setting off the Young Boars to suddenly run away and then started letting the arrows fly from her longbow. The first one that was grazing away rather lazily let out a squeal as the arrows pierced its backside; and as it made to turn and run the next few arrows that came flying in from her general direction made it explode mid-flight, and that scared the other Young Boar, who was now petrified to the spot, having witnessed such horrible slaughter. As it made to turn and make a mad dash for its life several more arrows coming from the Assassin’s direction ended its short life, and she could only tilt her head as it exploded into bits of data; and set off her Quest notification, alerting her that she was now halfway through the entire thing. Now that she was left with the two hardest of the bunch to deal with; the Weasel and the full-grown Boar, she was now at a crossroads; which creature would she take out next so that she didn’t run into any problems? She then sat herself down on a stump in order to be able to pick out which mob to take care of next and saw that her quiver of arrows was almost empty!
Hissing, she then opened her inventory and then dropped out anther quiver, before emptying the current one she had with her (it had less than ten arrows left anyway) and merged the remaining arrows into the new quiver that she slung over her shoulder—and drew the bowstring once again as she loaded up an arrow and then stood up, ready to take out the Brier Weasels. She was also wondering why they were asking for only five of the creatures, whereas for the others the demand was slightly more than normal. Is it because of exotic-tasting meat not being well-received in the market? Ah, whatever, I’ll find out once I get this entire thing done and over with, she thought as she then began travelling to the very edge of the plains; because the Brier Weasels had a tendency to appear much closer to the forest area than in a wide-open space. Wondering if they were going to appear at all today, she then decided to take the extra precaution of using her Spark Shot whenever she’d run into one of the weasels; because she remembered that their tails were some sort of plant-like creature as well; and that they could suddenly just…lash out at whoever dared attacking them.
Now that she was holding a ‘loaded’ projectile within the bow (and was secretly thankful that wood didn’t conduct electricity as well as metal did) she then continued her hunt; when she heard a skittering, then scuttling noise from somewhere to her right side. She then turned her body in that direction and the noise became much louder; before a shadow sprang out of the brush she was eyeing suspiciously, headed right at her! Ah shit, it’s charging! She thought, quickly releasing the charged-up projectile and then scoring a direct hit on its stomach; it then let out a squeal of pain, before whipping around and then delivering what looked like a Tail Whip attack (wrong game, stupid) and then several tentacle-like appendages shot out from the point of impact, forcing her to step back! “Agh!” she hissed, the first words she’d ever actually muttered ever since the entire hunting spree began and it then skidded off to one side, before rushing back again right at her. Same tactics as the Frenmic, only more erratic… batter be careful… she thought as she strung up another arrow and then let it loose just as the Weasel took another running start, before leaping up and attempting to slash at her with its claws.
Seeing that her target was now airborne, Han then let the arrows fly and after several more shots, the Weasel exploded in mid-air; a sign that she’d gotten one of them out of the way. She had no idea just how she was going to deliver all the meat, until she checked her Quest window once again and saw that it would be automatically delivered once the entire thing was over. Ah good, she thought as more scuffling noises came headed her way; did she attract the ire of the Weasel’s brethren…? Apparently, she did and there were two more of the wily creatures headed her way; the first one had decided to take a leap and attempted to slash at her with its claws; while the other was setting up for a whipping attack courtesy of its weird tail. The airborne one she managed to shoot out of the air with a scream, and it landed right next to its fellow and then the two began moving as one; since from the looks of things they shared a ‘kinship’. Several more arrows ended the first Weasel’s life though, and that left the other one still headed her way.

The remaining Weasel was now charging right at her and had its claws out, ready to strike against her; when another arrow she’d loosed from her longbow cut it off in its path. Seeing that this Weasel was now staggering, she then drew another arrow into the bow, but decided to give it an extra kick as well; and then activated her Spark Shot skill as well so that there would be extra damage once the arrow managed to find its target; the charging Weasel. As it jumped up and whipped around in order to deliver another ‘Tail Whip’ attack in her direction, she then backpedaled and let the charged arrow fly, catching the Weasel at a point just below where the tail was connected to its body; in short, she’d shot the poor thing right through its ass, and she was looking away out of disgust as the Weasel fell to the ground, shrieking in pain. Better end it before it gets too disgusting… she thought as she quickly slung more arrows into her bow, and after a few more rounds, the Weasel exploded into bits of data, before vanishing completely. She now needed just two more before proceeding to the most difficult part of the entire quest... ten full-grown, ugly, charging Pitted Boars.
But where were the remaining Weasels she needed to hunt?
Han then continued to prowl along the edge of the plains near the forest area; without much success. Maybe her hunting had scared off other Weasels from emerging (or otherwise spawning) entirely? She then decided to crouch down again on the ground and wait; maybe if she hid herself for some bit, then they would start coming out once again. She then laid herself almost flat on the ground, relaxing the grip she had on the bow; her fingers were getting tensed up at that point and she decided to flex and unflex them, in order to allow for some breathing room. As she lay there, waiting for the Weasels to approach, several thoughts began to bother her, it was mostly between the two individuals that she’d been going out on hunts with lately; one was the fox-tail, the other was the fellow Assassin just like her. Gah, if I had to make a choice… who? I don’t want them to end up killing each other… she thought sullenly as she kept her ears alert for any rustling, scuffling noise that would emerge from the edges of the wood.
She lay in that position for what felt like almost fifteen minutes when noises emerged from the area closest to where she was; and she risked a look by slowly raising her head (and being careful so that she was not seen) she saw that there were two more Weasels that were sticking their heads out of the grass, sniffing the air hopefully, before darting out of the undergrowth and emerging perfect, just perfect, she thought with a grin as she quietly strung another arrow to her bow and then slowly moved her arms so that it was pointing at an angle when she released the projectile. Whatever, I’m getting up… she thought as she struggled to stand up; finally managing to get up on wobbly feet the two Weasels then noticed her and sprang into action! What is it with them going all irate on me anyway?! She thought as she quickly let the arrow fly towards the first one that had seemingly taken the ‘point’ position and was now leaping in for an attack!
The arrow cut it off from its attack, though, and was now reeling in pain on the ground and the other Weasel then swung its tail around; as if imitating what its fallen brethren had done, and Han backpedaled a few more steps before letting loose another arrow. She was sorely tempted to string up two arrows so that she could take them out much quicker; however the first one was now recovering and she then let her bow do the talking as arrow after arrow pelted the two Weasels; and soon after, they exploded, one after another, and now she was almost done with the entire quest! Now she needed to look for the Pitted Boars; and these were the toughest of the bunch; but also unfortunately the most numerous since she needed to take out ten of heir number. The good thing about this was that there were quite a number of the Boars roaming around the field; so she made her way back to where she’d originally started and kept a lookout for anything that had decided to come wandering her way, as if asking for their death wish.
She then noticed that there were a couple of Pitted Boars grazing in the distance and that there was a tree near where they were. It was as if a scene she’d seen earlier was playing out once again; these two full-grown Boars were apparently gouging and ramming the tree; as if trying to get something to fall out. She then picked up the pace and approached very slowly and saw, to her chagrin, that it was another apple tree. Why they love apples I will never know… she thought as she loaded up her longbow once again with an arrow, and then poised to let it fly if they took notice of her. Maybe it would be best if I bait them first… she thought as she let the arrow fly in their direction and it then wedged itself into the base of the tree; and that alerted the two to her presence. One of the two stayed behind and continued to gore at the tree…while the other one suddenly charged in her direction, putting on a burst of speed so surprising she was frozen in her tracks.
Move, damn it, move! She thought as she quickly backpedaled as fast as she could manage, and then let an arrow fly from her bow, headed straight towards the Boar that was now engaged in battle with her. Ah crap what did I just do… she thought as she started to fire off arrows in succession; loading them up one after the other, yet the Boar showed almost no sign of slowing down; what was wrong with the creature anyway?! She then dived out of the way as it came in for a tusk-goring attack; yet her foot had gotten caught at the last-second evasion attempt that she’d tried. “Ah, crap,” she said once more, hissing as she quickly rolled off to one side and came up to a kneeling position and fired off another arrow, straight to the Boar’s face.

This time, the bowstring rang out with a twanging sound so loud; it seemed that it was in danger of breaking due to overuse. Hoping that this was not the case, she then rolled off to one side; just as the Boar came racing up to her and then loaded another arrow, this time enchanting it with her Spark Shot ability. Han knew that if she kept on firing normal arrows, she’d run out before completing all ten Boars, so she needed to throw some variety into the mix as well! The slight catch here was that there was a charging time every moment she used Spark Shot, so she knew she had to rewrite this strategy to work from afar; and then shifting to normal arrows whenever her quarry came up close. Once she let the charged arrow fly, she continued to backpedal, firing off as many arrows as she could manage and after what felt like the tenth arrow, the Boar finally let out a squeal of disgust, before exploding into bits of data and disappearing from the landscape. She then saw that her Quest notification was flashing and realized that she had a long road ahead of her; as she had only managed to eradicate one out of the ten that she needed.
She then remembered that there was another Boar at the apple tree that she’d scampered away from, so now she made her way back towards where this Boa was, still vainly trying to get the fruit out of the tree and it was also waiting for its brethren to return. Seeing that this one was too engrossed in ramming the tree so that its precious cargo fell down, Han decided to let loose with several more instances of ‘charged arrows’, so that she could at least snipe this one without too much interference. She then began charging up her Spark shot ability each time she fired off an arrow; not realizing that it would take up mana as she did so and was about to let loose the final arrow when she saw that her mana pool was dangerously low. Ah snap, I didn’t know that these things costed that much! She thought as she released the final arrow; and the second Boar she’d seen met its ugly death at the hands of whoever was aiming arrows at it because it had been so engrossed in the tree, it didn’t notice that it was already under attack.
She also realized that this was going to be a problem; for there was no known mana potion that existed as of yet in the world; and she was not sure if travelling around for a bit would regenerate that depleted stock, and she sighed, before finally deciding to approach the tree where she’d picked off the second boar. She then saw that there were some apples that had fallen; yet they were green and not yet red and she chuckled. More for me… she thought as she quickly picked up the fallen fruit and dropped them into her Inventory, yet leaving one to munch on as she continued her search and hunt for the remaining eight Boars that she needed in order to be able to complete the entire quest so that she could rest for the day. She then decided to walk in a circular fashion with the ‘apple’ tree as he center, hoping to see that there would be more Boars that would cross her path and end up eating her arrows in the process. For some time, she was without success-because she mostly encountered the younger version of the Boars that she needed, but after approximately forty-five minutes her luck began to turn for the better.
There was a herd of approximately five full-grown Boars grazing not too far from where she currently stood, downhill from the apple tree. Said apple she was eating was half-gone by now; and there was yet another problem that she was facing: she was just one, and there were five of them. What would happen if she were to engage all five in a ranged battle and all of them came in charging at the same time? Chaos, that’s what… she thought, quickly making her way over to a rock that shielded her from view of the five Boars that were just eating their way through the meadow, moving on once all the grass in a certain area was gone. Well, pick them off one by one then, if tanking isn’t the solution… because you’d end up dead if you tanked them all at the same time! She thought, mentally slapping herself for thinking such crazy thoughts. Taking a deep breath, she then silently slung an arrow into the bow that she was using, and then took careful aim at the nearest Boar that she could eradicate without drawing their attention.
She then let the arrow fly and a few moments later, a squeal erupted from the Boar that she’d managed to snipe with the arrow; and its four companions looked at it, wondering just what was going on. Deciding that it was nothing too bothersome, the Boars then shrugged, shook their heads, and continued grazing. Han was also observing the herd’s reaction by peeking out from the side of said rock and seeing that its initial squeal had been written off as ‘a disturbance’. Perfect, she thought with a grin as she quickly loaded up another arrow and then sent it towards another Boar; she was trying to see if they would all end up fighting each other so that she didn’t have to waste so many arrows on the entire pack. Another squeal arose from the herd, but it was brushed off once again—and this time, Han decided to continue firing at the two Boars that now had an arrow sticking out of their rumps respectively (apparently grazing for grass made them stupid enough to disregard everything else) who else knew how they would react if they were hungry.
Several more arrows came whistling from her direction and the two Boars she was alternately targeting kept on squealing, yet their companions didn’t even seem to notice the disturbance. What made them look up, however, was the exploding noise, first one Boar, and then the other; and then the remaining three started looking at each other suspiciously... why had their two brethren suddenly disappeared? Only one of them caught an idea of where the arrows were coming from; it suddenly turned tail and then began charging towards the rock where she was hiding! Ah hell, no time for it, time to expose myself… she thought as she quickly stood up and then let the arrows fly from her bow. One after another, they sailed towards the incoming Boar; but before it could reach her, it let out a grunt, and a final high-pitched squeal, before disappearing and exploding into data bits. The other two then finally realized what was going on and abandoning their initial ‘grazing’, decided to charge together as one towards the Elven Assassin that was now screeching; and then turned tail before dashing off in the opposite direction; for there were now two very mad, very full, extremely angry Pitted Boars that were now chasing her!
At least I managed to pick off five… I just need to get five more before turning this entire thing in and finding out just why they need this kind of meat… she thought as she scrambled over rocks and past trees; she could still hear the mad huffing and puffing, breathing issuing from the two Boars that were now threatening her with their own lives for killing off three of their comrades-in-arms! Ah shit what the hell, it’s just the two of them; I can bloody take them on! She thought as she quickly strung up an arrow, then came to an abrupt stop and then suddenly let the arrow loose from her bow; and then after that was done, turned around as quickly as she could manage and continued running, slinging an arrow into her bowstring while she was at it. She heard the squeal from one of the two Boars that was still chasing her, a sign that she had actually hit at least one of them; but that also meant that they were going to be chasing her for a long time as the Boars went on full aggro whenever threatened, and would not stop until whatever had targeted them was sent out of their territory.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Han then decided that her earlier strategy of taking out the Boars (even if it was just so cumbersome) was working, so at certain intervals she would stop, and turn and fire off an arrow; alternating between each of the two remaining Boars that was now chasing her. If I get these two down, that’s seven, and I only have to deal with three more and I’m home free! She thought as she slotted another arrow in her bow; did an abrupt stop, and then let loose with the arrow towards the two that were chasing her like quarry. She knew that this strategy was taking much longer than normal to pick off the Boars, but at least she was denting their Health bars slowly but surely; and since she’d been running for quite some time she didn’t notice that there were potholes scattered here and there about the field as well! She then felt something weird as her footing shifted; and she pitched too far forward before finally coming to a crash in the dirt; coughing and gasping for air. Ack, too much running… not enough resting… she thought with a grimace as she quickly rolled herself over and tried to stand up; only to realize that her footing was slightly wobblier as it was compared to earlier.
Ah shit, I think I twisted it… she thought; seeing that the two Boars were definitely much closer than she wanted them to be; and without thinking, fired off the arrow while trying to pull herself out and away from the danger that was definitely barreling her way! She then heard a squeal; before quickly stringing up another arrow and then letting loose at the ‘point’ Boar, which squealed in pain as the arrow struck full-on in the face; and another arrow came sailing towards it soon after; and it was consequently slowed down; Han had managed to pull herself further, by backpedaling and firing off arrows at the same time and after what felt like an eternity, the Boar finally exploded; leaving her with the remaining of the original five that she’d started hunting. Now that it was alone, it stopped running, and began looking around, as if trying to find its fallen companions; all of them were just ‘figures’ now; at least according to Han’s Quest counter. Seeing that it was going to make a break for it, Han quickly strung up her bow with an arrow and began letting them loose at the retreating Boar’s form; striking its rump and backside several times; before hearing it grunt and squeal out of annoyance and another arrow finally silenced the annoying grunts of pain and she looked away as it exploded into bits of nothingness; now that her ‘kill count’ was up to seven, she decided to look for a tree to roost in so that she would not have too much difficulty picking off the last three she needed.
Ouch, ouch, damn it, stupid potholes in the field… she thought as she limped as best as she could away from the scene of the crime; even if she was stuck in the Game, the pain certainly felt so real—and she knew she had to end this quick, otherwise she’d end up being food for whoever else was out at the fields at the time! After limping through the area and seeing no Boars in sight, she finally came across another tree. It certainly was not the apple one she’d left some time ago; and decided to climb it and roost there for a while, so that she could assess the damage that she’d taken so far. After struggling to climb the tree with some difficulty (blame the twisted ankle) she then found a squat branch that was sturdy enough to hold her frame, and parked herself there; taking a look at the ground below, hoping that some crazy Boar would come wandering into range. Ahhh, that feels so much better. No pressure on my foot for now. May as well wait here until I feel better… she thought as she strung up her bow again and left it at the ready, just in case a target decided to make an untimely appearance.
She then waited this way for around half an hour (but to her it felt longer) when she saw a Boar finally wandering underneath the tree and then, suddenly, the tree shook like mad. Wha?! What’s going on?! She thought, bracing herself as the Boar was assaulting the tree, as if looking for something to fall down; were they that smart to figure out if someone was hiding in a tree, when she heard the branches rustle and a pear fell down and hit the Boar on its head. Serves you right, you jerk, she thought as she began rubbing the back side of her head and took careful aim; just as the Boar began eating the fallen pears that had rained down around it. The arrow then whistled through the air, ad it let out a squeal as the back side of its neck got struck by the arrow’s point; and looked around; as if trying to see what was bothering it. Seeing that there was nothing else, it then returned to eating the pears, when Han continued to let arrows rain down upon it, at intervals, of course; and after the seventh arrow, the Boar then looked up and saw that there was another arrow headed right for its eye. It was about to slam against the tree again when the arrow that had struck its face hit home; and another exploding sound echoed throughout the area; she now only needed two to turn in for the day!
Thank the gods for their stupidity… she thought as she breathed a sigh of relief and looked up; there was a pear that as dangling close to her position. She then reached up with her left hand and plucked it, before biting into it; she needed to have enough energy to snipe the last two Boars out of the tree and then turn the Quest in for the day. Seeing that there were two more Boars that were headed towards the surplus of the fallen pears, she then decided to end this all in one go; and quickly strung up her bow and waited for the two to wander close enough so that they could go down and be placed out of their misery. Seeing that the second one was rather hesitant, she decided to take that one out first; and while keeping a bite-hold on the pear she was eating, began sniping the two Boars slowly; but surely. This in turn caused the two Boars to look around for the source of the falling arrows, but seeing as they were just that dumb (especially when they were hungry) they continued to eat the fallen fruit.
Hunger makes them stupid. Works for me… she thought as she continued to unleash arrows on the two Boars, while keeping an eye on their Health bars. She then reached back towards her quiver and saw that she had run out of arrows! Oh well, better reload… she thought as she navigated with some difficulty; and managed to drop another Quiver of arrows out of her Inventory, and slung it over her right shoulder. The rain of arrows continued; and after another forty-five minutes, the two remaining Boars she needed were finally dead; and her Quest was now flashing as ‘Complete’! Breathing a sigh of relief, she then dropped her weapon into her Inventory and then proceeded to drop down and out of the tree, relieved that she was now done with the entire ordeal. She then decided to walk back to the city and turn in the Quest—and to get to the bottom of why they wanted so much meat! Ah yes, finally! She thought, stretching out her arms while dragging her left leg behind her as she went to the Quest board and turned the quest in.
