It's every shameful fall, every mistake that I've made
「Okay, lets do this.」
Pwyll and his brother Arawnn had only just arrived in Elder Tale. Having gotten rid of the shakes, he was ready to distract himself with a bit of combat. Something that would probably be the fastest way to teach him how to move his body. Dashing towards the gate straight away, Pwyll made a rather spectacular fall as he tripped over his own feet. It was to be expected since his avatar was taller than his real body. His hair was also longer, so he couldn't help but feel a thrill at being in a body that was different from his own. Standing up, he looked for a reflective surface and found that his hair was long, tied to one side over his shoulder, he was taller, and he looked more manly. Still feminine, but manly compared to his real body. Focusing on one spot for a while, he suddenly saw the menu pop up and began fiddling around. Looking through everything, he found his inventory and equipment. He had cheap starter gear for everything, but he at least got to pick the color scheme of it all.
「Leif! Let's go, already! I mean, Arawnn.」 Giving a little chuckle, he realized his voice was still a bit feminine, but seemed quite androgynous. Not bothering to equip his armor for now, he equipped his two weapons, katana onto his right side hip and long sword onto his waist at the back with the grip facing the right. The time of day was probably around midnight. It was around dusk when they logged in, so they must have been out cold and confused for quite some time. Not particularly waiting for his brother, Pwyll rushed towards the city entrance, leaving through the gate and looking for something to attack. Confirming he was outside of the no combat zone, he drew his katana with his left hand and long sword with his right hand. Getting a feel for drawing his weapons, he felt it was a bit off and reconfigured it so that his katana was on his waist, grip facing left and long sword on the left hip. He felt more comfortable holding the katana in the left hand with a reverse grip. Sheathing his katana for now, he kept the black long sword in his right hand as he continued walking. Up ahead, he spotted a slime.

Arawnn slowly wandered after his brother, who was tripping over himself constantly as he ran towards the gate. As he walked he couldn’t help but admire his own looks, after all it was strange suddenly being a cat. I mean look, he has ears now. As if to prove this, he wiggled his cat ears, and then practiced moving them into several positions. If one looked at him, it would seem to be a short werecat whose ears seemed to dance to silent music. His ears stopped when Pwyll turned back towards him and practically yelled at him to hurry up. Always in a rush, guess that was his brother. However the man that stood before him only had the facial and voice resemblance of his brother, but then he realized that only his voice was similar to his real life persona. He started jogging to catch up to his brother, and for someone who’s body was such a large size difference than his real life size, he was surprisingly balanced. After all, it was quite easy to get used to your height when all your new body was just a scaled down version of yourself.
Once he caught up he checked his own equipment as well. Cloth armor, odd choice for someone who could wear rougher, but it was more fancy than what looked like rogue armor. Arawnn was far from a rogue, he was a well educated, and well spoken man. “Alright, alright. But please, if it makes it easier, call me as you normally would.” He kept browsing his menus and pulled out his violin. He checked it’s size, and noticed that it was perfect for him. Playing a couple of notes, he discovered that it was also perfectly tuned; and with how often he played in the real world, it wouldn’t be perfectly tuned for long. Especially since he was a bard, and they were going to kill some poor, nearly defenseless critters so early. They were nearly defenseless because he knew what his only ability did, and that was slow them to a literal crawl. Once his brother continued walking, after equipping all of the gear he had started with, he continued directly behind him. Occasionally he would play a couple of tunes on his violin, but stopped when he saw the slime, the same one his brother had seen.
Now it was time to try out his only skill. He opened his skill menu walked towards the slime. “Let me start this.” His violin took it’s place and he closed his eyes before sighing. Quickly tapping the button to activate the skill, his arm moved and a song immediately burst from his violin. The tune was rather slow, and was quieter than it normally would be. Seeming to hear the music, the slime seemed to hear his tune and moved to investigate. Since mana usage, and spellcasting was involved, the slime had become interested in this strange cat-person, before becoming engulfed in a spinning partical effect when it came within range for the song. The moment the partical effect surrounded the slime, he began playing it louder and louder, causing another swirl to engulf the poor slime, removing more of it’s health, and more of Arawnn’s mana pool. Arawnn would have noticed his own mana going down, if he wasn’t concentrating on the tune he was playing. Perhaps he could use this tune as a lullaby without the skill on normal people, maybe not. Once his brother was done with what they were here to do, perhaps he would go to a tavern and try it out. His eyes opened, and he watched what Pwyll was doing, while not missing a single beat in his performance.
Words: 622 Health: 100% Mana: 80% (2 uses of Ballad of the Gullible Snail) Extra: Sime is at 84% Life (8% life damage each hit of the curse song.) If you don't like my post, I can change it. So let me know.

It's every shameful fall, every mistake that I've made
「Nice tune, Arawnn. Probably best we hide our real names while in game.」 Having said this, Yuu closed his eyes and focused on the beat. Opening his eyes again with his head bobbing to the music, he watched the slime take some damage. It wasn't much but for a level one bard, he supposed that was to be expected. Checking his menu, he looked at his own skill and tried to remember how it worked. Looking at the description, he visualized it in his head for a moment on how it worked, and then spoke the name allowed with his eyes closed, thinking on it. With that visualization and command spoken, he clapped his hands together like it said and opened his eyes to see his katana sliding out of its scabbard. It hovered with the grip skyward, awaiting orders. 「Attack Target - Slime.」 With the verbal commands issued, it looked for a moment as if it wobbled in confirmation of the order, zooming off to the target and immediately striking the target. Staying close to his weapon, Yuu went on the other side of the slime so as to not get in the way of Ante Up but still between hi brother and the enemy. Since Arawnn was playing the support, he would serve as tank and damage dealer.
Watching his mana, he found that he was at about 80% now after using Ante Up for this long. His health had gone down a tiny bit since the slime had directed its attacks at him, maybe about 90% now. The slime, on the other hand, was reaching 20% hit points. It wouldn't be too much longer with the slashing he was doing. Canceling Ante Up and grabbing the sword out of the air, Pwyll continued attacking with both swords, left hand katana reverse gripped, to get a feel for dual wielding. Delivering a few slashes with both swords, the health on the slime dropped to 5%. He had a fair idea on how this worked now. Delivering the final blow, Pwyll sheathed both swords and turned to his brother. 「I know we're trapped here and everything but... This is fun. Wanna keep going at this for now? Get a better feel for things. I wanna hear more of your music as well. You haven't played for a while, since we started getting into games.」 With that and a carefree smile, he manipulated his menu. He had a fair idea what it was like to move his body, now to get use to armor.
It was only at this point that he noticed his pointy ears sticking up on his head and his single tail wagging vigorously behind him. Before equipping his armor, he looked behind him to watch his tail, practicing how to move it with a somewhat happy face. He did the same for his own ears to see how they reacted, and then tried to get them to sit flat on his head, blending in with his hair. Seemed to work well enough. Following this, he got curious about something. Bringing his tail in front of him, he stroked his fluffy thing to experience what it was like to have extra senses attached to his body, and also pinched his ears as well. He sure could feel them, but the tail was the more surreal one. Tugging on it, he felt his body go slightly weak from the sensation and his face showed a similar expression. Moving on, he equipped his armor and tried to get use to such a narrow vision. It wasn't particularly hard, but he would need to practice.

Arawnn nodded at his brothers words. However in his mind he completely disagreed. His name in game, Arawnn, meant he would probably be nicknamed Ara. Ara sounded extremely feminine, and knowing this he would ask everyone to call him Leif; not that he would let them know that was his real name after all. It wasn’t long before he saw a Katana fly forward and start swinging wildly at the slime. Impressive, Arawnn thought, as his brother joined his pet ‘Katana’ before chuckling to himself. A pet weapon, an ability befitting his sibling. Arawnn kept playing the tune, and his mana kept depleting. He even kept playing it after the monster was dead, as he needed to know how the song ended. Sighing as he heard the final note, he let his violin down to his side and sighed. His brother was right, despite them being trapped here, it was rather fun. Especially since he was finally able to play music on his own free time, that is, he got plenty of time in the real world that his brother had no clue about. He smiled as his brother said that he wanted to hear more of his music. “Really, now that is quite a surprise.” He bowed, holding the violin behind him with his left hand and holding the bow in his right hand. “Then I shall play a quick tune while you prepare yourself.” After all, there was nothing much he needed to do other than practice his own version of combat, musical warfare. He pulled out his violin and prepared while opening a single eye to see his brother’s reaction. He was quite enthralled with his ears and tail, causing Arawnn to laugh before finally starting. He played a tune that he himself knew from the real world, as one of his friends from school was obsessed with this game called Touhou. Sadly, he never played it, but he did enjoy it’s music, and thus he began the tune from Lullaby of a Deserted Hell. If his brother asked him to stop so they could move on, he would halt halfway, nod, and then follow. The song he played was rather calming, and seemed not fit for battle, but nonetheless he played. As the song went on, Arawnn looked entirely entrapped by the song, even moving his body to the beat. If he was allowed to finish the short tune, he would bow before following his brother to the next area. Words: 412 Health: 100% (Unscathed) Mana: 60% (2 more uses of Ballad of the Gullible Snail, one before it dies, and then one as it dies.) Extra: Lullaby of Deserted Hell (Violin and Piano) Only played the violin parts. Feel free to continue on to find more enemies. Since we are trying to match levels, I'll attempt to match word count. So far we are 1034 (Arawnn) to 1003 (Pwyll).

It's every shameful fall, every mistake that I've made
Jumping up and down, Yuu could definitely feel the difference of wearing armor, especially in the vision he had. Hearing his brother start playing another tune, he stopped what he was doing and listened. It sounded familiar. If he remembered correctly... 「That piece, it's from another game, isn't it? I don't remember the soundtrack too well, but I played the series. Its an old classic game from my country of origin.」 Listening until the piece ended, Yuu gave a metallic clap with his armored hands as he gave a thumbs up before moving onward. Looking around, he found a boar that looked like it would be a good target. Focusing on it, he waited for the level to display, finding that it was also level one. The perfect opponent for now. Quickly re-configuring his weapon setup again so that his katana wasn't on his back but on his back going from the right shoulder to the left hip, he had the grip facing down. As with all katana's, there was a gripping part closest to the guard on the blade to lock it into the scabbard to prevent it sliding out. If it was possible, he wanted to have more weapons to be loaded on his body so he could pick and choose, but he wasn't sure it was possible. Drawing his long sword, he charged ahead at the boar to deliver the first strike and direct its hate at himself to protect his brother who was playing support. Also of note is that the brothers sent and accepted a party invitation when they first met up with each other.
Delivering a fast slash that was somewhat lacking on damage, he was already prepared to do a second slash as he let it loose, jumping backwards to avoid any attack that may come. He had no idea how to deal with this enemy type, so now was his time to study up and put his memory to good use. 「Hey, God of the Underworld, Do you remember that story game I use to be playing whenever you came home? The famous one with a long series of games. We learned how to play the battle theme. Use that song, it should be perfect.」 Referring to his brother's IGN as the myth's title, he kept his guard up and eye on the boar. It looked like it was just gonna stand there when it suddenly charged at him. Being too close, Yuu was a bit late in realizing and was knocked back as he watched his HUD display his HP drop. It looked like about 7% had been lost. Without the armor, it probably would have been worse. Learning from this, Yuu began releasing as many cuts as possible to the boar, and backing off before getting bunted, then opening enough distance so that he could dodge a charge. Alongside his brother's support, he finished off the boar and checked his remaining HP. About 78%. 「Good work. I'm starting to get the hang of this now. You?」

“God of the Underworld?” Arawnn put a thumb on his chin as he realized that his brother was mentioning his in game name. “So, that’s why you had me name myself Arawnn.” He smiled slightly, after all he had no clue what to name himself, and Arawnn was a pretty unique name. He kept thinking, and seemed to daze off before he heard the boar squeal as his brother landed a blow. “Right!” He reminded himself as he pulled out his violin again and prepared to play a song. His brother requested him to play that battle theme from Final Fantasy 13, but Arawnn decided against it. That song was reserved for a special occasion. Instead, he played Yukiko’s theme from Persona 4 Arena, a game which was alike Touhou, which he had seen played, but only heard the music. He decided that it was the perfect pacing for Balla of the Gullible Snail, and began playing it. The familiar ring surrounded the boar, doing slight damage and applying a large slow debuff on it. If it hadn’t been so slow, Pwyll might have taken more damage than he had recieved by the end. His brother looked as though he already had the hang of using his weapons. There really wasn’t much to swinging a sword at mindless animals, they didn’t know how to move out of they way of a blade and couldn’t even fathom the sharpness or cutting power of shiny objects, but he could say that his brother had as much grace swinging a sword as if an elephant had tried tap dancing. It wasn’t remarkable, but it was definitely effective. Then his brother spoke up and mentioned the exact thing that was coursing through Arawnn’s mind. “It’s not much different than real life.” He spoke up, “However, I must apologize for not using the actual song you had wanted, I am saving that song for a special moment.” He smiled and bowed before continueing. “Pwyll, as I am guessing you want me to call you, should meet me at the Twin Wolf Hall.” He ended his bow and smiled at Pwyll. “It’s a tavern inside of London. I may or may not have... well..” His expression stopped from a smile to slight embarrassment. Only his brother knew of his cleaning habits, and this would probably sound strange, even to him. “I sort of... maybe kinda... told them I would help clean up around the bar later today.” He sighed now that the weight was finally off of his chest. He glanced up towards the sky, just to see how late it had become. Luckily for him, it was barely past lunch. Hopefully he would get some ahead time at the Twin Wolf Hall. His reasons for visiting the establishment were due to sheer boredom. After all, he knew his brother wouldn’t be fine with being a more casual adventurer. Last thing he would do was sit inside town making life easier for the people of the land, and instead would probably rush out to pillage the monsters. Oh well, he thought, expecting his brother’s reaction to his plan. Words: 522 Health: 100% Mana: 50% (Three uses during the entire battle) Extra: Yukiko's Theme was the song he played for Ballad of the Gullible Snail. It'll be the only song he really plays for it. Also, feel free if you want to continue, it's barely after lunch IG, and he doesn't need to be at the tavern till night. Apologies for taking so long.

It's every shameful fall, every mistake that I've made
Sliding his long sword back into its scabbard, he put both weapons back into his inventory and contemplated whether or not to remove his armor for now, or to keep it on until they were, or he was, alone in a room. Thinking about it for a few moments, he decided to remove his armor. If he was to keep it on, then he wouldn't be talking to people. Opening his inventory and equipment windows on his HUD, he removed the armor and placed them in his inventory, leaving him with his dark-themed tunic equipped which appears to be more of what they call a 'vanity' equipment. It was still starter gear, so the only thing he had control over was the color scheme. He would eventually find a tailor to make something more to his tastes. His clothing in real life looked rather feminine, but he didn't mind anymore. They were comfortable on his delicate real skin. Though he actually put into a waitress outfit for work when he first started because they had confused his gender, as usual. He did his training like that, then finally changed to the waiter's outfit. Would he end up doing something similar here such as being a waiter? Who knows. 「Arawnn, the God of the Welsh Underworld, Annwn. In contrast, Pwyll was a King who, after some circumstances, became best friends with Arawnn. After playing a game based on these characters, among others, I looked up the story.」
Stretching his body, he slapped his cheeks lightly, feeling the sensation through his skin and once again confirming how real this was. Hearing what his brother had done, Yuu couldn't help but sigh, followed by a light giggle and smile. He was use to giggling instead of chuckling, simply because that was how his voice made it turn out. Giving his brother one of those "What am I going to do with you, but I still care for you" looks, Yuu patted Leif on the back as he began walking back to town. 「Come on, lets go find a drink. Or at least a place to stay for the night. Who knows, maybe that habit of yours will do us a favor this time.」 Tossing some sarcasm into that last part, Pwyll began walking on back. They hadn't traveled too far from the city of Londenium so it wouldn't take too long to get back. Although he had fared well in battle, he was back to stumbling over his own height again. At least this time he wasn't falling on his face. Petting his own ears, he began flattening them down, blending them in with his hair, and using the fox tail ability to cloak his tail. He would do the same with his ears, but they felt comfortable. 「I think... I'm gonna become a solo player. Hide inside my armor. A sort of new years resolution, if you will. I want people to see me as a strong, dependable man. Be the silent type and travel alone, most likely.」

Arawnn used his menu to place his violin back where it would not cause him grief, his inventory. As the violin vanished, he heard his brother giggle. Had he really always giggled? Nevermind that, did he just say that Arawnn was the Welsh god of the Underworld? Great, a name I’ll never live up to. He almost rolled his eyes, but he realized that would have signalled his brother that he was thinking about his name. Leif, in the real world, was not known for taking names of high-born characters from any mythos, nor video games. Guess he would have to live with it. This went through his mind before he realized his brother had unequipped his armor. I guess where we were going, we didn’t really need armor, now did we? He unequipped his own armor and realized that he didn’t really have any undergarments, except for what looked like form-fitting shorts. It was only for a split second, but he quickly put his armor back on. “Yeah no.” Thankfully he had done this as his brother had started walking back to town, and could only hope that he had not seen.
Arawnn slightly jogged to catch up with Pwyll, and it took him longer than normal. Yeesh, being scaled down to this height felt so strange. One step took much, much longer than what he was used to. Finally catching up he heard what his brother was saying. “Solo player? You really don’t mean you would forsake your time with others?” He shook his head. “We’ll need to talk about this later, perhaps once you get to the tavern I’ll take some time off.” He looked at his brother, probably straight in the eyes, and his face was entirely serious. The last thing he wanted was his Brother to wander around alone. Since he was always helping others, he knew what it was like to only give and not receive, and it was not fun. If he could, he would definitely scold his brother for even having such thoughts as solo play. After all, those who went solo typically lagged behind and were actually looked down upon by those who partied all the time. Upon finally reaching the gate, Arawnn waved to Pwyll and bolted off to get to the Twin Wolf Hall as fast as he could. He had to get working. After all, one who cleans is not the one who wears armor, and he was certain that the Lander who owned the Twin Wolf Hall would have a uniform for him to wear. He smiled as he ran, thinking of who he would meet while working for the people of the land.
