"Can't hit what you can't see!"
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Wondering if it was actually possible to get all the nine map pieces together; Han decided to go on another Scouting mission; seeing the sudden spike of people doing Crafting missions in the area was not very surprising, considering the new items that were coming out; some people were even lucky to get their own Crafting class pieces (but she had not yet gotten that lucky) and make better stuff. Shelving her disappointment, she then contacted one of the people on her Friends list; and hoped that it wasn’t going to be too awkward when they actually showed up after a long time; Urrrrgh I hope he gets the message… she thought as she began pacing around the Sarum Base Camp, already holding two mapping paraphernalia in her free hands, the ‘special’ paper and marking pen. I hope he gets here so that I can smooth things over… she continued to herself as she kept an eye out on her peripheral vision; that’s where her ‘Friends’ window was open; but she wasn’t looking for the redhead; she was looking for familiar company, and she knew she’d find that in Kumori… Ryuu’s presence.
Agh, I don’t know what to do. Should I choose? Or should I just let things brew for a while then make a choice once I’ve seen the best and worst of the both of them? Yeah, maybe that’s the best thing to do… observe them for a while and then act upon what I learn from them… she continued to herself, mulling over the looming, inevitable choice that she had to make some time in the future. If she had fellow female friends in the game, then she’d go over to them and explain her dilemma. However, though, there was still no sign of her ‘interpreter’; and she feared that her only original ‘friend’ was lost. Why did I not list her under my ‘Friends’ list when I had the chance?! She thought angrily, smacking a palm to her forehead out of annoyance while still pacing the ground, hoping that he would show up. But would he? Considering how things were going at the moment, she was holding her breath unexpectedly, hoping that something would turn this ugly situation around… and besides, she wanted to get to know him better; so that she would have a clear mind when she did make that inevitable choice that was now hanging over her.

Tags: | : Word Count : 1104 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | Ryuu was relaxing, his eyes closed on a branch. The sun blazed through the foliage above him, but he had found a nice shady area in his spot. He heard a few blips that notified him that a message had arrived. Ryuu lazily opened his eyes and looked at his HUD. He clicked through the menu to see what the message was about. His eyes widened instantly, waking him from his slumber. He hadn’t expected this person to message him. Not after his weird leave from last time. He contemplated hard to simply ignore the message, but Ryuu never did that to people, unless they were male and unless they annoyed him excessively. He had once stopped speaking to a female friend of his because he figured out that she was just using him. These were rare instances, but he had no qualms of removing a friend should they tread over a line of friendship into the realm of taking advantage of. Hanelli had done nothing like that, and so he had no reason to ignore her message.
Ryuu was somewhat surprised to receive a message from Hanelli. He read it over to make sure it wasn’t a large rant about how mad she was about what he did the other day. It seemed she wanted to invite him to go scouting again, like the first time they had met. Ryuu had taught a lot of English to her, so she was well versed at it now. She was at least proficient enough to be able to speak to other adventurers, so she probably could have found anyone else to venture with her into the unexplored phases of Sarum. Ryuu contemplated on whether he should be going, unsure of what her feelings were for him. It was apparent that she was struggling to find who was better for her, but that did not make it any easier for the man to be fighting for approval. He sighed as he stood up from his place of relaxation. He was at the sakura blossoms that she had showed him earlier. He was using it as a means to relax, even with the not so fond memories he made there. He promised he’d use it as a place of relaxation, and he did just that. He swung off the tree and landed on the ground. “Guess I’m going back to Sarum,” he said to himself. It would’ve taken quite a while to get to Sarum by foot, so he did what he normally did which was hitch a ride with a wagon. After about 30 minutes of travel, he had made it to the expeditionary camp.
Ryuu opened up his map when he got to the camp and looked for Hanelli’s presence. There were many things he could’ve done. One of them was sneaking up behind her and doing what any guy would do should they have a crush on said person. He decided to play a game with her anyways. With the usage of [Quick Draw] the movement would have been kept silent, and even if she could hear him approach, it’d have been instantaneous. He had approached right behind her and attempted to cover her eyes with his left hand and his right hand’s palm at her navel. He would place his mouth close to her right ear, his head over her shoulder. “You sure you asked for the right person to be here?” he asked her in a seductive, soft, and alluring voice. He could’ve gone further in the seduction game, nibbling here ear, unrelenting of his hold on her, but because she was still afraid of the intimacy because of her debacle, he stopped it there, releasing her from his clutches. The level 56 Assassin, if he had captured her, would let go after getting an answer from her. She would probably be flustered again, a typical response that Ryuu loved to illicit, especially from women he took a liking to. This is actually why he liked to tease girls, but only playfully. He never did it with the intent of hurting them.
Ryuu remembered the message. She wanted to scout again. Ryuu wouldn’t decline the invitation. He was here after all. “I assume there’s more to it than just scouting…” he said. This time he wouldn’t initiate a kiss. He had shown intimacy first, and should she like to respond likewise, he would allow it. Ryuu was always still open to the idea, but he would let her take her time while he played his cards. Regardless of how forward, bold, risky, or ridiculous his actions were, he’d do what he could to make her his girlfriend and eventual wife. The dating game was never really a game to him. It was always the pathway towards marriage, and he treated all of his relationships like that.
He had already proven himself capable of taking care of himself and her, in addition to making a guild. It was through this he was sure he had built himself a capable reputation. By name, Ryuu was popular. His guild held two of the three strongest players at the time and he was the leader of said guild. Ryuu was the third strongest at the moment, but he was set to surpass number 2, which was Saber who had gone looney and had disappeared. What he was up to was a wonder to everyone, but that allowed Ryuu to catch up to his level. He was only a few levels behind now, and soon, both Kyuu and Ryuu would be at the top of the charts with the words Neon Aeryn written next to their names. Now all that was left was for Hanelli to see that Ryuu would love her and make sure she was taken care of. He was already off of his high horse after he had experienced death for the first time by being crushed to death, but he still liked to bask in the light of being at the top. Most of the low-level players did not know his name, and so he had no qualms of introducing himself… however the higher-tiered players, he did not like to state his name publically. They were free to check who he was, but he would not do so unless asked. Keeping his identity a secret had saved him from a lot of headache, and thankfully, because the world was large, his face was still relatively unknown.
“Well, let’s get going… so we can have the privacy of the empty road to speak,” he said as he led the way towards their scouting destination.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Now that Han was playing ‘the waiting game’ so to speak, she began looking through the milling crowd of both Landers and adventurers alike, wondering if any of them even knew who she was. Most of the Landers that did were over at the ‘Marketplace’ area; but she was standing over at the huge Quest board where all the quests for Sarum were located; and she hadn’t been that active in terms of helping ‘clear the way’ or ‘map out the area’ so to speak. All because of hunting that particular Pharmacist item, I just really want that so I can start churning out better items and potions for the buying crowd! Shame I can’t get Caer to let go of hers though… she thought with a slight frown on her face as she then leaned against the board, looking around and trying to pick out familiar faces within the crowd. Most of the people she knew (and that were on her Friends list either way) were busy elsewhere today, so it wouldn’t hurt to invite her fellow Assassin, Kumori, out on a trip, would it? She continued looking around; but just as she spun around in order to scan another area of the entire expedition camp…
She thought she heard a slight scuffling noise, but a few seconds later there was someone whispering in her ear; it sent shivers down her spine; not to mention that the slight breathing in it was making her all ticklish and stuff! She then felt her own face burn red due to the owner of the voice; it was Kumori; otherwise known only as Ryuu (to herself) in the flesh! To his next few lines, the flush only burned even brighter; and even her normally-hidden Elvin ears began poking out and were already flushing a bright reddish hue as well. “Well, it’s not just Scouting, yes you’re correct; there’s more to this than meets the eye. That was also the reason why I took this quest… so we can have some privacy…” she trailed off, the heat on her face still radiating; how could an individual make her all flustered just by the sound of his voice? She then remembered that she was already in possession of the mapping paraphernalia; and handed him the other blank map and ‘marking pen’ so to speak. “Here you go,” she continued, letting her touch against his linger for just longer than it normally would; and then she turned red and hid her face again.
Now that he’d already given the word, she then sent him a Party request so that they could keep track of each other wherever they ended up; and she then led the way down and out of the expedition camp, and down one of the many trails that people (be they Adventurers or Landers) used in order to get to and from the site area. She then led the way, flipping out the blank piece of paper and starting to draw in the area around her; secretly thankful that the brush let the few scribbles turn into something more passable and presentable. After a few more moments of silence, she then turned around and spoke to him, quite softly, “You know, I haven’t made a choice yet. I’m still weighing the pros and cons.”

| Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0520 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | “Really?” he asked surprised. He actually wasn’t expecting her to agree with him. Rather, he was expecting her to deny the fact that they needed privacy at all. Why would they need privacy? Well, Ryuu didn’t mind it, but he wondered if there was something that was going to happen on this trip that they may have required such privacy. The imagination could have abounded of the many things that could be done on a trip alone into the wilderness. A simple kiss that would lead to making out and to much more darker and sexier things that need not be mentioned. No, he wasn’t going to force himself on her. He was a much more decent man than that. He would only do what she would allow. If all he got was a hug or a hand shake, he’d live with it. That was all he would get. He prepared his heart for whatever choice she would make, but overall, it wasn’t something he could change. Her choice was hers to make. Whoever she chose, she did it on her own accord and not due to someone’s pressure on her to choose him or the other man. While he still had feelings for Hanelli, he did not want to get too close. His heart still needed to be protected from the possible fate of him losing her regardless. Should he be too close and she choose the other man, he would be devastated, so Ryuu was simply readying himself for disappointment. He did not know how to keep himself in that state, but he’d try his best to stop himself from getting too familiar to her being with him. It wasn’t something good to be used to unless they were to be married.
Hanelli then handed him the extra map and writing instrument to him. His eyebrows raised as she allowed their contact with each other to linger a little longer than necessary. Again, it was something he didn’t expect, but he didn’t pull away or act immediately. He used his willpower to keep his hand still and allow her hands to linger a little longer on his own. Ryuu would be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy the physical contact. He may be trying to stop the emotionally charged contact from forming, but he was utterly failing at it. Ryuu took the map from her and nodded.
“Please, lead the way,” he said to her. After she started leading, she turned around and looked at him in the eyes. He told her that she was still trying to decide. Ryuu nodded. “I wouldn’t expect it to be an easy task to decide, however, take too long and you may lose both of us,” he said to her. That was the simple truth of it. Men were patient, but patience had its limits. Should she take an eternity to decide who she would choose, she would lose both of them, that was almost certain. While he could not predict the intentions of Bunji or his author, any normal person would react to a love triangle in that way.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Now that she had taken the lead, Han continued to let the brush in her hand do the ‘talking’, and watched as the blank piece of paper bloomed into something that represented a sprawling path that had offshoots leading here and there. She wondered what was going through his mind as she’d let her last statement slip; and proceeded to march on forward in silence; taking note of anything and everything unusual. After trundling down the path that they’d chosen, she then came to a stop at a large boulder, and then sketched in a circle topped by several smaller ones, and her crude drawing turned itself into quite a rather accurate impression of the path that she had come to a stop to. “I… I know that,” she began, finally turning around so that she could face him; and if he’d look closely there was this coloration all over her face. “I want to be absolutely sure about making the right choice… this is why I’d want to get to know you better,” she said softly, letting the wind carry her words in his direction. She then gestured out behind her, since the rock apparently looked like a meeting point; where they could either split up and meet back at this spot; or go down the area together and find out what lay at the other end.
“There are two roads. I don’t know where either leads, but whatever happens, I want to tell you… thank you for being so very helpful,” she continued, holding the mapping equipment and then bowing down in his direction. “Thanks… for teaching me the other language, even if I was such a complete… uhh, even if I was such an idiot back then. Thankfully, I’ve grown quite a bit ever since,” she continued, letting her gaze fall on him; and accidentally making eye contact with him! Her gaze didn’t break though, and when she realized that she was already at the point of literally staring at him, she then looked down and away; her face burning up out of sheer embarrassment! She then shook her head and continued, “So… which path do you want to explore fist, the left or the right one? I’m fine either way, you choose where we’ll go,” she continued, getting all flustered once again. If there was one thing about her that never changed, it was the fact that she would easily get flustered and try to stammer her way out of things, even if she ended up flopping in the process. She then bowed once again and then continued “I’m… I’m sorry if I set you off before. That time, the giant sakura tree? I… I wanted to chase you and figure out what the hell was going on, but I figured that you needed your space to think, so I… I decided against it. but given the chance I would still have followed you all the same,” she continued, the words tumbling out of her much like the way feelings were now tumbling around all messed up.

| Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0629 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | “There are few secrets that I have and will not divulge, however I doubt there is something you will ask me that would put me in a position to answer them. Ask, and I will give you an answer. Whether it be satisfactory or not will be up to your discretion,” he said to her. Yes, there were limitations to what he would tell, but the question wasn’t what he answered, the question was what questions would Hanelli ask him.
She began explaining the fact that there were two possible outcomes to her decision. Well of course, but before he could reply he turned to her only to see her bowed down to him. “Ano sa…” he said, trying to figure out what she was doing. She was thanking him? Well, it’s not like she was special in that regard. Yes, he liked her, but that came after the time he had spent with her, not just because of her looks, but they definitely helped. If it was a guy, he’d probably help him all the same, but it was just luck that she was a girl. He rubbed the back of his head, unsure of how to respond. “Ie, ie… there’s no need to give such a formal thanks… I was doing what any normal Japanese-speaking Englishman would do,” he would say to her. There really was no point in thanking for an act that he though was obligatory.
After her thanks and bow he lifted her head, placing his hand under her chin and lifting it so that she was now looking into his eyes. “Regardless of who you choose, I will not hold it against you… The only consolation I need is your answer, and I will be content with just that,” he said. Spoken like a man who knew what it meant to be in love and to love. It wasn’t easy for him to say that, however he knew what had to be said. He would be content, and he’d suck up all of his pride, should he be denied her love. It was never easy for a man to admit that they had lost, but in this case, there would be a loser. Whether it was him or Bunji, there was most likely hard feelings to be had, however Ryuu would do his best to stay out of conflict.
Finally, he would get to answering her question about which way to head. He looked to the left and then the right. He remembered the old D&D saying where left is always best… sooo… left it was! After he had chosen, he looked back to her to see her bowed again. Ryuu shook his head, but with a smile. He lifted her head in the same manner as before. “I was mad… but maybe it was my arrogance getting to me. I had assumed certain things which proceeded to cloud my judgment of what I wanted and what actually happened. The fault lies entirely on me. You do not have to take the blame for that,” he said. He put his hand on her cheek and parted away the bangs that fell in front of her eyes. “And I probably would’ve done the same if the roles were reversed. Sometimes, space is necessary for a relationship to grow… I cannot deny that,” he said to her.
“Let’s get going… we can speak more while we walk,” he said to her, not wanting to start the journey too late. The later it was, the more likely they’d be stuck out in Sarum, in the dark, alone. While it may have been his ideal situation to make a move, he wanted to be respectful, and so he wanted to finish the mission in a timely manner.

| ✉ | Flustered Han is most definitely flustered! |
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Seeing that he decided to go left; she then noted to herself that they would have to go right when they got back to the rocky crag that demarcated the split in the singular path that they had taken to this point. While she was looking around, letting the brush in her hands do the talking on the paper, her ears were listening to what he was talking about; and her ears actually twitched and emerged from her short hair as she heard something that sounded much like an apology? The great Ryuu, apologizing… admitting that he’s wrong? Wow, that’s quite a surprise for me! She thought as she looked up from her partially-filled map and saw that he was within her range again as he let the words tumble out. She also felt a flush spread across her face at his words; it looked like things were looking up indeed. “I… I never thought I’d hear you actually apologize. Well, you may have worded it differently but yeah, the context is still the same,” she said in both languages, half the sentence coming out in the informal Japanese that she’d gotten so used to using whenever he was around her. After that little exchange, she felt his hands brush across the bangs that were falling across her face, and yes, she was flustered again at his touch!
He may be rough on the outside edges, but inside, who knew he was like this? Someone who is just as misunderstood and as confused as I am! She thought; suddenly hoping that ‘min-reading’ was impossible in this world. Who knows, maybe he can read what I’m thinking just by looking at my face… oh my gosh, stop thinking like that you’re just making it all the more obvious! She chastised herself, bowing once again in the process and stammering as she tried to find the right words to tell him. “Ah, uhm… yes that would be a most fantastic idea,” she began, although her voice was already trembling at this point; was it that obvious?! She then took the lead once again and continued to draw in stick-figures of trees, and watched with silent wonder as whatever magic was instilled inside the brush transformed the crude drawings she was sketching into the paper into a somewhat accurate representation of the area that they were trekking through. After some time in silence, she then turned around to face him; and behind her was an unusual sight, even in these parts of Sarum; for there was a sudden burst of greenery behind her. It looked like a meadow at first glance, but in all actuality it was a field that was dotted with rocks here and there, as if representing something.
“Look, over there. Who knew that a place like this would actually yield something that’s… alive?” she began, turning her back again in order to face the scenery; it really was beautiful and breathtaking. Had they stumbled upon a secret oasis in the dead landscape? “There’s only one way to find out. Come on, follow me!” she shouted, quickly stuffing the map into her armor’s folds and then taking a running start; before leaping into the grassy ‘paradise’. Who knew if there were any monsters in this area? the moment her feet landed on the packed ground, she could immediately scent the dew and mist rising from the grass that she’d just disturbed. “You think this can become part of the reclaimed areas from the wild?” she called out to him; spreading her arms out and just… twirling around in the area! after a while, she began to feel the world spin (quite literally) so she then let her footing go out from underneath her and she collapsed on the grass, remembering to fold her hands under her head as she stared up at the surprisingly clear sky above them. it really was an odd place; after leaving the dull, dreary, dead area around the Sarum region. “You think we found another area entirely?” she continued, still looking up at the clear blue sky.

He was pretty sure that he took responsibility for his mistakes. If he had made an error, he would attempt to fix it. It wasn’t like him to deny making mistakes, rather he learned from them. He scratched his head, trying to wonder what made her think that. He wasn’t sure how to respond other than that, but they continued to walk.
As they explored, Ryuu looked ahead and at Hanelli who was walking ahead of him. She turned around and then pointed towards what was ahead of them. It was an expanse of greenery. Grass, small trees, and all the like. The female assassin was enthusiastic with what she was seeing. The greenery did not surprise the male Assassin at all. He looked around to see what they had found. It was quite green, and the Oasis stretched far to the west, feeding the greenery around it. It was a rather beautiful sight, to see the mostly rocky expanse filled with life. She ran ahead, telling him to follow after her. Ryuu did so, keeping his pace, and following the enthusiastic female. “It might be… possible… I don’t see any monsters nearby… could be a place where the city of Sarum can be built,” he said to her. The oasis was a typical place for cities to arise in desert places. Water was a hot commodity, and with a water source such as an oasis, it would be a good place to centralize the city. He looked over at Hanelli and then over at the area around them. “I think this is just a part of Sarum. Oases, while rare, are still part of the desert area. What do you think?” he asked, trying to ascertain what her thoughts were.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Once she’d heard him catch up to where she was now lying down and just staring at the sky above, Han then noticed that he was now floating in her field of vision; so she then decided to take this time to answer his curious inquiry. “It could be; it may be a park, but in the end, who knows if this place is just a glitch in the data that just happened to appear when we stumbled across its path? But all the same, it feels… peaceful to just lie down and not be bothered with anything else headed our way,” she said with this twinkle in her eyes as she unfolded one of her arms and then gestured for her to join him; to at least ‘stop and smell the flowers’ for a little bit. She knew that he had this very ‘studious’ aura about him; and if he didn’t slow down to just admire the world around him he’d eventually go crazy. I’ve seen it happen back in Japan; some of the guys who were just as immersed in studying as I was in the orphanage eventually ended up hitting their heads against the table when they couldn’t take the strain of studying anymore… she thought to herself as she then remembered the question he’d asked earlier before she’d dashed out to the ‘wild green yonder’ where they were now.
“Well,” she said, placing a finger to her lips, pondering the inquiry before answering, “…you could say that was really… ah, ‘jerky’ the way you were. No offense to that though. At least I know you’re saying sorry, although you put it in different words,” she said with a smile on her face, propping herself up and trying to look around to see where he had gone. While they were at it, she then remembered to take out the crumpled piece of paper and then began sketching in the path they’d taken as well; before faltering a bit on how to best represent the meadow that they had encountered just a few moments ago. Deciding on a circle to best represent the ‘oasis’ that they’d found, she then began by drawing in an oblate spheroid-shaped ‘circle’; before trying to draw random brush strokes here and there in order to represent the grass. She watched in silence as the paper picked up what she was trying to draw; and stared at it in silence as it became a close representation of the area that they were currently located in. I wonder what we’d have seen if we took the opposite path instead…? She thought to herself as she continued to scratch in some more extra details in order to be able to complete the general picture. After she was done, she then scratched a lone English word above it; and it read, ‘Oasis’; before she took another glance back at her companion.
“You think they’d take notice of what we just found?” she asked with a hopeful tone in her voice; taking a few moments to look at him, wondering if he really was taking his time and just enjoying the surroundings; or if he was thinking of a thousand other things in his mind!

| Skills: Tags: | : Word Count : 0586 OOC Notes: Quick Slot: Windsor Antiqua Throwing Knives | As Hanelli began to take a break at the Oasis, Ryuu followed after her. She said that his apology was sort of “jerky.” He understood what she meant, but he also didn’t think he had to apologize. While he did leave without much notice, he didn’t think that it required an apology. He sighed, but he understood somewhat the reason. He apologized again. “My apologies… I did not intend to sound like a jerk,” he said to her. He sat down next to her, looking into the clean and clear body of water. He looked at it and stared into his reflection that showed what he looked like. While it was similar to his face in real life, there were still some differences. A reflection of him. Was he a person he was proud of? Yes, he was proud the way he lived his life. He was proud the way he learned from other people. He was proud of the people he led and changed. He closed his eyes to imagine his life now and his life from before… how similar they were, how different they were.
He then began to speak. “You know… I was beginning to realize something…” he started. While he didn’t want to bring this topic up now, he had decided firmly that this was the right course of action. It was unfair to her for him to make her choose between two people. It was unfair for both the men to have to deal with this as well. Ryuu decided to be the bigger man. He didn’t want this charade to go on. He sighed, pointed his face towards the ground and then opened his eyes, unable to come out with the words. While he didn’t want to do what he was about to do, it was necessary. “As much as I like you, I don’t think it is fair for me to make you choose between him and me. Because of this, I would like you to stop considering me as a possible boyfriend. As you said before, you said you were probably not the only one I was looking to court, well you’re right. While I was not courting two people at the same time, I am confident that even if nothing comes about of my relationship with this other girl, I will eventually find another that will love me… so in earnest, I hope that you think Bunji will treat you right… and not like property. I’ll still be your friend and your mentor, but I can’t be your boyfriend… that’s what I think is the best choice for the both of us,” he said.
