Day 0/0 after Cataclysm.
The feeling of fresh air kissed his cheek, rousing him from that dreamless void from where all worries were devoured by darkness. The awakening brought with it memories;
happy memories, sad memories, memories of hatred, and some of love. With memory came clarity, the realization that he was no longer in a place he recognized. This
understanding brought anxiety. What was this place? The awakened one leaned back, trying to understand as best he could the situation around him. The hard surface against
his back reminded him of something. Tree bark? Was he outside? His eyes slowly adjusted to his environment, illucidating the details around him until he recognized these
surroundings.
"This is..."
A forest. Alfred had awakened in a place foreign to him, yet somehow familiar in a way he could not yet describe. This feeling of being out of place only made the anxiety
growing inside him ravenously devour at his composure. There was only one recourse for such a situation, and it was well secured in the young mans pocket. Alfred reached
down, searching in his pocket for a pack of cigarettes. Yes indeed, The comfort of lung destruction was always a go to idea when you were in such a situation as this...
However, it seemed even that hope would be denied to him this day. How troublesome.
Now that Alfred thought about it, what pocket was that anyway? He didn't remember wearing a coat. The young man's eyes drifted from the scenic forest to his person, taking
in the details of his appearance. A black trench coat, and dress clothes fitting a regal ball underneath. This... didn't fit any memories Alfred had prior to falling
alseep. Actually, he didn't even remember falling asleep either. No, his last memory was... loading up Elder Tale? The new expansion had come out recently hadn't it?
So why would he be dressed for the occassion?
The still confused Alfred stood himself upright, dusting leaves and dust from his new and rather nice looking clothes. He needed... some fresh water is what he needed.
There was a pond nearby, probably created from a nearby creak. He could follow it upstream and maybe find some form of life in this strange place. But first, he needed
to wake up a bit. Trudging his way to the water, Alfred fell to his knees, eagerly cupping some water into his... gloved hands? Gloves too huh... well if you want to
look regal, may as well put on some gloves for good measure. Back to the water. Alfred eagerly splashed the cool water onto his face, enjoying that brief feeling of
refreshment... at least until his eyes fell onto the calm surface of the water.
"What...? That's not..."
Golden eyes, confused and questioning had met Alfred's own. Whose were they and why did he not see his own in that reflection? No, moreso than that... this face wasn't
his, nor his hair. This wasn't... this wasn't his body. It shared certain characteristics with his own appearance but he could definitely say that this was not the face
he was born with. The reflection bit it's lip, and Alfred could feel teeth bury into his own. What had happened to him?
"Dammit... did I get knocked on the head or something? Did someone put me under the knife when I was asleep?"
Alfred could think of a number of ways this could go about, all of them rather far-fetched for the common citizen, but Alfred had never been normal to tell the truth.
Getting operated on without ones consent wasn't unrealistic in his line of work, but to such a degree? Why dress him up too? All of this was just unprecedented.
All of this required further investigation, but where to start...?
