Hiro and Midori had decided to go ahead and clean up the inside of the Parliamentary Clock Tower, otherwise known as Big Ben. News Flash: The clock tower itself is not "Big Ben," but the Great Bell inside is named Big Ben. The name only caught on as it was a more simplistic way to refer to the clock tower itself. The tower is actually known as the Elizabeth Tower, believe it or not. Just another little tidbit of information that Hiro knew, or something that his writer had just looked up on Wikipedia while writing the post, just to make sure he wasn't screwing anything up. Better to be safe than sorry, as always. But, yes. The purpose of this quest was to clean up the inside of the clock tower, and to get them just a bit closer to that guild hall purchase discount. Hiro could almost, himself, buy the guild hall from his own pocket and bank, but it would be rather stupid to spend all his money on something like that, just for the sake of it.
Then again, it would be nice to have the others pitch in for purchasing other guild-related things. At least, stuff relating to the guild hall. But, for now, the clock tower. Hiro had heard that a player who had gone missing long ago and a few others made the clock tower their home. So he was immediately suspecting that they were going to have to clean the place up. From his informative sources, he heard that it was inhabited by a bunch of teenagers who were a rather rebellious bunch. Almost none of them have been heard from since a certain incident, but Hiro didn't let it bother him much. His job was to clean the place up a bit, and that's just what he was going to do. No if's, and's, or's, or but's about it. Now, just to wait for Midori to show up.

Weird how the title of this thread is shortened as [All event guild]. Which was somewhat accurate. Their guild didn't really do much outside of events, to be honest. She could understand why the title would have been censored, but a bunch of the words in the title were legitimate. It made her wonder what the thread would be called if it was named [Whose was this?]. But someone else can test it out.
In the meantime, it was back to cleaning once again. Whoever had loitered around in this clock tower had apparently swiped a number of books from the archives in the old British Library. Many of the books had faded names that could not be easily understood but she felt as though the text was familiar for some reason. It was probably because the character of Midori was a Half-Alv and therefore had an affinity with old script. Nevertheless, she was able to make out the names of such classic books as 'Tome 4-20' and '10 Ways to Look Like Alucard'. Weird. The books were too dusty and otherwise questionable to be of any use to her collection though. Maybe Scoria could find some use in throwing them at people. She raised her palms and swept the books off a counter using her Psychic Conductor skill.
Speaking of Psychic Conductor, it was her specialty skill that she was nonetheless going to continue this quest with. The ability to telekinetically control objects and levitate them off the ground was particularly useful for getting to those hard to reach places. Allul-0 in particular was holding a broom to sweep the dust away at a far enough distance. Especially when combining this ability with her Puppeteer's skill, she was able to control Allul-0 from a farther distance than she normally would if the control bars were held normally. The only downside was a loss of dexterity, but Hiro would have been able to hit the trickier regions using his Monk's nimble abilities.
By the way, there wasn't really any need to wait for her to show up, as one would have expected from this post. She was already waiting at the higher levels of the clock tower. But if that wasn't enough of an indicator, Allul-0's latest sweep ended up striking one of those books off the counter and down several flights of the tower. 'Antagonizing Des: An Autobiography' was quickly falling down toward the ground floor, sure to make a mild crash upon impact.

Hiro was hanging around for just a minute, before hearing the clunking of a book down a stairwell. He walked over, and read the title of the book, finding it something that Scoria would probably have thrown at Fernweh in their first encounter. The dungeon raid was something that Hiro thought quite fondly of, despite how long it took. But, with that book having fallen down, it seemed as though Midori was already up in the clock tower, cleaning the place up. So, Hiro started up the stairs, and soon found his co-leader, and good friend. She was already hard at work, cleaning the place up, and it certainly looked like it needed it. Just like the reports said, teenagers lived in here. So Midori and Allul-0 were making good progress on the ground, but there seemed to be more than just the ground that needed taking care of. So, Hiro would get the harder-to-reach places next. Something that he could make use of his own skills, for sure.
Hiro started by scaling up the bookshelves, and cleaning the tops of them with a duster object. Next up was the Great Bell, which seemed to have graffiti all over it. He would need to use some upper body muscle to clean off this tasteless rubbish, and proceeded to do so. After a few minutes of hard labor on the bell, he would need to use some Mechanic skills in order to get the clock itself to start chiming. But, that would come later, probably in the next post. For now, everything needed to be cleaned right up. So, he went back to the cleaning. Magnet Grip proved to be incredibly effective at getting him to places he needed to go when cleaning high up. He would probably head outside to clean the face of the clock tower, but not until later, when everything else was all taken care of. For now, he just focused on cleaning the interior, and getting rid of all the trashy furniture that was supposed to look like legitimate furniture. Someone must've been really desperate to call this place a welcoming home. Because, in all honesty, the place was just a pigsty.

The book had crashed to the ground, which alerted her teammate as he happened to come across it on the ground. Nevertheless, they had made an earlier statement that this cleaning session was going to be quick and easy, so that it would be able to qualify for the cleaning event rewards. Apparently the organizers of the event were starting to run out of things to give to the participating guilds, so it was best that they do a couple of easier jobs to qualify for the better rewards. Of course, it was understandable that cleaning the entire tower was going to be a difficult task. That was where Hiro came up with the loophole that because Big Ben mostly referred to the iconic bell. So as long as they cleaned the bell, it was technically cleaning all of Big Ben. Hiro was quickly getting to work on that task, as his figure quickly ascended the tower with the help of Magnet Grip. Who needs ladders and stairs when you can wall jump, perhaps.
She unearthed a second set of books from underneath the counter using Allul-0. Just how many books did these people take from the library? In any case, the contents of these books seemed much different in context compared to the previous ones, indicating that it might have belonged to some other temporary resident. Still, 'How to Gank' and 'The Phenomenon of Kyou Rage' didn't seem like very engaging stories, so she tossed the books down onto a stack of books designated as 'remotely interesting for other people'. The books joined the pile of increasing, possibly-stolen books which already contained other stories like 'Book Throwing for Dummies' and 'How to Hear Visions(?) from God-senpai'.
Was this really a Big Ben cleaning thread or a Britain Library cleaning thread?

Hiro started to head outside, and nodded to Midori for a moment before making his way outside. He managed to clean up all the hard-to-reach spots. He was going to start on the exterior now, being able to climb his way up now. He, Midori, and Tsukiyomi actually managed to fix up the roads outside the building, and made it look all pretty and such. So he didn't need to worry about that. Perhaps he'd come back with another person from the guild and clean the interior hallways? That sounded like a good idea. Have Apocrypha completely clean up the Parliament building. That would be pretty sweet, actually. But, for now, time to work on the exterior of Big Ben. As Midori had mentioned, so long as the bell was cleaned, they could claim as having cleaned Big Ben's entirety. But, he might as well make it look like he was putting in an honest effort. After he cleans the outside, he would go right ahead and get the clock tower to start chiming again. Then, everybody will be able to tell what time it is.
Hiro made good use of Magnet Grip to clean the tower up right. The clock itself had four faces, so he'd need to clean up each of them. And all of them were about three times the height of Hiro, which was around 18 feet tall. Or, perhaps, 6 meters in Metric terms. Whatever. It was still tall. Hiro got to work, cleaning up the faces of the clock tower, and then the hands on the clock itself. It wasn't too much trouble to take care of one of the faces, but the other three were there. Hiro's mana pool could most certainly carry him right through, so he didn't need to worry. So, he moved to the other sides, and cleaned them up, too. It took a decent amount of time, but it was still worth it in the end. Hiro leaped off the clock tower, and used Aura Kick to land with little damage to himself. He was super glad that he was a Monk right now, as it made almost everything easier. So, he headed back inside the tower, and up to the mechanism.
Hiro looked over to Midori and Allul-0, as they were cleaning, and he asked her to do him a favor. "Hey, Midori. I'm gonna work on fixing up the clock mechanism so it actually tells time again. You mind heading outside, when you're done, and throwing me a message if you can hear the bells outside?" A simple enough request, yes, but important nonetheless. The place was looking a lot better already, mostly thanks to Midori's cleaning with Allul-0. She was very helpful, and Hiro really appreciated it. He turned back to the clock mechanism, and started to tinker with it. Hiro couldn't tell if Midori was still in by the time he was done, but he still went into finishing up the clock, and getting it to tell the time. He looked at his in-game clock, and set the clock tower to match up with the in-game clock. He then started to tinker with the bell's mechanisms, so that it would chime with the clock, as it hit the hour mark. Since it was about to hit 4 PM, Hiro stayed inside, and watched things from there. If it worked, Midori would send him a message, and he would leave immediately. A job well done, for sure.
