Deep in the Windsor Greatwood a certain low level monk was pounding away at a tree. His fists were completely bare, but were finally starting to make a dent in the tree he was working them on. Each thrust of Taios' fists against the wood gave him a new surge of adrenaline. Today was Training Day, as he had dubbed it. Why? Because he was sick and tired of sitting around in London doing absolutely nothing. At least out here he could train his body and hopefully get enough strength to take on some monsters solo, since so far no one he had met was interested in partying up. He had pretty rotten luck thus far doing much at all besides walk around and talk to People of the Land. They were nice enough, but it baffled his mind how the program had seemed to become sentient. They were no longer simple programmed beings, but seemed to be just as real and human and he is. Creepy, but mostly cool. Still, it was depressing knowing they weren't real in his world. He at least wanted a couple of new friends to tag along with... or maybe a beautiful woman. Yes, he would be very happy to get to know some ladies. Perhaps, if this ordeal ever ended in this game, he could invite some out to drinks. Well, if they were from Germany at least. Then again, nothing wrong with taking a vacation to England or France either.
By now Taios had lost complete focus on what he was doing, instead standing there with one fist held midair as his thoughts wandered to pretty women. It wasn't until several minutes passed, and a leaf conveniently flew into his face, that the monk realized he was standing there like an idiot. "Gah!" he sighed, dropping his fists to his sides. Perhaps he should take a mini break, after all he had been at this for several hours. His breath was quite ragged and sweat was dripping down his face and body. Bringing his arms up over his head, he began to stretch. First his arms, then to his torso by leaning side to side, and finally his legs. Each big stretch brought out a groan of relief. Jeeze, he had really got a work out here. Whenever this was over and he was Julian again, he would definitely need to work out like this. He really enjoyed being so fit. It was something new and exciting that he hadn't even cared about before. It wasn't like he was very large, but he could lose a little weight in the real world. And he certainly could stand to gain some muscles.
After his stretches were all well and done, Taios plopped down next to the tree he had been beating on. The shade was welcoming, blocking out the heat of the sun. Crossing his hands behind his head, Taios leaned back against the tree with a tired grin. Just a little break was all he needed and then he'd start training again. Definitely... That was... exactly... what he would do... Without realizing it, he was suddenly dozing off. Probably not the best idea in the middle of the woods, but to him this was still very much a game. With one last final yawn, he drifted away to dreamland to rest his mind and body. |

Exploring the woods, blade in one hand and shield in the other, he searched through the treeline for something to catch his attention. He needed to get stronger, and there was no better way than out here. It had taken him a fairly long while to figure it out, but what point was there in staying in town? There was a world to explore, strength to gain, power to obtain, and yet so many simply wasted away their lives. For all intents and purposes, he was immortal! He had no true reason to fear his death, and he could simply heal wounds placed on himself and any would-be allies. With new determination he searched for a way to spend his time and get stronger, hoping to one day surpass those who had joined the former game long before him!
While in the forest he searched for anything to fight or slay, even without any really offensive skills, he still had a shield and a weapon at his side. With those alone he could handle any enemies is own level, he was fairly sure. It would not hurt to have a party though, and for obvious reasons he needed to get one for future battles. Healers are not the best when it comes to multiple enemies, even when clad in plate armor as he was. All at once his attention is turned to the distance, hearing a faint thudding. Curiosity took hold of him and he started moving towards the source, even when it grew silent once again.
Before long at all he found himself looking down towards a weaponless monk who had decided to take a nap. He smiled at his bravery or sleepiness, to go as far as to fall asleep outside of a safe zone. It was a good thing he was not a PK or this could have gotten really messy really fast! Instead he chooses to play a prank. Sure, it would be easy to just give him a nudge to wake him up, but that was a waste of his talents! He holds his sword arm out in front of himself and focuses, soon saying the words "Reactive Heal!" A healing light shoots from his hand and towards the sleeping monk, covering him in a soft glow which would turn to healing when he was next damaged! He watches to see if the player awoke from the light or the sound, curious to see how deep a sleeper he was.

BLACK TEARS, BLACK SMILES Black credit cards and shoes You can call all the people you want But it's you who's being used So this is what it was like to live in the fantasy worlds you often read in the novels. The experience was quite interesting already considering that she now had skills she could not have accomplished in the real world. Every step she took as she jumped from branch to branch made absolutely no sound at all even when she landed without shifting her weight. It was a liberating feeling as she flew through the air, the extra material of her cloak flowing behind her as she went. Before this she couldn't even climb a tree let alone run along their branches and use it as a means of travel. This was going to be a new start for her as she never could have made her own choices in the real world, not unless she wanted to live without the money and with the constant disappointment of her parents. As the cool breeze whipped against her face she smiled to herself, she was just about to slip into her own world when she heard the shout of another player somewhere down below. Coming to a halt, Serana climbed down through the branches to see a man standing nearby a player who was laying on the ground. ' An easy mark.' she thought to herself as she remained hidden. Serana considered the possibility of taking the Cleric out quickly as she had more damage than a Cleric and then trying to get the loot from both of them. Something in the back of her mind warned her however that this might not be as it seemed and going in for a kill might be suicide. Watching the scene unfold further she noted that he was casting a heal on the downed man though she could see no nearby enemies. Why was he down? Was he asleep or did an Enchanter hit him with a spell before leaving him to die out here in the field? Removing her dagger from it's sheathing she started to climb down slower so she could hear whatever conversation might take place between the two of them. At the same time she positioned herself so that she can flee from them should the need arise or even ambush them and perhaps take them by surprise. She was weary of everyone else since the catastrophe happened, most were quick to point blades at one another. Though that was no different than her actual existence as she learned early on that most people hid their true selves beneath the surface. Still she doubted that the Cleric would ever get the drop on the Monk considering that monks were one of the three tanking classes that existed within Elder Tale and could easily hold their own. ' Still, why is this fool asleep in the middle of nowhere with danger everywhere?' she wondered. Sitting down with her back against the tree, she tossed her dagger in the air and caught it. She would repeatedly do this until someone took notice of her presence. It would take a truly perceptive person to notice her, however, but she had all day and nowhere else to be. Following his mind as it wondered Eonis walked in a erratic manner being led around by the figures that were in his dreams. The heavy clunking of his armor seeming to go along with his heartbeat so the half asleep guardian seemed to be oblivious to the world. He would have continued to walk in any which way until he walked into a tree knocking him fully awake from his sleepy stupor, suddenly fully awake to the pain he looked around his surroundings seeing a player asleep on a tree and another player casting some type of spell, noticing the sleeping players health rise for some reason he deduced that the second player was healing class. Wanting to join in but still shy because of his natural self he wanted to go and introduce himself but he felt that he would sound depressed and they would take his facial feature as disrespectful.
Thinking about how he felt that he would disturb the two he decided to look around for something he could use as a guardian in his sleep he could not find any so he settled for something shocking him awake. He decided to resume his sleep that he felt like he missed during the time that the system forced him to wake up, seeing a nearby tree that would place him in their eyesight but was far enough away that he seemed to not be eavesdropping on them if they every struck up a conversation. Walking over to the tree he felt himself lose his motivation to move for the day with each step, the only thing keeping him standing was the fact that he did not want to fall asleep in the sun as he was already brown he did not want to end up pitch black. Finally arriving at his destination he drew he sword from his shield and placed his shield in his left arm while stabbing his sword into the ground on his right side in case of something daring to attack the large visage of metal. Finally feeling like he is imposing enough of a warning for anything that would normally wander around this area of the forest, dazing off into his familiar state the first thing he had seen was a small fairy sneaking around him climbing up trees and making plans for practical jokes, unaware that he was speaking out loud he said "Ms. Fairy it's not nice to pla pranks on others." in a voice that seemed to be delirious.

"come on! live it up while you can!"
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Luck was definitely on the monk's side today. Not that he had even really thought out what sort of situation he had put himself by falling asleep out here, all alone in the middle of the woods. When the cleric arrived to his location, Taios was blissfully unaware. His dreams were full of beautiful fox tail women! He had even begun to drool slightly, the wet slobber dribbling down to his chin and then off onto the grass. "Pwetty girlsies," he mumbled, rolling over onto his side. That was when he felt it, a strange warmth was covering his body and gently entering it. His fists were the first thing to feel immediate relief, followed by his muscles. What a nice feeling it was... Suddenly, amber eyes shot open as he jumped up.
"WHO DID WHAT?!" he shouted nonsensically, whipping his head around to look at his surroundings. Trees... trees... and some guy. "Woah!" he exclaimed, realizing his HP had been restored and his body no longer ached. "Did you do that? It was all warm feeling and nice," Taios blinked, finally fully aware of himself and the cleric guy. "Oh jeeze, you scared the hell out of me, man," he sighed, rubbing the back of his head. He wasn't mad at all, his silly grin gave away that much. "I appreciate the wake up though. Oh- and the whole not being murdered thing," he quickly added this with a carefree laugh. If he had been PKed he would've just ended back up at the Cathedral anyway, so it wasn't like it mattered to him. Realizing he had probably just confused the daylights out of the prank-playing Cleric, he grasped his left fist with his right hand before his chest and bowed. "I am Taios, it's nice to meet ya," he introduced, straightening back up with the same grin on his face.
At this point, the red head decided to take a look around. His gut was telling him that more people than just this cleric were about now, and since he was nice enough to not PK him in the midst of the woods he could at least watch out for the guy in case anything were to go down. His gut told him to look up first, which he certainly did. Lo and behold a lady sat above, tossing around a dagger in the air. An assassin no doubt, probably the most shadiest bunch in the game in his opinion. But a lady was a lady, and he would not fight her unless she proved a threat. "Hello up there, pretty birdy," he winked at Serana, his grin turning into a flirtatious smirk. It was just his luck that not only a healer had come around but now a woman! It was a dream come true~
But, before he could get too distracted by her, another voice came from close by. A giant metal robot! Oh- no just a guardian. Who seemed to be in a delirious state, almost like Taios had been when he was first woke by the spell that was cast by Zerva. This guy said something about a fairy playing pranks, which caused an eyebrow to quirk up in confusion on the monk's part. "Uh... you okay, guy?" he asked, completely missing the point that he must have been referring to assassin lady. |

He himself was blissfully unaware of the others who joined, laughing to himself when he saw the monk panic from the awakening, he had gotten his personal amusement and he was happy about it. While waiting for him to get his barings he held his kite shield and sword in case he turned out to be less than happy. Thankfully it did not come to that and he just said to Taios "Not a problem, it was too good a chance to miss." He chuckles softly and adds "It's the little things. Gotta take pleasure when you can!" He looks around when he does and says "But yeah, I am a cleric... hard to see what with all the heavy equipment, right? I think the creators went overboard." He winks and pats his plate armor. "More like a paladin than a cleric... but who am I to complain?"
When thanked for not PKing, Zerva just chuckles and adds "Well, as a healer, PKing would either make or break my career. Healers get surviveability but low damage... And no tanking!" He nods and says "Me making enemies without a firm group would put a target on me." When Taios' eyes lock onto the assassin his soon followed and he smiled, waving with his shield arm. He was not too concerned. Aside from stun related skills, assassins could be partially countered by a healer. Not well, but they are not defenseless. His eyes observed her and then he said "Hello from me as well. Care to come down here with the rest of us?" He smiles happily, easily able to cast a spell on himself that would instantly heal her next strike, but that would show fear. And he knew that the moment you feel fear is the moment you die in a lot of games. Gotta keep your bravery as high as your stats!
In the corner of his vision he noticed the guardian, but was less worried about him. Tanks were only his priority when wounded, it was just programmed that way into his mind from years of gaming, and he looked perfectly healthy. Now DPS... those were the ones you had to keep your eyes on. Two unchecked hits from a boss can spell their doom in worst cases. "Hey, correct me if I am wrong, but we have ourselves our own little group here, right? Sure we have two tanks, but one could easily switch to DPS!" He uses his gamer lingo, under the assumption others would understand. "Honestly I would rather have a ranged DPS instead of two tanks, but this is manageable!" He was a healer, so he always kept his eyes on the battlefield... he accidentally learned minor strategy from it, despite hating taking the lead in groups.

BLACK TEARS, BLACK SMILES Black credit cards and shoes You can call all the people you want But it's you who's being used It was no surprise that the monks initial reaction to being healed would be to freak out when he was startled awake. Perhaps this would teach him the dangers of falling asleep in the wild considering that she could have easily killed him in his sleep and looted his body. Serana would not resort to those tactics however unless she was bored or in desperate need of some new gear as she tried to keep her reputation relatively clean in the beginning. She needed cannon fodder to start with so that she could level up and grouping was the best way to do just that. When she reached higher levels who knew what her game plan would be but for now she definitely needed them. When the two of them called out to her from the ground the assassin would stop twirling her dagger. Turning her head enough to look down at them she stared blankly for a few moments trying to assess the situation. The monk was probably a womanizer and the cleric was a practical joker. Was this the sort of party she wanted to be involved in? Neither of them seemed to be dependable in the sense that they could be serious enough to get the job done. Then again you could never be one hundred percent sure of someones skills from their looks or personalities. Dropping from the branch she would land gracefully on her feet before she slipped the blade back into a hidden sheath on her leg. "This pretty birdie just spared your life. It is foolish to fall asleep in the wild like this. I could have sold you out to the PKers I spotted on the way here." she said in a rather nonchalant manner. Was she telling the truth about there being PKers nearby? It was a possibility as she had no reason to lie about it. She was honestly the only real threat to them in the immediate area as there was no telling what those in the assassin class might do. Not even minutes after she had come down to chat did the cleric start talking about forming a party. Her expression showed a rather profound lack of interest yet in her head she knew it made sense. Serana stood to gain by taking advantage of their kindness and how easily they seemed to trust that she was not some sort of PKer spy or something. "I suppose you have a point. Were either of you any good at this game before we got sucked in?" she asked. Serana was not about to ally herself with a bunch of new players who might get her killed that easily. Serana also noted that only Taios had given his name, perhaps he was the only one here with any true manners. That often meant that he might be older than the average MMO player as most only seemed to shout crude things or speak in web slang. To her this was a relief as it meant she was not playing with a child. Still, what did it say about her that she still was not offering her name either? "I'll join up for now. I don't often play well with others, you have been warned. You do your job, I'll do mine, and we all walk away with experience and loot. Sound good?" she asked. Hearing voices during his slumber, Eonis grumbled in response to the various sounds coming from his surroundings. Not bothering to leave from his comfortable positioning, the guardian began to scan the three players that were responsible for waking the guardian from his sleep. First and foremost he decided to pay attention the monk that seemed to be looking at him like he was a 4 headed dragon being ridden by a teddy bear; from what he could tell the player seemed to be of lower height than the guardian but that did not make him weaker as this was a virtual reality game, he also saw that this persons hair seemed to be as red as a tomato and from his experiences in real life he knew not to make a comment on it yet.The second person catching his attention is the assassin standing within striking distance from him, he could see her facial features but she actually did not really have any distinguishing features except for wearing all white. This reminded him of one of his favorite games he played when he was a just a tween, she wants to blend in so she has no distinguishable features. The thing about this girl was that she seemed to not care to acknowledge his presence or she did not know about it, this was a first to the guardian as he took up a great amount of space so he made a mental note marking her a s a point of interest. The final person that the guardian had came from his nap was the cleric talking about having a perfect party, his wording processing through the gamer veteran's head quickly as he assumed that since he was a primary tank and the assassin was a melee dps along with the monk as an off-tank. The best feature the cleric had about him was that he seemed to be a fox-tail cleric, this reminded him of his first friend he made since coming to this game so he decided to talk to him to make himself acquainted with his soon to be party members.
Standing up slowly the guardian sheathed his sword into the back of his shield and walked over to the black haired fox tail seeming to mumble to himself the large guardian looked around at the group saying in a sleepy tone "I'm not sure how to say this well but I have no idea how I got out here really." Taking a second to stretch and yawn. "Sorry, that's what I get for trying to sleep in when this game won't let me sleep past a certain point in the day, as I was saying I don't know how I got here so I have no plans. If any of you are willing to create a party for me to join so I could get my bearing of this place I would be indebted to you." As he finished saying this he took a glance at the small assassin as something about her seemed to pique his interest enough to make him snap out of his sleepy droll and he began to wonder what made this person so special, as he was doing so his eyes seemed to wander to the nearby trees and to keep himself from wondering about anything else he turned to look the assassin in the her left eye since he was already looking in her direction. Unfortunately in trying to stay awake he opened his eyes as if he was alert and he thought a few seconds too late that he should not make it seem like he is trying to intimidate the aloof assassin or he saw a potential enemy.

"come on! live it up while you can!"
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Well, things had certainly taken an interesting spin. And Taios thought he would just be training all day, ha! It definitely paid off coming out here, even if that falling asleep thing was idiotic. Not only did he have a beautiful woman in his presence, but the possibility of a whole party was before him. First, the lovely assassin would prove critical to their DPS, and of course the cleric for the heals, but now a full-fledged tank which meant he himself could serve as a DPS off-tank. That was the beauty of the monk class in his eyes, it was useful whether you were just soloing or had a whole variety of party possibilities. He had yet to see the monk class be in a useless position. If he could get the boost here and now, possibly making some permanent friends out of this too, that meant he could get much further in this game... or world... or whatever. Perhaps start a guild, even. But that was a lot of thinking ahead, which would no doubt give him a headache so for now he would simply focus on what was currently going on.
First, the assassin had finally dropped from her perch in the tree. She spoke harshly toward him in particular, and a serious look grazed his face. The lady was right! He was a fool... he could have been easily PKed, which would have meant starting over. But yet, she had not ratted on him. She seemed tough, but oddly... nice. In her own cute way. Oh! he could feel his heart beating faster. He owed the beautiful woman his life, did he not? Without a word, he stepped forth and bowed with one knee on the ground. He attempted to grab her right hand with his own to plant a soft kiss upon it. Whether or not that happened, he would follow the bowing with words, "I am indebted to you, m'lady. I truly appreciate you sparing my foolish self." Would he do this in the real world at all? Probably not. But while in this world of fantasy it would be amusing for him to take on the role of being a right, proper gentleman when the time called for it. After making the spectacle, Taios would raise to his two feet once more and face the cleric who was now speaking of partying up. It seemed they were on the save wavelength in terms of their goals for now. This would be very good indeed.
"I am more than okay with us joining up! We should all balance out well, and I would not mind becoming the DPS off-tank," Taios elected, a grin gracing his lips, "It would be nice to make some friends and get a start with leveling properly!" It seemed the group was all in agreement for the most part, though when the guardian admitted to not even knowing how he got there Taios thought he might fall over from disbelief. How...? He must have been sleep walking then? How strange. But he wouldn't voice these thoughts, not wanting to be rude. As long as the guy didn't fall asleep while they were killing some beasts he'd be fine to have in the party. Serana's beautiful voice met his ears with a question on their experience. Taios was not afraid to pipe up on that subject. "I played just a bit before this... thing happened," he admitted, "So I'm familiar enough. And have experience elsewhere in the basic concepts and genre we're playing with here." She seemed hesitant, but in the end willing to go. That was all the confirmation he needed after the guardian gave his blessing as well. "It's decided then," he declared, "we shall party up and help each other out!" Training Day had turned out more perfect than the monk had expected. He felt like one heck of a lucky guy. |
