The world offered many gorgeous locations where one could see an excellent view. The Grand Canyon, the Niagra Falls, Mt Everest, and many more. The world behind a computer screen also had amazing views, but they were flat and dampened because they were behind a screen.
Now that Draze and Nifhel were trapped with so many others by the Apocolypse, the scenery of the game had become real, magnificent and engaging in so many ways the real world had not. Draze and company were currently taking a breather at the roots of one of the many magnificent trees that dotted the Canyone and gave it the name. He was riding his horse, a skittish beast he had dubbed Eustace because it was a truly useless beast. The one attempt at combat he had tried had had him charging into the fray on a horse that abandoned him after the first blow, leaving him stranded and bound for the cathedral.
Since then, he had met up with Nifhel, the one who had brought him into the game and trapped them both inadvertently, and they had sworn to try and puzzle out a life together here. Now there were travelling outside of Londinium for the first time, Nifhel sitting behind Draze as Eustace walked on slowly.
Horse riding was an uncomfortable experience, but Draze had taken to it much quicker than Nifhel. Being a Cavalier, he found he had some instinctual grasp of horse riding despite never having practised it in the real world. He supposed it was necessary to help beginners new to the game, who would not have enjoyed learning a difficult practice on top of learning combat and magic. Nifhel, who was not a Cavalier, was still looking a little queasy. Still, the Monk had cheered up, and could be heard softly singing something about raisins as they forged onward.
What there was to do out here was unclear. They saw a few monsters about, but the Draze and Nifhel had discussed attempting combat again, only to realize they were lost and didn't want to get separated should one of them die and return to the cathedral in Londinium. So they rode, walking to who knows where, just taking in the sites. Perhaps something would come along and begin a new adventure?
