The last swing managed to do decent amount of damage on the mimic making Reynard confident that at least someone would be left alive after this encounter. Especially since the monster started attacking the higher level person of the group who could tank better despite being a healer class. This set up should allow them to whittle away the HP without any more risks. Unfortunately this happy arrangement could not stay as the monk had somehow drawn the aggro again of the monster despite doing less damage. Like before, the attack took a chuck of the monk’s HP but at least this time, the cleric’s Reactive Heal had been cast on him causing him to recover more than 10% of his HP. Reynard recognized though that it still wouldn’t be enough allow the monk to survive another hit which meant they had to burn this monster’s HP fast.
Thankfully, the druid wasn’t going to put up with the monster any longer than she wanted and gave it another good whack bring the whole HP to zero. Reynard watched as the monster exploded into sparkles. With the battle done, the foxtail properly sheathed his sword and hung his wand back on his side. That action was a little harder to do than one would believe but his body somehow knew how to do it without fumbling his weapons.
No other HP bars popped out for now in his vision meaning that there wasn’t any aggro’ed monsters nearby. Analyzing what would happen now, Reynard came to the idea that since Lukav was the one who opened and hit the mimic first, the were-cat should be getting the loot. Maybe one of the loot was a treasure chest? It meant though that Reynard wouldn’t get anything from that fight except maybe some exp for attacking it. He remembered though what Lukav had said before; which was that he found some monsters guarding some treasure chest a few clicks from their current position. Could that be the same for this mimic? Reynard waded to the spot where he first saw the monster-in-disguise to search there. As he was walking above the spot where the monster hid, he felt his foot hit step on something harder than the bank. Sensing an opportunity, Reynard dove underneath to dig with his hands to uncover this buried item. After moving some mud and water away, the fox-tail felt something solid he could grab on to and pulled it out of the water with all his strength.
His ears and tails twitched in happiness as he did find one of the rumored treasures at this place.
“Whoohoo... Treasure!”
And it looked like he wasn’t the only one as attested by the feminine cry of the druid. He turned around showing off his own discovered loot.
“I have unearthed my own treasure as well. It looks like we were fruitful with our findings.”
Without a bag of holding, Reynard would have to hold onto the treasure chest until he opened it. Despite the friendliness of this group, opening the treasure chest was something Reynard wanted to do solo.
“Unfortunately I cannot continue with this as I have nowhere to put it safely. But before I leave…”
Reynard set down his box and opened up his UI and selected the name plates of the two people before him and proceeded to drag them to his friendlist. The only thing he had to wait for was the acceptance of the two allowing him to add their names onto his friendlist.

“Aw yeaaaah” we made it. eh, but is it really the end? (look around) seems like there is no monster coming for backup. (Scratch scratch) not like I had a good detection skill to begin with. Hmm, also why did it just one chest. Oh, yeah, maybe we must split it for three persons. “Uh, hey guys. Like I told you I don’t have experience about treasure hunting. How to split our lo …” when I turn my head to them, I found the druid girl pulling a large chest from the river, and the cleric guy stumbled on a buried chest too. Well that solve things.
Hmm, wait a minute. If our monster is a treasure chest, then there is no chest left for me since we ganged up on it until it destroyed. I turn my head to where the monster supposed to be. “Ooh” there is a small urn from the dropped loots, and when I touch it, there is a pop up panel where ‘treasure chest’ words listed on its name. seems like it meant to be hidden inside of the monster. Ah, okay, seems like I got one too.
I put the chest I found on my shoulder then meet up with the cleric guy, he told us about the disbandment of this party since we already achieved our goal, and telling us if we want to add on each other friends list. I give him an Ok finger, then he instructed me how to do it. After all that, I just walking happily back to the jungle.

It seemed that both boys each had managed to grab a treasure chest of their own. This was great as there would be no needless quarrelling on who gets what item. Mab had issues with people always wanting the treasures. The girl herself could really care less. Though she did not mind treasure, it was not why she went adventuring. It was just something that happened to come with the territory. This was something Mab disliked about some of the adventurers she had been on the road with. The people that were treasure whores. Feeling like they were owed something just by their mere presence. Usually Mab did not argue. There were items aplenty. No need to get all huffy about it. At least that is how the druid felt usually. With her treasure safely added to her inventory she noticed the friend request from Reynard. Mab added him to her slowly growing friend list. Mab greeted the monk goodbye as he seemed to trod of into a vague direction. It was a successful day, everyone found treasure. Mab would be happy with whatever she got. Even if the treasure was the consolation prize “A Tissue” the druid would be happy. She looked at the cleric and the overly large chest. “Need help logging that to a safer place?”Mab offered the cleric as after she staring at the treasure chest she looked back up at him. Mab offered to help carry, not carry the chest herself. The chest it seemed had side handles. It would be easy if each were to use one side handle and carry the box in between them. Mab would not offer again if Reynard refused.

Both of them accepted his request making it a whole 200% increase of his friends list. Lukav needed some help on how to accept the request though, which was just simply pressing the button on his UI. The monk didn’t stay long after that and abruptly left without another word. Such a strange fellow. Mab on the other hand, easily accepted his request but didn’t leave right away, even offering to help him carry the chest back to the city.
It sounded a bit risky as if the druid felt like, she could easily kill him and get the treasure for herself. But if he wanted people to trust in the future, Reynard would have to take a leap of faith and hope the druid’s offer was genuine. He then thought of something a little less risky but would still accept the druids kind offer.
“That is kind of you but I have no problems carrying this. But Company on the way back, would be most appreciated and would have the same effect as escorting this to a safer place.”
If Mab had no problems, Reynard would start walking back towards the city. He had the feeling he should make some small talk on the way back but his ideas were running dry at the moment. The weight of the chest in his arms made him wonder what was in this chest and if it was going to be useful or just for decoration… which gave him the idea for small talk now.
“So…. What do you think is in this chest?”

The cleric was a careful kind of guy, well that was the nicest way Mab could put it. The other ways however were more in the line of paranoid so Mab chose not to think on it further. Careful was alright. The girl nodded her head. She had not one issue of not having to lug around the treasure chest. Mab herself had just emptied her own and left the empty chest. Whoever had started this game could use the chest again, the girl figured. The contents were safely put into her inventory. There seemed little chance of losing it there. “ Sure.... I will walk with you.”Mab said, smiling broadly. The honey blonde druid was in an excellent mood and had found treasure to boot. How could this day not be a fun day. Her mood had nothing to do with finding treasure, the girl just had a sunny disposition. The druid felt no urge to make small talk. Silence did not cause her discomfort, it gave her time to look around and to enjoy whatever it was she was looking at. Sometimes she got caught humming softly. Only for the humming to stop, if only for a moment. She stopped walking when Reynard asked her what could be in the box. She turned to look at the cleric and wore a mischievous smile. Her eyebrows slightly raised; her eyes looking amused; she breathed in to speak. “I don’t know what’s inside...”Her amusement did not disappear. “To find out you will have to open the box and look...”Mab shrugged this was the best she could do with the question. She smiled at the cleric. There was no need to do so now. But the chest looked heavy. Mab did not care one bit about the chest nor the content, not really. This because it was none of her business. “You don’t have to open it now, and don’t worry.... I am not gonna take anything from you.”Mab wanted to make that very clear. As she sensed that Raynard held some reservations towards her intentions.

In hindsight in was a not the best question to ask as every gamer would know random treasure was really random; unless you had a guide somewhere. Still the druid had a point and she was being nice about it despite the fact Reynard was obvious in his cautiousness about her. Certain people would have been offended by lesser actions but at least she had the sense-of-humor to tease him about it. Reynard mentally kicked himself about it his recent behavior. He had been raised better than this and taught to treat others properly and not be contemptuous. His ears and pressed down sadly and his tail a bit limp as he thought these thoughts.
“I apologize.”
Reynard looked apologetic, showing he understood Mab’s intent. It wasn’t nice to think wrong of a person whose actions did not show any kind mischief. He stopped walking along the river bank and placed his heavy load down.
“And you are correct. It is better if I open this now.”
He knelt down and placed a hand over the box to open it. As this wasn’t a monster like last time, instead of the chest attacking him, items entered into his inventory. The foxtail opened the UI of his items to find out what he got.
“I have no idea what these items are. Maybe something from the new patch.”
Standing back up, Reynard gave an exaggerated stretch along with his tail and ears perking up as his mood was better now. The ever happy druid probably contributed to that as it was hard to stay contemplative around her.
“It looks like I will have to ask someone to appraise what I have, which would mean going back to the city. If you are going back as well, allow me to escort you back.”
It was the gentlemanly thing to do… despite the fact she was the higher level one and would be the one escorting him. But manners were manners and it was only polite to offer. Worse that could happen was looking like a fool and that wasn’t the worst thing in the world.
