Claim Verification System
- A method to handle the claims backlog by having the members themselves check each others' claims.
- Members will be held with a level of trust should this system be used. It may be suspended if deemed necessary.
- How to verify AP claims:
- Count up the word count for every post by using an online checker to see if they match up with the listed amount.- When you verify claims, you must verify the bottom-most claim available. If a mod has replied to a claim or if there have already been two positive verifications, you may leave that claim alone and move on to the next available one.
- After counted, confirm whether the AP they listed in their post is correct to be claimed.
- Briefly check whether the content of the posts makes sense with the class they're claiming it for. This should not be a strict rule so long as the person doesn't claim, say, 30 Sorcerer AP in a thread where they're doing nothing but non-magic cooking with their Chef subclass.
- Be sure to note if the person made more than 30 AP in solo threads in the claim. There is currently a limit of 30 claimable solo AP weekly. Some people choose to combine multiple weeks into one claim, so check the post dates to confirm whether they are valid or not.
- If there are no problems, reply to the thread saying something like 'Your AP Claim was verified'.
- If the person has any errors with their AP Claim, you may constructively address the errors you find with their claim. The claim owner may then reply and address whether they've made any changes or whether they choose to defend their claim as it is. When the claim is checked by a mod, these comments will be taken into consideration for checking during the final approval.
- After two successful verifications, the AP Claim is considered provisionally approved. Thus, you are considered approved unless a mod has any further issues with your claim. You may then invoke the RP's "Liquid Time" clause and consider yourself to have acquired any AP/skills you may have claimed for the purposes of non-official RP threads. If you should do anything that requires official levels, such as an event RP thread or crafting claim thread, please wait for an official approval.
- A mod will then check the provisionally approved claim for accuracy and perform an official approval. The mods will be trusting that accurate verifications were made, so this official check will be brief. If a member's verifications are deemed consistently inaccurate, repercussions may occur for that member.
- In the case that there are no provisionally approved claims when a mod is checking AP Claims normally, the usual process will still be followed. The oldest claim will be checked first. For example, there are two claims: a claim that was made on 3-1-14 and a claim that was made on 3-3-14. The 3-1-14 claim was bumped up to the top of the subforum because someone posted a verification review on 3-4-14. It will still have priority over the 3-3-14 claim because it was put up earlier.
- You may not verify your own claim. If you made a reasonable large AP claim though, it's common courtesy to at least verify one or two others so that everyone gets through quicker.
