Note that with our change to an upgraded Monetary System and Forum Shop, there have been some changes in the way crafting is done. Due to current restrictions in the plugin, removing an item from a user's profile meant that all stacks of the same item are removed. Therefore, crafting will no longer utilize Materials from the item shop. Equipment and skill/subclass changes will still be done there (be sure you only buy them when you need them). If you previously bought materials or items in the shop, you have been refunded the amount you paid.
The new method of crafting involves a Crafting Fee that the crafter must pay. This amount is generally equal to 5 x (materials needed) x (materials' level) in Gold. The item level of your final product becomes the average level of the materials used to craft it. So if you were to craft a Lv5 food item which requires 3 ingredients, for example, you would have to pay 5 x 3 x 5 = 75 Gold to craft the item.
The only restriction you have toward crafting is that you may not craft an item that is higher than your crafting class's level. Certain accessories that boost item quality are the exception toward bypassing this rule.
If you are crafting for someone else, you will probably want to arrange for your client to donate some money to you as payment. For clients, this can be done by going to the crafter's profile and clicking Give Donation.
Certain items require you to make other items to use as material. Beginner Grimoire is crafted with 1 Magic Ink, 1 Quill Pen, and 1 Old Paper. Since the Magic Ink and Quill Pen are physical items you've crafted, you pay no Material Fee to use these items. The Old Paper is the only item you would have to buy. Let's say you have a Lv10 Magic Ink and a Lv4 Quill Pen, but you want to buy a Lv10 Old Paper. Since you only need to buy one material, the Material Fee for crafting this item is 5 x 1 x 10 = 50 Gold. The item level of the Grimoire becomes (10+4+10)/3 = Level 8.
Some crafts do not require any Material Fees since you don't need to buy any materials in the first place. For example, the item Magician's Reloader requires 1 Magic Ink, 1 Parchment Paper, and 1 Quill Pen. Since all these items are player-crafted, there is no Material Fee to craft it. The item level of these types of items become the average of all materials used to craft it. So if you have a Lv10 Magic Ink, Lv2 Parchment Paper, and Lv6 Quill Pen, your Magician's Reloader becomes (10+2+6)/3 = Level 6.
Crafting using Mana Fragments is a slight exception - they can be crafted naturally by Alchemists but can also be purchased by paying a Material Fee of 25 gold each. Mana Fragments do not have levels, so they do not count toward the average level of an item. An item crafted purely out of Mana Fragments has its item level equal to the crafting level of the crafter.
Hopefully this explanation will help you understand how to craft. If you have questions, feel free to ask a mod or a knowledgeable crafter.
