A constant pattering rang out as the lone Guardian trudged along the path to the edge of the Greatwood. The storm wasn’t much of a surprise, dark clouds having blanketed the skies for the past few hours, which meant the fields were more vacant than ever. Guess it’s my luck that people tend to stick around town in this~ he thought with a grin, running his open hand through his wet hair to push it up and out of his face. Sooty had always enjoyed the rain more than others, often continuing his work despite the sloshing that would come with it back in his world. And if anything changed since his arrival here, it would be an even higher tolerance, something he generally blamed his Wolf-Hair attributes on.
Reaching the top of the hill, Sooty leaned into his shield and looked over the fields. The rain is nice and all but it was already causing problems. The ground was becoming muddy and slippery and vision as going to be an issue as well. The prices we pay for some extra experience…~ the Guardian sighed, the pitter patter of rain on his armor shifting with the wind.
With the rain only getting worse, Sooty began to wonder if the other Adventurer would even decide to show up. The Bulletin Board was tricky like that. You put up a party request with your target and goals and just let people sign up. Of course you accept based upon characteristics that are available to you but it doesn’t remove the fact people could simply not show up. And with the storm being evident long before he put up the offer the previous day, Sooty was honestly surprised he even had one person offer to come out as well. All he could hope for was the other guy would send him a message if he decided to back out instead of just leaving him here for an hour in the rain.

my eternal solace The feeling of summer rain. It was a sensation he never had the pleasure of experiencing in his lifetime. Mother Russia brought only the harshest of weather, snow drifting onto the floor for days and hail pelting the rooftops for hours on end. It was a change in pace he was pleasantly surprised with. He breathed a sigh of relief and basked in the humidity. Though it was somewhat hard to breathe and it felt like he was sweating, the rain felt cool against his skin.
The Bulletin Board he had visited showed that his future partner was too a level one chap. Learning the ropes with another newblet would be a great learning experience for both of them. The cementing of a possible beneficial friendship and a future alliance contributed to him accepting the task. The only problem, though, was the fact that the rain made it harder to trek to their meeting point. The sloshing of the liquefied ground called for a slip at every step and the armor was starting to feel a lot heavier on his torso.
Alas, after following the vague instructions left on the post, he managed to locate a faint figure off in the distance trudging through the mud. "Finally," he muttered under his breath as he lifted his leg over a root.
Litost approached the man he was going to have to call his partner. At this point, the Russian was slightly irritated but he didn't let it reveal itself in his speech. "You are Sooty, yes?"
The bleach blonde-haired man moved his hand forward and offered a handshake. "Litost."

The guardian would have entirely missed the presence of the new Adventurer had the sound of rain on another metal surface caught his attention. Turning to greet the man, Sooty grinned, “Yeah, I’m that Sooty. Nice to meet you Litost.” The guardian grasped Litost’s hand and gave it a slight shake as a sign of acknowledgement.
“You know, I was wondering what other kinda crazy bastard I’d see out in this weather. Now that I get a good look at ya I’m not too surprised. Russian right?” Sooty inquired as he started to make his way down the hill towards the spawns for Young Pittered Board. “Not that it really matters where anyone is from anymore I suppose. I can’t see any of us getting back any time soon.” Truthfully, the guardian had little care for what may occur between this world and the other. To an extent, their homes had stagnated in his mind. In fact, nearly their entire world had stagnated. Yet here, in this world, there was something new coming out on a daily basis. A fortune could be made overnight or become a hero in a single battle. It was as though this world was on fire, something Sooty had taken a liking to in comparison to his previous life.
Sliding the last few feet through the mud to the bottom of the hill, Sooty shook his head to clear off some of the rain. “Anyway, I was planning on targeting some Frenmic Rabbits for some experience but I think we’d probably be better off going after some Young Pittered Boar. Main reason, they’re slow. If we luck out we won’t attract any full grown Boars either with the rain. Sound good to you?”
