Nothing is left at the end of the unchained me
The skies above the Windsor Greatwood fields were clear with a few stray clouds floating about. The wind was negligible and temperature seemed average, if a few degrees cold. The humidity was not muggy, leaving a dry feeling in the air, and the sunlight supplied a nice warmth and vibrant color throughout the land. Casually walking on these plains was a summoner with black, wavy hair. He was wearing a cloth jacket of white color scheme. It appeared very basic as it was only a beginner equipment. His pants were simple dark blue trousers made of the same material. This was his cloth armor. He intended to get some more customized vanity clothes to go over some minimalistic cloth armor once he learned how to be a tailor. Maybe a cloth armor shirt and shorts with vanity jacket and trousers over top. Giving a yawn, the summoner continued his stroll.
Looking around on his walk, Hyoka noted the presence of mobs around him and their levels. They were just lower level than him so he was safe enough should he should he unintentionally get into a fight. If not for the mana cost, he would keep himself company with a summon. Then he would be more prepared for impromptu combat. Covering his mouth as he yawned, he kept his head aimed downwards slightly so that his bangs covered his eyes fully. It was a habit to hide that piercing blue gaze of his since it stood out so much in contrast to his skin and hair color. Since he decided to replicate his biological features from real life, his character was almost identical to reality, save for discrepancies that couldn't be fixed via user input. Such as his teeth. He had two molars on either top side that only protruded half the length of his other teeth.
Though, not many people would care about that. Especially since it doesn't affect the limited eating in this world. With majority of foods and liquids containing little to no flavor unless hand made, he hadn't eaten some tough meat and felt his back teeth grinding away. Speaking of tough meat, he stumbled across a boar. Deciding to engage it, he pulled out his grimoire and summoned his follower, Carbuncle. That cutesy animal that reached up to his knees in height looked at him curiously, awaiting orders. Giving it a target and using basic spell shots himself, they engaged the target. With two ranged units pounding it, the boar fell after dishing out only a couple of hits to the summon which had a higher aggro rate than the summoner. With that mob defeated, Hyoka de-summoned Carbuncle and continued walking.
He had fought his fair share of boars since coming into this world. Majority of the time now, he just ground out for the necessities such as food and sleeping space, spending his spare time either exploring this fast half-gaia world or sleeping his hours away. With all the troubles out there with Player Killers and deaths, as well as the poor state of people due to the calamity, he avoided it by looking objectively at the situation and deciding that the best course of action for a summoner, incapable of protecting themselves well enough, and in consideration for the damage his own mind may take, he slept or explored in obscure places. Others have gone out a lot more often than him and raised their levels at an amazing rate. Hyoka instead increased his knowledge instead of his character level. Now it was time to start catching up.
After probably half an hour of walking, Hyoka looked up at the sky to see some black clouds moving in at a rapid speed. There was probably less than an hour until it started chucking down. With this in mind, he continued his walk and kept an eye out for somewhere to take shelter. The temperature was starting to drop as well. Hopefully, there wouldn't be any thunder and lightning. He had nothing against it, but he didn't exactly like being exposed to it. Fifteen minutes passed and the mobs around him started to shuffle away, most likely wanting to take shelter. The sky had turned dark already and the vibrant colors in nature were starting to fade into a gray scale. Still, Hyoka had yet to come across something to use as shelter. It would take too long to head back to Londinium, and waiting in the forest may be deadly if he encountered some of the higher level mobs.
As if just on cue, the rain started to pour. And it didn't start off light. The black clouds let loose heavy rain across the plains with no remorse. It wasn't the typical heavy droplets but more of a fine spread in large amounts. Standing still and looking up, Hyoka resigned himself to the fact that he wouldn't be staying dry any more. Trudging on, he did his best to see in this reduced visibility, looking into the distance for somewhere he could get out of the rain. The only thing he came across was a single tree of decent size in the middle of the field. Walking over to it, he inspected it before going under the branches. The branches were densely packed with leaves, so he was sure he would stay dry under it, at least for a duration.
Sitting down on the now damp grass under the tree, Hyoka leaned his back against the tree trunk, keeping his legs bent and propped up so that they weren't on the ground and closer to his body. Try keep the heat in. As expected, a low level character like himself was more susceptible to natures elements. It would probably take a few hours to clear up enough to make a trip back to his Inn at Londinium. His clothes were soaked and hair dripping wet, stuck to his face. Times like these, a hair tie or some hair band of some sort would come in handy. Parting his bangs, he pushed them to the side so they were no longer in his eyes.

"What a horrid day to come looking for herbs." Lavinia whispers to herself as she looks up at the sky inspecting the dark clouds coming her way. She was out looking for herbs, herbs in particular for a project she had in mind. She wanted to create a new type of potion and for that she'd need to get certain herbs to try and create it. As she walked her gaze was mostly focused on the ground, looking for these herbs, every so often she'd look up to check the dark clouds that seem to keep her dead in their sights. The attempts at gathering the herbs she needed wasn't as fruitful as she was hoping. Only finding two of the herb she needs to experiment with and the impending storm has put Lavinia in kind of a bad mood. As she walks she finds a third herb that she immediately places in her inventory which brightens her mood a bit. As she walks she hears something like a roar, that gets louder and louder and before she knows it its pouring. As it starts to pour Lavinia slides the hood of her cloak up over her head and buttons the second button so she is now almost completely covered by it. Looking around all Lavinia finds in the limited viability are a wall of rain and trees. None of the trees would provide sufficient cover from this heavy rain, so she walked and walked and walked. Luckily Lavinia designed her character with this cloak, it wasn't very resistant to the rain, but it at least kept the water from her skin for awhile. As she walked through the down pour she finally came upon a tree large enough to provide cover. As she started to jog over to the tree, she would try to find a way up into its protective canopy of leaves. However no branches would be low level for Lavinia to climb without assistance. As she slows down at the trunk of the tree Lavinia pulls out her Grimiore and places her hand on the ground beneath her feet. Summon: Golem[/b] she whispers summoning her faithful golem, she intended to use it as a ladder of sorts to get up into the tree. Despite the fact that the young man on the other side of the tree could provide the same assistance, Lavinia hasn't seen him yet however. Proceeding to climb up on top of her golem she attempts to stand on what would be its shoulders and reaches up for the lowest branch. A small jump and her left hand would have its grip on the branch followed by her right hand. Word Count: 448 Tagged: Hyōka

Nothing is left at the end of the unchained me
Hyoka wondered how long he would be sitting drenched under this tree. And also how long he already had been under the canopy. Looking up, he watched the occasional droplet fall down around him. It wasn't perfect, but it was doing the job. As long as the wind didn't blow too hard, he would be fine. Most adventurers would have warped back to town by now using Call Of Home. Hyoka's reasoning for not doing so was simple. He liked the rain. Sure, he preferred to watch it while inside, but he always left his game avatars out in the rain to do tasks, so why should he be any different. It felt nice to experience the weather anyway. After all, you couldn't escape it in reality, and not the same could be said for the game. Maybe he should invest in some waterproof clothing the next time he entered Londinium.
He had to be thankful for wearing cloth armor and not that cold metal Guardians and the such tend to wear. He would probably freeze to death before an enemy landed a hit on him in that. While he was thinking this, a sharp gust of wind blew past and caused the dense shower to fly horizontally, straight into Hyoka's face. Sighing, he watched the wind return to normal and wiped his drenched face. He imagined that was what it was like to have a bucket of water, or an elephant spray water all up your front. Just remembering something, he sniffed his clothing. No scent. Back in reality, he did his washing housework himself, including cooking. He used a lemon and mandarin scented washing liquid which stuck on his clothes well. He missed not being able to smell that any more. At that point, a small twig fell from the tree and hit him on the head.
Grabbing the stick, Hyoka looked at it. It wasn't dead, and the roots still looked strong. Did the wind blow it off? No, there were still green leaves on it so that wasn't the case. Looking up at the branch, he tried to find where it came from. With no luck, he stood up and brushed his rear end off. He had nothing else to do, so may as well be "adventurous". Looking at the base of the tree, he looked for some places to put his feet. The worst he could suffer in this world was some lowered health, so he didn't have to worry about death or injury. At least, not as much as climbing in real life. There were a few bits sticking out which he could climb. With basic footwear, especially being cloth, they had a good enough grip.
Getting to the task at hand, Hyoka shook his hands out to try get rid of as much water as he could so he wouldn't slip. There was nothing to be done for his shoes. Hugging the tree closely, he placed a foot against the base a third of his height high, then placed his opposite hand up as high as it could go. Pushing up with his placed foot, he gripped the tree bark with his raised hand, trying not to pull or push more than needed, lest the bark break and he fall. Using the opposite hand and foot, he repeated this. The closest "perching" branch was about 5 meters up. Looking as far up as he could, he noticed the size of this tree. It must have been growing for dozens of years. Losing his concentration, his footing slipped, causing him to steel his grip on the bark, but slipping off the holding the other hand had.
Pretty much grating one hand on the tree, Hyoka eventually evened himself out and reached the first large branch. Sitting with a leg on either side, he heard the rustling of leaves and unnatural yet natural movements from the other side. Similar to how his own golem sounded. Calling out a spell, he summoned Carbuncle with its yellow fur and ruby gem embedded in its forehead. With a bit of insight, he learned an outside system skill. Whispering into its ear, it nodded and prepped a skill, not using it. Doing so caused the ruby gem to start glowing, illuminating the darkened branches. With that, he asked it to jump over the branches and check who was around the other side of the tree. It was much more nimble than he was, landing a branch away from the unknown person.

Swinging body back and forth gaining momention at the right moment Lavinia uses the momentiom to swing herself up onto the branch. Laying on the branch she grunts as she swings one leg up onto the branch and then pushes herself the rest of the way to a sitting position. Lavinia was never a tree climber, she never really had much time to as a kid. She thinks she does well though. As she caught her breath she heard a russtling in the tree. She looked around, trying to find the source and found a carbuncle looking at her. The presence of the creature almost startled her out of the tree. "What the... a Carbuncle? In a tree? Where is the Summoner?" she thought as she carefully stands and begins searching the tree for the supposed Summoner. "Hello?" she said softly looking through the foliage for whoever might be in the tree. Why else would a carbuncle be in a tree? Removing her hood Lavinia reveals her face to whomever is near. Her hair looks damp from the pouring rain, the cloak and hood protected her somewhat from the rain. Seeing the edge of a white coated figure Lavinia tries to lean off to the side trying to get a better view while still holding onto a near by branch. It looked like a young man, maybe around her age, with maybe black hair it was hard to tell. "Hello?" she repeated again, "Is this your carbuncle?" she asked considering reaching out for the cute companion. While her Sylph summon is much cuter to her compared to the Carbuncle Lavinia is rather fond of the carbuncle. Deciding to reach towards the ceature, carefully, causiously but in a freindly manner so the creature would hopefully know she doesn't mean it or its master harm. Word Count: 303 Tagged: Hyōka

Nothing is left at the end of the unchained me
Hyoka leaned back, resting his body against the tree. He wasn't use to climbing and stuff. In the real world, he was about average at everything. He wasn't particularly fit, but neither was he lacking. His lack of experience is what separated him from being a fit person because he was always inside doing stuff. His wisdom and intelligence was enough to figure things out first time through, though. Looking at his hand, he graze from it sliding down earlier was stinging, but not by much. This was why he had a Carbuncle, but it wasn't exactly any system damage, only external and for the looks, similar to having clothes even though they don't particularly have parts. Or at the very least he hasn't confirmed that. Wiping it on his wet pants, he left it as is and turned his head in the direction of the light his summon was releasing.
After a short delay from his summon being sent away to the other side of the tree, a sweet voice resounded through the rain. At that point, a wet face poked around from another branch, looking at him. What struck him first among her features was her eyes. It wasn't a common feature to have both dark hair and blue eyes. Especially in his own case with black hair. Saving a few seconds, he observed her appearance in an attempt to gain some insight into the person, as per his personal routine upon meeting someone new. His judgement was that she was average, though his interest was inevitably piqued. It was the eyes. His own were currently covered by his wet, wavy hair, making it impossible to tell where he was looking. After being asked if the Carbuncle was his, he looked behind her and nodded to the girl.
As for his carbuncle, it stayed still as it was approached, backing up slightly in case it was a hostile action. Deciding it was safe, it relaxed its posture and let itself be subjected to whatever the girl was going. Hyoka didn't particularly mind at all. He treated it like a house cat at times, having it resting on his stomach and petting it from time to time. He would do it now if he wasn't soaking wet. Unlike the new appearance, the male summoner had no wet weather clothing. Looking out into the distance, he observed the weather. It was no longer the heavy shower from earlier, evolving into heavy droplets now to form a downpour of intense rain which started drowning out the sound of anything else. It would take some time for it to stop, or perhaps releasing all of the rain now would cause it to ease up faster.
In any case, Hyoka could only hope the tree would hold out long enough. Already, droplets were starting to get through the densely packed leaves and dripping here or there infrequently. A couple of drops landed on Hyoka's head and another on the carbuncle, making it shake its body as if shivering. After a little while, he unsummoned his furry creature so that it would not be subjected to this weather any longer than it had to be. Leaving it like that, he was now alone with this girl whom he did not know. So, he may as well begin with introductions. Short and to the point. He wasn't one to beat around the bush with someone he has just met. With friends, he jokes around more and is open with them, but he has yet to find anyone in Elder Tale that he can do that with.
「Hyoka. My name. Yoroshiku.」 With incomplete sentences, he stated things to the simplest while leaving some Japanese at the end. It was sort of a habit. A formality, or manners of sort for him to say that to people he was working with or partying with. In real life, he wouldn't use it in this situation, but under the game mindset, it just slipped out like it was natural. Whether or not the recipient of the message understood was a different matter. On top of that, the heavy rain was making it harder to hear. If this was in the city, it would be much louder as it strikes metallic and solid objects. With his grimoire hanging off his left hip on his belt, he was thankful that real life wear and tear didn't affect it. Reading wet pages were such a hassle. 「Not gonna use Call of Home? I can't stand the vertigo. Our avatars went through this, day in, day out.」

At first the carbuncle was reluctant to Lavinia's touch but then decides to let Lavinia pet it. Petting the carbuncle on the top of its head, Lavinia kind of wishes she chosen one for her summon, its rather cute. As she pets the creature gently the rain starts to come down through the canopy of leaves more and then the carbuncle disappears, turning her gaze back towards the other person in the tree. He introduced himself in a manner unfamiliar to Lavinia, the only thing she could think to say back is "Excuse me?" she asks. Giving the other person time to respond as the now sound deafening rain muffled even the most loudest of noises. "I'm Lavinia." she said hoping he could hear her through the rain. Lavinia didn't really like explaining why she didn't just teleport back to town. She kind of wanted to keep her task a secret, for now. Looking the person over she sees he uses a grimoire like herself, has black hair that looks very wet, he wears a white coat of some kind with a hood that Lavinia assumed should have kept the rain off him like her cloak did. Nothing is left at the end of the unchained me
Straining his ears to hear the voice of the girl, Hyoka listened to her response. Obviously, she was confused. He had only met a few people so far who were familiar with the Japanese language. He would use french, but that probably wouldn't help either. 「Nice to meet you. Think of what I said as that.」 Listening to her name, he missed part of it because of the rain. As with the human brain, he could at least fill in the blanks. Lavinia. It wasn't a very well used name. He has met a girl before with the name of Lovinia, but not someone with an 'A' in it. That was the beauty of the English Language, in a way. Not bothering to shake wet hands, he turned his head back up towards the leaves and sky above him, zoning out while listening to the sound of the rain, his eyes starting to drift. Despite being wet, he could still enjoy the sound. He should probably try get dry later, though. Don't want to suffer a sickness debuff.
Being called back to reality by a voice barely audible in the heavy rain, he adjusted his sitting position and closed the gap between the two without turning around. He just moved closer on an adjacent branch. Now turning his head, he was closer than he thought he would be, but it just made it easier for speaking. With his eyes still covered by his hair, he tilted his head as he thought of a reply. 「I'm not really doing anything. Besides grinding, there's nothing to do. Nothing interesting.」 With those true thoughts of his voiced, he looked at the girls face. The thing that struck him the most was the eye color. Similar to his own blue. There was just some fascination he had about dark colored hair combined with blue eyes. Especially if their skin was also dark colored. 「Your eyes... Are they your natural ones?」 Asking that out of curiosity, he seemed to close in to her to have a look, but kept in mind her personal space.
With his wavy hair wet and stuck to his face, it was a bit hard to see through. As such, he used a hand to part his hair enough to let one eye show, to get a better look. He usually took care not to show his eyes to people, but when he was fascinated, he didn't mind. That personality of his that adjusted to the people around him while staying mysteriously separate from everyone. The only times he really decided to involve himself was when he was interested, curious, or fascinated. Backing his face away, he ran his fingers through his hair. It didn't take long for the wet locks to fall back on his face. He didn't mind it though. He would sometimes tie up the back of his hair in reality, but there really was no need to follow his real world habits here. At least not all of them. 「The rain. Doesn't seem like it'll stop.」
