doesn't it feel like we're falling ❝ Perhaps he should have thought things through a bit better. Pacing the court yard of the Abbey, Balore couldn't remain still to save his life. Normally he could stare dangerous monsters in the face and not flinch but today he was having trouble with his courage. It took several days for him to finally become aware of the undertones and he had to make up his mind about it. He never had to face this sort of situation back in the real world as it never came up. Here in Elder Tale, however, it seemed that he was quite well liked and it happened rather quickly with the people he met. He couldn't complain about that but at the same time it was overwhelming. ' Just don't say anything weird.' he told himself as he came to a halt randomly. Putting his hands on the back of his head he would look up to the sky and let out a sharp sigh. He was really going to do this, wasn't he? This was probably more terrifying to him than facing down a swarm of giant spider monsters. That thought alone almost made him go green just visualizing it. ' I'm probably just making a big deal out of nothing.' he thought as he watched adventurers pass by or come out of the cathedral. There was supposedly a wedding that happened here and it made him think about how people were adjusting to this realm. Opening his friends list he scrolled down over Kitty's name and thumbed the telepathy. " Hey Kitty, I'm waiting by the Abbey when you're free. I'll be by the garden to the right of the steps." he said waiting to see what her response would be. He could only imagine all of things going through her mind as well. If someone had said what he said to her he might have taken it the wrong way. Now that he thought about it the way he said it might have mirrored that of someone who was annoyed with something. He sighed softly, of course he had not meant it to sound that way at all but sometimes he was an idiot. Word Count: 361 Tagged: kittygreyus the gods with broken wings

Ame felt sick. Not sick in the way where she was coughing, or sniffling, but she felt nervous. She was supposed to meet with Balore to discuss her foolish actions when they had been at the parliament building. She couldn't really understand why she had been acting like a bumbling idiot, but she felt that he brought out a side of her that she hadn't been aware of and a flirty one at that. She sighed lightly as she strolled through the town. She looked around the place and thought back to when she had first arrived here. The town had been in complete chaos, fights everywhere, yelling and screaming, but looking around now, she saw calm. Everyone had clearly adjusted to this new world, but had she? She had noticed herself change upon arrival here, she too had felt chaos in her mind, though she remained collective about it and tried to hide her worry, but since being here, she had met so many different people, had even attended a wedding. At first, she thought the scene was strange, she didn't understand the concept of people finding love within a game, until feelings of her own began to stir.
She had never been the sort to show affection to other people, especially men, in the real world. She had been in only one relationship, if you could have even called it that and even then, she hadn't experienced what a real couple should be like. It was the sight of her parents that gave her the image of what it was like to feel love. They did everything together. It was like they were inseparable, no, they were inseparable, except for when they had to work. They were always smiling, and hugging one another. When she had first met them, she had thought that love was something that was made up, but she saw something different in them. She didn't know if that's what it was for her, but she knew one thing, she did really, really like Balore. The thought itself made her cheeks flush pink and butterflies circle around in her stomach. She shook her head, making the thought go away. She didn't want to get her hopes up, because in all honesty, she wasn't expecting to be hurt, but even if he didn't feel that way for her, she would still remain his friend, after all, he was more than a crush, he was her leader.
The tone in her head made her jump slightly as she heard Balore's voice echo in her head. 'The abbey? That's where the wedding was.' She felt her cheeks flush again. She surveyed the spot in which she was standing and found that she was literally around the corner. She felt a tilt of her head as she looked over in the direction that it stood. 'Well, that's convenient.' She felt her feet pick up their pace as she walked quickly in that direction. Would he think it was weird that she didn't speak back and just randomly appeared out of no where, but she shook her head and just continued on. Coming up to the cathedral, she saw the steps. She walked up to the garden, breathing heavily, and then turned around and quickly hid behind a wall. She sighed and hung her head. 'Okay Ame, calm, cool and collective. Just stay calm.. cool.. collective.' She felt like she wanted to run, pick up her heels and run as fast as she could, but with one last breath she headed back to the garden. She saw Balore there, standing in the garden. She felt her heart skip a few beats as she watched him for a short time. He seemed nervous too. She hoped he wasn't going to tell her she couldn't be in the guild, that would break her heart more than just being rejected. A few moments later she would walk more towards him and raise her hand, calling out lightly, "uhm, hey, Balore!" She would give him a dashing smile and simply say, "what's up?"

doesn't it feel like we're falling ❝ it didn't take long for her to show up at all, she must have been waiting somewhere nearby he reasoned. As he watched her walk towards where he was standing he tried to figure out how to open. That was always the worst part of any conversation now, wasn't it? Once it was started it was easy to have since the cat was out of the bag. Rather than the blank pensive gaze he wore only moments before, Balore's expression turned into a bright grin. He could tall that she was having an inner struggle herself which made him all the more sure about what he thought he was seeing. Given that she kept having a slip of the tongue or she was watching him longer than anyone else would have been. " Hey, Kitty. Glad you decided to come." he said with a wave. Not that he didn't think she would, on the contrary he would have been surprised otherwise. Still he was glad she was here as it was just as hard for him as it most likely was for her to say what was about to be said. " Uhm," he started, realizing he sounded dumb opening with an uhm. His mother used to call it a case of the uhms and it meant that he was either really embarassed or unsure of himself. No time for other world memories he told himself as he tried to stay here in the present. " It's not exactly easy for me to say this so bare with me here, alright?" he asked as he chuckled. " I've just noticed some things. The way you seem to always become flustered when I look in your direction. Sometimes you say odd things which are usually quite funny I might add." he began as he shifted his stance somewhat. The next part was the hard part, more like mission impossible. Was it cool to just come right out and ask her that?! Hm, he supposed that was how it was done. If only he could recall what he was taught to do in this situation. ' You're just dragging this out.' he thought to himself as he crossed his arms over his chest now. " Well, what I'm asking is.. do you want to maybe go.. on a date sometime?" he said. Once it was out there was no way to pull it back. It was like an instant feeling of dread once what he asked resounded in his mind and echoed. Now the towering man in steel armor was more vulnerable than any of his group mates. He hated the feeling to be honest but he couldn't hide himself behind his armor forever, could he? ' Not my best plan but we did it.' he thought to himself. Word Count: 460 us the gods with broken wings

Ame just continued to smile as he told her that he was glad she had come, was he thinking she wouldn't? He clearly didn't know her well enough, yet. She felt herself let out a small giggle as he started of with saying 'uhm.' She had felt the same way, she thought. Almost like the only thing that could escape her lips were things that made her sound like a complete idiot, she really was just a bubbling fool on the inside as well, though, finding it hard to keep her words straight sometimes. Her mind still raced with thoughts of what he would say to her, what he was thinking. She already knew what she was thinking, but she felt afraid, nervous, so much that her tail began to tuck itself between her legs. As he began to speak, she felt her face flush and she found herself pointing her two index fingers in at one another. Her eyes had shifted to the left and her tail was now pretty much completely frontal. She thought how it was good that she could so easily hid her emotions, she was being sarcastic. The damn tail pretty much gave her whole self away and her ears were starting to drop.
She felt her eyes wander back up to him, he looked like he was thinking hard, and she wondered what came next. She, like any rational, or not so rational, woman, thought the worse. 'He doesn't like it. I just annoy him. He's going to say-' Her thoughts were cut off as he continued to speak She felt her heart pang as he slowly got to the point of his question and she waited, anticipating what he was going to say. She wanted to shut her eyes, perhaps to ease the pain of being rejected, but she kept them open and tried her best to not look upset, but her eyes widened. She stood there for a moment, her hands dropped down, as did her tail and her mouth. Slowly, she felt her dropped mouth curve into a smile on her left, then it reached her right side. She grinned widely at him and her eyes beamed with happiness. Her tail was whipping from one side to the other and her ears had perked up fully, in fact, they couldn't perk up anymore without popping themselves of, or so she thought. So, her worst fears had quickly become a dream come true and she did what any rational person, or irrational, person would do.
She jumped on him. Her arms stretched out and only closed when they met atop his broad shoulders. She could feel the racing of a heart pounding against her chest, but, was it hers, or was it his. Really, she couldn't tell, but hers was definitely racing. She kicked her feet up and gave a small giggle, before letting herself go as she dropped to the ground again. She took a few steps back and, blushing, took one of her heads to the back of her head. She smiled shyly and shifted her gaze to the ground. "Oh, uhm, sorry." She giggled again and then nodded her head in response to his question. She looked back up and just to be clear, said, "I'd love too!" Well, she felt as though this could have been the best day of her life, but then she mentally shook her head. Nope, it would probably be when their date did happen. "Uhm, did you have any ideas of where, or, when?" She was in no rush, but she had wanted to make a suggestion. Again, she mentally shook her head. It was only right for the man to choose, right? He might have already had something in mind, so she would wait to hear what he said.

doesn't it feel like we're falling ❝ In his head he cursed rather loudly, of course that was going to happen. The one thing about girls that often confused him when he spoke to them was that they giggled randomly. Did that mean they liked you or did it mean they knew what you were going to ask but were humoring it anyway? He had never quite figured this out and so he sort of never bothered to try at times. There was a leak in his self confidence it seemed at times, but he tried his best to boost himself up to get through things like this. There was that long silence after he stopped speaking that left you shaking and then she started to smile. Was that a good sign or a bad sign? He had to wonder as he was not entirely sure of her habits just yet. Judging from how nice she seemed it was probably a good thing she smiled rather than giggling again. Man, he didn't even feel this conflicted when he thought about going home, such a strange thing the human mind was. With a sigh of relief to him however she agreed to go out on a date with him. So he wasn't reading into it more than he should have been. If she hadn't agreed he could see things getting real awkward real fast in the trio that had formed. Scratching his head, Balore smiled and let loose a nervous laugh. " Actually, I had only gotten as far as the courage to ask can you believe it?" he said with a smirk. Honestly it shouldn't be that hard for him to come up with something. There were plenty of places that the two of them could go perhaps, though maybe not here in Londinium. There was however the Thames Coastline that had recently been rediscovered, a decent place to go he imagined. Or would she think he was only interested in seeing her in swim wear?! Oh man, the endless amount of ways he could think of negative outcomes was staggering. " Uhm, couple days so I can plan it. In the afternoon, two days from now. I was thinking maybe of heading down to the Thames Coastline. It's been a while since I've gone swimming and that sounds like fun to me." he said with a smile. Remembering that he probably made her think otherwise with the way he was acting, he decided to apologize for that. " I'm also really sorry for the way I may have come across earlier. I've been rather confused lately and tend to come across as stern or upset." he said. Yeah, he was aware that his tone of voice didn't always assist in helping him show how he felt. Ame tilted her head at his nervous laugh, but she smiled warmly, feeling her hands meet behind her back, just under her tail. She could feel it moving swiftly, back and forth as she stood, listening to him, watching him. She hoped that she didn't seem like a creep or anything, but she felt as though she couldn't help it. She wanted to stare at him more, and now, she would have her chance. She let out a small giggle at his question and wanted to answer by saying that that was probably like most men, but, she really didn't have the experience in these kinds of matters to even really know. She knew he was thinking though, she could see it in his eyes. Was he pondering their date spot. 'My.. my first real date..' The thought made her blush hard as her cheeks and her forehead turned to a warm pink. Her heart was pounding against her chest and her stomach was a flurry of butterflies. She breathed softly, trying to keep herself calm, she didn't want to scare him away with her fan girl antics, though, if she was going to scare him away, she probably would have already done that with her actions before. She knew she would have to apologize, and as she opened her mouth to do so, she shut it quickly as Balore spoke.
The Thames Coastline... She hadn't yet been there, but it was a new area so, she felt as though that would be a good spot. Swimming?! That was even better! She smiled widely and her eyes glistened with excitement. "Believe it or not, but I'm a natural water baby. I love to swim!" She felt her anticipation wash over her body as her tail swung fiercely from side to side. It seemed to mirror her excitement at the word 'swimming.' She hadn't thought it possible to be able to spend a day at the beach in this world, but with his suggestion it seemed it was. But then she would have to get a bathing suit. 'A.. bathing suit..." She looked down at her bust and then back up, shifting her gaze to the left as she let her face flush with bright pink. 'Could that mean..' She shifted her gaze back to Balore again, her face going a slight red color, but it wasn't anger that was showing through, it was embarrassment. 'He wants to see me.. in a bathing suit?!' She wanted to shake the thought out of her head, but she figured he might take that as turning down his offer, and in all truth, she wanted to go, badly. For some reason, she wanted him to see her like that.
Before her thoughts could become too deep, he spoke again, this time apologizing to her for his the way he had acted, his tone towards her. She felt her head shake at that moment and she took her hands away from her back and shook them in a way. "No no no, please, don't apologize! I-" She felt her gaze drop to the ground as she continued. "I'm the one that should be apologizing. I don't know why I've been acting the way I have. I suppose, I was a little confused as well. I have no experience in things like this and, I let myself get out of hand, so, I'm sorry." She looked back at him, her head tilted slightly to the side, her cheeks still flushed and her hands against her chest. She tightened her lips together, but then felt her tongue slip out and lick the dryness of her mouth away. She sighed lightly and said, "you, seem to do something to me that I don't even know how to react to.." Her tone was nervous as she carefully chose her words. She felt her tail wrap around her leg, showing exactly how nervous she was to say something like that. She brought her hand up over her head again and the looked to the ground. "Uhm, anyways, as a thank you, I'll make us something to eat while we're there, so, you don't have to worry about anything like that." Nervousness gone, she looked up to him with a smile. Talking about food seemed to save the day, in her case anyways.

doesn't it feel like we're falling ❝ That infernal giggling! There needed to be a translator for it. Of course he promised himself not to let his mind be tricked by it. If anyone heard his inner thoughts they might find him to be quite funny or pretty dumb when it comes to figuring out girls body language. Hmm, yeah, right now he was sure that he said something right but that was luck he was sure of it. There was no way he was managing this by skill or knowing what to do. It was then that he noticed that he had cut her off. " I'm sorry, if you had something to add, by all means." he said with a sweeping gesture of his arm. It was sort of silly, his gestures, they were purely habit from being a role-player. Even the fact that at times he bowed to people and swore oaths when he took on quests. He was the good sort of weird, the kind that was interesting but you had no worries he was going to harm you. Giving her a moment to potentially speak, he moved on. He was actually glad to hear that she was fond of water, it meant that he made a good call. ' 1-0 for now.' he thought to himself as he crossed his arms over his chest. Suddenly like that he remembered the biggest flaw in his plan that he had spaced until now; he couldn't swim! What a brilliant thing to do to yourself, take a girl for a beach date without actually being able to properly swim. ' Wow, I'm such a melon.' he thought to himself as he shook his head. Meanwhile she was still talking as he had this internal dialogue with himself. Now he was going to seem like he had intentionally manuevered himself into the situation which could be mega perverted. Hmm, yeah this was going to get interesting really quickly. " Eh, don't worry about it. Honestly this is not my area of expertise. I didn't even know what was happening until this afternoon." he said raising his hands in a shrug. He decided that honesty was the best policy and honestly he was an imbecile. " I guess I just have more confidence in this world. People react to someone who knows what they want and how they're going to get it." he said with a smile. Or maybe he had a big ego, one of the two, but he hoped it didn't come across as concieted. " That sounds wonderful, if that is alright? I don't mind spending some of my gold and making it easier on you. That way you don't tire yourself out before hand." he said with a sheepish grin. Word Count: 450us the gods with broken wings

Ame shook her head to his statement. What she had wanted to say, she would say afterwards. She instead, began to think of what she would need for their date. Her first order of business, was to find a bathing suit! She was sure that one of the Lander's could make one in a tailor shop. She didn't need anything extravagant, but, she also wanted something cute so that he would think that she looked good, not that it really mattered, but, her feminie side was yelling at her, telling her that it did. It would be her first real date, after all, and though she was sure she had already imprinted an image of her in his mind, she still wanted to make a better one. This whole date thing would define what the two truly were to each other. If he didn't like her, she didn't stand a chance with him, but if he did, she might actually have a boyfriend by the end of it. She hoped for the second option, but she still had a lot of waiting to do before that would be decided.
She felt her head tilt as she looked up at him. Could he mean the way she had been acting? He didn't know that she was showing him that she liked him? She didn't know exactly what he meant, but she was sure that that was probably it. She hadn't been very blunt about her feelings and she would admit to being subtle with a few hints here and there, but, she didn't know how else to respond to him. Her talk with Lavinia had been her eye opener, and she knew that she would have to tell him because she didn't want to risk some other pretty girl coming into the picture and stealing him away without her even getting a chance, but he had been the one to confront her. She appreciated his brave actions in the matter and it made her happy that he had done so, though she was planning on telling him anyways. She probably wouldn't have been half as smooth as he was being though.
"I feel the same, being more confident in this world. Let's face it, I probably never would have flirted with you if it weren't for that." She raised her brow at his next words and smiled with a small giggle. "So I guess that means you know how you're going to get me?" Her eyes widened at her own words and she felt her cheeks line with a pink flush. All of a sudden she felt very hot. "Uh.. uhm.. I just mean.." Ah to hell with it, there was no excuse for what she just said. "That's probably not what you meant, but part of me wishes it was." She shook her head and let out an awkward laugh. 'Are you ever going to stop making a fool out of yourself?' She mentally shook her head in response. Probably not. Then she looked up at him again and shook her head. "No, it's okay, I don't mind. Next time, you can treat me instead." She followed his sheepish grin with a sheepish grin of her own.
"Not that I want to, but I should go. We have some preparations to do for the event coming up and I have some preparations to do for our.. date.." She wanted to cheer with excitement, but that would have to wait until she was alone. "I'm really excited, I hope you know." She put up her hand in a wave, and said, "see you around, Balore." She gave him a wink and her sweet smile and turned away from him, before he could see her entire face turn red. She walked away smoothly, but when she knew she was out of his sights, she giddily skipped along the street, all the way to the market, her wide smile implanted on her face.

doesn't it feel like we're falling ❝ It brought a smile to his face to know that he was not the only one who thought like he did. He was not strange for feeling like in this world of new and endless possibilities he could be someone. Confidence in a strange place was hard to come by but it seemed the both of them had it. Perhaps forming this guild would be for the best afterall, they could share this with other new adventurers out there who had no idea what to do. With that in mind he considered who he would make his second in command as all guilds had to have one. He really hoped they could help people the way he wanted, the way he saw his vision in his head. Since the worst was over now he decided to put on a brave face for once. There was a tiny smirk on his face as he nodded his head in reply. " Oh, I have something in mind, yes." to her question about knowing how to get her. Of course he was still working on the details of the plan- he had maybe twenty percent of one formed already but no ideas for the rest of it. ' You see it on the telly all the time, how hard can it be?' he asked himself. It was funny how like him she was with her courage. It made him feel like he had to become braver than ever before so that she didn't have to be. That thought sort of baffled him though as it almost came out of nowhere all of a sudden. " This world has done wonders for some I guess. Honestly, as strange as it sounds.. I don't want to go home." he said. This was the first time he had said it aloud. Perhaps that was a conversation for another time though. " Next time for sure, I'll think of somewhere to go." he said. There was a smile as she mentioned preparations for the event and mentioned she needed to be off. Nodding his head, he waved at her. " Alright. I guess I should be doing the same then. Can't have the two of you getting ahead of me." he said with a grin. Of course it seemed that he would have his work cut out for him as both Lav and Kitty were driven. " Take care, Kitty." he said.
