JIMTHEKING UNAFFILIATED enchanter 1 scholar 1 brewer 1 | 100% HP 100% MP 100% ST |
The Isle of Grain. Golden fields of wheat, barley, hops, everything a brewer could ever hope for, as far as the eye could see. Jim had decided it was time to increase his brewer level, mostly because of the amount of pure disgust he had felt when he taste the current alcohol. It was plain, tasteless, and quite frankly, an embarrassment to alcohol. So, Jim decided it was time to change that. He had learnt quite a large amount about alcohol back in the real world, which was something that had influenced his decision to take the mostly useless brewer as his crafting class. However, with a bit of ingenuity, he believe he could create a useful out of this.
He had decided to start at the bottom. If there was something he had to learn, it was how to make the worst before he could make the best. He let out a sigh, and opened up the crafting menu. Brewer, being one of the more unpopular classes, had quite a small amount of possible things to craft, and while that meant he would be able to learn them all quite easily, it also meant that it would take plenty of work for him to create any spirits, liqueurs, fortified wines, or any other types of alcohol really. A sigh escaped his body, as his finger hovered above the Unfounded Liquor option.
He tapped it, a hint of resignation in the movement, as the ingredient menu appeared. He had everything he needed already, and could make it through the menu, but he wouldn't learn anything from that. Instead, he walked over to the closest distillery, and opened up the ingredients list again.
Unfounded Liquor
Ingredients:
2 Stale Liquors
1 Common Beverage
Instructions:
Mix Stale Liquors and Common Beverage. Heat gently while fermenting. Allow cooling time.
Jim let out a small groan when he finished reading this. Really? Something this basic? He shook his head, and began working. He took the two bottles of Stale Liquors out of his inventory opening the cap and giving them a sniff, recoiling slightly at the smell. It was certainly a very potent smell, though he couldn't really tell why. It was a potent smell of off... nothing, really. He couldn't find the words to describe it, and was thoroughly disturbed. His eyebrows furrowed as he hesitantly poured them into the mixing vat, filling it up two thirds of the way.
Next was the Common Beverage. He took this bottle out, and upon opening this, was hit by a sickly sweet smell, one that he thought would not mix well with anything, let alone the off smelling Stale Liquors. He shrugged, wanting to get this disgusting alcohol over with, and poured the bottle in, filling up the mixing vat. A stirring handle materialized, and he quickly grabbed it, the vat already starting to heat up. He started to gently stir, the mixture slowly forming into the alcohol that would eventually be tipped out anyway.
After an acceptable amount of time had passed, he let go of the handle, the vat turning off and cooling down, most of the liquid burned off so the only remnant was the alcoholic substance that was Unfounded Liquor. He took it out, the liquid automatically turning into a bottle in his inventory. He uncorked it, and gave it a whiff, not surprised at the complete lack of smell. With a disgusted look on his face, he drank some of the liquid, and instantly spat it out.
Success!
It tasted exactly like nothing, but was somehow disgusting at the same time, just like the Unfounded Alcohol you could purchase. from the Landers. A disgusting step, but the first step on Jims journey to master the brewer class.
INVENTORY
EQUIPMENT:Starter Cloth Armor: A basic set of cloth armor made from cheap fabric. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it.
Apprentice Grimoire: A one-handed apprentice’s book of spells designed for novice mages, made out of cheap materials. Doesn’t particularly have too many pages, but it is better than nothing. If used by a magic class, you get the ability to shoot a basic magic attack with a range of 2 meters.
