{Nail heading tool} Glius had been reading his metalworking notes about while trying to create nails for the adventurers as well as the landers. The first step to successfully creating nails is shown in this book was to know the fundamentals of creating a nail - To make a wrought-iron nail Glius would need to have the iron ore heated with carbon (to create wrought iron) and then he would hammer it shaping them into square rods.
- To make a nail, Glius only would need to heat the rod in a forge and taper the end of the bar while keeping the cross section square.
- Glius would cut off the taper, and insert it into a nail heading tool with a square hole which surprisingly wasn't very advanced. The top of the taper would be hammered downward (upset) to create a head.
Glius was very excited about this and thought this would be quite simple and started to gather all the ingredients and tools needed to make the nails. Once he had gathered the all the components, he would only need someone to use them, Hopefully a tailor who could use them to do something, even a woodworker who was building a house or even some furniture would need nails. (OOC: You may want to ask a mod to move this to Sarum... >.>) Finally here! Sarum was finally going to become a city, and who better to sponser the creation of the city than Aeryn, Londinium’s richest guild? Well… 90% of the wealth was in his wife’s pocket and 8 % was in his own pocket, but regardless, as the top sponsor guild of building Sarum from the ground up. Not only were they one of the most active guilds in making Sarum a safe area, they were also the guild that knew the land like the back of their hand. Thankfully, the main expeditionary camp was still intact and a few people that were traders had kept it built and tidy. As he arrived, he was given a warm welcome. Ryuu was trying to realize the dream of extending Londinium’s influence. As he shook several Landers’ hands, he brought his wagon around to his usual workstation. He noticed that there was a blacksmith already here. His advertisement to Londinium seemed to be successful in bringing about several crafters to help and aid the building of the city. He looked at his guides and asked if he knew the crafter. “He arrived a few hours ago. His name is Glius Umfli. You may be able to get along with him. He’s like you… an assassin,” Ryuu smirked but shoved his guide gently. “Don’t expect much… most other assassins typically stay away from me… Apparently I’m intimidating, and yet I haven’t even done anything to most people… only if they annoy me enough do I show a bit of force, but even then, I’m pretty docile….” he said trailing off. He sighed. “Anyways, I should get to work… and maybe introduce myself,” he said as he waved off his guide. He approached his usual stall which also had an anvil and furnace (for his wife). The stall was off limits to everyone but the pair, since they had reserved it indefinitely. He placed his equipment and his materials in the stall and then went over to the other blacksmith who was already hard at work. “Hey there, thanks for answering my call to help build Sarum. My name is Kumori and I am the guild master of Aeryn and the sponsor of the building of Sarum. I can’t tell you how ecstatic the merchants and people will be when we are able to finish this place up. Hopefully we’ll be able to work well together, but again, thanks for coming to help out. We need any and every crafter we can get. Most people see it as a tedious job, but to be honest, it’s probably one of the most important jobs right now. People need equipment, no matter how high their main class is. People need shelter and so on and so forth. Crafters are pretty much the foundation of Londinium, so don’t think you’re wasting your time here. Any and all crafts are useful… we just need to find a place for everything made,” he said with a smile. “I’ll be over in my stall across the way… feel free to come by into my stall for any materials or advice. My wife’s a blacksmith, so I know a bit about it from observation,” he said. He turned back around and went back to his stall to start working on beddings for people that were still camped here so that they had better sleeping arrangements than what they had now.
