A lack of active Scribes

While searching for a scribe to make me a new Grimoire I realized that, there aren't any above or close to level 8. After some searching I could only find one scribe who could make me one, however she has been inactive for sometime. This got me thinking, why can you find blacksmiths on every corner? I can only guess it's because of the majority of the players being melee. But then this really isn't the point. There are very few useful items a scribe can produce. They can make Grimoires, normal maps, the 3d maps, and the highly situational contracts. I talked to Hirosame and Tobin about this and they both agreed that scribes really don't have anything to make. I ran some ideas by Hiro but they were all shot down because they are to close to the Sigilmaker's territory. I'm going to quote Tobin because he said it best and I think it's the problem.

Now that I think about it, it's a pretty good reason why no one wants it. I mean, I guess why play as a class when noth Artisian and Sigilmaker take many of the best parts., since those two together allow you to do much much more then scribes. Even indivudally, artisian can do much more then a scribe.


Theres two options really.

1) Give it powers of a signell maker. Or just plainly give it a bit more practical functionaltiy
2) Remove the Need for a scribe entirely and roll it into artisian to give them more to do. Since crafting classes at the very least need to have as much functionality as one another.

I don't even think Scribe is the least common crafting class, but a class is only as good as its players.

In general, most people on the RP focused most of their AP on their main class, leaving their subclasses lacking. If you look at all the crafting classes and not just a single one, you'll find that there aren't too many high level crafters in general. But now that the crafting level restriction is gone, people will start to catch up. But especially with high level players on the forum, it's easy to overlook the less popular ones.

Also keep in mind that Sigilmaker is a roleplay subclass. While it has its role in RP, it lacks the flexibility of research to evolve. I recommend for those aiming to improve Scribe (or any other class for that matter) to train it up. The more dedicated and higher leveled you are, the better we'll be able to accommodate you.
