Alice awaited within the crafting section of town, where dozens of other players would hang around and work on their crafts. Having their crafting workshops so close together they'll be able to lend or trade materials to others so that it'd be easier to create other items and equipment. Alice on the other hand was just watching. She's never crafted since she's arrived in the game, she choose blacksmithing because she thought having a physical weapon for close combat would help her balance out her magic damage output, especially for monsters that weren't effected by magic attacks.
By the looks of things, most of the blacksmiths had everything that they require to actually craft. She lifted her hand onto her chin to ponder in thought as to what to craft for her first try, she wanted to do something easy but something that could be improved further when using better materials, or even create variations to suite the needs of those using them. She continued to walk forward through the crafting district, watched as other blacksmiths hammered iron and steel to sharp points or jagged edges.
She wanted to make something small to save, the money she has saved up to possibly have someone craft something for herself. Or maybe just stock up on potions for future quests. Suddenly a group of players started to walk through the same path she was, where one of which held a bundle of arrows on their back with a bow strapped to the back of their waist. She assumed that they were a assassin, since bows are great for silent long ranged attacks. She pondered the thought of arrows. Maybe crafting stronger arrow heads would work. Were smiths can craft the stronger arrow heads and woodcrafters can fletch up some stronger arrows with the arrowheads as a material.
A smile on her face and eager to get to work she went to look for an abandoned workshop.

On her round about searching for a place to start working on the arrow heads, she purchased an arrow from another player to see how the original arrowhead was crafted and how it could be better or upgraded to a higher grade of iron or steel. She swatted the arrow around in one hand as she looked around the area. Coming across a lone hearth with an anvil resting beside it, she assumed that someone else was using it but as they say "Move your feet, lose your seat." fortunately there wasn't anyone around so as long as she's done before anyone returns everything should be fine. Pulling up a chair beside the anvil, she laid the arrow upon it. She grabbed a tong to hold the arrowhead itself down, she held the arrow in her other hand and removed them from each other. There was a hole on the bottom of the arrowhead that held the arrowhead in place and the sides of the arrowhead wasn't that sharp, it was enough to pierce through flesh, cloth and maybe leather but if stronger armors or defenses were to block these, it'd have no trouble to, especially without much of a disadvantage.
So the first thing she'd want to do, is have the arrowhead to be sharper with a finer point to pierce through enemies, that shouldn't be to hard for any beginner blacksmith to do if they are working off the original arrowhead. Alice had purchased a single unrefined metal before hand since she was sure that she wanted to make something, not sure of what of course, but since she picked something like finer arrowheads, she might not be wasting that much then she thought.
First things first was to smelt the unrefined metal into smaller portions to craft single arrow heads and for multiple tries. Since this is her first time she wasn't expecting anything happening on the first try. She'd watch as the heated portions of the metal would burn a bright orange as it took a more liquid form. She lifted it over a iron plate, so she would be able to mold them more easily. Putting them in twelve different portions for twelve tries. She picked up one of them with the tong before placing it within the water to quickly cool down the metal before putting it upon the anvil. She didn't really have an idea on how to craft metal so she placed the original arrow head beside her for reference. Taking her hammer and holding her tong tightly she begun to hammer away at the piece of metal.
A few moments of hammering she lifted up what looked to be a crude cubical shape of metal, looked nothing like a arrow head, let alone anything with a point. She put her hand onto her chin as she pondered on how this was done.

Her leg would swing back and forth as she continued to ponder the though of the crafting process, she was told that doing it yourself also betters the process rather then allowing the interface to do the work. Though she was pretty tempted to press that button, the purpose of this was to actually try out the crafting process. Being a black smith, she thought it was the best choice for her preferences for this character, but she might change it in the long run. She stared at the piece of metal for a bit before throwing it into the flames , wondering if it would smelt back into a mold-able substance to retry. As it slowly roasted in the flames, she grabbed another piece from the plate that was placed on top of the flames to keep them from cooling down from the air itself. This time she started to bang on it while it was still roasting hot, that some of the burning portions were still orange. This helped it form a smoother surface as she started to hammer away at the piece of metal.
When she had gotten the shape she wanted she threw the burning piece of metal into the water to let it cool down and harden. Pulling it out of the water, she noticed that it had made the shape she more or less wanted. It was more coned with a sharper point. The next portion she's going to need is making it more slim with sharper edges as well as the point, almost triangle shaped. She wiped off her forehead from the sweat that started to produce from all the heat the fire and how long she's been working there. She rolled up her sleeves up to her elbows before she posed herself, lifting her arms up and showed off her muscles, as she puffed her cheeks.
Letting out a large sigh before got back into her chair to get back to work, she grabbed her tong and hammer before choosing another piece of metal to smith. She placed the just made copy of the arrowhead beside the original to see how much she's improved. She already knows what to do, for the most part she's learned on how to do things but she just needs to do them better. As she grabbed another piece off the plate and instead of picking it up with a tong, she stuck a metal pipe through the bottom. She placed the piece on the anvil, near the edge so she can hammer it down with more control on both sides, as well hammer them more near the edges to make the sharper. She threw it into the bucket of water before she would have messed up in anyway. She found the grinder beside the smelter. She brought it closer to make it easier for herself to craft. The grinder was to sharpen weapons to be able to cut through things much more efficiently, and sharpening the arrowheads would better them greatly. The grinder was pretty basic, it needed a foot pedal for it to work, it reminded her of sewing back in her younger years as a child, when she was put into a sewing class, the only difference was that she just had to push the metal against the grinder itself to sharpen the edges.

In a chibi form of her former self, she held the arrow head above her head in praise as the arrow head begun to shimmer intensively that it'd blind anyone in the premises. Her face flushed with confidence that this was her final test, she pricked her index finger to make sure that it was sharp enough to cut through flesh. She put it against the other two both the original and the previous arrow head that she made herself. The difference was undeniable, the original arrow head was much more dull, even the color was dull. She was pretty alright with how the second came out but again it was only to start working on the final verse of the arrowhead. She was kinda speechless when she recalled the very first try, looking at the side of her eyes toward the fire, the piece of metal was burning hot that it was entirely yellow. She sighed at the sight but what could she do. She looked back at the rest of the portions from the unrefined metal and they looked pretty large for the end out come, looking back at the finished arrow head it was pretty small, it could fit on two and a half of her fingers but then again her hands were quite small. She surmised that one unrefined metal can produce ten arrowheads, that's of course if they do it correctly, one should be enough.
She went out of the way to finish up the rest of the unrefined metals and crafted the rest of the arrowheads, some of them were slightly misshapen but without the money to purchase a mold she couldn't mass produce the arrowheads and help make them without having to hammer away at the individual pieces and only have to sharpen them. She might have to come back to this project in the future once she has appropriate funds for such a large project, but then again she knew that would be a problem to face in due time. For now she's finished her first craft since entering the game, it was pretty fun in her honest opinion, being a blacksmith must be a hard job in the real world and she's kinda proud that she was able to be apart of it. With that she cleaned up the smithing area as best she could before sneaking away to craft another day.
