"Kofuna Shizen Ryu: Samidare!" Steel shouted before slashing up the remaining health points of a slime he had been fighting with a sword technique drilled into him from childhood with a dual wielding twist to it. After the slime had broken apart into the many bubble looking anima fragments, Steel sheathed his two swords which he had gotten as starter weapons into their sheathes on his back. "Man, I need to get some better weapons. I'd probably prefer some with a little more weight." He said to himself as he looked back on his current weapons. While they have been serving him well, he would need to get better weapons as he levels up and fights more powerful monsters. "Ah well, might as well keep going." He then started running off into the depths of the forest, wanting to find more monsters to fight so he could level up. After a few minutes, he found himself in a denser part of the forest, which made it hard to see what was farther ahead. Hopefully, I won't get lost. Steel thought to himself before turning the corner. Right when he did so, he crashed into a girl who was running as well, making the two of them land on their butts. "Sorry about that, you okay? Geez, you gotta look where you're going." He said to the girl still using his slightly distant and cold tone normally used towards people he didn't know. OOC: If you want, you can write what you were doing before the crash too. Kaytina

Kay was knocked back by something, she was dazed. She shook her head and looked over at the idiot who knocked her over. She wasn't expecting to find anyone actually out here. She rolled onto her back, brought her hands up beside her head, brought her legs up, and in one smooth motion she lifted up off the ground and onto her feet with a kip up. As soon as she was on her feet, she reached to her waist and pulled her black karambits out of their sheaths by the ring, then held them in a reverse grip. She had heard what he said, blaming this run in on her. "Oi! You watch where you're going! Wandering about like a drunkard. You're lucky you ran into me and not someone who would want to kill you, though keep running your mouth and you'll push me." She was overreacting, which is her style. She wasn't going to apologise, though. It was not her fault, even if it was just a non-issue any more.
She had to think for a bit. During the spill, she forgot exactly why she was running through this forest to begin with. Did she really have a reason to begin with? As long as this guy she ran into didn't pull out his weapons in response to her taking out hers, she would simply put the knives back in their sheaths on her waist. If he did, well, he would have made himself out to be a threat. Regardless of what she said, she really didn't want to fight if she could avoid it, especially with a swashbuckler. She's had bad experiences in the past with swashbucklers. They're as fast as she was, and they had a longer reach with their swords.
Oh that's right! She was running around to check the hunting traps she had set up this morning. She had set up several snares in hopes of catching some rabbits to try to level up her hunting skill. Very basic traps that just involved tying string to sticks and using twigs to keep the noose open enough for a rabbit to stick its head into, but not big enough for it to completely jump through. She didn't know what she was going to actually do with the rabbits after she caught them, she just wanted to do something, anything different than running around fighting monsters all the time. That got boring rather quickly, especially at this low of a level.
She was lost in her thoughts, then she remembered the guy she ran into still existed. "What are you doing out here anyway? You'll scare all my prey away." She stood up straight and started to look around for any landmarks that might indicate where she was in the forest. And it wasn't long before she realized that she was lost and had no idea where all the traps she had set up were. What a fantastic way to start an afternoon...

"Well excuse me for going out into the woods to train." Steel replied. He became wary of the knives she took out and almost pulled out his own swords but from his observations, he felt that if he responded aggressively, he would end up fighting against the monk in front of him. At this moment, he didn't want to fight other players because he would then be weakened if he had to confront a monster. He instead decided to talk to her. "From the traps I've noticed in the area, I'm assuming you're the one who set them up as you just said prey. From your face of slight panic or irritation, I can tell you also seem to either be lost or you've lost track of your traps. If you're going to set traps, you should mark where they are on your map." OOC; Don't worry about it. and the template looks good. Kaytina

"Oh, you're right! Let me just pull up the map here." She made random, mocking, hand waves. If hand waves could be mocking, that is. "Oh wait, that's right, this game doesn't have a map in the menu and I haven't exactly had the time to bug a scribe to map out the forest for me on a piece of paper. So what are you going to patronize me with next, my fashion sense?" She pulled out the karambit on her right waist and walked over to a tree. In a quick swipe, she left a scar in the bark of the tree. She decided to start doing this just now since there wasn't exactly much in the way of landmarks in a forest of trees that all look alike. She wiped the knife on her pants, then put it back in its sheath on her waist.
"And I am not lost! I know exactly where I am." She turned on her heel and started walking in the direction she thought was the closest route to the field close to the city. "neep this trapping nonsense, I'll just go back to the city and buy a bow and hunt the animals myself. I'm getting tired of wading through this forest setting traps anyway." Really she just wanted to get away from this guy that ran into her, even if that meant accidentally walking deeper into the forest. With every step, the brush was getting thicker and the mud was caking up around the side of her boots. She wished she had a machete or something to clear a better path. She kicked at the dead shrubbery, then tripped on an exposed tree root, falling flat on her face.
She just laid there for a couple seconds, then she felt something wrap around her leg. It was hard and gripped her very tightly. She felt herself being lifted up by whatever it was. Being held up by one leg, upside-down, she was brought up to face a tree. A tree with a face! "Whaa, WHAAAAAAAAA! WHAT THE neep IS THIS!?" she shouted. Before she could retaliate, whatever was holding onto her slammed her hard into the ground, then threw her a good distance away, right into the trunk of a real tree. Dazed and disoriented, she looked up at its ID tag: Forest Treant, lvl. 15.

A level 15 monster? This is bad, with just one attack it got rid of 20% of her health points. I have to help her! Steel thought to himself as he ran over to Kaytina, who at the time still seemed a bit dazed. Right when the monster was about to strike at Kaytina again, with a shout, Steel attacked the monster with the skill Dart Tack Target, dealing the monster light damage but moderate aggro with each hit. "Come on, look over here!" He shouted at the Forest Treant which due to the aggro made it turn to him. When it did, Steel attacked it again with the skill Mirage Dealer, making him slash forward in an X direction, dealing it some more damage before disappearing and reappearing behind it. At this time, he attacked it with the skill Viper Raise, making him slash at the Forest Treant's weak spots to deal it some more damage and give it a bleeding effect. During the entire duration of his flurry of attacks, he had attacked with both vigor and aggression. Now that he had the monster's full attention, Steel began to analyze the situation clearly and quickly. From what I can remember, it took me 5 total attacks to destroy a level 2 monster, 4 skill attacks, one normal attack. Taking into account the bleeding effect inflicted on the enemy that will make it lose HP gradually, it will take approximately 35 hits to destroy this monster by myself. I've already attacked 3 times so 32 hits to go. However, I don't think my MP can last that long. If Kaytina helps, that would ease my MP burden and it lowers the hits needed to kill this Treant down to about 20-24 hits due to Monks having more power. He thought to himself as he dodged multiple attack from the monster in question. The Forest Treant continued trying to attack Steel as all of the aggro was directed towards him. Thankfully, due to the natural agility of the Swashbuckler class, Steel was able to dodge the attacks albeit somewhat barely. However, with the Forest Treant all focused on him, he couldn't find an opening to attack. Hopefully, she won't just run away here. He thought to himself hoping he wouldn't have to fight this alone. She slowly crawled a bit and tried to shake off her disorientation. The monster threw her like a toy. In real life, she probably would have a few broken bones after that. The only pain she felt, though, was the ringing in her head after having hit the solid trunk of the tree. She had to think, so she shook her head still and slowly the ringing subsided. She peered up to watch as the man who had wandered into her hunting ground was now fighting the tree monster. She had no idea how strong he was, but considering how little damage his attacks made, he was probably not much stronger than she was. There was little they could probably do but run. None of her 2 usable skills could be of use here. Beatdown was only useful when there are loads of weaker enemies. And Iron Body would only slow her down. The tree monster is slow, but its attacks hit hard.
While the monster was attacking the man, it was trying to position something on its trunk to face him. It seemed like nothing at first until a shot of golden-brownish liquid shot out of it and managed to hit the man's legs. It gave him a slowness debuff that slowed his attack and movement speed. There was probably no running after this.
Kay lifted herself up to her feet. Fighting this thing with speed was not going to work if she gets hit with that sap attack. Perhaps Iron Body was her best bet. She ripped her knives out of their sheaths on her waist and prepared to fight, building up a rage and flexing every muscle in her body. The ears and tail of the wolf hair race she was a part of emerged from her head and back. "Iron Body!" She shouted, her skin immediately changed from it's pale brown to a silvery gray colour. She felt her body get weighed down by the skill, but also her muscles felt harder as well as her skin. Sacrificing mobility for strength and defense. Something like this would never have helped her in a real life fight. In real life, speed is most important because a woman lacks strength. But in a game, sex means nothing, everyone is equal depending on their class and levels. She found that out the first day she came to this world. Her real life training with knives made her over powered in a world of mostly gamers in regards to PVP. They relied on the game to make the movements for them. But here, with her custom knives and her fighting style brought in from the world outside, she was unmatched when 1v1 fighting with other players. But she was still at a disadvantage with fighting monsters. Especially monsters that didn't have bone or sinew. That was her weakness. PVM.
The tree monster still had its attention on the man, so she needed to turn its attention to her before he got hit. She barreled forward, knives held out ready to attack whatever they could. Two deadly points and razor sharp edges glinted with what light could enter the forest through he canopy, light that even reflected off her metallic skin. She rushed right by the tree, forcing the knife in her right hand deep into the bark of its body and grinding through it with her momentum. It left a nasty cut that started to ooze sap. The man had managed to take 9% off it's health before she could attack. With Kay's augmented attack, she contributed 4% more. Not enough to grab aggro off the man. The tree monster would try to attack the man with it's huge arms. They looked like trees themselves that it was swinging around, but there was a joint somewhere. She jumped back, gripped the back of the tree monster to jump further up, and landed another slice through the right shoulder of the monster. The weight of her body was taking a toll on her stamina, but the extra damage was helping. Attacking the critical area knocked off another 8% of its HP and now the monster's attention was on her.
The monster's right arm went limp. This gave her an idea. What if she could capture this thing? She climbed up its back further and onto it's neck, if it even was a neck. "Hey, whatever your name is," she was talking to the man, "do you think this guy would be worth anything if we brought it to the city alive? Maybe the sap or wood is worth something?" The monster started to shake back and forth to try to throw her off. She repositioned her knives to grip into the monster's hide like ice picks to stay on. Doing so added a bit more damage off the creature's HP pool. Including the bleeding effect the man caused to it, they had lowered its HP to just above three quarters full.
