Her skin is pale and pockmarked with freckles on her face, shoulders, and back. Into adulthood she grew to a modest height of 5'5" and a healthy weight of roughly 120 lbs. She wasn't blessed with a good metabolism so she struggles to keep weight off. As a result of her regular exercise and light eating, her body is laced with lean muscle, but it's not to an excessive level. One would say she is fit, but far from a body builder. In the game, Rebutia has a similar facial structure as she does on Earth. She even used a hand mirror she keeps by the computer and the game's extensive customization options available to make her character's face look like hers. Same height and similar body structure. That's the end of the differences, though. She has always had a complex about her freckles so she obviously didn't put those on her character. She thought the two races with animal ears and tails were cute, but Wolf Fang was the only choice that would have fit the class she chose. So she gave her character extremely light-colored long blonde hair and amber-colored eyes. On the sides of her head are the characteristic droopy ears of the Wolf Fang race colored to match her hair and trailing from above her butt is a tail covered in long white fur that falls short of her knees.

One of the reasons she even started playing Elder Tale was because she just wanted to play with her boyfriend. What sold it on her though was the chance at exploration. A game world at half-scale the size of Earth will have all kinds of new things to see. Rebutia has an insatiable curiosity. While she herself is not significantly smart, she just wants to know things even if she won't remember what she learned. Such a quirk makes the Catastrophe more bearable for her psyche. Look ahead, do what you can, ask for help when you need it, and don't dwell on what is beyond your control. She is a friendly young woman who can get along well with others, but won't actively seek out friendships. She tries to sit in the background, which has always been hard with her red hair highlighting her in a crowd. With everyone in Elder Tale having strange hair colors as well, she doesn't stand out much even with her almost-white hair. So she's more confident in her own skin than she was on Earth. She has a few hobbies she does in her free time. She liked to collect cactus, thinking that they would be easy to take care of, but as her collection grew and many started to die because she didn't have anything like a greenhouse or a nice southern-facing window to put them on, she begrudgingly had to get rid of all but one. Her Rebutia albipilosa, which is the inspiration for her Elder Tale character's name.

Ruby was born in Leicester, England on the 5th of July 1995. She grew up with her parents, an older brother, younger sister, and their family dog, a mutt named Milo who was mostly retriever, a little bit of English shepherd, and many unknowns. They lived in a village outside of Leicester called Stoughton, where the largest landmark is a pretty church. She and her siblings went to school in Leicester.

While in school, she got decent marks but nothing spectacular. She did well enough to pass and graduate, but no subject ever really held her interest. She made friends, listened in to the drama of high school girls but never participated, had a few short romances, but she never participated in any after school activities. She learned what she was meant to, she could take care of herself in regards to housework, and she had a job at a garden supply shop in the city. So she got an loft in the city.

Ruby spent her entire life in the Leicester area with few complaints. Her only grief was not being able to grow cactus at any successful rate due to the sparse sunlight that comes through the seemingly permanent overcast sky of Great Britain and her north-facing apartment windows. There was still plenty of opportunity to practice her green thumb at work, though, and she volunteered her free time at the community garden near her apartment building.

She met Charles there while he was minding one of his honeybee hives. He maintains the hives in gardens around the city and other places to support pollination and to just keep bees. A hobby of his that isn't really common. It drew Ruby to him out of curiosity and they eventually entered a long romantic relationship which led up the the Catastrophe. She was distraught at first. He was the reason she wanted to play this game anyway and now she's inside it!

She didn't take too long to dwell, though. If he was here, they would meet eventually, hopefully. And if he's not... well nothing to do but live in this world.

Main Class: Swashbuckler

Dart-Tack Target - Tier I - The swashbuckler pricks the target with their weapon four times in quick succession, each strike dealing light damage but moderate aggro. This allows the swashbuckler to temporarily gain the attention of the enemy and serve as an off-tank. While the tanking role is often left to the warrior classes, this skill might serve as a brief respite to the team in order to maintain momentum. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds.

Discard - Tier I - A technique designed to reduce aggro for the swashbuckler. As soon as the opponent draws near, the swashbuckler performs a somersault over the target's head, then uses the blunt end of the blade to spin the opponent sideways. This sudden disorientation disrupts a monster's thought process, often resulting in its battle AI resetting. This skill has an animation time of 1.5 seconds and a cooldown of 15 seconds.

Shuffle Windmill - Tier I - The Swashbuckler spins in place and performs 4 rotations with outstretched weapons, forming a horizontal sawblade attack. It can also be performed from a downed position in order to spin and transition into a final standing pose. This technique has optimal results if the lengths of both weapons are the same. Be careful of your party members' positions before you attempt it though. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 8 seconds.

Crafting Subclass: Pharmacist

Toxicity Tolerance - Level 1 - Pharmacists have developed a certain resistance around drugs. This skill can be toggled to make a pharmacist immune to status debuffs caused by potions. Additionally, they passively recover twice as fast from Poison and Mind status effects.

Roleplay Subclass: Gardener

Weeding - Level 1 - Toggle skill. Gardeners not only have a green thumb, but the ability to bring destruction to that which they give life. They inflict 20% more damage when fighting a Plant-type monster and take 10% less damage from Plant-type monster attacks.
