The streets were bustling outside of his office. His guild house was the Abbey, so anyone who died usually ended up here, and there were plenty of people who died. The penalty of dying was still a theory, and a theory not everyone believed, however Ryuu wondered if it really was a farce or not. He knew there were things in his life that he couldn’t remember anymore. Regardless, it was something that didn’t matter at the moment.
The people bustling were usually weaker than the normal, but they were also the cream of the crop to choose from when looking for those willing to learn. Even if they hadn’t died, those looking near the Abbey would be interested in his guild. As per usual, he didn’t allow just anyone into his guild, he allowed a certain group or people… people he trusted. He stood from his desk and opened the door to the main sanctuary of the Abbey. Most people knew who he was, especially if they died often. The name Aeryn and Kumori were closely associated, so those who saw him knew why he was here. Hell, everyone knew they owned the Abbey, and that wasn’t an easy feat. He leaned against the wall and watched every passerby, looking for possible prospects to join his guild… ones that he could take under his wing.
Ryuu watched intently, but his eyes caught onto a low-level swashbuckler. He was a dwarf. Dwarves were far and few in between, but that didn’t matter to him. He stepped in front of the dwarf and placed his hand in front of him to stop him from moving forward. “Quick question… do you have any interest in joining a guild?” Ryuu was direct with his question. He didn’t pull any punches when it was business. He observed him and watched his every move when he was talking to him. There was a lot you could tell about a man when you looked into his eyes and looked how he moved when speaking. This was like playing poker, something Ryuu was rather proficient at. Reading how people reacted was necessary in order to know who the best person to recruit was.
“If you’re not interested, I don’t mind, but you seem like someone who would benefit from tutelage. I can make you become stronger, but you need to be willing, and I need to be able to trust you, but ultimately, I see a lot of potential in you. I don’t offer invites often, but you are someone I haven’t seen a long time… I see a fire in your eyes… a willingness to go forth and fight... but even if I say this, I still have a few questions for you, so I’ll ask you first if you want to join… if you do, we’ll proceed,” he said. The swashbuckler showed a lot of promise, even if he was still low in level. That didn’t deter the assassin a bit, and having another DPS based on attack speed was advantageous to the group. What would the dwarf’s answer be?
