Agata figured another good step before he goes out exploring is to actually bother to level himself up. He looked at the weapons in his hand, his starting gun and sword. He raised his right arm and gave his sword a test swing. It had a medium weight to it. Of course, it'd be counter productive to one's agility if the sword was heavy. There was a concern though, the second weapon. Quite frankly, this was going to have to be a large learning curve for him. Far range versatility is fine but now he has to point, aim, and pull the trigger. Not helped is the fact that this is a cheap one shot pistol. Making him almost wonder what the point of the bullet counter is. Granted, it also let him see the bullets in his inventory. Come to think of it, Agata now is starting to realize he better invest in a multi-shot pistol because reloading is going to take precious seconds that he might not have. Agata knew he was just starting out and this is his fault for lazing about but he can't help but to feel he has been dropped in a pit...or not being able to log out of an online game in this case.
At least he heard about the monsters that could appear here. He hasn't memorized their AI patterns but he knows enough to be on the look out for the dangerous ones. Even if he ran into poisons, his detox ability should make things work out...at least he hoped. Not that he was going to test his luck. Today, he promised himself to only test himself against the weak monsters that don't have a chance of painfully sinking their fangs into him. Agata readied his gun. For now, Agata has a simple strategy. Shoot the slime in order to get its attention and then fight it normally with his sword. Slimes were always basic enemies in RPGs thanks to that one game...Dragoon Quest? Ah well, he could remember it some other time.
"Okay...just got to ready...aim..." Agata then fired...and was quite frankly shocked at the recoil of the gun. This was going to have to take some getting use to. He opened the gun. "Well that was a heart attack and a half..." Agata took a bullet out of his inventory and loaded into the gun. His gun clicked closed and he looked at it satisfied. "Sweet...can't help I'm forgetting something." His lack of care for his surroundings has earned him a jelly filled slam to his stomach. Agata crashed on to the ground and looked up over at his HP gauge to see it go down a little. "Oohhh yeah..." He attracted the attention of the slime. Agata readied his sword. There was one thing he has been meaning and hoping to practice on the slime.
Agata charged forward. With a few easy swings of the sword he managed to cut decently deep into the slime, however, the slime retaliated with another tackle...punch...lunge, whatever one would call it since the slimes don't exactly have fists. Agata winced as he looked over at his HP lower again. It wasn't too big but quite frankly this leather armor wasn't doing the trick for him. Welp, since it was an easy enemy, he already cut a decent amount of HP, it was time to test it out. Agata swung his blade full force, but as he did, he tightened his grip on the handle.
"Straighten!" A golden extended from the blade, further increasing its range. A little unnecessary considering how close Agata is to it but he can now gauge the effectiveness of his idea. He quickly raised his gun and shot the Slime once more, however, the brutality against a random blob was not finished. Agata managed to force his hand downward after the recoil of the first shot. "Wind Bullet!" Even though the gun had no ammunition, it still made a shot of some kind. The wind blast, while weak, was enough to kill the slime due to all of its damage prior. Agata looked at the glow fading away from his blade and then eyed his hit point and magic point counter. "About two seconds...going to have to extend the combo somehow." Agata said looking at his sword. His skill, while it can reach longer distances, does lower the attack power of his weapon for five seconds. That just means he needs a multishot weapon. There was also the fact that he needs to improve his gun skills. "This...is going to be quite the adventure." Agata lamented as he started to walk back to the main road to rest his HP and MP up a little. Tag: Solo Word Count: 799 Notes: Just doing a bit of initial grinding

Agata was now sensible enough to load his gun after the battle instead of after pissing off an evil slime creature. He looked at the bullet counter in the side of his vision. It was almost like it was mocking him with how much he needed a multi-shot pistol of some form. Agata began to review the combo again as he watched his HP meter slowly fill back up. Straighten, then a gun shot, then a wind bullet. That is only two out of five seconds and not to mention a very specific condition to fulfill is that the gun is loaded. To safely get an enemy's attention, he'd have to shoot them from afar so they could come to him and he could take them on one at a time...unless the AI of the creatures have pack mentality. Agata is gonna have to learn a skill that hits multiple opponents soon huh?
Agata got up, his health now at a hundred percent again. He readied his sword and gun. This time around he was going to test how long it would take him to take out the monster with just his sword. Like last time, he was only going to shoot the monster to gets it attention and to get it to go towards him. He readied his swords and raised his gun barrel to another far off slime. Time to go again. He pulled the trigger and the bullet hit the slime. Agata placed the gun away and focused on wielding his sword. Yeah, it sort of defied the point of a Swash buckler, a dual wielder who can fight multiple enemies but he had to start somewhere.
"Here we go." Agata charged with his sword and slashed down vertically while quickly following it with a vertical slash. The slime responded with a slam to his right knee. It seems for every two hits, Agata is going to have to endure one hit. He performed another two slashes again and took a hit to the stomach once more. It was at this point Agata was partially wishing he had chosen using two swords but he can't complain about it now that he made his choices. Another slash was performed, slicing the slime in half. Agata took a breathe as he looked at HP bar. Not too bad, it took more than five hits to get rid of the slime but could Agata really complain considering his current level? However, with his dwindling HP, he realized something. "Going to have to find a way around this. I could find or hire a healer but I'm not sure if I have any gold and valuables...I have nothing in terms of pharmacy experience." Agata scratched the back of his head. "Looks like more planning is going to have to happen." Agata turned to start walking on back to the road. He might as well recover there for awhile and see if he could find a more efficient way of moving on forward Tag: Solo Word Count: 502 Notes: Just doing a bit of initial grinding

Okay...final test before I head back to town. Agata got up, his health once more full. He looked at his gun and began to load it once more. Come to think of it, he now has to consider special bullets aside from his cheap starting ones. Looks like there is a lot to think about when one picks to wield a sword in one hand and a gun in the other. Versatility comes at its costs so it seemed. Actually come to think of it, if he is just going to wander about the fields, how he is going to get the likely better equipment one could get from dungeons or raids? He could leech? But that would be in bad taste...but would it be in bad taste if they requested for his assistance? Then again who would request someone at this low a level and still using starter equipment.
"Okay...let's try this out." Agata started to run toward one slime and stabbed into it, getting the creature's attention. "That's right...focus on me." Agata performed a horizontal cut on the creature before a strike was inflicted on him. This was routine at this point, though expected. He wasn't going to be invisible so of course he was going to hit as he continued regular attack after regular attack. "Okay, let's try this again." Agata gripped his sword once more. "Straighten!" The golden aura came out as expected, slicing in the slime. He quickly followed it up with a gunshot. The slime died...and then Agata realized that he should consider what would happen if an enemy died mid combo. He placed the gun in the hostler to scratch the back of his head. "Yup, definitely going to have to think more about this one." Agata placed his sword back in its sheathe. He took out his gun and started to place a bullet inside it. Come to think of it, he needed to also consider ammo limitation. "Welp, they never said it was going to be easy." Tag: Solo Word Count: 341 Notes: Just doing a bit of initial grinding
