"No need to tell me what to do!" Steel said with a bit of a smile as he decided to attack using the unorthodox way. He kicked the kobold a bit into the air and Steel used the opportunity to jump up and slash at it. "Kofuna Shizen Ryu: Nishikaze!" Steel exclaimed before slashing at the creature in mid air and hitting it to the ground. He then began to spin his body to increase the momentum of his downward sword swing. He was going to use one of the Assassin's skills, its movements ingrained into his body from training in the real world. With a shout, he slashed both of his swords into the kobold, making it lose the rest of of its health points. Not too long after that, it scattered into anima bubbles that were the basis of life in this world. "Well now, onto the next set!" Steel said as he took out his gun. He aimed it towards the direction of one of the pairs of kobolds he separated and began activating a skill as he ran towards them. "Crash Shot." He said before firing a little upward. As the bullet came down, it scattered into several small fragments but were able to keep the power of the original bullet. The small shower of shrapnel hit the two kobolds, dealing them some damage. This got the attention back to them. "You ready to face them now?" Steel asked as he put back his gun after he had loaded another bullet. mechsoulWords: 255

Ren looked at Steel finish of the kobold with a flashy move, and as he said:" You ready to face them now?" Ren smiled, dashed towards the injured kobolds yelling: "Hell yeah!". Grabbing his gun in the process, which got rid of his passive, he slit straight through one of the kobolds' arms as he tried to block the blade, while he staggered the other by firing right in his face. Holstering the gun as quick as he could (and reactivating the passive) Ren went for the kobold he had damaged with his sword, and proceeded to start a merciless flurry of strikes. After about 20 strikes, Ren's ability Viper raise was off cooldown, so he immediately struck it with the skill to finish it off. While doing so, the kobold now behind him was about to strike. In a flash, Ren turned and parried the attack, signalling Steel and saying: "Ohh sorry, did you want to attack one as well?". Dodging the slow and easily readable moves from the kobold, he stepped in a way he's positions the kobold for a finishing move from Steel. "Go ahead" He said, gesturing Steel to kill the kobold.

"Kofuna Shizen Ryu: Samidare!" Steel shouted before slashing at the kobold with his sword attack that he had learned from childhood. He then activated the skill Mirage Dealer, causing him to slash at the kobold with an upward slash in an X shape before he teleported behind it where he finished it off with a stab from his blade. A short time after the kobold lost all of its health points, it burst into the several anima fragments. "Enemy defeated moving on!" He said before switching his left hand sword for his gun once again. He checked his skill list to make sure the cool down was over before aiming a bit above the last group. "Crash Shot!" He exclaimed before pulling the trigger of the gun, shooting the bullet. The bullet then burst into multiple pieces of shrapnel, attacking the two last kobolds and getting their attention. With no hesitation, Steel charged at the enemy and was ready to cut them apart. "Watch carefully now young grasshopper." Steel said using the exact words his own mentor told him as a joke. Now that he thought about it, maybe it would have been more effective of training if his mentor was a fellow swashbuckler and not a cleric. He still valued his mentor though. "Kofuna Shizen Ryu: Tsujikaze!" He shouted before swinging his swords in an Iai slash to cut both enemies. "They've still got more health to go, use a switch system!" Steel said to Ren as he defended from the kobold's attacks. Words: 254 OOC: It's fine, don't worry about it mechsoul

Watching Steel take down the kobolds, he immediately focused the remaining kobolds, and after hearing Steel call him a 'grasshopper' felt a little odd, but he knew he was making a joke, so he smiled a little as he followed up Steel's attack. Dashing through and past the kobolds, Ren slit one of the Kobolds throat. After turning around quickly, he struck the kobold straight through the chest. As the kobold dissappeared, Ren had to parry the remaining kobolds attack, after which he took the opportunity to strike him in the chest twice, after which he finished them off with a two handed strike from above. "There, that's a lot better... " Ren said, as he brushed off any dust or dirt from his clothing. Stretching his arms and back, Ren said: "Maybe it's about time we head back to town, maybe get something to eat. You're buying, as payment from hitting my 'precious parts'. How about it?". Holstering his weapons, he looked at Steel for his answer.

“Fair enough as long as it’s not too expensive.” Steel said simply in response as he sheathed both of his swords at the same time. “Got a place you want to go? I haven’t been to restaurants much due to how crowded it can get in there sometimes. Also, recently, I’ve usually been adventuring with people that know how to cook so I haven’t needed to go somewhere to eat these days. It seems that the cooking subclass is popular with females.” Although he was just saying his thoughts out loud, that last part that he said hinted that all of mentioned cooks were female. Steel found it strange that a majority of the people he knew in the game were female but thankfully, the sex ratio of those he knew was beginning to equalize a little after meeting his student along with a Russian axe wielder he met a bit ago. “Anyway, let’s just get back into town first before the monsters we just defeated respawn and come back to life. It’ll be a pain having to fight those again while having to keep an eye on you.” He said before turning around and headed back towards the main road. Once the two swashbucklers got back onto the main road, it wasn’t that far of a distance back to town and didn’t take them too long to walk back. “So where is this restaurant you wanted to go to?” Steel asked his student having not really paid attention to the facilities such as restaurants. "Well actually, I haven't really payed attention to any restaurants before, so I could go anywhere... What about this place?" Ren said pointing at a small bar next to the two. "Seems like they serve food too, so why not?". Entering the bar, he sat at a table on the right side. On the left was your standard bartender and stuff, although there were people serving the customers walking around too. Taking a look at the menu, he ordered himself some apple juice, as he wasn't all that into alcohol. "Don't worry, I won't order anything too expensive. By the way, why did you help me back there? I mean, saving me from an higher-leveled mob is normal, but sticking with me and help me train is something else. You could've just left after saving me, you know." Ren thought about the fighting they did. Steel sure was a lot higher in level, but some real life skill seemed to have helped him out a lot too. Ren got his drink and waited for Steel's answer before ordering some food.

"Sure, let's go inside then." Steel said, agreeing to go into the bar that his student pointed to. The two walked into the bar and they soon found a table on the right side of the place. His student ordered himself some apple juice, something that piqued Steel's curiosity. Steel had the feeling that his student was in fact older than himself but the way he acted more resembled the combination of a kid and a teenager, not that the two groups weren't similar in the first place. However, he didn't let his thoughts show on his face as he ordered pasta and a soda which has just recently been rediscovered in this world. Steel began to wonder once again how they came into this world and whether or not there was a third party involved. His acquaintance from the Japanese server had hypothesized such an idea. If there was a third party, then the next question would be why they did it. As he thought this, his student asked him as to why he decided to help Ren in the first place. More specifically, why didn't he just leave after saving the beginner. As their food and drinks were put on the table, Steel decided to answer. "Well, it's simply not my style." Steel answered simply. "Well, anyone would help a person in trouble but if I just left after that, the base problem wouldn't be solved. Are you familiar with the proverb 'Don't give a hungry man a fish. Instead, teach him how to fish so he can catch fish on his own'? From the very beginning, you were lacking in experience and ability to fight. If I just left you after I saved you, you still would have lacked this ability and experience and would have most likely gotten yourself into a similarly dangerous situation soon after. I decided to help you get used to fighting in this world so that situation would be less likely to happen and even if it did, you'd be able to fight back a lot better." He said this with a smile as he began to dig in into his pasta. Words: 360 mechsoulOCC: sorry for the wait!

Ordering himself some pasta as well, Ren listened to the reaction Steel gave him. "He's a real nice guy, huh..." Ren thought to himself. The pasta was a real treat, even though it didn't seem that costly. People really seemed to improve food since the start of this "apocalypse". Plus, he really had a chance to eat some new stuff now, with all these people from other countries. That aside, Ren had no intent of going home to his boring and repetitive life. Ren really liked it here, and after making a couple of friends he already had a much better time than at home.
"This food is really good, you'd almost forget this was originally a game..." Ren said to Steel, while still looking at his plate. Everything seemed so real here, so lively. "Say, I'm thinking I'd really like to explore this world... This place is so much better than the old world..." Ren said, while putting down his fork showing he had finished his food. "I think I could really find myself some friends to fight with". "I'd really like to thank you for all the help so far though, but you still have to pay me back for that earlier incident, so I couldn't pay for the food..." "Let's just say I owe you one, ok?" Ren said, while smiling slightly. After speaking, he drank the final bit of his drink and looked at Steel.

Steel never had many friends in the real world due to his lack of social ability. It’s not that he was shy, it’s just that he didn’t really know how to approach people. Actually, more often than not, people were somewhat scared of Takeshi at first due to his height which was quite tall for a Japanese and his usual serious demeanor. There were only two exceptions to this. That would be when he was with Kyousuke or when he was playing Elder Tale on the computer. He had a much easier time making friends and people could see his kind and carefree personality more easily. When the apocalypse, the name the players on the Japan server called the event, happened, Steel was wondering how he would fare at this time. Eventually, it seemed that he had better social skills than in real life but not as good as when he played the game on a computer screen. It seemed to be somewhere in between but that seemed to work well enough for Steel as he was still able to make friends more easily. He then heard Ren’s comments about the food. While Steel had to agree the food was good, he began to wonder whether this was originally a game in the first place. The people of the land had their own histories and all of that. As Ren cheerfully talked about exploring, Steel just smiled at how happy his student looked. “Now I wonder why we’re here. I’ve been told by an acquaintance from the Japan server that there’s the possibility of a third party involved that has something to do with why we’re all here. Looks like we’ll be going in different directions then. You’ll be traveling to become stronger and to meet friends and I’ve got some things to look into along with getting stronger myself. Get stronger and when we meet again, let’s fight once more. At that time, I want to see how much stronger my student has become from now. “ Words: 338 mechsoulOCC: It seems that we're going to end soon. I guess we have one more post each and we're done.

Hearing Steel's challenge made him a lot more excited. "I'll show you my improvements, you'll see how much better I'll get..." Ren said, with a smile on his face. Maybe I'll even return the "favor" in our next battle, if you get what I'm talking about...". Ren was definitely sure he could beat Steel at some point, but there'd be a long road between now and that point. After the dishes got taken away and the food was payed for, Ren headed out. Looking back at Steel, he said: "I guess this is goodbye for now. Well, I'll see you again sometime, and I'll show you my strength then...". This was the last thing he had to say to Steel, so he walked away, and after about 10~20 meters he looked back and waved at Steel.
Wondering around this huge world alone once more, Ren really had the feeling like he learned something from the last time he walked like that. Having his hands behind his back, he walked casually like he hadn't a care in the world... Thinking about his friend's fighting style, he might want to change some things in his own. Maybe even switch to a different type of blade... Or research a new type of gun for himself. He was gonna join his friend's guild, the Vylbrand Academy, soon to, so that would give him a lot of work...So many things to do, so much time...
OOC: Thanks for the training thread Steel, this'll give me some nice AP as well :P
