Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________ The chill of the snowfall seemed to blow through Saskia's bones, as though she was as bare of flesh as those she sought to vanquish. As a woman born and raised in humid areas of Scotland, she was not used to such harsh cold as was to be found in the land of the Elder Tales. She wrapped her thick cloak around herself and pushed on.
The road up to Blackwater’s Gulge was terribly void of any colour, even the sun seemed to have been blotted out by the thick, stagnant snow drifting in from the north. The odd crimson burst of a snowberry bush permeated the gleaming white banks on occasion, though even they were becoming heavy and white with dustings of frost.
The small town couldn't have loomed from the white mist any sooner, and in minutes Saskia was glad to be indoors and out of the biting cold, shaking the snow from her clothes at the entrance to the inn. She was glad of the fire for an evening, and took her meal sitting at the edge of the hearth, warming her numb fingers until the late hours before she retired.
Being small, the town of Polaris, didn't get visited as regularly as some of the other villages. Their problems, though many, demanded someone of differing talents than those the Wolf Hair possessed. This was only Saskia's second visit, and she remembered now why she had waited so long before returning.
When she emerged from his rented room early the next morning, she inquired about possible work. The innkeeper, Dungrir, hadn't much to offer him. As it turned out – and she supposed, for the better – The Isle of Guilliem had no need of him. The man's daughter, a bard, threw in her two drakes. "It might not be anything serious, but you should take a look at the house on the edge of town. The owner, Silus? He used to work down at the mines. But he’s been out of work ever since they blew down a wall in the caves and got overrun by a horde of Kobolds on the other side. Now they had to shut down the mine, for fear of suffering more casualties. Some say his wife, Annette, may still be in there, possibly taken prisoner..."
Kobolds. "That's enough, Karita," her father chided, looking up out of whatever solemn daydream played on his mind. "Whether she actually in there or not I don't know," Dungrir directed his speech to Saskia. "His 'mine' by the waterfront holds all sorts of nice trinkets. Might be able to get your self some nice ores as well.."
"But Kobolds doesn't actually take people prisoner?" Saskia asked, head tilted slightly to one side.
"Hard to say. Man says the Kobolds had issues with part of his ancestry. Bit odd, but doesn't seem like he'd harm anyone or go around causing mischeif with them."
Saskia nodded, and considered something else. "You don't happen to know of anyone in Polaris who could use some samples of a new brew, do you?" At her inquiry, the innkeeper just shook his head apologetically, and returned to his work with the broom.
"Have you tried the Tavern over in St. Pancreas Station? I hear there’s a place there on the upper levels. Place called the Drunken Druid. Ask for a guy named Merlin. He’s always looking for taent." a man asked from across the room. The man, an aging Dwarf, approached and spoke what he knew. "The Station is not far from here, about a day's travel. They usually buy in rare ingredients for use in their studies and experiments. Only place in Londiminium dedicated to the wildest assortments of liquor, so it's probably your best bet."
"Thank you. I'll be sure to inquire about it when I'm there." With that, the conversation with the Dwarf drew to a close, and he returned to his seat in the corner, leaving Saskia with little reason to remain in the inn now that her business there had concluded. She thanked the somber innkeeper, and went on her way towards the stables.

| Stars Can't,
Shine without darkness.
Awatsuki walked through the cold enviroment of snowfall, her long black trenchcoat she was wearing over her armor protecting her from the chill that was nearly cutting through flesh to bones. However Awatsuki was used to it. The chilling wind in her homeland in Japan, in the village of Shirakawa. She also had to go to the north few times to eliminate targets in the cold enviroment there. She smiled walking through the wind as it was playing with her hair and her trenchcoat making them flutter in the wind, engaging each other in their strange neverending dance.
Under the soles of heavy leather boots reinforced with red metal the road to Backwater's guide was disappearing quickly as Awatsuki crossed the distance to it. Soon it started snowing as everything started to disappear in it. The dance of snowflakes around her made evn sun blotted out by the snow that nearly reached the level of blizzard, Awatsuki turned to side and staw the crimson burst of snowberry. She smiled lightly and kneeled before it touching the small frozen bush with her hand.
She standed up and continued to walk towards her goal, the town appearing before her as she finally reached the small town. Finally Awatsuki reached the inn and opened the door, changing her self back into a human being by shaking off the snow from her clothes as she looked more like a frost demon than a human with her red eyes nearly glowing when she was surrounded with the thick coat from snow. She walked over to the Innkeeper. "Did you see this woman?" I say as I show him drawing of my friend and lord Saskia Steelheart. "How much do you value that information lass?" He says simply as he continues to clean the glass.
One single flash of steel blade in her hand pressing it against his neck. "It's impolite to demand money for information like this..." Awatsuki asked again with her completely calm tone of voice. The Innkeepers eyes widened as hi started speaking again. "O-O-Okay! C-Calm down! We don't need any problems! She was there before a while! She was there quite long time before leaving!" I returned the blade back into it's sheath. "Alright. I thank you for the information." I turn around and walk away again. "What the hell was wrong with her..." The Innkeeper mumbled to himself as she left the Inn.
I look around. The small town of Polaris wasn't frequently visited as regularly as the other vilages. I enter the town and look around. I quickly use [Form Shift] to hide the scar on my cheek, my tail and ears. "Ugh..." I mutter. "Suddenly it feels weird without them..." I mumble to myself.
Awatsuki entered the Inn changing her hair color and facial traits looking like someone completely other when she pins up her trenchcoat to hide the rmor underath it. Then she spots Saskia in her armor. She walks over to the Innkeeper. Awatsuki follows her silently. After a while she hears finally something interesting. Some say his wife, Annette, may still be in there, possibly taken prisoner..." She hears when Awatsuki activates my [Hearing Aptitude] skill. Awatsuki smiles lightly.
The conversation follows and Awatsukis thoughts too. Hmm... Kobolds taking prisoners? Interesting... Hmm... I think I have few plans how to do this... It will just need us to be carefull...
"But Kobolds doesn't actually take people prisoner?" Saskia asked, head tilted slightly to one side. Man replies and explains that it seems that they take prisoners in some special conditions.
Saskia nodded, and considered something else. "You don't happen to know of anyone in Polaris who could use some samples of a new brew, do you?" At her inquiry, the innkeeper just shook his head apologetically, and returned to his work with the broom.
Suddenly man from other side recommends the place called "Drunken Druid" I head to leave the building waiting outside untill Saskia leaves it. Finally she walks outside as I change my appearance back, just still hiding the ears and tail, revailing my armor under the trenchcoat again.
"Greetings Steelheart-dono. So we're going to slay kobolds and rescue that woman now? I have prepared two plans if you want to hear them. One of them is dangerous though." Awatsuki says as Saskia walks past her. "Anyways I'm looking forward to serve you again." She smiles lightly on Saskia.

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________ Her pace was swift as she walked in a determined demeanor. The crowd before her began to scatter and part like the red sea, that was the type of woman the head mistress now was. It never took long for anyone to tell that she moved with a sense of purpose. She never made it a habit to walk with inappropriate posture or a spirit of slothfulness in her step. Her arms swayed with vigor as her shining iron gauntlets shimmered in the lighting of the room. She sniffed roughly trying to tune into what rumors the crowd might have had. A few people caught ear of her inquiries regarding the lost villager in the town of Polaris. From what she could feel in the presence of the tavern was a deep sense of empathy and depression over the situation. The people of the village felt utterly helpless. Saskia frowned as she just saw the towns guard drinking from a wooden cup, drowning themselves in an alcoholic stupor. It was pathetic and distasteful. The sight made her cringe in disgust as she felt a bitterness scratch at the back of her throat. She squinted at the in disdain as they slammed cards and poker chips upon the table, yelling in vibrant glee while one of their own was left either suffering or dead. It sickened the pink haired Guardian just how apathetic and neglectful the people of the small village tucked far away by the caverns could be. It spoiled her hope in humanity as her bold steps struck firmly against the old worn down wooden surface. The sound resonated with valor as her scarlet cape began to flail behind her.
She slowly reached out slender fingers to turn the golden handle of the door as she marched outside into the frozen tundra once more. Her feet hit the bitter cold of the earth as her shoe hit frigid patch of snow and sunk deep beneath it’s layers. She gritted her teeth as the chilly sensation overwhelmed her. It was always annoying for her to take those first few steps out into the brutal winter. The cold metallic armor she wore always amplified the freezing sensation she felt while enduring the harsh winters on her own. During times like this, she always would make sure to stay highly mobile and be as light on her feet as possible to raise her body temperature. She inhaled deeply and started off into a vibrant charging sprint, taking three quick steps to start her off, before she hears a uncanny and familiar voice. She was not privy to how the woman had ascertained such information in a quick manner of time. She had not noticed anyone in the vicinity that even looked as her with her key features such as her tail or her ears. Saskia blinked in bewilderment, as she was shocked to see the girl. Just how long had she been tailing her? Saskia raised a skeptical brow at the thought, but waved it away dismissively. She smiled gracefully at Awatsuki and spoke in a firm, yet tender manner.
“Good afternoon Shizuri-chan, you’re quite the clever young lady finding me all the way out here. It’s a pleasure to have you at my side, however, as I always value your abilities with a blade, among...” She briefly paused before looking Awatsuki in the eye, and smirking, hinted at her other set of shady talents. “Other things...”
She chuckled and nodded her head. “Yes, how did you know that? Hmmm, that’s certainly interesting. I guess the walls in that inn are pretty thin. Well, you are correct, however, time is of the essence, you’ll have to explain on our way to the stables. Let’s get a move on. The Stables are just about a half mile up the road. We’ll find my horse, Icarus, there, and then we can ride to the man’s house and find this mine they speak of. If we hurry, we might be able to get in and out before nightfall...hopefully.'
Saskia didn’t sound to sure as she glanced up as the position of the sun. Eve was already setting upon them. She heaved a heavy breath and began to enter a light jog to the north, beckoning Awatsuki to follow.
