He is of average height and has large innocent brown eyes and matching brown hair that comes just past his ears in no particular intentional style though he gets horrible bed head. He wears relatively dressy but reasonably comfortable clothing, in real life he wears polo shirts and nice pants, in game he might wear a fancy but simple tunic to keep from getting extravagant, usually going with earth-tone clothes though he is quite fond of reds as well. His posture and mannerisms are usually introverted, shoulders usually slumped and hands at his sides as he doesn’t want to bother anyone else. His avatar is almost directly copied off his real-life appearance except for a pair of brown dog-ears on the top of his head and some slightly longer nails and canine teeth. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"]Tobias is a rather meek individual who was once dedicated to never bothering anyone in his life. He is naïve and rather kind to a fault and easily taken advantage of because of it. He is rather good at systematic puzzle solving and logic puzzles but sometimes lacks common sense. He is a chivalrous type and generally makes friends easier with women than with men, usually preferring the company of the opposite sex in any outing. Though courageous and bold in standing up for his friends he is far less so when met with any other confrontation, including standing up for himself as he generally likes to try and avoid all types of unnecessary conflict with other people. Because of his own issues with the value of his own life and recent revelations in that respect, he has a great respect for human life and doesn’t like to kill in-game even if it has few consequences. He can be quite inventive and quirky however thinking outside the box leads his train of thought to be on a different track from most people, making him seem very odd. He is quite friendly and though his nice guy attitude, shy nature and quirky habits may rub some the wrong way he is relatively easy to befriend and once he makes a friend he will steadfastly defend them even if the feeling isn’t mutual. Overall he is the type to try and avoid trouble at all costs however his naiveté and convictions towards kindness continue to drag him into it. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"]When he was young, Tobias had some emotional trouble and was borderline manic-depressive, bouncing off the walls one day and isolating himself the next. His parents did everything they could for him however nothing seemed to reach the young boy. His older sister Jessica however had a softer touch and was more effective in reaching out and relating to him to draw him out of his shell and calm him down. His sister was a bit of a gamer girl and an otaku from her younger years studying abroad in Japan and began to teach him how to play various games of hers which helped his coordination and evened out his emotions. For the first time in his life he was feeling at peace with himself while playing RPGs and other games with his sister and settled into a nerdy lifestyle. He wasn’t exactly the most outgoing person in school and mostly made friends online and had a good time playing computer games with his sister for most of his childhood. Through the friends he did make in real life he found that it was easier for him to talk to and relate to girls than boys, much like he did with his sister. This led to him getting picked on a fair amount by his male peers for not being ‘manly’ enough or for hanging out with girls all the time, however Tobias didn’t mind much, he was happy as long as he had his games. Despite how he was picked on he was able to endure and be kind to everyone he met in school because he had his sister helping him. By the time he was a teenager he had become a skilled gamer in his own right and though he was still quite awkward he had become a nice and charming young man thanks to his gaming therapy. His sister told him about one of her old favorites when she was studying abroad, Elder Tale, was finally getting a British server, the two anxiously awaited the release date so they could play it together. However fate had other plans and a month before release date for the British server his sister got into a car accident and perished. Distraught and brought back to his depressive state from his younger years, stripped of his reason for living and enduring the abuse over the years, Tobias began to contemplate suicide. His parents sought help for him after his mental state deteriorated, however once again no one was able to reach out to him. The games and media he once enjoyed lost their luster without his beloved sister and his friends while still friendly began to drift away. His thoughts of suicide increased and he resolved to finally seal the deal, however the release date for the British server of Elder Tale came and he decided to play the game his sister had anticipated so much before he finally ended it all. That was when the Catastrophe happened and shortly after to Tobias’ horror he found he couldn’t die. For a few days after being trapped he walked into as many suicidal situations and quests as he could undertake but no matter how many times monsters tore him apart he always respawned, the choice whether or not to end his life had been taken out of his hands. After a bit he came to terms with not being able to join his sister, realizing through this cycle of death and rebirth that natural life had value and that he should cherish what life he had left in him. He resolved to live, not only to live but to make a new life and to protect all the life he could find and craft a new world here in this bizarre game. Through their skills at working around a forge, blacksmiths have developed a slight tolerance toward heat. They take reduced damage of 10% from fire-based attacks. [attr="class","skill"]Checkpoint: When you're supposed to be delivering items all over the country, you need to be able to keep track of where your clients are supposed to be! This toggle skill scans the Courier's quest log and notifies them of each destination point or individual they need to meet with in order to complete the quest. This works as a tall pillar of light that can be seen from up to 100 meters away. Additionally, if the Courtier possesses a map of the list, these points are marked with a [QUEST] icon.
