Appearance Ducky's appearance is that of a typical sixteen year old male who, despite eating massive amounts of junk food, retains the figure of a pole. He's tall, standing at a height of 6'2" (188cm), without an inch of fat (or even muscle) on his body whereas his real appearance is a great deal shorter. And because he is a bit of an attention seeker, fiery red hair was his first choice when choosing his avatar's haircolor, messy in style. Almond-eyes, of course, modeled after a person from Japan on both sides of his small yet pointy nose. Honestly, though, his character should have appeared to be much younger if paired appropriately with his child-like and dependent personality. | Personality +Strategic In battle, Ducky is the thinker. He's planning, looking for possible ways to kill the enemy faster, and ultimatley trying to assess the battle situation and make things better for the party. Although typically he's not as fast as the crazy Heretic princess lady that he likes to party with as she likes to "kill all the things" on sight. +Extroverted A group of people makes everything better! When by himself, Ducky gets sluggish and doesn't like to get involved with anything. But when he's participating with one, two, even six hundred people he finds himself among the loudest and the most energetic. Now that he's found his "group" to stick with, he'll be a person hard to forget. =Dependent His extroversion is so great that he is quite dependent on others. It's good to have friends and people around that are friends, but if he is without someone for more than a day he becomes quite depressed. It's a little unhealthy, but to his friends he'd make a wonderful asset because anything they needed Ducky would be right there ready to give! =Loving While normally just a good thing, Ducky's passion for things can sometimes get a little too powerful. Yes, he loves his friends, but sometimes he forgets that he has to take care of himself before he can help take care of others. Giving is good, yes, but he'll give every stitch of clothes away to a friend who asks (even if they own two wardrobes full) -Invasive Private time? What's that? Ducky doesn't seem to understand the fact that some people need some space. He can be a little...overbearing at times, all with good intentions mind you, but still intrusive. After all he is a people person! All one has to do is to give him a gentle nudge and politely instruct him to move elsewhere. -Cowardly Front lines? Putting himself in danger purposely? Thrill-seeking to the point of hurting his friends? No. No. And definitely no. While adventures sound fun and fine with friends, Ducky isn't about to do something completely stupid and throw himself or his friends out there. He's easily spooked, too, which makes it funny to watch when someone sneaks up on him. He doesn't plan on dying any more than he already has - once. |
Extra
= Rubber Ducky came from Princess Ozma (and somehow her fascination with this extraordinary scene from Sesame Street - who knew people watched that stuff these days?)
Biography
The year was 1998, the 12th of March to be exact, when little Reginald Bryson Harper was born into the world. His mother and father's only child, Reginald was brought up in a fairly modest home. His mother Elizabeth worked at a sewing factory while his father owned a small restaurant. They owned a small amount of land just outside of Plymouth, England, which is where both parents worked and the family did their shopping.
Growing up in a seemingly nice home sounds like a pretty good upbringing, right? Well it definitely had its disadvantages. There were times when both Mom and Dad would be at work, which didn't bother Reginald too much. He tended to stick to himself, playing some video games or maybe reading a book. At some point, his parents weren't even sure when it happened, he began to get restless while at home. In order to keep him busy, his father bought him model airplanes, cars, boats, whatever he could find to keep the boy busy. It turns out that Reginald was too much of a thinker, and by learning how to put things together he was beginning a lifelong journey of his pursuit to know everything. Well not quite that far.
Fast forward to age ten where his father's restaurant business started looking a bit grim. Many of the workers quit for one reason or another, and so he was absent for the better part of 55 hours each week. Since his father was taking on such a large role, Reginald ended up meeting an elderly lady a few blocks over that became his nanny. She would come over four times a week and watch Reginald for several hours while both of his parents were out working. At first she was sweet, engaged with him in his models, and spent a lot of quality time with him.
Unsure of what changed, Ms. Belinda came to their home one day in a terrible mood. She ordered Reginald to clean the majority of the home, consistently yelling and fussing if he missed a spot. You see, Reginald was always a good kid, and he wanted to please her, so he did what he was told. After that, his nanny began to exploit this kind little feature of his. From then on, she might've eased up on special days like his birthday or a holiday or something, but she continued to be the royal queen of the household, despite not actually being part of it. His parents were too busy to notice the drooping eyes or the distanced look he gave them. Sure, he still loved them, but he felt like he wasn't doing enough for them because they never asked for anything. Eventually he began to ask them if they wanted anything done, like clean the house or take out the trash. When they shook their head, he would get upset because he couldn't please them by doing favors. What he didn't realize was that they loved him for just being him, not for doing things. But somehow in the mix his mindset turned to "I need to please others to be happy". In order to please others, he had to be around other people. And when he had excessive alone time, he felt like he was wasting his time doing much of nothing.
Later on he discovered the world of MMO games. The idea appealed to him because, duh, playing with other people! He hopped around for years looking at different games and dabbled in some. He was super excited when the technology was developed to fully imerself oneself into the virtual world. This marked the period of time where he began to spend more time with strangers, doing what he could to help others out and do things.
Fast forward to present day. Finding himself trapped in Elder Tale, Reginald adopted the username Rubber Ducky and began his search to find some people to play with. He located someone that he had partied with previously only to find that she had drastically changed, and not for the better. His mission was to stay with her and maybe recruit some more people along the way to figure out why things were the way they were and ultimtaely to get back to the real world.

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Cleric
Heal: The most fundamental HP recovery magic of the healer classes and the root of all restorative skills. Although it grants HP restoration, it is known for its poor mana efficiency compared to other healing skills, barrier skills and reactive activation skills, thus putting this on low priority amongst healing skills. Beginners often look at healers based on how much HP this skill heals, causing some to be called second-rate or third-rate healers. That said, truly useless healers are out of the question, since most are at least competent in using restorative magic. When this skill is used, the caster is surrounded by a hazy warm light, and the chosen target is showered down with particles of light. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown time of 10 seconds. If used by a non-healer class, the cooldown doubles to 20 seconds.
Cure: A basic cure magic that removes negative status effects from a single ally. It consumes little MP and has the ability to remove negative status effects regardless of type, but higher skill ranks allow shorter casting times for this skill. Its effect is a pale blue light similar to that of Heal. The effectiveness of its cure effect may vary based on the level of the skill and the gap between the level of the user and the level of the monster which gave the status effect. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown time of 10 seconds.
Saint Channeling: The cleric becomes immobile while performing this skill and cannot perform any other skills while this skill is in effect. Every few seconds, all party members within the immediate vicinity will gradually regenerate their HP as long as the cleric continues to cast this spell. It is interrupted as soon as an opponent lands a direct hit on the cleric, so party members should be ready to defend and interpret hits meant for their teammate. This skill has a minimal casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown time of 30 seconds the moment it is interrupted.
Roleplay Class: Scholar
Evaluate: This skill allows the scholar to gain additional details about the enemy. While most players can access an interface that shows the monster's name, level, current HP, and current MP, the scholar obtains an additional interface when this skill is used. It has a one second cast time and one second cooldown time. The target's elemental weaknesses and a brief summary of their skills will be made available to the Scholar any time they access the target's interface.
Crafting Class: Alchemist
Transmutation: Alchemists are naturally aligned with the power of magical equipment, able to use the Adventurer skill [Equipment Mastery: Magical] as a Beginner-level skill without having it take up a skill slot. Their research also gives them an advantage in fighting Artificial Life to deal an additional 10% damage. If [Equipment Mastery: Magical] is already learned through racial or class bonuses, Magitech damage increases by 10%.
