“Alright Miss, it’ll be 2,000 Gold to get to the Isle of Thule.” Siegran, the ferryman muttered with a ragged black patch on his eye and a shining gold tooth gleaming from his sinuous mouth. The Lander Half-Alv seemed shady as the red emblem that adorned his tongue seemed to snake in and out as he spoke.
Saskia was a bit skeptical of the man as she eyed him up and down while she folded her arms. Her sapphire eyes glinted towards Bailin with a slight look of uncertainty as she was unsure if the trip was really worth that price. From what she had known the isle of Thule was an Island that lie a few kilometers out the the east. Though she had no skills at mercantilism, she tried her best to haggle the salty sailor.
“I was really looking more so to pay around 1,000 to be honest. How about we just split things down the middle and say 1,500?” Saskia suggested with a light smile, hoping her ambitions would go through with the gentleman.
Reluctantly, the stubborn sailor shook his head. “’Fraid I can’t be doing that miss. Typically, it is a 1,000....each that is" He said as he looked at the trio and tilted his head in curiousity at the Samurai, eyeballing her Nodachi with intrigue. “I already did you all a favor by giving you the deal for buying tickets in bulk. It’s the best I can do.”
He sounded rather stern with his words, making it rather obvious to Saskia that it might be pointless to try to push the subject. She turned her gaze towards Luiniel and smiled gently.
“You have been growing pretty strong lately, Lu. Must be going of on a few secret missions of your own, huh? I’m impressed. “ Saskia smiled warmly.
She then turned her head to the Director of Education, Bailin.
“Same goes for you, you’ve been a crack shot lately. Dealing a nice bit of damage and I bet you have a bag of tricks with those new skills I have yet to see. That’s pretty fascinating. So how you liking the new rifle? You told me you went out and bought one...” Saskia inquired inquisitively.
“I had to get suited up a bit more appropriately myself. Packing a few new toys I’m sure you guys will like. “ Saskia winked as she [Quick Swapped] into her Stratford Arms variation of her gear.
“It’s pretty basic. No reforges or anything special like that, but I do have a few things in the works over at mysterious shop “The Funeral Parlor”. Crazy name for a shop eh? Well, turns out not only is he a damn good blacksmith, he’s a master Alchemist as well. It would definitely do all of us some good to make sure not to neglect magitech or any accesories. Every little bit helps.”
Saskia gave a firm nod as she looked over at the man, then back at Bailin.
“Well, Professor Bailin, you’re our money man, finances are your thing and you keep most of the coin, so let’s go ahead and grease old Siegran’s palms so we can get a move on.”
“Sounds good to me!” Siegran chuckled lightheartedly as he looked over at Luiniel again. “You Samurai are really something else. It’s always hard as hell to predict what you’re going to do because most of those darn moves have japanese names and I don’t know what the hell to expect! It’s not like ‘Shield Bash’ or ‘Sword Rain Flurry’. Last Samurai I picked a fight with, I got my ass handed to me!”
Saskia chuckled and glanced back at Lu. “Well our Samurai can sure kick some ass to. That’s for sure. She’s quick on her feet and she definitely thinks things through. Well, except that one stunt she pulled when she tried to become a human minesweeper!” Saskia burst into laughter.
She shook her head, barely able to contain herself.
“I’m sorry, but that was just freaking ridiculous. Remember the look on Pen’s face? She was boiling red! It was hilarious.”
Saskia bit her lip, trying to hold herself back from laughing. “Alright. Let’s go ahead and load up. Our mission is a simple scouting one. We’re just here to tame the uncharted lands and secure whatever loot we can find and bring back to home base. I can’t tell you guys what’s out there. But seeing as it’s an island. I’m guessing it’s probably fish....fish and bones. Not a bad sombo. But they are hell if you face both at the same time.”
“Oh, there’s more lurking out there than that, lass...you barely hit the tip of the iceberg...” Siegran chuckled in a sadistic manner.
Saskia frowned lightly and began to board the small ship and leaned over the side of a ship as she waited for the others to accompany her.
“Any of you guys ever ride any boats or go on any cruises?” Saskia asked. “I never really been. Though I always wanted to. So I guess this is a bit of a first.”
Saskia watched as the seagulls passed over head. She was thrilled by the sense of adventure that would soon await them as they embarked out on a new magnificent journey.

The trio stood at a pier, Saskia talking to a Lander with an eye patch, discussing about the price for a boat trip across the water to some place. Somewhere Bailin felt as if Saskia was starting to develop or, perhaps even, let surface an attraction to men with eye patches. During the bartering session with the man Saskia shot him a wavering look, as if she did not trust the sailor, especially when it came to the price he was asking. The price however sounded rather logical to Bailin; as adventurers they could gain more money than most Landers and as adventurers could most probably undermine all economic endeavours of Landers if they wanted to, Landers would need to make every costumer count; or at least that was what Bailin thought. However the game of services and trade required that one bartered about the price, something Saskia attempted to, only to be shot down by the Lander sailor. It was to be expected as most sailors were generally stubborn and this one eyed Lander was no different. [break][break] After Saskia was shot down she turned her attention to first Luniel, complementing their guild samurai on her increased strength and prowess. And her next stop was to turn her attention to him. “Ah you’re a suck up, but thanks.” He winked with his one visible eye, accompanied by a gentle smile. “Well, I am becoming more and more of a pain in people’s butt with my skills and yes I like my new riffle, but I will keep it a secret for now, no need to show you everything right off the bat.” He said with a wink. [break][break] “Ah indeed, new stuff is shiny stuff, but let me remind you: a knight in shining armour never had his metal and mettle tested.” Bailin said teasing as Saskia showed off her new equipment as a girl who had just bought a new dress. “But you look nice love, I have gotten my new gear from them as well, though with reforgeries because well… I can and the Funeral Parlor made me some really nice toys, like you said, every bit helps. And what about you Lu, where did you get your new toys?” Bailin asked with a grin. [break][break] “And here I was thinking we’d spend the entire day chatting up on our new toys.” Bailin winked with a grin as he opened his bank account menu to withdraw 2.000 gold pieces and handed them over once they had materialised in a small pouch. “Here you go my good sir, love the eye patch by the way. Say, as we are on the subject of both ships, sailing and money, would you perhaps be interesting in ordering a new ship? I can probably help you with that, for a small fee of course because materials will have to be bought and such, you will most certainly understand.” Bailin asked the sailor as he handed him the fee for transportation. [break][break] When they were done talking the sailor focussed his attention to Lu, sharing with them the story of him having his butt kicked by a samurai and that they were an odd bunch as they mostly seemed foreign to him, mentioning it sounded Japanese, which made Bailin figure someone educated the fellow at least a small bit. As the talk revolved a bit around previous adventures, with Lu being a minesweeper, Bailin focussed his gaze upon the skies. He never was one for the luxurious trips his parents used to take him on, but he did learn to read the weather a small bit, though as he had spent most of his life inside and in the city it would be best described as it being on the lowest level of all. [break][break] After a while the talk simmered down a bit and Saskia explained their task to them. It would be a simple scouting mission, just figure out what is more or less over there, bring in some loot and make the others jealous of their adventure. “Fish and bones? What did ever happen to fish and chips? I find that quite more of an enticing combination than fish and bones…” Bailin joked. The Lander mentioned something about the tip of the iceberg and that there would be more lurking in the depths of both water and island. [break][break] “Wait don’t tell me… you just happened to have named your ship Titanic or something like that?” Bailin asked, a tad worried. “Yes, I love the sea and I love ships, though my parents did take me on some cruises, which I dreaded by the way, way too fancy for my liking and that should say more than enough.” Bailin replied to Saskia’s inquiry.

bittersweet. After what felt like a week of radio silence it seemed that the guild was back to the grind stone. Imagine the samurai's surprise when she recieved a message from Saskia to meet her here at the docks. The only time she had truly spoken to her was that time back in the greatwoods where Zar and Illya had stumbled upon them and even then it was not for very long. What did she want and what were they planning to do together today, that was the question. She didn't distrust those she associated with but she didn't know what to expect either.
While she waited to be filled in she listened to the guild mistress attempt to haggle with the ferryman. It didn't seem like she was going to be very successful however. Her lack of merchant skills was amusing but it just went to show you that some things did indeed still rely on the system. Cooking, crafting, those two things could be done without menus or recipes. The ferryman wanted two thousand gold, he drove a pretty hard bargain but if money was the problem she was more than happy to pay it.
The entire time they went back and forth she noted that the ferryman seemed to be sizing her up. Normal people might have been uncomfortable in this situation but she seemed to be able to ignore it. She was used to people gawking at her short stature or outright making fun of the fact that she was vertically challenged. None of this bothered her in the slightest simply because in the end she knew she could clobber you one good.
"I never stop experience farming and sleep only four hours a night. I've found that I don't need much rest in this world compared to my fraile body back in the other world." she said with a smirk. In this world they were just shy of gods and it showed in what they could do with their powers. If she wanted to she could probably cut this boat in two where as in the real world she could break her hand trying if she wanted. The power behind that thought was rather intoxicating and it was what kept fueling her will to test the limits of her body here.
At the mention of new gear Lu raised a brow at Saskia. Never had it crossed her mind that she should upgrade these relics of hers that served no purpose now. How had she forgotten such an important thing with the amount of gaming skills she possessed? Most likely because she had never had to deal with being physically trapped inside of a games world. Looking down at her own gear as Saskia swapped she made a mental note to seek out a more experienced blacksmith when they got back. She had the skill herself but she had no real experience in the matter.
"I haven't, actually, I should probably upgrade as well. I have the blacksmithing crafting class but I have no experience with using it. Might as well look up this Funeral Parlor as you called it." she said with a laugh. What an oddly suitable name for what the place did; supplied savage demi gods with weapons of great destructive power.
Watching Bailin pay for the trip she decided not to make such a big deal of it. She had the money as well but she decided that it would probably be insulting to raise a fuss about it. Instead she simply nodded his way when he did in thanks before her gaze shifted back to the captain. "Even if the names were in english you would still be clueless. My people do not speak so plainly." she commented with a smirk. Most of the abilities were either oddly named or poetic in a way that suited them.
After all the small talk and beating around the bush the mission details finally came out. Not that she minded the small talk, it was just that she was more curious as to why they were here. A small scouting mission seemed like it could be quite fun, though truth be told maybe they needed some sort of support. There were times when she wondered if she shouldn't perhaps swap to a support class of some kind. She learned a few days ago that it was still possible to change the class you were listed as, perhaps she should ask her companions.
"I have something to ask the two of you, actually," she started before collecting her thoughts. "..it's come to my attention we have a lot of melee classes be it tanks or just damage dealers but little to no support or healers. Do either of you think I should change my class to suit those needs?" she asked. All she really wanted was an honest opinion as she loved to fill the niche that was not taken. |

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
As she enjoyed the gentle breeze of the winter winds, she turned her head back to Bailin. She shook her head at the ridiculous statement he made, and often made for that matter.
“You know, you ought to watch what you say, because if I’m Rose and you’re Jack...I’m goig to hurl you off that raft like she did!” Saskia chuckled in a teasing manner as she nudged him in the shoulder with a bright pearly white smile.
Siegran didn’t understand the reference and shrugged his shoulders, making his way to the starboard side of the ship and untying it as they boarded.
“Alright, Lads and Lassies! Seabreeze has set sail!! Enjoy the ride and make yerself’s nice and cozy! Try not to stay too close to the edges. We don’t exactly have too many life vests or any of that. Maybe if I didn’t spend all the budget on booze, eh? Harr harr harr!” The wicked scoundrel laughed as he spun the steering wheel hard to the right and they left the docks.
Saskia rolled her eyes, and turned around, leaning her back on the side, and folding her iron gauntlets in front of her, looking at Luiniel with intrigue.
“So you getting that good ole level 15 itch, eh?” Saskia chuckled. “You know I had a feeling back then, that maybe I should follow the same pursuit I had in real life. Music. I always been passionate about it. Heard the Bard class was pretty in demand for their services. I also pondered the thought of being a Cleric as they are a precious gem to have in the field. But I guess I ended up staying the course. You figure out that you reap certain rwards once you crack into those tier II skills. You basically get to augment yourself to be a bit more versatile. Like take Guardians for example. For us, we get a bunch of skills, primarily with two handed weapons, that allow us to dish out a lot more damage. Though we sacrifice our shield, which kind of makes us shit out of luck when it comes to fighting those heavy hitters. I had to spend the last few weeks working on my ability to parry effectively. Learning my way around a polearm has certainly been interesting. “
Saskia smirked as became more intrigued about the subject. This being her first MMO she had learned about a lot of things in particular that she never knew about. Especially when it came to the strengths and weaknesses of each character.
“However, you did bring up a good point, at the very core of our group, we are basically bolstered for defense. I actually did a bit of scouting in the areas that are around level Twenty five and higher. I don’t think we’re going to be able to cut it with the way things are currently looking. Yes, ideally our survivability is possible. However, it look basically rely on us taking on small numbers of enemies at a time and bouncing aggro control one at a time while the other recovers himself by using those meager heal spells. Also, aother major drawback is our damage potential. If you hadn’t noticed already, though I’m sure you have. Most of our damage is physical. We’re going to be in trouble when it comes to enemies that have strog physical defense, but are weak to the elements. “
Saskia paused as she pulsed out her hand, summoning a splendid and itricate web of virtual data and statistics.
“I’ve been doing a bit of research alongside a Scholar Adventurer I met in the Moon Dance Forest. We found that a lot of the beast had weaknesses to elements and also used many elements of their own. The damage that he was able to dish out was remarkable. Especially when he employed area of effect skills. You see...he was a Sorceror. I always found the elements of magic to be rather fascinating. Commanding the efforts of Fire, Water, Earth, and Lightning. To be able to poison your enemies and teleport distances. To summon the holy power of light, or the sinuous infernal darkness at your fingertips. There’s definitely a mystical beauty to it. I have been trying to contract some spellcasters. As of now, our main caster seems to be Myrddin. He’s around level twenty three so he can help support our group, but I’m also looking for a bit of versatility.”
“Now, granted we have a lot of tanks, but not everyone possesses the power of will that you have in your heart Luiniel. You work tirelessly to become better at whatever it is that you do. Our tanks need to be valiant leaders, and I see that in you. I also feel that you’re able to analyze a situation from the rear as well. It definitely gets you more insight and control over the battlefield. I see you as a very ambitious person. I wonder how the idea of becoming the highest level Sorceror on the server would appeal to you. I already met the famed Caerbannog who led the charge with Samurai and became the first to master it. You seem like to me as one who can leave her mark on the world and ascend to the world of legends.”
She smiled sweetly as she praised and nurtured the aspiring cadet.
“I hold that same passion in my heart. Ever since I grown to love this game and the sense of adventure I feel every time I embark on a quest. I feel this sensation deep inside me. I want to be the best. I want to be able to do more. Not just for us, but for the Landers here too. I want to be a great protector of these people and be the first to rise to the challenge of being the best Guardian on the server and bring honor to our academy by leading by example.”
She gave Luiniel a nod of affirmation.
“But the important thing is that you have to find your own way, just make sure it’s something fun that you would throughly enjoy. Oh, and don’t forget, you can always switch back if you don’t like something, and go back where you left off! But if you do switch you get a bit of a leveling boost and you start at level ten, which gives you three more skills than when people normally start off at level one. “
She glanced over at Bailin.
“Same goes for you. I have no doubt that you can be the highest level warden on this server. Hell, you might already be! I never really run into many of those guys at the upper levels. They are practically extinct. So I guess you and strife are kinda pioneering the industry.” Saskia smirked confidently. “ You all got some pretty nice tools and tricks up your sleeves. I definitely would like to see a lot more of those. Especially after that nonsese with those Heretics.”
Saskia’s sapphire eyes glinted down at the floorboard as she remembered the close call they had as they stormed the lighthouse in search of their friend.
“You guys think we’re ever going to find Cortana?” Saskia sighed as she sifted through her menu bringing up her personal inbox.
“I sent a lot of messages to her ever since that day. Still nothing...I have no clue what the hell happened...” Saskia sighed.
“I...I shouldn’t have let her go out on her own. She was only level one. You know? I mean she was just getting back into learning how to walk properly. It...it still keeps be up at night sometimes. Just who were those guys... And what did they want with her?”
Saskia shrugged her shoulders and unfolded her arms as she looked up at the duo.
Across the deck, Siegran frowned and tried to comfort her with a cheerful laughter.
“Oi, damn Heretics spreading their damn corruption. Don’t know who pissed in their flagon, but they’ve been causing up quite a stir indeed.” He stated as she kept his gaze on the open sea, embracing the waves as he steered the ship past the rocks that emerged out of the sea.
“If you think Heretics are bad...just wait ‘til you get to the isle...got all sorts of nasty creatures there. But...if treasure hunting tickles your fancy....aye..I think you might be in for some woderful delights! Word by the scuttlebutt is that there’s a graveyard of ships o’er to the farthest side of the eastern shores. Most men are too much of a ninny to go out and explore there for fear of the ghosts and ghouls and old wive’s tales about the place. But for the bold and adventurous, well it’s open game! A whole bunch of sunken treaure just waiting to be excavated and harvested! Pilered and plundered! Harr! Harr! Harr!”
He laughed wildly as he shouted. “Now if that don’t ease your worries, I don’t know what will! ‘Tis a shame what happened to your friend. I lost a bunch of good allies. But I mean if she’s anything like yo adventurers, then she’s immortal too right? I can’t seem to wrap my head around it. How the hell you guys do it, no one knows...some say you’re blessed by the gods themselves...course, I never considered myself to be much of a religious man. Though I do worship the almighty bottle from time to time! ”

“Well… Rose that would mean I would have to draw you like one of those girls, if you truly wish to re- enact the Titanic. However, this Jack can actually swim and pretty darn good if I have to say so myself.” He parried Saskia’s remark on him going for a permanent swim, with a smile. [break][break] Though they were having fun, their captain ended their fun time debate for he thought the weather was perfect to set sail, something that was fine with Bailin. Though he didn’t mind spending some more relaxation time with his girlfriend, three was a crowd and they were with four so much relaxing in a more… intimate setting was not something that would happen any time soon. Neither of them had spent a lot of time together as they both set out on different quests. [break][break] Boarding the ship Bailin walked towards the bow of the ship to enjoy the sea breeze flowing through his hair as the two ladies of their party continued chatting about class changes and the likes. Bailin hadn’t thought about it, nor did he care. He enjoyed the options the Warden class gave him. Thus he closed his eye and enjoyed the feeling of being on the open sea on a simple ship and not some high end, luxurious cruise ship his parents used to drag him on. [break][break] Faintly he heard both Lu and Saskia continuing their talk until, after a while, Saskia suddenly said something that struck him as odd. Opening his eye he listened carefully to what she had to say, about him being the highest level Warden on the server… the thought made him chuckle on the inside as the notion was sweet. “Yea, it’s that time of the year you get all mushy and sweet on me eh?” Bailin said with a grin as he walked towards the two ladies. “I am probably not the highest level warden on this server, remember the tales I told you about Stratford, the original place of the wardens, I am fairly certain a there are a load of higher level wardens there.” He said, putting an arm around Saskia’s waist and giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. “Sorry about that, but she is cute when she goes all sweet on me, so she has to receive some sort of reward or she might turn into one of those grumpy old ladies. Can’t have that now can we?” he said with a wink as he removed his arm from Saskia’s waist. [break][break] “Well, heretics are indeed annoying but you have never been to the Miasma realms, best stay away from there, trust me on that one.” Bailin said grimly, “Yea, it has been a while, but at least she is more or less around, as you can still send her messages and such. So I guess we’ll find her one day, someday, somewhere.” He continued as Saskia started having her doubts on her decision regarding Cortana. Placing a hand on her shoulder he said: “Listen dear, stuff happens, the how and why’s will come later, we should find her first and we’ll figure out the rest along the way and after that. But for now let us focus on the task at hand, no use in looking back all the time.” [break][break] As he removed his hand from her shoulder, their captain fell in agreement with them regarding the heretics, finding them at least equally annoying as they did. However he mentioned that the things they would face on the island were nasty, as if he were suggesting they were equally as nasty as or even worse than heretics. But on the Brightside it was rumoured to house treasure and a ship’s graveyard. The thought of treasure sounded nice as Bailin was still trying to increase his personal fortune even further. [break][break] “Immortal is a big word as we well do die, however we receive a second chance so to speak. Death is not the final word for us but I’ve been told it is not something to take lightly either.” Bailin said with a smile, as the sailor probably meant little harm with his remark, but there was already a tad of bad blood between Landers and adventurers because of the second chances and even if one small victory could be achieved by changing or enlightening one single person, Bailin would gladly take it.[break][break]

bittersweet. "Alright, Lads and Lassies! Seabreeze has set sail!! Enjoy the ride and make yerself’s nice and cozy!"
Today was going to be a lot to absorb, that much she could already tell about the adventure. When it came to this guild she was starting to expect nothing short of life threatening every time they ventured out. Her mind wandered back to the Nepents and the Treants they fought a while back that almost wiped them out. This time however she was stronger and she planned to show them just how much stronger she was. Lu refused to be the weakest link, the one they were all shielding and soon her training would pay off hopefully.
Resting both hands upon the hilts of her katanas, Lu let the calm sea breeze wash over her. There was a smile on her face as the winds rustled her clothing and caressed her fair skin. For some reason today she was not so chatty unless she was spoken to but it seemed that Saskia was taking her place. At the very least it kept the trip interesting and someone had to do just that.
Lu blinked her eyes at the two of them as they spoke of some characters named Jack and Rose. She smirked but honestly the reference went right over her head. Unfortunately that was true with a lot of references one might make around her. She cared little for things outside of her games in the world before this, that and she did not watch many foreign films.
"I tend to do this often in games like this. I pick a class but given that there are so many options I wonder "What if" and change my mind a lot." she said laughing nervously. Rubbing the back of her head she grinned and shook her head. "It's honestly always been a pain in the butt to my other guilds. Just when they get used to me being one role I switch and they never know what I'll do. I've always been the wildcard I guess." she said.
Honestly it was nothing that she was pleased with as it made the lives of her friends harder. Lu hated her indecisive nature, the only time she could make a decision was on the battlefield where someones life was at stake. It was one of her many flaws that she had yet to work past- in that regard she considered herself to still be quite childish. This was also the reason she did not lead a guild of her own- she lacked the attention span for it.
Nodding her head as she listened to Saskia list of reasons to remain the same she began to agree. There were still higher tier skills to consider and they were game changers for most classes. For the Samurai class they made a huge difference as most of the chain skills added on devastating finishers. The only thing that didn't help her decision at all was the fact that Saskia went on to explain that she also saw what Lu did.
Too many tanks was never a bad thing considering that most games had a low population of them. In this paticular case however they had zero healers to rely on and so it would come down to potions and skill for now. In the support category in general they were lacking in casters or a swashbuckler for debuffs as far as she could remember. Vylbrand was a very odd group so far but she remained eager to see where they would go moving forward.
"Domo. Your insight is much appreciated here. I'll weight the consequences of my choices and see where I stand. I am a samurai at heart and prefer to stand on the front lines. Yet at the same time I also tend to analyze things on the field quickly and would benefit from being in the back. You can see the problem here, what I want versus what I do well." she said with a laugh. That was always the problem but she felt that what she wanted mattered little when weighed against what the collective needed. Did this make her leader material? Who knew, she sure as hell did not.
This group was quick with changing topics on the fly- they went from joking to class discussion to their missing guildy very quickly. While Lu did not know Cortana in any way before she went missing that didn't change the fact that she still felt bad for her. What was worse was the fact that Saskia had to carry around that guilt now even though it was not hers to bare. If she could do anything to lighten the load she would but for now all she could do was watch from the side lines.
"It's not your fault it is on the enemy we face. Cortana made a choice to stand beside us that day, it could have happened to any of us." she said with a blank expression. Lu was not very good at the emotional stuff but she tried at the very least. "There will be a lot of sacrifices along the way to making this world a better place for us while we're here. That could be a long time and we don't die in this world so I'd find some way to make peace." she insisted.
"We'll make it through and she'll come back to us." she said firmly. |

When Bailin made his clever remarks, Saskia scoffed with a wide smirk, shaking her head at another one of his ridiculous gestures. He always had some witty comeback for any given situation and was very quick on the draw. Much like he had handled that rifle in the fields of snow during the bitter winter of the Windsor Greatwoods. She wondered where he got the ammunition for all his jokes as he seemed to be running on unlimited ammo.
“Don’t tell me I’m going to have to take the paintbrushes out of the classroom again, Professor Bailin. You keep that up and I might have to give you some detention.” Saskia quipped in a flirtatious manner as she chuckled.
When she commended him, he seemed very modest in his response and she respected that as spoke of Stratford Wardens. Indeed he was correct, Saskia had almost forgotten about them.
“That’s true. They really are a force to be reckoned with. Sometimes, I worry about Mitsuru. Ever since then I’ve been oddly suspicious about heretics in general. “
She mumbled this as she soon blushed after receiving a light kiss from him on the cheek. She looked at him with a smile and ater he made his remark, she put her hands on her hips and replied.
“Oh really?”
Her eyes squinted at him playfully.
“You know what would be a fun reward, if we actually manage to find some treasure or something like this guy said...what do you think could be found out there?” She inquired.
She tilted her head and cast her eyes on the sea as they maneuvered through the rocks.
Luiniel went back in response to speak of her reasoning behind her mixed fillings. She confessed to becoming caught in the conscious game of “What ifs” and the thoughts were lightly plaguing her mind with a wind of uncertainty.
“Well, I don’t think it really matters as we will be here for quite some time it seems. Just as long as you have fun, I don’t mind what class you are. An sometimes versatility can be a blessing. Maybe you’d find comfort in being a spellblade of sorts. Have a mixture of both worlds. I hear that Druids, heavy armored clerics, and even some sorcerors and enchanters can pull this off with the right equipment mastery. Oh, and shamans are very easily capable of boosting their defense in tandem with that armor. “
In truth, Saskia was probably helping to spike her indecision rather than narrowing her choices. However, she was never the one to tell people what to do with a major choice in life. At least, not yet, as she had no reason to..
She listened as the girl expressed her appreciation and Saskia nodded warmly in understanding.
“The pieces will all fall into place soon. I’m certain of it. “ She said with an air of confidence.
When she spoke of their missing comrade, the other two offered whatever comforting words that they had for her and tried to help her ease her feelings of shame and guilt. She rubbed the back of her head with a feint smile as she tried to make the best of the situation.
“Well, I have some good news however...I met a few interesting people. One of them is a woodcrafter named Raef Blackwood. He’s also a summoner. We might be able to contract his services for a boat of our own. “ She muttered.
“Oi, so that’s how it’s going to be, eh? Gonna put ol’ Siegran out of business, are ye?” The salty sailor laughed as cast his gaze upon the rocky seas.
“And also...there’s a newer member in the guild. She happens to be a sorceror....I met her in the grain village...we were trying to protect the landers there from an assault by the Sahaguins...but....some of them didn’t make it.” Saskia frowned.
“Aye...I lost my daughter to those bloody wretches...damned finned beasts...always stirring up trouble.”
“Yeah, she’s been a little shaken up by it. But she did the best she could under pressure. She’s seen some....pretty horrible things. Her name’s Rinee. Make sure you guys look after her.” Saskia advised.
“Oi, speak of the devil!” The sailor bellowed. “ Sorry to disrupt your little tea party ladies and gents, but we’ve got trouble!”
From the shadows of the rocks, a bustling group of fins could be seen approaching at a rapid rate.
“Sahaguins!!!” The sailor cried out. “ Lock and load there lad! They’ll be on our arse in no time!”
The sailor let loose his hands from steering wheel as one of the Sahaguins leaped up and hurled his trident downward with all the might of hell.
The salty swashbuckler jumped back and withdrew a pistol from his holster and fired a round into the creatures face.
"Sorry lad, but the Seabreeze doesn't take any freeloaders! And mutiny's not an option on my damn ship!"
The brunt of the blow knocked the sahaguin of course as he rolled around the deck and back to his feet.
Three more fins could be scene encircling the boat as they all jumped aboard. One for each of the group.
These young sea monsters were level ten, but were very quick and fierce.
Siegran kicked the one he shot on the deck with his dirty black boots and slashed at it with his scimitar.
“Oi, protect the seabreeze! I got to get back to steering this ship or we’re going to crash into those damn rocks!” He shouted as he ran back to the steering wheel and rapidly spun the wheel to the right to avoid a close encounter with a sharp rocky mass.

“Well, if we are talking about rewards… detention and paintbrushes sound interesting, more I shall not say on the matter, as not to traumatise Lu any further. And yes really.” Bailin grinned with a wink as he leaned with his back against the railing, placing his elbows on the railing as the wind blew his ponytail out of his neck. [break][break]
‘This is relaxing, I think we should start building ships and just float on the open waters.’ He thought as he closed his eye, whilst Saskia agreed on the Stratford Wardens being a force to be reckoned with, as he had mentioned. “Well, treasure is always good, but we’ll see, no use if selling the deer before we caught it.” [break][break]
“And Lu, I will be less than helpful, but: pick something you feel comfortable with. If you prefer to be on the front lines, take a tank class, if you want to deal loads of damage, take a dps class, if you want to buff or heal, take a support class. It matters none to me, except that it makes you feel comfortable. If you, for example, take a class that is opposite of your personality or liking, you will do a terrible job because it is not like you. However if you take something that makes you do things that make you feel good, you will be good at it.” Bailin said with a gentle smile, probably being less than helpful on the matter. [break][break]
The next subject of conversation was about the guild’s champion of hide and seek; a subject Bailin would rather not say more about for it left a lot, or rather too much, to speculate and uncertainties. Luckily the mood changed soon as Saskia mentioned she had met some interesting people along the way, one of them being a carpenter to boot. “Good, I have a use for him.” Bailin smirked darkly, as if he was plotting an evil master plan. [break][break]
“Well not really, but someone has to ensure you can stay afloat, for the right price of course.” Bailin grinned even further. “Well, new guys are always a good thing, especially the kinds we don’t have many of walking about. In the words of the Man of Steel, also known as Stalin: the death of one man is a tragedy, the death of many is but a statistic. Uncle Stalin was a bit of a weirdo on that part but he has a point, if I might be so rude. People die every day, sad as it might be, we can’t stop to mourn them all, how cold that might sound. All we can do is live on and try to diminish the number of dead people with every step we take. But that is just ideology and perhaps even psychology. I am however sorry about your little girl.” Bailin said with a sad nod to their captain. [break][break]
“Ahw, already? And here I was enjoying a little rest for a change.” Bailin smirked as he used [quick swap] to take out his newly purchased firearm, dropping to one knee and pulling back and forth the bolt of the weapon, placing a bullet in the chamber. [break][break]
“Well now ladies, let us commence our livelihood once more. If we’re lucky we can eat fish tonight.” Bailin bellowed as he took a shot at the second creature to be foolish enough to board the ship. ‘Oh my, this one is nice indeed.’ He thought to himself as he prepared another shot, whilst his first bullet hit its mark on the upper left of the torso. bittersweet. It was almost as if the festival of love had followed her even here on this boat. There were momentary thoughts of seppuku as she watched the couple go about their lovey ways. For some reason the girl had a problem when it came to those emotions but she never took the time to understand the problem. Turning to face the water she stared at the rippling waves as the boat cleaved it's way through the water. At least she now knew exactly what she was in for now, nothing else could take her by surpise she thought.
For the time being she decided to space off as her thoughts drifted on the wind. She wondered what her others friends were doing in this world, she could see they were online but not where they were. Hopefully they were fairing better than she was on the leveling front as she felt she was slacking. No matter how much she seemed to try lately it seemed that the others were several steps ahead of her. Perhaps she shouldn't see it as a competition so much as it was simply motivation to do better.
Lu continued along that line of thought until she heard the word treasure mentioned by Saskia. Her ears twitched slightly as she turned to face them once more. Anything shiny in this world intrigued her and was enough to obtain her attention for the time being. Perhaps she could find a replacement for these stupid starter katanas she carried about. Then again if she wasn't slacking she could simply craft herself some new ones.
When she thought about all of the work involved in doing just that it made her feel sore and tired already. At one point in time she wanted to learn the trade but then she got sucked into the world of gaming. When that happened most things became a background thought and so that probably had something to do with her ignore her other classes at the moment. To her the power to do battle was all that mattered until she could take it no further.
Nodding her head slowly, Lu let out a soft "Mhm" before she went back to being silent. It took her a moment to figure out what she wanted to say in reply to that. Honestly she was not sure if things would ever fall into place here, everything was so strange. However Lu did not want to express her pessimistic views with someone who already blamed themselves for something out of their own control. Putting on a smile she tilted her head and beamed positively at the guardian.
"I'm sure the two of you will figure things out. Vylbrand will move forward and with any luck we'll leave our mark on this world." she said with a bit of hope. Honestly that was what she wished for more than anything else, to do something worthy of note and to gain respect from the other adventurers. It was always an amazing feeling to be the first to accomplish something but she had to figure out what that something would be. The two of them had a point however; she had to stick to something she liked. That something just so happened to be samurai due to their long chains.
Just as she was about to launch into her own little speech she heard the captain shouting about something. Turning just in time to see a trident come flying down on the deck she side stepped only to feel it shave against her side. Her avatar shimmered a bit as she lost around five percent of her health. Of course with all this talk of monsters, quests and Sahagin the damn things would actually show up. It didn't seem like much more than a skirmishing party however as she watched three of them land on deck.
One of them was instantly shot by the rifle Bailin produced while the other two attempted to advance upon the ladies. With a smirk the samurai drew her swords feeling that familiar rush of energy coursing through her body. Moving in close to the Sahagin she would draw her katanas across it's body in an X shaped pattern with bonus damage compared to her normal auto attack. But her attack did not end there as she was the samurai class, the first strike was only the beginning.
Activating [Denkosekka (Lightspeed)] her entire body would start to flow with energy. Electric sparks surrounded her entire body as her hair started to flutter from the power coursing through her. Once it took hold of her and chain one started she moved quickly around behind the Sahagin, noting it seemed hard for him to track her at this point. Once disoriented by her speed she sheathed one katana and brought the other over her head charing [Izuna-giri (Vacuum Slash)] before bringinig it down. A sharp blade of wind would fire off of the blade and pierce through the Sahagin causing it to panic.
The end was still to come however as her abilities always had a finisher- there was always a third strike in the combo. Dashing forward three steps to stand before the Sahagin she raised her katana over head once more. In a panic it struck at her but she ignored the blows, soaking the damage as if she was sure of the next strike. A teal aura started to surround her weapon as if it was being sucked out of her very being. There was a smirk present on her face as she then let loose her power upon the Sahagin who could hardly be considered unsuspecting.
"Seinaru Shinken!" she exclaimed aloud for her final move. The blade came down, cleaved through the Sahagin and exploded blue anima bubbles all over the deck before her. That was the power of the samurai, rapid succession which left the enemy depleted very quickly. With her own Sahagin down she kept a watchful eye for more of them or even further trouble which she could see heading their way. There was at least four more fins in the water that she could see where she was.
"I guess the world of elder tale decided that they were bored of our conversation." she said over the sounds of battle. |

Saskia snickered at Bailin’s comment bout detention and his reference to Lu on the matter. Maybe the girl did deserve some detention. Saskia could recall one time after one of the classes where she thought she saw Luiniel bobbing for apples, but is was possible that she was drained by all the sleep deprivation she put herself through.
“Yeah, as far as treasure goes. I’d just be happy to fine some decent accessories or some fine jewelry. That’d be pretty nice. Maybe a necklace or a bracelet. Earrings are kind of weird...you know..with the wolf ears and all. “ Saskia said as she reach a hand up to feel their odd texture.
Saskia smiled affectionately as Bailin offered up his advice. It was a basic concept, but sometimes it was better to keep things simple.
Saskia raised up an eyebrow at Bailin when he mentioned having a good use for Mitsuru. She squinted her eyes over his facial gestures with uncertainty as to what he meant.
Before she could ask, the Sailor had went on his soap box about his daughter and more tales of death, which sounded like a bit of a bad omen and Bailin’s references didn’t seem to make the situation any better.
“Heh, and here I was thinking that Superman was known as Clark Kent..” She smirked as she raised up both her eyebrows in alert at the sight of a fin in the distance.
“Wait....what the hell is that? A shark?!” She exclaimed as she dashed to the edge of the ship.
After watching the bout between the sailor and the Sahagin, she noticed Bailin ready his firearm and make a witty remark mentioning fish for dinner.
“You know..I always been a seafood kind of gal!” Saskia shouted with a bold smirk as she tilted her head back. “Time to slice ‘em and dice ‘em Lu!” She grinned wickedly as she withdrew her steel sword from it’s royal blue scabbard.
Her eyes went back to the Sahaguins.
“So I guess this is it, huh? You bastards just don’t know when enough is enough, do you?” Saskia huffed as she tilted her chin down, but held her glance up with a sharp murder in her eyes. Her teeth began to growl and she began to clench them hard. A swirling blue aura illuminated from her as she activated [Cool Defense]. Her eyes began to tremor with a crazed bloodlust as the corona of her eye began to spiral into a web of golden malice.
A hand stretched up from her sword arm as she clutched her face and gasped roughly, wincing at the sudden visions that plagued her mind.
“You bastards....you bastards murdered them...” She growled with remorse. “I couldn’t save them...even though I’m supposed to be strong...”
Her body trembled nervously.
“I wasn’t strong enough to rescue them....” She clenched her fist and it vibrated violently as she swung her sword at the air, slicing in front of her.
“I wasn’t strong enough! I’m still weak...but I won’t let there corpses rot in vain you bastards! I’m going to send your ass back to the life stream! And I’m going to do it for them! For those villagers in the grain village that broken bodies lie on the shore. For the wife that would never see her husband again....for the girl that lost her lover....for the child that was snatched from his mothers hand and forced on a pike. And for what you bastards put Rin through! ”
Saskia charged valiantly forward with sharp speed and intensity as her malice spat out like venom as it laced the edge of her blade with each strike that bolstered with crushing fervor.
She dashed forward against the Sahagin as as it lunged it’s trident into her torso, she slammed her heavy great shield forward, tactically blocking it’s blow before she stomped forward as her iron greaves slammed across the wooden deck and he prepared a lunge of her own.
“Get the hell off you, you seaweed eating prick!” Saskia shouted. It would be HIGHLY noticeable that she was far more aggresive than usual.
Saskia relinquished her sword and then viciously headbutt the Sahagin as her wolf hair began to thicken into a radiant pink mane as the vicious lioness prepared for his next strike.
The sahagin swiped his trident forward in another quick thrust, which Saskia negated with an effective [Parry] strike as her sword grazed against the wet metal edge of the trident. She trailed the sword further along until she slammed it against’s the sahagins hand, longing it across the beast thumb, causing it to bleed as the attack didn’t end there.
She ferociously did something out of the ordinary and slammed her forehead into the beast’s face, then proceeded to [Shield Bash] it, interrupting it’s counter attack and used [Fold Step] to boost her momentum as she pushed the beast back with her shield, running it back into the edge of the ship as it’s back collided with the edge of the boat.
As it was hanging on within a thread of it’s life, Saskia ran it through with her sword. As it pierced the veil of the sahagin’s green skin, Saskia twisted and jerked the sword, and as the last of it’s hp began to fade, she wrapped her arms around it’s side and performed a brutal seismic toss as she shouted the words. “GET THE HELL....OFF MY BOAT!” as she hurled it back into the sea where it plunged into the waters and a white glow could be seen below the murky depths as anima bubbles began to rise out of the frigid waters.

His remarks left Saskia snickering, though Luiniel turned away from the conversation. ‘Probably not a fan of the mushy stuff or just been missing out for a long, long time.’ Bailin thought; as he bit back the urge to make yet another remark. “Yes, your cute furry ears.” He grinned as Saskia mentioned the loot she was looking for. Lu remained somewhere far away, sunken in thought, ‘Possibly traumatised by the mushy stuff fom a minute or so ago.’ Bailin thought grinning on the inside. [Break][Break] “Thanks for the compliment and faith in us Lu, we shall try our best not to disappoint.” Bailin said more serious, “And as for leaving our mark on the world: My crafting class is mechanic, so I can definably leave my mark on this world. If you want you could always help me with stuff.” He suggested a lot more joyous. [Break][Break] “Hehe, yes Superman was Clark Kent, but… ah long story.” Bailin started; however, before the conversation could go any further the captain shouted out that they were under attack and the fish monsters came barging out of the water. Without a second thought Bailin had grabbed his rifle and shot one of them twice, nearly depleting its health. [Break][Break] Pulling the bolt back once again, loading a bullet and sliding the bolt forward again Bailin once more took aim at his mark, a nearly dead sagahin. Somewhere near him Lu massacred one of the walking fish, whilst Saskia started shouting taunts at them, only to start saying rather weird things, as if she were having a flashback or needed something to get herself enraged. In this instance it was something about a village and Rin, one of their newer members. This was the first time he had heard about this happening and it would probably come up at a later time but for now it was time for slaughter. [Break][Break] Placing the butt of his gun lightly against his shoulder he took aim at his mark, placing his finger gently on the trigger, softly pulling it as he exhaled. With a known, but oddly soft ‘bang’ the gun sent forth a bullet on a collision course with the sahagin. [Break][Break] Mere moments later the bullet struck home at the creature’s chest; lowering its health even further. ‘One more shot should do the trick.’ He thought as he repeated his actions and launched another shot at the creature, shattering it into anima bubbles. ‘Man, you have got to love Warden skills’ he grinned as he stood up to relocate himself a bit more away from the direct fight. bittersweet. Her own Sahagin was not quite the problem that the captain probably thought they were going to be. While it was not the the last of them she smirked as she watched her gold counter rise a bit. They lived in a world where mass murdering something was a viable means of gaining money and she found it comical to say the least. Shaking the thoughts from her mind, Lu could not allow herself to be distracted in the heat of battle lest she fail her companions in this moment. If something were to happen to the boat or it's captain she would feel personally responsible.
Moving to protect the captain, she watched as two more fins rushed the side of the boat and cut her off. They were intent on taking whatever was aboard this ship down to the depths with them. What they did not count on was the ship being filled with adventurers which were a far harder target than landers. Lu smiled as the familiar attack pattern of launching tridents once more played it's self out on the deck. She gracefully side stepped them this time however and made ready her swords for combat.
Their gutteral chatter sort of annoyed her as they seemed to be communicating between one another. Perhaps they sought a strategy to deal with this small swordsman. Either that or they were talking about how they were going to slay and eat her. That same wicked smirk creeped back onto her lips as she took a single step forward showing them that she was ready for this little skirmish. Gnashing their teeth, the two of them drew blades made from the bones of marine life and advanced upon her.
The first approached as it broke into a run but it made the fatal mistake of leaping before it attacked. In the air one could not easily change it's direction and so she drew her katanas while tracking it's descent. As usual her [Bushido Iaido] skill allowed her to deal increased auto attack damage off of the draw. Stepping forward she would draw her blades in an "X" across the beasts chest and listen for the sound of it crashing to the deck.
Next she would have the second one coming at her from the right side, slight diagonal from where she stood. Two meters and closing but she was ready to deal with this problem as well. Once it was upon her she side stepped the swipe and returned fire with an auto attack of her own. Though to her surprise these beasts were privy to the ability to parry blows. This was the sort of battle she had been seeking for quite some time now; the one where she had to out manuever her foe.
Activating her [Zantetsuken] ability she struck out at the Sahagin but it was not in the attempt to deal damage. Unfortunately the samurai class had a high learning curve and even higher cool downs. This attack was simply used to activate the start of a chain for so that she could use the next skill which would be quite helpful. Taking two quick steps forward, Lu drew her blade and hit the beast with a [Shunsen] which cut horizontally across it's body. On top of staggering it backwards it was now blocked from coming back at her by a wall of pressurized wind.
Last but certainly not least in this chain of skills she activated her [Tsurugi Bunshin] ability which caused her body and blades to become blurs. Whirling around she quickly dealt several strikes to the previous target with steel that it could not keep track of. In only seconds it would become a blue explosion of anima as she turned back to stare the last of her enemies down with a calm smile on her face. Pointing her katana at it she advanced slowly which caused the creature to step back.. right over the rail of the ship.
Lu started to laugh until she heard the noise coming from the deck behind her. It seemed that while she did not need her aide in combat their guild mistress could definitely use some emotional support. Her rage was boiling over and this was far from the healthiest way to deal with it. Glancing over at Bailin for a moment she gave him a confused expression followed by a shrug.
"Are you going to be alright, Saskia?" she asked. |

“I’ll manage...” Saskia sniffed roughly.
There was an icy chill in her words as corona of her golden orbs spun in bloodlust as they gazed out at the enemy forces that swirled in the sea.
On the starboard side of the ship a vile sea creature was encroaching upon the salty sailor, Siegran.
“Oi, off my ship! I didn’t order any fish fillet!” Siegran snarled as he pointed his flintlock pistol over his left shoulder and blasted one of the Sahagins in the snout. “I never was one for seafood. I’m more of a Steak and eggs man, myself! Now beat it!”
The Sahagin gripped it’s face in pain as it stumbled back from the shot and advanced forth with a resilient aggression towards the rugged swasbuckler.
“Oi, I swear if you make me have to take of me hands from this steering wheel, I’ll make sure yours come off!” Siegran shouted as he waved his scimitar at the steadily advancing fish monster.
“You know...my sister choked on fish one day. Killed her dead. I guess it’s only right that I make you choke on me blade! “ Siegran said as he leaped forward and took both of his scimitar into combat.
“You know...my friends always told me that if I keep this pirate game up long enough one day I’d end up swimming with the fishes!” Siegran chuckled. “Well, I’ll be damned. We’re throwing a yacht party on my ship!”
“And I’m serving up samples for the rest of you! I’m tired of the smell of these rotten fishes on this damn boat!” Saskia screamed as she pivoted on her heels and ran forward in a swift motion to unleash a vibrating blue aura as her sword radiated in ultrasonic waves.
This skill sharpened the impact of her sword and allowed it to bypass enemy defenses by lowering the defense of the opponents as she sword became engulfed in a rich blur. Her slice across the sahagin was very clean as the beast murmured in pain as it’s leg was sliced off. The howling wolf of Vylbrand dashed down towards it and plummeted her blade into it’s belly before stabbing it time and time again in anger.
She unleashed her frustrations in a impulsive rage, shattering the mask of the cool, calm and collected guild leader. She needed to blow some steam, and she needed to do it now. It was the only way to numb the pain she held deep within her own heart. She had to retaliate at something. She have to dive down deep within herself to find the source.
For her, right now. The damned fish beasts were the source, and she planned to extinguish their unwelcomed skirmish by sea. The trip was meant to be a gentle one where they could enjoy peaceful conversation during a pleasant cruise. Why did the damn sea monsters have to come by and wreac havoc everywhere they went?
As Saskia withdrew her blade, a larger sea monster from the group emerged, a [Sahagin Brute] leaped forth and tried to plunge his spear into Saskia, but she tumbled out of the way.
As it turned out, that may have been a fatal mistake, because the massive trident the [Sahagin Brute] wielded tore through the chnk of would and poked a hole in the deck of the boat.
Water started to slowly seep out of the small hole and Siegran looked with a face of dramatic turmoil.
“Oi, we’re up shit’s creek without a paddle! Somebody take care of that guy and for the gods’ sake, plug up that damn hole before it gets us all killed!” He panicked. “And by us all, I mean me! Screw you guys and your fancy magic tricks. I ain’t dying in no damn murky depths!” template by caesar

‘So one could say there was something…. fishy about her death?’ Bailin thought as Siegran brought up the death about his sister, refraining from voicing the comment as it would most likely result in him having to avoid an incoming scimitar hurled at his head. [break][break] “You call this a yacht party? And if you want to sleep with the fishes that can be arranged in a far more pleasant way than this… I’m thinking fish tanks with between them a matrass or hammock.” Bailin joked as he observed the fish-on-drugs-and-feet. The creature was huge compared to its comrades and looked at least as menacing as ten of the smaller fishes, muscles bulging with each step, as if it had spent most of its life in a underwater gym, doing nothing but pumping weights. [break][break] Saskia was equally annoyed with the large fish creature as she roared something about being tired of the smell of rotten fish, something that was rather hard to avoid when one was at sea, but it mattered not, the creature had to go and the sooner the better. [break][break] However before any of them could do something the darned fish jabbed a hole in the hull of the ship. Normally one could use the corpse to stop the hull, however as the dead had a knack of dispersing they would have to think of something else, however at the moment priorities were killing the fish-on-feet and after that they could start thinking of a way to plug the hole and stop the ship from sinking. [break][break] “No need to worry captain, some of us could actually swim, maybe we could drag you back to dry land or we should just leave you here so you can sleep with the fishes like they said you would do.” Bailin joked as he activated [steady shot], took aim at the oversized fish and let loose a bullet. With a ‘bang’ the bullet flew out of the muzzle, streaking in a near straight line at the fish, forcefully making its way through the chest of the creature, dealing a nice amount of damage. Pulling the bolt back again Bailin chambered another bullet and sent it flying at the creature, just like he had done before and the times before that. The mechanism and acts of shooting this rifle was easy enough, deadly easy to be precise. ‘Yea, now I understand why they went from bows to muskets and from muskets to riffles.’ He thought as he chambered the next round. bittersweet. We need to end this quickly.
Her thought was an understatement as things were starting to get out of hand rather quickly. Sahagin everywhere, a hole in the boat and it seemed their leader was starting to become unhinged in this battle. There was nothing more dangerous than someone in charge who was not in charge of themselves. Scanning the area she noted that a few more had jumped the railing and a rather massive looking beast of a Sahagin had followed. Lucky enough for her, the cooldown timers on her abilities were done so she could defend herself from the assault.
Turning to face the beast was a bit of a challenge as the moment she did so a giant jet of water left it's mouth. The force from the shot knocked her off of her feet and sent her rolling across the deck with a few bounces. Damn, these bastards hurt. Yet with each hit they only fueld that need to win, stoked the flames of war and turned the samurai into a better killer. "Yeah, she mad." Lu muttered to herself as she stood and drew both katanas with a defiant glare.
A tiny tabi foot pushed off of the deck as she launched herself forward in a full on sprint, swords pointed outward at her sides. She was small and because of that she was fast, a blur thanks to her samurai abilities. There were still a few seconds on it and she had to make it count for something. There was no way she was going to let these sahagin get away with the attrocities they commited elsewhere either even if they didn't affect her as much as they seemed to be affecting the boss.
Epic music started to play as she activated her [Bushi Chosen] ability on the Sahagin Brute who stood before her. The skill was admittedly on the embarassingly flashy side but she figured she would taunt it before the captain was over run by it and it's minions. "Your kind has ruled the shores by fear for too long. We'll drive you back, meter by meter if we must. The seas belong to us now, your kind are not welcome." she shouted as her taunt seemed to sink in and take hold of the brute. At the very least she managed to aggrivate it into focusing her.
With a deadly smirk on her face she sheathed a blade using only her right hand katana. 'Chain one, Bushi Chosen. Chain two, Izuna-giri.' she started in her head, counting the chain abilities as she did them. Raising her sword over her head she powered up the mana required to use her abilities. Launching a blade of pure energy towards the brute, it smashed into the monster and ripped away scale and flash. But she was not finished now, running forward she would use her speed and size to scale the monster by running up it while it staggered.
Leaping into the air, she charged her katana one last time for a powerful blow. Once she was ready she would unleash [Seinaru Shinken] on the brute, a powerful downward slash that dealt massive damage to armored foes like she knew this one to be. While her blows would not finish it off, she wounded it and enraged it. Flailing in pain it's massive hand would connect with the samurai, launching her back across the boat until she crashed into the mast. |

Siegran scowled at the Sahagin brute that stormed the deck of the ship. As the other sahagins stormed onboard, the ship wobbled and the the lander against the steering wheel as the blunt ridges hit him in the gut and he rolled over, falling down into the lower deck on the ship.
He soon realized that he was lying there right under the largest Sahagin Brute on the field just as Bailin was making a rather snide remark.
“I guess knows not a good time ta’ say I dun’ kno ah’ ta’ swim!” Siegran shrieked. “ Not a fan of being shishkabobbed either!” He grunted as his eyes grew wide at the Sahagin that loomed over his head, brandishing his trident.
“Oi, I hope yer’ na thinkin’ abou’ eating Siegran on a stick!” Siegran shoute as he crab walked back into a short wall the led up to the steering panel.
The sahagin brute only responded by stomping over and growling in his face menacingly.
“Oh, that’s how we’re gun’ ta’ play, sweet cheeks? Well I shud’ hav’warned I dun’ kiss on ta’ furs’ date!” Siegran smirked as he withdrew his flintlock pistol and shoved it in the brutes face. “But mah friend ‘ere does!”
A loud bang erupted as his finger pulled back on the trigger. A gust of smoke appeared from the brutes face as it recoiled, slightly.
“Oh, shit yer’ a stubborn one aren’t cha? Well come on you sneaky devil, you wan’ ta run me straight through mah chest well be ma’ guest!” Siegran growled as the Sahagin was just about to raise his trident to strike.
However, the trained marksman, Bailin, was already calculating a shot and sent a piercing round straight through the beast’s chest which shifted the flow of aggro in Siegran’s favor.
“Well, maybe I shudda warned ya I was ah heart breaka’” Siegran smirked with a wink as he started to reload his flint lock pistol.
That was when Luiniel came forth and the Fox Tail Samurai unleashed her animated [Bushi Chosen] ability as victorious song played in the background and she stormed the field in valiant speech.
“Oi, miss yer’ stealin’ mah shine! And hear I was thinkin’ I’d get ta sweep the little lady off her feet with some romance music! You gon’ and ruined mah date!” Siegran chuckled as he snapped the assembly of his pistol back together.
“Alright old girl, less’ dance!” Siegran taunts as he blasts the beast in the foot.
The beasts groans and stammers about the deck.
“There ya go, lass! Just move your feet like that! You’re a natural, darling! “Siegran shouts as he notices the banzai barrage unleashed by the Fox tail as she unleashes her waves of slashes in tandem with the epic music.
“Oh shi’ she dances like the devil! “ Siegran let out a shocked gasp. His eyes then returned to a rather large boulder they were approaching.
“Sorry to cancel on you ladies...but Seabreeze was my first love and she says she wants daddy to come home!” Siegran says as he scuttles to the upper deck and grips the steering wheel.
Meanwhile Saskia Steelheart leaped up off the upper deck and reigned down in a hellfury with an [Ephemerial Guillotine] ability.
“Mind if I cut in on this dance!?!” She growled as she phoenix dived into the Sahagin brute with her sharp 2 handed spear, abandoning her sword and shield after using [Quick swap].
After she skewered the beast she darted back and made her way to Luiniel’s side. She noticed the shift in aggro all direct towards the Fox Tail.
“You got this Lu...Siegran and Bailin, shift fire to the small fries. Luiniel and I got the big guppy!”
“Aye, aye queen of the seas!” Siegran shouted as she shot another Sahagin that was headed up on the deck. Unforntuantely, two more were beginning to swarm him.
“Well, damn, if this is how you’re going to be when I say I’m not giving out any autographs then I guess I’ll just have to sign my name in your blood you thirsty ass creatures!” Siegran shouted.
The water could be seen forming a light puddle in the boat, steady increasing in size.

‘Well, I suppose this is considered as grinding, I don’t mind shooting this but this is just getting insane and insanely daft…Sure there are dangers lurking about still, but currently I feel more like having the system take over rather than waste my time just shooting these damn fish of the ship. It takes about two to four shots to kill the smaller once, the larger ones are still unknown.’ Bailin thought as he aimed his riffle at one of the smaller creatures boarding the ship. [break][break] “Say Saskia, my dear, how about I plan our next trip? A nice day in a forest or perhaps the beach or just the open fields, you know… a place where we are not going to get swarmed by creatures who seem to be rather set on our untimely demise?” Bailin joked as he sent another bullet hurtling towards one of the smaller fish, ignoring the nasty predicaments Siegran seemed to keep finding himself in. [break][break] “Hey Sailor boy, how much further until we reach the land and we can properly rid ourselves of these rather meddlesome creatures? They are worse than the average door-to-door-salesperson I know.” Bailin yelled out to Siegran, whilst preparing for another shot. Luckily for him both the guardian and samurai drew more than enough attention to themselves for the fish to perceive him as a serious enough of a threat to be bothered with him. [break][break] Slowly Bailin noticed the slightest bit of wetness on his knee, interrupting his shooting party to check the source of the puddle, only to find out the water that came pouring through the hole had slowly became more and more. [break][break] “Folks, we’d better hurry up and plug that hole, else poor old Siegran will most likely go down with the ship…” Bailin yelled out, as to urge his companions to go all out before they would have to either swim back the entire bit or just let themselves drown and respawn again. bittersweet. It was most unfortunate that these aquatic brutes decided to cut into their journey. Now it seemed that no only would they be delayed but they might actually sink as well which didn't sit well with her. Lu had a fear of water if she could not see clear down to the bottom and out here it definitely fit the description. With this in mind she refocused her determination to win here and took a moment to scan her surroundings.
The small Sahagin were wiped, most of them retreating if they were not outright killed by Bailin's rifle. That left the brute which she was sure Saskia could handle the remaining health he left if she decided to disengage. It was honestly in their best interest that she did so or else they were going to find themselves in a world of trouble. In the water the Sahagin had the advantage so they would definitely die if that were the case. Now was a bad time to regret not taking the fisherman class.
"I am going to disengage from the brute. The hole in the boat is becoming a bigger problem than this fight. Protect the captain while I figure out how to close it." she said. From the sound of her voice it seemed that these were not polite suggestions but what sounded like a field leader giving orders. Saskia seemed in no mental condition to lead the expedition at this point so she felt that she had to take over as she did not suffer from the rage.
Resheathing her weapons she bowed to Saskia and ran off in search of materials to fix the ship. Surely the captain was not without some spare planks and tools to make make shift repairs until he got into the harbor. If he was then he was a terrible captain and should be relieved of duty immediately lest he get someone killed out here on the waters. The fox tails search was frantic below deck as she threw things around in search of the three items she needed to aid their struggles.
They were going to drown, that was it. The thought kept running across her mind but now was not the time. The idea of drowning when it took them so long to die caused her to shudder somewhat. Would they feel the intense pain that probably came along side such a thing? It was almost enough to cripple someone with anxiety when you thought about it. Pushing the thought out of her mind, Lu managed to find some spare planks but now she needed nails to aid her.
"Where are the nails?!" she shouted from the top of the steps that lead below deck. |

The raging winds began to slice through the air that brushed Saskia’s cheek as the chilling breeze grew more fierce by the moment.
“The winds starting to pick up! I thought the weather was suppose to be clear, Siegran!”
Saskia shouted back as whipped her blade around and held it out to her right, prancing around the demonic fish soldier that stood before her. Her eyes cast a fiery gaze at the vicious sea creature that screeched at her blaring out the odd webbed fins that protruded from it’s neck.
“Oi, don’t go blaming me for what the Gods have done! Maybe we’ve gone and pissed them off!”
Siegran shoute back as he shifted his scimitar into the belly of a smaller Sahagin that tried to flank their position. The Scimitar was coated in an animated greenish blood that seeped from the enemy’s wound as he shoved it back with a fierce kick.
“Rumor has it that the weather is always pretty bad around this area. Maybe the darn island is cursed! I’m willing to bet a flagon of my finest ale!”
Saskia’s eyes hurled toward Bailin as the crack of gunfire escaped his rifle. He seemed to be wearing his signature coy smile during trivial circumstances such as these.
“And here I was thinking that you’d enjoy a little target practice. I thought nothing sooths the soul like going fishing with a Rifle!” Saskia taunted as she retreated back towards the helm of the ship.
Her other partner, Luiniel seemed to share her distraught concern to gather nails and find some way to close up the hole on the ship. However, the ever darkening sky would prove that the sinking ship was going to be the least of their worries. The rampaging pitch black clouds seemed to engulf the sky in a dreary and morbid fashion highlighting a gloomy and dark ambiance over the shipmates as they tried to desperately defend their ship.
Ghastly sharp cerulean blue bolts crackled through the sky and thunderous booms echoed from above. The sensation of the tenacity of the furious lightning bolts that fell from the sky inspired frightening thoughts as they landed in close proximity to the ship.
The fiery aggression in Saskia’s eyes faded as a timid gaze drifted upward to the heavens as her heart began to jump in her chest for fear of the current situation. She felt splattersof wet droplets on her face as a sudden downpour of rain collapsed from the sky in a rather violent torrent.
Her lips quivering, Saskia shouted to Bailin. “Keep the big one off me, I’ve got to get to the nails in the supply room!”
Racing to the lower corridor she tried to open the door, but the handle only wiggled. Saskia wrapped both hands on it frantically trying to force it open, but to no avail.
“Oi, supply rooms locked. You got to use the key. Just hold on a sec...” The salty pirate yelled as he scrambled to search his pockets for the key. “Ah, here she is lass, catch!” He said as he tossed it through the dark sky at her.
Saskia could see the shimmering glint of the key’s silver as it twirled in the sky and she cupped out her hands to catch them.
It should have been a solid catch. Or at least it would have been, had not a sharp torrent of a giant wave crashed into the ships side, which rocked the crew and Saskia’s body forcing her to stumble over and for the key to plummet into the depths of the several inches of murky water that had already begun to fill the ship.
“Oh, you got to be freaking kidding me! Saskia shouted as she tried to pat down the wooden boards nearby to try to search for the key.
Taking notice that the water was rising, she gritted her teeth. She knew she had no other choice.
“Siegran....I hope you have insurance!!” Saskia shouted as she gripped her blade tightly.
“Wait...wait, just wait, are you mad!?! Hat in the seven hells are you thinking! Not my ship!!!”
It was too late however, Saskia had already begun to illuminate a crimson red as her life enrgy slowly sleep away for a partial amount. It seemed like the crimson red aura that seeped from her body channeled itself in her sword as she swiped forward in a 180 degree arc and ruptured the top half of the room that led to the supply room with a violent swing that allowed terrain damage.
After huffing for a moment, she vaulted over the broken wood and made her way to where the supplies were housed.
“Alright...we haven’t much time....let’s try to patch this up and be quick about it before the storm get’s worse!”

“Wait, why are both of you running away? I showered last year!” shouted the grinning Warden as he sent off another bullet, his mana slowly depleting. If it were to deplete he would have to resort to cartridges, items he’d rather not use because they were generally not that easy to come by. His two companions were on the hunt for some nails and other items to repair the ship leaving him and the Lander called Siegran to fend of the horde of walking fish with just the two of them. Saskia had ruined the door to the hold, hoping to find the items required to save the ship, and its passengers, from re-enacting the Titanic in warmer waters or taking sleeping with the fish a tad too literal. [break][break] “So remember my dears, it will be at the last place you look.” Bailin shouted out joking before he shot once again. This time however, he missed, about as much as he missed the walking fish that had snuck upon him and smacked him hard with their sorry excuse for a weapon. The darn thing however, hurt quite a bit as the Warden shook his head. The damage was not that big of a deal, however the blow to his ego was all the more severe. Using the skill [quick swap] Bailin switched from his trusty riffle to his trusty sabre. “I do hope you two are going to be ready soon, I fear I lack the skills and chips to do something useful with these fishes.” Bailin joked, feeling hurt about his rookie mistake of being snuck upon, by a walking fish.
