| Deep in the center of Londinium in the mist of the winding cobble streets and the aging modern buildings that were cast throughout the wonderful Elder Tale city say an average crumbling brick building. It had been around for quite some time, the features even crumbling before the event that had caused Elder Tales to become a reality. Above the oval shaped door hung a brightly coloured sign or at least had once been brightly coloured. Now however the sign paled in comparison to what it had once been, still if you squinted and tilted your head at the right angle you could still kind of make out the name; The Conjuress' Potion.
Before the event it had been a popular hang out for rare level trades or important none guild related meet ups. However once the event had struck the world and food and alcohol no longer held their same taste, the bar was only frequented by people of the land for a short time before the owners managed to revamp their business by transforming most of the upstairs into bedrooms for the now abundant homeless adventurers and managing to craft food and drink that held flavor. Over the past year, the amount of adventurers that had frequented the bar had increased but it paled in comparison to prev event years.
Zyrune had often stayed at the place before he had joined the House Of Crown guild and found that he enjoyed the calm and relaxing atmosphere that allowed one to forget their troubles and lose themselves in the soft tunes of bards who played there daily. It was nice and warm especially nice due to the fact that the warmer weather still hadn't kicked in just yet. Sitting at corner table the druid tried his best to still his nerves. He had invited the foxtail Jacoben to join him. Staring into the swirling liquid of the drink that sat in his cup, he couldn't help but wonder if the foxtail would make an appearance. The reason for the meeting had been Zyrune's as he had acted like a complete idiot and a spoiled brat during the coconia festival. It had started with Tadashi, the lander whom he had become close friends with and brief lovers.
During the festival they had run into the fox tail and well the lander had picked attentions of the quiet foxtail over a rather attention seeking druid that day and although he was still deeply hurt by the lander who he had considered a very close friend, he regretted his actions more towards the foxtail and towards a rather innocent monk named Shuwen who had been caught in the cross hairs.
As the door to the tavern opened the druid's grip on his cup tightened and he readied himself only to watch as a rather average looking lander woman approached the tavern bar. Letting out a soft sigh, Zyrune knew it wasn't going to be an easy thing to do, but he needed to do it, not only because he had acted like an idiot, but also because he couldn't let himself be remembered for the way he had acted, plus he wanted to make sure that things between him and Jacoben were okay. Who knew what the foxtail thought of him at this stage.
Frowning Zyrune once again stared at his reflection in his cup trying to find the right way to say - Hi I know I made an ass of myself when my then boyfriend started showing you attention and ignoring me and then dumped me even though he never said a word and got with you, but please accept my apology for being a dramatic fool, I wish you the best and I hope things between us are alright- in his head.
The druid sighed as he leaned back against the booth and let his shoulders drop. He still didn't understand why things had happened when they had, but there was no going back now, they could only move forward and despite his current mixed feelings towards Tadashi which consisted of him hating him but also wishing he was there beside him, he needed to let the foxtail know that Zyrune wouldn't stand in there way, nor did he feel any ill feelings towards him. Jacoben was a fairly alright adventurer at least in Zyrune's eyes.
The druid didn't know much about him due to the foxtail's penchant for being a shy person, but it also made him seem cute and innocent and if things had gone differently maybe they would have been better friends. Still as he finally brought the cup to his lips and let the warm tea pass his lips, he couldn't help but wonder if the dual eyed foxtail would arrive or would he ignore the druid's invitation due to fear of what Zyrune might do.

Jacoben wasn't sure why he had come here, the simple note he had gotten had caused his insides to writhe and squirm with heavy dread. Perhaps it was his inherent desire to make things right that prevented him from throwing away the invitation and going about his day as though nothing had happened. Another factor was surely his desire for closure, the fact that whatever issue was between Zyrune and himself was unfinished bothered him immensely and he needed to get it over and done with before he could continue properly, for better or for worse.
Things with Tadashi were....odd. It wasn't the perfect romance people pictured when they thought of such situations. Jac was so self conscious and still couldn't really believe that someone had picked him over someone else, which made things awkward at times, not to mention the fact that he was still sure that Zyrune would convince the Lander of his mistake and the duo would go off on their own. This meant that he wasn't able to commit emotionally one hundred percent until he was sure that it wouldn't break his heart within a few weeks. That didn't mean it was bad, not by a long shot, but the Sorcerer was constantly surprised by the situation and his nerves hadn't really settled ever since that first kiss. Jane had noticed, but he'd managed to evade her queries for the time being.
His hand rested on the handle to the bar as he steeled himself for the meeting, part of him wishing that his robes had a hood he could hide behind so he didn't have such an exposed face. Stepping in to the drinking establishment he spotted the Druid very quickly, the unmistakeable pink hair standing out amidst a sea of more common colours (at least as far as Japanese created games went). He slowly trudged forward, jaw clenched nervously and unable to look the larger male in the eyes. At least the other Adventurer couldn't hurt him here for fear of calling in the Royal Guard, so he was fairly confident that the only abuse he might get was going to be verbal.
Carefully he slid into the booth across from Zyrune, keeping himself on the edge of the bench so that he could leave quickly should things become sour. Fidgeting slightly he found himself completely unable to look at Zyrune as the sensations in the pit of his stomach became unbearable, nervousness and guilt warring within his body as his mind played out a number of horrible situations that might occur now that he was in the sight of the one who had been left in favour of Jacoben. He couldn't blame the Druid if he was angry for such a thing, even if the Foxtail had actively discouraged Tadashi interest for as long as possible.
"You wanted to see me...?" he began quietly, fingers lacing together in an attempt to prevent his nerves from showing. Soon enough a mug was placed before him by one of the staff and a coin taken to pay for it, his hands wrapping around it to give him something to keep him grounded in the potential argument to come. He called it an argument but he got the feeling that any yelling that occured would only come from Zyrune, as he doubted that there was much the other man could say that would make him legitimately angry at this point.

As the tavern door opened once more, Zyrune's hands tightened around the warm cup as much as he could without risk of break it. Taking a deep breath, he refused to look up. He couldn't stand this wait, it was bad enough that foxtail was now going out with his ex lover but did he really have to keep the druid waiting? As the sound of soft foot steps increased towards his table, the half-alv's heart began to race. Run just run, you don't have to do this, just go and forget this. That was what his mind desperately tried to tell him and yet he was frozen, like a deer caught in headlights he sat there as the person slowly approached his table.
Gulping down a ball of nerves, he focused on the steaming liquid that sat between his hands as a body slid into the booth opposite him. Closing his eyes for a moment, Zyrune tried to calm himself. He needed to calm down, none of what had happened was the sorcerers fault, he had neither actively participated in nor had he encouraged Tadashi's advances, each and every single advance had been the lander's choice and each and every single act of attention the druid had caused in return had been Zyrune's.
Taking a breath as that gut wrenching pain sat in the pit of his stomach he gazed towards the other adventurer expecting to see someone confident, someone who was here to listen for a moment for the sake of it and then leave. But as he studied the small foxtail it was clear that wasn't the case. If anything the man was just as nervous and possibly if not more scared than the druid was about this meeting, maybe he thought Zyrune wished to attack him or abuse him or tell him lies about Tadashi, maybe he felt guilty about that night, maybe not. But the look on his face, the look that rested behind those sparkling dual eyes gave him comfort in a way, he wasn't on his own feeling like a nervous wreck.
"Jacoben," The druid began once the server had come and gone, his voice was weak and he wasn't even sure the magic caster had even heard him. It stung to say his name. Closing his eyes once more, he desperately tried to steady his heart and mind, each was racing a mile a minute and neither of them were adding anything positive to the situation. Breathing out a soft breath he opened his eyes but this time focused on the man's small hands as the cradled a cup. "..." As he went to speak his eyes welled up almost instantly, but Zyrune refused to cry, not in front of Jacoben, not when he needed to fix things, not only for the foxtail and Tadashi but for himself. "I'm sorry." The words were brief but heavy with emotion. The druid paused for a moment and took a quick sip of his tea to try and moisten his rapidly drying throat. "During the..." He paused. "I.." He paused again. "I want to.." Again he paused. DAMN IT WHY WAS THIS SO HARD!!! Swallowing hard, he took a deep breath before exhaling. "I'm sorry I acted like a spoiled brat when things didn't go my way." The sentence was rushed but at least it got it out. "I'm sorry I uh.." He looked up into the foxtail's eyes unsure of what he would say. "Blamed you."
That was the most honest thing the druid could say. It had been true, when things with Tadashi went south it had all started with the foxtail. But it wasn't his fault, every choice after that accidental trip and even before had been done by Tadashi and Zyrune and instead of taking responsibility he had directed all that anger towards the innocent man sitting opposite him. It hurt like hell to say it, even more so to wait wondering what the man might respond. It was far easier to hate him, to scream and shout at him and to blame him, but that was wrong and he couldn't do that and live with himself, he also couldn't live with himself if he didn't apologize for his actions.

When Zyrune called his name, and it was his name now after a year of wearing it, his eyes flicked up at last to see someone who was not nearly so angry as he had originally anticipated. The voice too did not have as much condemnation as expected, it even seemed somewhat hesitant as though the Half-Alv was not particularly confident in this meeting. Even though a lump of dread formed in his chest at the recognition part of him relaxed slightly at the fact that the Druid wasn't immediately verbally attacking him, it boded well for his mental and emotional health at the end of their meeting.
The apology that followed floored him, so unexpected that he almost gaped incredulously as he tried to process the fact that the other male hadn't laid the blame on him and had even admitted to doing something wrong. It took him more than a few moments to actually respond, his brain eventually catching up to events and allowing him to move forward. "I... your apology is accepted," he said finally, his words tinged with a Scottish burr but not strong enough to influence his words unduly. "I'm sorry for how everything turned out... I tried my hardest to dissuade him, even getting you to perform was supposed to make him pay attention to you instead of me..."
Here the Sorcerer grimaced, because he had given in at the end and that embarrassed him. "I'm also sorry I wasn't stronger...I..." he trailed off in shame, ears drooping sadly as he stared into his mug of cider, "I've never had anyone show me that sort of interest before, it was overwhelming and he seemed so earnest." The Foxtail sighed and said nothing more for the moment, unable to drink through the unsettled feelings that coursed through him even though he would have dearly loved to use it as an excuse not to focus on the other Adventurer.
It was like they were fated to keep making stupid mistakes around each other. Neither their first or second meetings went too well all things considered, considering Zyrune's attitude and Jacoben's opinion of the Half-Alv during their first meeting and then the myriad of issues that sprung up during their second. Tapping his teeth together for a few moments, Jac gathered his courage in a rare display of social forwardness and held out his hand across the table. His heart thumped heavily against his ribcage even as he opened his mouth to talk, "My name is Jacoben Imble, it's nice to meet you properly, let's be friends." To emphasise his statement he quickly brought up the interface with his other hand and sent the Druid a friend request.
Since they had gotten off on the wrong foot now, he figured that the best thing to do was just start off properly and ignore the past. Hopefully Zyrune would not only understand what he was trying to do but also agree to it, otherwise he was going to feel very awkward very quickly and probably retreat back into his shell. It was taking a remarkable amount of courage for him to keep his hand held out without shaking, but he wasn't going to screw this up this time. For his sake, and Tadashi's, he was going to try and clear the air between himself and the pink haired Half Alv and if that didn't work then at least he could walk away with a clear conscience. They had to meet half way after all.

As he waited for a response each second felt like an eternity. Millions of responses swam through the druid's mind all at once. One mistake was enough for the half-alv, one mistake and a whole lot of embarrassing dread. However as the foxtail spoke, his voice soft and yet loud enough for him to hear spoke volumes. Wide blue eyes shot up to focus on the sorcerer. ~He accepted it~ The druid's body collectively gave a sigh of relief as he stared at the man unsure what to say or do now. However as he continued to talk, he felt his body stiffen involuntarily at the reference to the lander.
The pink haired healer gave a soft shurg which seemed to round all of his thoughts together in that manner, he needed more than anything to come across as clam, collected and okay with what had happened, that was the best thing to do right? Shaking his head e gave a soft smile, okay well it was a half smile. "Sometimes you can't stop fate." He replied casually as a dull ache surged through his body. He had been so nervous about apologizing and so focused on the events of that night before he left, that he had never really given much consideration to what the two had done after he had left.
He sat there for a moment worries about things he had no control over as the foxtail gave some insight into why he had allowed the kiss. It made sense and he couldn't exactly be angry at Jacoben for letting himself feel love and affection and he couldn't exactly punish him for it. Of course his body and mind wished that it had been him and not the foxtail but even as he sat across from him now, the grey haired man had a look about him. The kind you want to pull close and just never let go. Since that very first day, the druid had never really been left with a good impression of the foxtail but it was only after further reflection that opinion had been formed by a mind stricken in panic and worry and trying to deal with an impossible situation the best it could, it held no basis for an actual opinion of the man.
In truth the foxtail was cute but not in an intentional sense, everything he did seemed unintentional, the kind that you wished you could on your best day you could appear like. He was also nice and considerate and this shyness and boyish charm that made you want to take the lead in his presence. It didn't help that in this world the boy had a set of ears and a tail, not to mention those eyes and it just seemed to add to that aura he held around him so effortlessly. Zyrune wished he could have that sense of presence, instead he had a knack for attracting the wrath of people down on top of him simply by speaking. He remembered how Steel had literally insulted him and embarrassed him in front of an entire group of adventurers and people of the land because he had shown a slight bit of confidence when he introduced himself and yet when Bailin and the rest had done the same, Steel had welcomed them with open arms. No matter what he did, or how he went about it, the druid never seemed to be able to win people over without a great deal of effort and careful ministration of his actions.
That was partially why this whole ordeal with Tadashi was so painful. Tadashi had literally been the only person second to his sister who had just accepted him, who had never reacted negatively towards him or made him feel bad for simply being himself, it figured that acting like a completely crazy jealous wreck over run with emotions would be the thing that drove the tall lander away.
"My name is Jacoben Imble, it's nice to meet you properly, let's be friends."
Surprised rolled over the druid like a steamroller and for a moment he stood there wide eyed and open mouth just staring at the hand in front of him. He could feel pools of tears well up in his eyes from days of pent up emotion buried in a shallow grave by that calm facade brought to the fore by this simple act of kindness from the sorcerer. He couldn't help it, it started in his chest and made it's way to his mouth. The druid let out a chuckle of relief before he clasped the shorter man's hand, it may have been just a handshake but as the friend notification appeared on his interface, his face was full of gratitude. The sorcerer may not have known it, but he was the only one to send the druid a friend notification since Elder Tales became their new life.
"Zyrune," The druid smiled, tears of emotions occasionally falling over his cheek bones. "It's nice to meet you Jacoben." He sniffled and tried to stop the tears with a swipe of his arm, but it didn't really have the desired effect.

The long moments between his offer and its acceptance were some of the most nerve wracking he had experienced, his heart pounding within his chest as he waited for some indication from the Druid as to whether or not his offer was accepted. It was an uncharacteristically outgoing action on his part and he was already beginning to regret it. Why on earth would Zyrune accept such an offer from the person who had inadvertently stolen his lover? It was practically inconceivable to the young Foxtail that this could end on a positive note, but he intended to try his best to make it so.
To his surprise the response was far more positive than he had been expecting, and Jacoben saw for perhaps the first time the tears of one whose emotions cannot be contained from the outside. Usually it was he that found himself crying just to release the overwhelming feelings which had filled him, and now he could see that Zyrune too had this issue. Perhaps they were much more alike than he had originally assumed, which might account for Tadashi's tastes if he thought about it for a moment. Shaking his head to dismiss the inappropriate thoughts in the face of a somewhat distressed man, Jacoben began to rummage through his pockets in search of something.
"Where did I.... ah! There!" he muttered to himself as he finally located the object of his search, pulling a soft white handkerchief from an inner pocket of his robe and handing it to Zyrune so that the pink haired man could wipe his tears away and clean himself up without any embarassment. Jacoben would look away to give him some time to compose himself without scrutiny, knowing from experience that it was often the best thing for someone who had been brought to tears for such a reason.
Allowing a few more moments to pass the Foxtail took a sip of his cider at last, finally feeling confident enough that this meeting would end positively that the knot of worry in his torso had unwound considerably. It wasn't entirely gone, but it was definitely on its way out and would likely be gone soon enough. So it was with a much lighter heart he turned his attention to the larger male and ponder what to do next. He wasn't exactly a social dynamo and he had used up a lot of his energy in just getting them to this stage, so he was beginning to draw blanks.
"I suppose we should probably get to know each other now..." he began, trying to determine if he was being too blunt and ignorant of what he was doing. He wasn't quite sure where to go from here, particularly since their current point of similarities stemmed from the fact that Tadashi had been interested in both of them, and even he wasn't so socially inept to think that talking about the Lander would be a particularly comfortable discussion topic. No, they definitely needed to find a few different areas of interest for the both of them to ensure safer conversation.

| A sigh of relief escaped the half-alv's lips as he took the handkerchief from the greyhaired foxtail. Wiping his face, the druid couldn't help but feel bad for ruining the man's item, but he had offered it so he couldn't expect to not have it dirty. It was a strange to see Jacoben so out going, it all of the encounters which were few in many that the druid had with the dual eyed foxtail, the man had been shy and withdrawn, seemingly enjoying any lack of attention that he could escape in. This outward gesture of friendship was quite the opposite of what Zyrune had expected from him and yet as he looked at him, the look seemed to suit him, perhaps more so than the shy boyish look he so normally held.
After Zyrune cleaned up somewhat and a small silence over took the too. He realized that now the two were left with a lull. He had only planned to apologies, not have a casual conversation with the foxtail over drinks. The realization left the pink haired druid uneasy, he didn't want to force the issue of them getting to know one another and he didn't want to just get up and leave either. Still it was rather odd to think of things that they could both talk about or perhaps be interested in while staying clear of the topic of Tadashi, or perhaps at least for the moment.
Zyrune smiled softly despite his pulse racing and his head pounding with the built up emotions. Still at least the fox tail was trying, it seemed he too was at a loss for what to talk about. Then it hit the druid and his eyes flickered to the other and he smiled while his fingers nervously felt the handkerchief. "So what has changed in the last year?" The druid smiled again, though it was clear to him and he guessed anyone watching them that the druid was somewhat in uncomfortable territory. Other than seeing the sorcerer at the lunar coconia festival, there had been a year in which neither of the two had seen one another.
Zyrune had spent most of that time leveling and exploring in an effort to prove his worth not only to himself, his sister but also to his guild House Of Crowns and the Illusive Saber who had saved barely a month after that first day. A lot had happened to the druid and a significant portion of that hadn't been very pleasant. He his mind swarm with thoughts and experiences that he had had. He remembered the served hand that the young lander girl had chopped off an attacker during a pvp fight in the savill gardens, the masked monk who had attacked him, Saber who had dashed in to saved him, the quest to explore the temple of tides, two quests to the Misama Realms in which he had been paired up with an ignorant and aggressive bully of an adventurer Steel, he could recall that little tea shop where his summon had insulted everyone that wasn't stick thin much to the druid's horror.
Yes a lot had happened and it was ignorant of him to think that similar things hadn't happened to the Sorcerer. What struck him most was how much the druid had died. So far he had died three times since this strange new world had become a reality, and each time he had experienced that dream. He couldn't help wonder if the foxtail had died and if so what he had dreamed of, was his dream as despairing as the druid's? "Do you still hang out with that short woman and the bard?"

Jac sipped at his drink in an effort to fill the silence for a few moments, the cider warming his insides as such drinks were wont to do. His heart felt lighter now that they had cleared the air, the weight on his chest that had been there since he had gotten Zyrune's note had been almost painful in its intensity and now that he knew that they Half-Alv didn't hate him that weight was gone. Perhaps they would be able to properly start now, rather than the mistaken impressions and problems that seemed to plague them in their prior meetings. The Druid didn't know it, but Jac had very few people on his friend list, and Zyrune was the first of those that the Sorcerer had initiated it with.
"Ah? Oh...well, not much really..." the Foxtail responded in embarrassment at the query that was put to him. "I found a place to stay, tinkered around with my crafting, made some short trips into the surrounding zones but I haven't exactly lived up to the name 'Adventurer' I suppose." He had trained a bit, and revelled in his magic, but it hadn't been a focus of his unlike many of the others who had been stuck in the Elder Tales world. Instead Jac had simply focused on finding out as much as he could about how to live a new life here. He had explored every nook and cranny of Londinium that he could (some higher level monsters stopped him from going some places) and learned the ins and outs of this new world.
Of high adventurers and epic tales he had little to share. For all his lofty status as an immortal warrior in this world, he had been more focused on becoming a better fit in it rather than going out for treasure and glory. His crafts kept him busy enough and also helped provide for his lifestyle, which meant he hadn't had a burning need to go out and be a proper adventurer. Having said that he was becoming more and more inclined to go deeper out into the world and grow stronger as time passed, the feeling magnified immensely after he had developed his second tail.
It was almost as though crossing that threshold made him want to go further and further to the end, where before he was content as he was...
The follow up question was more easily answered. "I haven't seen that bard since, but Jane and I were friends outside of the game so we've stayed together, at least for the most part. Obviously we're not glued to the hip though, otherwise you'd have seen her by now," he responded, managing not to mention the Coconia Festival for fear of breaking the peace. They had agreed to be friends, and bringing up the events with that sort of painful potential was not something that friends did.
"What about you? You're much stronger than you were when we first met, so you must have been doing something interesting." the young Foxboy declared earnestly. Zyrune was definitely a higher level than he, and it would interest him to find out what the pink haired Druid had been up to.

| The druid happy that his question saved him for speaking for a few moments, cradled his cup in his hands letting the cup's heat transfer to his hands before pressing it to his lips, letting the sweet warm liquid pass his lips, he nodded in response to the foxtail. It was strange how different their lives had been since that first day. It was news to the half-alv that Jacoben and the short guardian knew each other in their past lives. He had presumed that groups of people who knew each other had been trapped here along with everyone else, but Jacoben seemed to be the only one he was aware of. Zyrune couldn't help but feel slightly jealous, things might have gone a lot smoother for him if someone he knew had been trapped, however his server team hadn't logged on or least that he was aware of, then again no of them had added each other so then again they all could have been trapped and might not know who was who due to everyone going by their usernames.
The druid blew air across his tea watching it create ripples in the steaming liquid as Jacoben returned the favor by asking about the druid's past year. It was true that he had leveled beyond his expectations and thankfully too due to the number of enemies that he had unexpectedly managed to accumulate during the past year. His eyes saddened over as hard memories flickered across his mind. Running his tongue over his lips to moisten them, he rest his cup on the table staring into the liquid, unable to look at the soft porcelain fair of the foxtail as he talked. "I didn't really have much of a choice." He began with a shrug. "The past year hasn't been easy for me, I don't regret it, but it hasn't been easy." He gave a half smile. "Soon after the first week I um.." He paused the smile disappearing from his face. "I came across my first group of player killers." He let his words hang in the air.
"I helped those in trouble and went on my way," He gave a chuckle. "A month past and I ran into some more, but these guys were not like the first, they were strong and vengeful." He gave a smile as he recalled Saber. "I was rescued by an adventurer by the name of Saber and soon after he invited into his guild." The smile on the druid's face was very similar to a loving one, he saw the warrior as his savior, his idol and his friend. "Since then I swore I'd never let this world get the best of me and I started training. I need to be strong, if not for myself, for everyone else." He gave a chuckle and a shrug. "Since then I've fallen into so many battles, quests and adventures. I've done so much I didn't even think was possible before."
He leaned back against his chair. "I can't help it, it just seems to happen. I've done a lot of good things during the past year and some bad ones." He shuddered for a moment. "I've died once, it isn't a good thing to experience." He caught the foxtail's gaze as if studying his reaction for a moment. "Through out that I only real had one constant." He swallowed, shaking his head. The half-alv's hands were shaking slightly now as and he fought to steady them as emotions boiled to the surface. Pushing them down, he gave another half smile. "I started a small shop in the crafting area of town for when I haven't managed to fall into an adventure that is." Zyrune gave a smile as he tried to direct the topic in safer territory, he wasn't sure if he could listen to the foxtail talk about his ex lover just yet. "I'm not anyway skilled to make battle ready armor just yet, but I can tailor some good vanity pieces."

"Any treasure you obtain without ever having to work for it is no treasure at all."
|
Jac listened attentively to Zyrune's tale, a thoughtful look on his face as he considered the differences between their lives over the last year and a bit. It was somewhat strange to think that they had basically started at the same point just before the Apocalypse and now they had taken such a different route in their lives. He didn't regret his own path of course, he had put his roots down in Londinium and amongst the People of the Land over the year, becoming more accustomed to them and their way of life than other Adventurers might have.
Perhaps he was on his way to earning the status as a meddling wizard amongst the more populous People of the Land, that would be something. Of course he would need to find something to actually meddle in, rather than simply learning from them and tinkering with various art forms in his little workshop.
The Foxtail didn't want to ask about how death worked in this world, he wasn't sure he wanted to know the answer, it was a morbid topic and one that had the potential to scare him too much. Instead he focused on the other words, the stories that were much more positive rather than negative. "What is it like, being in a guild?" he asked curiously, "I've never been in one so I don't know how they function in this setting." He knew the very basics of the way such organisations functioned, but he couldn't figure out whether or not they actually lived up to the way the Players Guide had explained them.
Regardless of the answer he got, he would continue to add his commentary to Zyrune's story, one particular phrase sticking out in his mind. "Everything that has happened since we woke up here hasn't seemed possible, and yet here we are as somewhat immortals who can achieve incredible feats of power and magic," a wry grin spread across his youthful features as he considered the rest of Zyrune's words. His grin vanished when he heard the hesitation, and his mind swiftly filled in the blank words that were abandoned by the Druid. His one constant had probably been Tadashi, and now Tadashi had moved on.... it was enough to make the Foxtail feel guilt all over again.
He kept it from his body language however, and continued to converse as though he hadn't had a revelation on the mental status of his new friend. "Tailoring is a good craft, everyone could use some more variety in their casual clothing. I mean, I kind of wear the same thing all the time personally, but others undoubtedly like the variety. I'm not sure my own craft is quite so desired, but it's kind of fun to be an artisan. There are a few different avenues I'd like to explore soon now that I've learned some new methods from the Landers," he had come to this world with knowledge of paint and clay and pencil, but from discussion with Lander artisans he had also picked up skills in stone and wood carving, and recently he had even learned methods for crafting with metal like gold and silver.
Sure, he could have simply used the interface to craft such things, but experience had taught the adventurers that having foundational skills in an area outside of the interface meant you could do a whole lot more with your craft than if you didn't. Since he hadn't learned such foundation skills in his previous life the Artisan had sought out the most logical individuals to teach him how in this one, that being the various Landers of Londinium and the surrounding villages. Not every trip had yielded fruit, but enough had that he was satisfied with his level of basic knowledge to start working on different kinds of art.

The pink haired druid sat with the warm cup between his hands for a moment considering the fox tail's question for a moment. "A guild I've found is better than being alone. It is a family of sorts however it is shaped and you get a secure place to stay and contacts and added resources that you may never had access to before." He paused for a moment, his fingers absently tapping on the cup. "It's a lot of work though, you have to look after one another and the guild and you lose some of the freedom you would have had before, plus you take the guild's reputation on your shoulders however good or bad that may be." Bringing the cup to his lips and savoring another sip, he set it down and shook his head. "I didn't join because of that though. I joined because of Saber, he is stronger, stronger than a lot of adventurers I've seen anyway and well I honestly think he wants the best for the city." He gave a shrug as he let the sorcerer continuing talking, nodding in agreement where necessary.
"I was an artisan," The half alv spoke, his voice low, biting his lip he shrugged. "I changed to become a tailor soon after we got stuck here." He sighed thinking about it. He had only chosen an artisan due to the money he could make when it was just a game, however it became a reality, the need to paint and the desire for it too seemed to wash away from the druid, he didn't want to capture the beauty of the world on a canvas, no he wanted to be able to live in it.
Normally sub class change scrolls were quite expensive, but the druid had received money from Saber after he had saved him. The money had been intended to provide food and shelter for the druid, but Zyrune didn't want it to be wasted. How did that saying go, give a man some fish and he will be fed for a day, teach a man how to fish and he can feed himself. That was certainly true for Zyrune anyway. If he had spent the money on food and shelter, it would have been gone in a number of days and he would have been no better off afterwards, however by changing his sub class, he was able to find a new passion and a way to make money for himself while improving his position within this world.
"I managed to set up a small shop in the crafting area of town." It was clear he was proud of the achievement as he couldn't contain his smile. "I have a good amount of customers and it passes time." He paused for a moment looking down at his cup for a moment. "I could show yo sometime if you liked." He gave a shrug as if to say he didn't really mind if the sorcerer didn't want to. "I could even make you something if you wanted, free of charge of course." The druid gave a wink which made the comment seem more friendlier than he had intended, so he furrowed his brows and gazed downwards unsure of how the fox tail would react.
"Ask I something embarrassing..." The druid began his face began to blush immediately as the question filled his head. Not looking he tries to hide his face. "How did you adjust to having those on your body." The druid by now was blushing immensely as he thought about the fluffy tail and soft cute ears that adorned the shorter man's body.

Listening to Zyrune talking about Guilds led him to pondering his own situation in that specific area. The only real interaction he'd had was with Caerbannog and that was only really mentioned in passing, besides that the Guilds hadn't really had an impact on his life in the past year. Both he and Jane had scratched out their own lives and hadn't really gotten involved in anything that drew the attention of the larger Adventurer Organisations. Previously that had been fine by him, he wasn't exactly the most outgoing of individuals and the thought of being surrounded by so many people at once still made him quite nervous, but part of him was starting to wonder if perhaps it was the time to start considering getting involved with the wider world.
"You know, maybe we could corroborate at some point, my art and your clothes, I'm sure we could make something interesting," the Foxtail offered shyly, not quite sure how such an action would work but wanting to try and find ways to connect with the Druid to establish a more friendly relationship. It was odd how similar the two actually were after they got over their preconceived notions and got to know one another. He could empathise with the feeling that crafting could be used as a method of keeping busy, it certainly seemed to take up plenty of his time even if he didn't seem to really be getting anywhere with it just yet. Lost as he was in thoughts of his own inadequacies he missed the wink and thus any chances of misinterpreting it.
Shocked out of his musings by the question, it took Jac a few moments to process the question (not to mention the fact that it was a little muffled by Zyrune hiding his face from view). "Eh? Oh....well, for a while I didn't even really notice them, they were kinda instinctual. The tail shifting to adjust to my movements in order to stay balanced, ears moving when I was focused on listening. After a while I started trying to gain conscious control of them, but it's not quite as easy as I had hoped. I still have a decent amount of control over what I do, but it's sorta like consciously trying to breath. You can do it, but if you forget about it the it will do it without your input. Not sure if that makes sense..."
It was somewhat surprising how easily he adjusted to his new body, having taken everything in stride when the apocalypse had occurred (at least in that regard). He knew a lot of people had had difficulties for various reasons, but he supposed that he had so desperately wanted to be anything else but what he was that when he finally had his chance he had embraced it whole heartedly. Jacoben wasn't clumsy, or weak. He didn't get tired as often, or have random aches and pains. He was closer to the ideal of what he had wished to be, and so he had been nothing but pleased with the change.
"It was probably harder for the Werecats anyway..." he added as an afterthought, shrugging slightly as though dismissing the potential difficulties. "What about you? Was there anything that was hard to adjust to when you woke up? Since we're asking that kind of question and all..."

It was an intriguing idea to work together and he had to admit that it was difficult to think of what an artist and a tailor would be able to achieve. However he knew that artisan's could paint better than he could, so if he wanted certain designs on his fabric or perhaps the artisan wanted a higher level fabric for his canvas, then maybe they could work. Perhaps they could even research items that weren't yet possible because no one else had thought about it. Despite being a off the cuff notion from the fox tail, the half alv found himself making a mental note to research what they might be able to achieve by combining their resources and talents.
For a moment the half alv was sure that the fox tail would react negatively to his question and they had every right to as it was their own personal business. Still looking back on it as happy as the druid was with his body right now, he couldn't help but wonder what he would have looked like with some soft animal ears and a rather fluffy tail to wrap around himself at times of uncertainty. He had watched adventurers in town and the sorcerer opposite him, they seemed very comfortable with their new bodies and no one at least not to his knowledge had made a complaint, then again he guessed that many people could use the form shift skill to slightly aid their problems and he thought he heard something about a fox tails being able to high their features if they were strong enough.
Either way the one sitting opposite him didn't seem bothered by his new features at all, then again it had been a whole year since he received them, so if he did have any problems with them, the druid guessed that they were long gone. This was confirmed by Jacoben and it seemed that rather true to their the world, the features had indeed become natural to him and as Zyrune studied the soft porcelain face of the sorcerer opposite him, it was odd to even imagine what he would look like with the dual eyes or cute ears atop his head.
Although the man's question took him back for a moment, he had to admit that there were things that he had to adjust to. His hair was pink and his body was a lot leaner than he had been previously, not only that but he was sure that he was taller, not a lot but slightly taller, his eyes had changed colour and sometimes he even forgot that he looked any different as he stared in the mirror. Not only that but the auto clean function was strange to adjust to, perfect in a hurry but strange. Taking another soft drink from his tea, he wondered if the server would happen by, the druid definitely needed some more tea.
"There is one thing," He opened his mouth and stuck out his tongue, if the sorcerer looked he would see a marking of the Alv race on his tongue. It was odd and it took a while for the druid to even realize that it was there. Apparently every half-alv was born with it and it was the only trait that others could use to show that they were not human. Other than that the lore around half alvs state that they have an affinity towards magic and that mage and healer classes suit them. Closing his mouth he blushed slightly. "The only real difficult thing was my sister." He paused for a moment savoring how her smile was always the first thing to pop into his head when he thought about her. "We were very close, closer than most siblings are and it has been hard to." His voice trailed off and he gave a sigh of defeat. "But everyone lost someone, so no point in missing them and getting upset." He gave a half smile. "All we can do is hope they are okay and move forward."

It would probably be bad form to rub it in Zyrune's face that Jac had no such problems with leaving his real life connections behind. His life had sucked and he'd had few enough real friends that leaving them behind wasn't a problem, he had his closest friend and a whole new world had been opened up before him. Of course, he hadn't really taken advantage of it yet, but even so he could confidently say that he had never been happier. The whole thing with Tadashi was of course so unexpected that he didn't really know what to think of it, and he was having to re-evaluate what it was that made him happy. Still, even before then the loneliness hadn't hurt as much as it had in his past life.
But only a cruel person would say something like that to someone who was missing their own family and friends, and Jac was hardly cruel enough to do something like that. Especially not to someone who was becoming a friend in this new world. It was also somewhat hard not to think about the long tongue with its mark on it, the mental image of a tongue piercing forcing its way into his head and causing him to colour slightly in embarrassment.
"Maybe this will end up like Narnia. If we returned we'd find that it'd only been a few minutes at most since we left...." he offered as means of comfort, knowing how much the thought of his sister bothered the Druid. He on the other hand would be content to never leave this world and go back to his dull and hated old life. He felt more connected to this world than he ever had the old one and he'd be damned if he just wandered back to his world if he had any say in the matter.
But that was a morbid and depressing subject so he decided to change the topic to something a bit more pleasant. "So how far have you travelled from Londinium? I kind of want to go and see what Scotland is like in this world, but I've never really been brave enough to go that far..." he trailed off for a moment, "not that there's anything wrong with Londinium of course, it's been a good place to live even though I haven't gotten my own house just yet. It's been pretty easy to live comfortably after all, although I suppose that would be even easier if I was in a guild..."

| The druid couldn't help but laugh and smile at the comment from the shorter man. In way he was speaking the truth intentionally or not. “About two mouths,” The half alv whispered. Pausing to breath a slow breath, he looked at the sorcerer and gave a shrug. "If the time difference stayed the same, then it's been just over two months old world time." His eyes flickered to catch the fox tail's for a moment before shifting and gazing off towards the bar. "I don't keep track of it or anything, it's just simple math really." Again the druid shrugged.
He was being truthful about not keeping track of it, he had figured it out that a year meant about two months here during his first day, based his whole leveling to get strong and beat the game type thing around it. He knew that if there was a rescue operation going on behind in the old world, it would have taken them longer than two months to try something, that meant a year or more within this one and it was beginning to look like more.
There was talk about some adventurers hoping that they never returned home. People who unlike the druid or perhaps more like him than he liked to believe that held no attachment to the real world, people who Elder Tales was literally an escape for them, people that were trapped like him when the Catastrophe hit saw this as a chance to start again, a fresh new beginning. In the real world they would have suffered and possible never been happy and yet in the the reality of Elder Tales they were better off.
That opnion was slowly rising as adventurers started taking real strides in this new world creating things and making it there own, plus you were immortal, how was that a bad thing? He guessed that some people were having a better time here than they were in their previous lives and he couldn't exactly blame them. Despite recent events, Zyrune's time within this new world had been excited and impressive, he had done so much, seen so much that wouldn't have been possible back home. Here he saved lives, explored and contributed to a society, back home he hadn't really contributed much and he was still struggling to find his purpose.
The only thing that bothered him was that his sister was not here with him. At first he was grateful that she hadn't been sent here alongside him, this world held many dangers and he just wanted to keep her safe and happy. However the time here had been very long and the half alv had missed her plenty, especially as they had been incredibly close and she was the sun to his moon, the beach to his ocean, the complimented each other and caused each other to smile and laugh and since that first day, he hadn't really connected with anyone as much as they had, perhaps it was the bonds of family that allowed them to do so or perhaps they were so close because their personalities were so well complimented in each other, for example not all families held strong bonds.
However the more time past and the more people the druid failed to connect with, he couldn't help but wish that she had come along on the journey. They had never been apart for more than a few days since that she came home from the hospital shortly after being born and he missed her incredibly. It wasn't fair how they literally stood worlds apart. Sometimes he wondered if the magic that existed might allow them to peak home and check on love ones to see if they were okay, but he guessed it was probably better that it didn't. Seeing his sister after so much time had passed would be incredibly upsetting and what if she wasn't doing okay, he would be so upset and hate himself for being able to help her and what if she was going fine and didn't miss him, then he would hate himself because he didn't matter.
Whatever way he looked at it, it was best not to look at it all. At least for the time being, maybe someone else could do it first if it was at all possible, but he guessed the chances of that happening were quite slim. The more adventurer's explored out to the lands of the Unfounded Kingdom, the more crafts they created and the more they experiences, it seemed to the candy floss haired half alv that people were or already had started to accept this new life and weren't so easy to give it up.
Despite the recent fight with Tadashi and humiliation afterwards and the whole no friends thing that the druid currently had going for him, he too was beginning to wonder if given the choice would he still give this world up, would he still grab onto his old life just as fast he might have that first day. In the old world he was unemployed, sure he had that game thing going for him, but that wasn't going to last, he knew that. Something or someone would come along and replace him and he would need to get a real job to support himself and yet he hadn't a clue about what to do.
Not only that but the druid had suffered severe anxiety and panic attacks. Death was a scary thing and no matter how much the boy tried to believe in something else, some kind of god or after life, the darkness the void he experienced during a dreamless sleep lurked over them sending chills through his body. The void lurked as he, along with everyone else that ever existed slowly crept towards the unknown and that literally scared him to pieces, once he even tore curtains off his bedroom windows once during a panic attack shaking himself with tears running down his cheeks as he came out of it feeling twice as bad for letting it get to him as much as it did.
He was grateful for his sister though, his parents looked at him oddly even telling him to grow up and accept it as a part of life, but his sister never saw him differently. She was always there to hold his hand or tell him wonderful things that made the journey so wonderful to experience. However since that first day he awoke here, he didn't have one panic attack, he was immortal and strong, in charge of who he was and where he was going. He didn't have someone telling him he couldn't do this or that. This world was full of possibilities.
However his train of thought was broken as the fox tail mentioned Scotland. The druid had never been there either during his previous life, he had been to Ireland because that was where he was born and raised and France a handful of times because that was where his parents favored their family holidays and they always took the overnight ferry which meant that he had never stepped foot on England too. Pursing his lips in concentration he began to wonder and think about the fox tail's question.
Travel within the unfounded kingdom was hard to do and arduous, you couldn't exactly get in car and within twenty minutes arrive at your destination, not that he knew how to drive anyway. But here you had to walk or ride horses and nearly always you were guaranteed to run into monsters of varying levels wherever you decided to go, so your main class level was taken into consideration and the amount of supplies you could carry or places you could stop and rest were also things to consider. Still as the druid thought about, he had made great strides, strides that he hoped his guild master Saber would be impressed by because it had been the high level assassin that inspired him to train hard and grow and explore and experience the world they now found themselves in.
Letting out a sigh, he shrugged. "I think you'd need a high level to get there." He didn't want to exactly say that Jacoben was weak, but the fox tail lacked levels and with the variety of monsters that existed around Londinium which was regarded as a starter spawn city, he could only guess that monsters that far away would be rare or twice as strong and the lander cities more difficult to reach. It was strange to think that there were uninhabited player oriented cities lying around the unfounded kingdom waiting to be discovered. But that was life.
"I've been here and there, I think the furthest I've gone is to the Temple Of tides on the Isle of grain off the coast somewhat by boat, the most difficult was the miasma realms." He shuddered just thinking for them. "The isle of grain wasn't exciting and the miasma realms were difficult because they are so foreign and strange to everything else. Have you gone far?" The druid already knew the answer judging from the man's level that he wouldn't have ventured far monster location wise, but he may have visited towns and villages nearby for some reason and that was something that the druid wanted to do, especially the village located under that strange moon like orb he had heard about. "Is Scotland important to you?"

"Any treasure you obtain without ever having to work for it is no treasure at all."
|
"That's assuming the time difference remains the same as it was when this was a game," Jac responded quietly, making sure that he wasn't overheard as they talked. It was somewhat of an accepted secret that the actual nature of their original world wasn't discussed where People of the Land might hear it, and after almost a year in this new world meant that many people didn't even bring up the old one anymore unless they were reminiscing, or perhaps becoming better acquainted like he and Zyrune were now.
He sighed and gave a shrug at the mention of his level. He wasn't exactly weak anymore, but he certainly wasn't amongst the strongest of Adventurers and the further from the major Adventurer cities you got the higher the level of the monsters around. Likely getting even close to somewhere like Edinburgh or Glasgow would require he be level 90 or in the presence of a few level 90s at least. And he couldn't even be sure that Falkirk would even be in this world. It was funny he supposed, as much as he was glad to be free of the old world, he still missed his homeland.
"Stratford Upon Avon is probably as far as I've gone so far," the Sorcerer admitted, shrugging slightly as he took a sip of his drink. It wasn't very Adventurer-y of him to have barely gone adventuring, but he had been fairly content finding his way in the world of Theldesia. But now.... for some reason some of that spirit had finally awoken within him and he was starting to feel more confident in himself and his abilities... at least, in a combat setting. He was still utterly useless in any social setting and the thought of large crowds scared him a lot more than fighting high levels monsters.
He blinked slightly at the Druid's final question, a puzzled look on his youthful face. "You mean the accent doesn't give it away? I try and keep it light but I thought it was fairly obvious... I'm Scottish born and raised, I lived in Falkirk before this whole thing happened. It'd be nice to see Scotland again, perhaps even better since it's not spoiled by modern industry here," a wry grin accompanied Jac's words, and the Foxtail turned the question back onto Zyrune, "wouldn't you like to see what the Eire is like now? Home might be very different here than it was there, but I'm sure that there's some measure of familiarity to it, if only I could see it." He couldn't help but chuckle to himself at thoughts of bringing up the nationalism of the old world, after all hadn't Scotland and Ireland been allies of common cause when it came to hating the English for taking everything over? Still, he supposed there wasn't actually a Scotland or Ireland anymore, at least not as sovereign states even if the land was still the same.
Perhaps it was silly of him to want to go and see the place where Falkirk should have been. It might accomplish nothing but cause him to become upset. Still, part of him very much wanted to see the familiar topography, having spent a year in the equivalent of London had fanned the embers of his nationality and what little he had of it was curious about his homeland.

| It was true, no one could actually tell if the time difference had remained the same since the event or if it had changed once the catastrophe struck the world. In fact it was just as plausible that the old world had been replaced by this one or that the two were working away side by side completely unaware of one another, except that thousands of people had been taken from one and displaced in the other. Shaking his head, the druid glared into his drink, the thoughts of the old life weighing down heavily on his shoulders.
It was never a good idea to dwell on the idea, especially when it held such heavy emotions for the half alv and he didn't know if the sorcerer had anyone back home he cared for or if like the trend he would have preferred to stay in the Unfounded Kingdom indefinitely. It was a intriguing thing to consider but right now when there was no choice except moving forward within this world, the druid guessed that at the moment there was nothing to consider.
Stratford upon Avon was a decent city, it was remarkably different to Londinium in both looks and those that inhabited. Londinium was a more adventurer based city, while Stratford was more people of the land based and it was more on edge due to it's proximity to the Miasma realms. Zyrune had been there only a handful of times twice due to the guild quests that he had been sent on in the Miasma Realms while most recently he had gone there with Tadashi and had a pleasant time before everything happened.
The inhabitants of the city liked to look at themselves as protectors against the corruption, corruption that the druid still didn't fully understand. Heretics a class adventurers have access to used corruption to their advantage to defeat monsters that plagued the world that people of the land inhabited and yet people of the land seemed to treat Heretics like pariahs when they protected them just like every other adventurer.
Come to think of it, Zyrune had met two separate heretics and both didn't seem to fit the whole pariah plague on the lands idea that people of the land seemed to be trying to give people.
Shaking his head of the thoughts, he smiled as he watched the man opposite him for a moment. He seemed to think that Zyrune's simply inquiry was the strangest thing in the entire world to him or at least that was what the half alv gathered from the look on the fox tail's face. In fact it had totally gone over the pink haired man's head that the adventurer was Scottish. In fact he had never been good with placing accents, the only thing that mattered when it came to accents at least where the pink haired half alv was concerned was how nice things would be the owner of such an accent was as handsome and dashing as he imagined and held him close and whispered sweet nothing into his ear.
Shaking himself of the sordid thoughts before his body reacted and cruelly reminded him that he would be walking home alone due to his recent break up,, he chuckled trying to focus on what the sorcerer was saying. It did surprise him that the sorcerer was able to place his country of origin so quickly and he couldn't help but wonder if it had been his accent or something that the druid had mentioned that had given it away. Still it was nice to know that the sorcerer was picking up on the little of things that Zyrune did or said that others didn't seem to care about. That meant at least the fox tail was interested in trying to befriend him, that was important and part of him chided himself for being so sloppy already. The accent was an easy thing to notice about someone and for some reason it had been completely oblivious to him. He just hoped that the sorcerer wasn't reading into things as much as it seemed the half alv seemed to be.
It was certainly true that Zyrune wanted to return to Ireland especially if to see how well it had been recreated here in this world. Normally England and Ireland were pushed together in a way that many other countries seemed to think they were still one country. However normally Ireland due to the world wide notions of the people's accents and the lore surround the Isle of green resulted in many recreations whether it be in film, books or even anime that wasn't at all realistic or even somewhat similar. It was a common thing in popular media to recreate Ireland as this kind of backwards farming isle consumed by deep religion, when in fact it was home to an amazing cultured group of people and cities.
As he thought about it he couldn't help but grin. "You might be lucky, I would like to think the only thing they would have tried to recreate was the loch ness monster, perhaps it is a raid." He couldn't help but laugh, his eyes sparkling playfully. "I would love to try that one." However he breathed a sigh as he turned his thoughts back to Ireland. "However I don't even want to think about the rainbow leprechaun and fairy monsters that have been created to over run Ireland." He bite his lip and smiled.
"Still though I'd like to see what it is like. There is a place where you can swim between the counties back home, I'd say it would still be possible." The druid fell silent for a moment before shrugging. "I've heard however that the sea holds some kind of barrier, apparently someone or something tried to go to France with no luck. So I think the Loch Ness Raid is the only actual achievable thing at the moment at way."

"Any treasure you obtain without ever having to work for it is no treasure at all."
|
Jacoben groaned slightly at that thought, shaking his head slightly even as he acknowledged that Zyrune was almost certainly right and they probably had turned Loch Ness into a raid zone. "Why is it always about Loch Ness? That and Kilts and Haggis, I bet the Landers are all wearing tartan and you can get the recipe for haggis there. Ugh, darn stereotypes." he grumbled as he took another sip of his drink. It was a pet peeve of his that all people were shown of his country were those things when there was so much more to Scottish culture, but no it was all stereotypes and Mel Gibson. It was probably the same for Zyrune, after all to most people Ireland was nothing but a stereotype, particularly with the American bastardisation of St Patrick's day.
"Maybe they'll have done their research and put in the proper Faerie Folk?" he offered with a shrug when the pink haired man mentioned leprechauns, "Selkies and Bean Sidhe and the like could be interesting. Perhaps the Tuatha Dé Danann as raid bosses or something? That would be really neat..." he wasn't sure just how likely that was, but then the Half-Gaia project had tried to get the world as accurate as it could and it was entirely possible that the creators of Elder Tales had been as thorough as possible to ensure that every country was created relatively accurately.
He might not have been as knowledgeable in it as other subjects but Jac had always been interested in the Celtic past of the isles and even had an understanding of Scots Gaelic, though he wouldn't call himself fluent by any means. If they had brought the Celtic influence into the Unfounded Kingdom then he would be very happy indeed.
Ears twitched slightly as the Druid brought up a failed attempt to get to France, his silver haired head tilting to the side as he thought about it. "Perhaps the way can be opened somehow, I mean the Unfounded Kingdom was supposed to introduce the British Isles and that would include Ireland. Even if we can't get to France, that's just another server so maybe it'd make sense, but not being able to get to Ireland at all? I have a strong doubt about that," he commented idly as he traced a finger around the rim of his cup. That would certainly make for an interesting adventure, sailing across the Irish Sea and landing in Dublin or whatever the Theldesian equivalent was. No doubt it would be a difficult journey, possibly including a fight with sea monsters as they tried to cross over onto the large island.
Lost in thought for a while the Sorcerer shook his head slightly and gave Zyrune a wry grin, "I doubt either of us could get there just yet though, it would probably require a group of level 90s to cross the sea considering how far from safe zones it is. There's bound to be any number of very powerful monsters out in the seas that would tear us apart if we tried getting close. Still, it's something to consider in the future. Perhaps you could become the king of Ireland," he added with a chuckle, though he could sort of picture Zyrune with a crown upon his brow. It would be a striking appearance that was for sure...
Perhaps one day he could make a crown for the Half-Alv, but that would probably be weird... what was it with him and odd thoughts today?
Completely unaware of his surroundings, Jac didn't take much notice of the way that his face tinted slightly red as he imagined the rather dashing form Zyrune made in the golden crown that the youth was currently picturing on him. What was going on? It was like he was so focused on certain things now that he couldn't properly control his own thoughts. Perhaps it was because it had taken him so long to start noticing such things that now he was getting hit with many years worth of it all at once. That would be just his luck, to be faced with such an odd and irritating affliction... so typical.

| The druid couldn't help but laugh at the sorcerer's words. It was certainly true, the world seemed to have very odd opinions of the people and culture of Scotland and Ireland. However the half alv definitely hoped for their sake anyway that their homelands were created with as much attention to detail and research as the rest of the countries had been. "I really hope that the people of the land warriors that guard this server as based on the Tuatha De Danann or some kind of Irish warrior." He smiled as he imagining ancient and powerful long haired elves wielding swords blessed by fairy magic fighting the evil of this world.
"It would be so interesting don't you think?" He smiled at the fox tail opposite him, almost forgetting that why they had met up in the first place. The druid made a funny noise as a thought crossed his mind. "Can you imagine the music they might have included?" The druid's face was clear enough sign that he didn't have a fondness for traditional Irish music.
Then again he had only played briefly in France and hadn't really seen much of it, but there were not french people of the land selling fresh baguettes with weird mustaches and so he hoped that the same could be said for both Scotland and Ireland. "I wonder if there is an Adventurer city up there. I mean Edinburgh is a pretty major city in the old world, so it makes sense to either make it an adventurer city or at least a well developed people of the land residence, same for Dublin I guess or at least I hope Dublin was important enough to recreate." He gave a shrug. "Doesn't really matter much to me anyway, my home is further south and I definitely know that the cities and towns there wouldn't have been recreated, they weren't exactly that big or well known."
He nodded as the fox tail talked. It made sense that if everything else within the game had remained more or less the same post Catastrophe, then the boundaries between servers also remained the same. However it wouldn't have made sense to have Ireland on it's own server so putting it within the English one made the most sense. "As far as I remember, the oceans and I guess seas are filled with high level raid monsters." He paused, brows furrowed in thought.
"Yeah I think I remember this guild on the american server had fun literally fighting them one by one, I think it was there motto or something." The half alv shrugged. "Still though, if we can't swim to Ireland, I guess we can always fly." He smirked. "Crafters are creating new things everyday, shouldn't be too long before someone builds a hot air balloon."
He clasped his hands together. "Maybe if we get our subclasses high enough, we could do it." He laughed aloud this time. "I can just see us The Kings Of Scotland and Ireland." He grinned. "You'd make good royalty, you've got that handsome prince look." The druid joked, blushing shortly after once he realized what he had said, falling silent as a wave of sudden embarrassment washed over him.
Swallowing, he coughed to clear his throat and break the silence. "Monsters I can see existing would have to be the Banshee, Dobhar-chu would be interesting, oh and the headless horseman would be a given, they haven't passed up under creations at all." He paused and pursed his lips. "I wish they had, skulls creep me out." He added in a low mutter.

"Any treasure you obtain without ever having to work for it is no treasure at all."

"I dunno, Irish reels are rather neat if done right, and I was pretty fond of the Dubliners," Jac responded mid sip of his drink, shaking his head to emphasise his point, "if this world's Scotland is filled with bagpipes then I will not be very happy, I mean sure there's something stirring about them and they're part of my cultural heritage but... they make a such racket as well." He liked the pipes occasionally, but hearing them too often and the very first cacophonic notes always made him wince a little bit. Still...it would be very nostalgic if he thought about, hearing the amateur pipers busking or something.
"Edinburgh would almost certainly be there, and probably Glasgow," the Sorcerer mused, those were the most likely candidates for Adventurer cities with other larger cities being predominantly for the People of the Land. He couldn't help but wonder if Falkirk would be anywhere in this world, and what it might be called. Would he even want to go and visit the place he had once lived in or would that be too hard?
His attention shifted as Zyrune changed the topic a little, hot air balloons? That could lead to zepplins, and then from there it was a short jump to airships. Lost in fantasies of sky pirates and Final Fantasy XII he almost missed the compliment from the pink haired half alv, his mismatched eyes widening slightly as a dusting of pink rose on his cheeks. "I'd make terrible royalty, I'm not confident enough," he muttered, hiding his face behind his mug as he finished his drink and ordered another in an attempt to settle the sudden rising nerves which were plaguing him.
"Should aim a little lower at first anyway, like the Isle of Man," the Foxtail stated after clearing his throat, attempting to laugh off the comment in a way that didn't insult the Druid while allowing Jac to save some degree of face in the matter. He hadn't expected the other male to turn the subject onto him and it had left him feeling a little bit out of his depth, especially since part of him began to wonder if Zyrune had just flirted with him or not....
Nah, it had to be his imagination.
He was probably just imagining it, the whole relationship thing with Tadashi leading him to see things where they weren't due to the whole new world that had opened up to him as a result of the unexpected pairing that had snuck up on him. He tried to focus instead on the conversation that they were having rather than pondering an impossible situation.
"Did you buy a house yet?" he inquired out of the blue, trying to change the subject away from something that seemed to try to stick into his mind.
