[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]RIA [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Rhiannon Connolly [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]AGE: 22 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Heterosexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: lucina, FIRE EMBLEM [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Capt. Squirrel [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"] Avatar Ria’s avatar bears little resemblance to her real world appearance. In the real world, Ria is about 5’4, 120 pounds, and has straight shoulder length brown hair. She would be the first to admit that her appearance wasn’t exactly exciting, which is why she elected to change a few of her features when creating her character. She added a couple of inches to her avatar’s height, so she now stands at 5’7. Instead of keeping her hair a boring brown, Ria elected to change the color to a dark blue. She also lengthened it by several inches, although she later realized that longer hair could be somewhat annoying and so generally pulls it back into a simple ponytail. When she enters into combat, her eyes turn golden and wolf ears and a tail appear. Her nose is also completely straight, where in the real world it is slightly crooked. Despite these changes, some similarities remain. Her eyes are the same shade of blue and her facial structure has retained the same angular cheekbones and slightly pointy chin. Ria also elected to carry over her rather wiry build which hides a surprising amount of muscle. However, overall Ria’s avatar looks much more dignified than her real world self, which doesn’t always entirely fit her personality. However, her crooked smile has the tendency to immediately shatter any illusion of dignity. When it comes to selecting clothing, Ria typically prefers practicality and comfort over fashion. In game she tends to choose Western styles, often with high boots and as she has a sizable disliking for skirts, trousers. Aside from those criteria, she generally doesn’t care too much about what she wears. The majority of her clothing tends to be blue though, as it is by far her favorite color. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] Ria is generally an easygoing and friendly individual, especially at first glance. She is energetic, outgoing, and has a surprising love of puns. She often puts other people first and is willing to drop everything to help a friend. She tends to talk a bit too much, though she often avoids talking about herself. In the event that Ria is the topic, she will rarely speak about anything that is actually consequential and will often attempt to change the subject. While she doesn’t exactly have many secrets, Ria finds it easier to focus on others rather than on herself. She also possesses a boundless and insatiable curiosity, which many people can find slightly annoying. If she doesn’t know something, Ria will want to find out about it. This can range to the favorite foods of someone she just met to what she might find in unexplored regions. Sometimes when she realizes that she’s being nosy, Ria will attempt to reign in her curiosity, but her restraint tends not to last for long. Ria is also a rather spontaneous individual; when she gets an idea into her head, chances are that something will come of it. However, sometimes she fails to follow through on her initial plans when other ideas get in the way. The positive side of this is that while she does tend to plan in advance, she is also flexible and is able to improvise when the situation demands it. One area where she isn’t so flexible is when it concerns her values. Ria has a strong sense of justice and feels that her value system is absolute. If she witnesses something that she believes to be unjust, chances are that she will attempt to fix the situation. While she would never admit it, Ria does like to play the hero and she is quick to put herself in a situation where this would be necessary. She comes across as a bit goofy, often cracking horrible jokes and teasing those close to her. Insults seem to bounce off her as well it is a surprise when her temper does show. Typically it takes a lot to set her off, but when she does lose her temper, all trace of her typical goofiness disappears. Instead she seems to be incredibly calm and collected, and surprisingly cold. Chances are that she won’t even raise her voice, but anyone who knows her will find the change shocking. While Ria outwardly radiates energy and confidence, she is actually rather insecure. She knows that she is out of her league and will go to great lengths to prove that she is capable of dealing with a situation. Sometimes her false confidence can be interpreted as cockiness, but those who know her well might notice that when she becomes nervous her sense of humor becomes even cheesier than it normally is. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"] Ria was born to a middle-class family in Belfast, the elder of a set of twins. Her parents owned a small bookstore, the sort that was packed with leaning bookshelves and seemed impossibly larger on the inside than one would guess from the modest storefront. Unfortunately for her parents, as a child Ria found the shop to be the perfect labyrinth to play in, instead of the perfect spot for a bit of quiet reading. Not that she disliked reading, but she insisted on acting out her favorite scenes and tended to drag her twin brother into her schemes. Although they never admitted it outright, her parents were relieved when she started school and became heavily involved in organized sports. Since Ria would play just about any sport, she was able to burn off at least some of her seemingly boundless energy before she returned home. They weren’t as pleased about her brother’s newfound pastimes as he began playing all sorts of video games. While Ria never had the same level of interest as her brother, she occasionally did play some in order to find out just what he found so intriguing about them. She did enjoy being the hero, but most games simply did not capture her interest for long. When Ria was fourteen, her parents were forced to sell their bookshop as the store simply was not making enough money to support the family. The family ended up moving just outside of London as Ria’s father managed to find a position as a professor in a nearby university and they had relatives that lived in the vicinity. While it was a bit difficult to leave her friends behind, Ria adjusted to life in a different city and school rather quickly. Her brother found the move much more difficult. Despite their different personalities, Ria had always been close to her brother and was the first to realize that something was wrong. He was generally on the quiet side, but he seemed ever more reticent and withdrawn. Without telling him, Ria began to look into the matter and soon found that he was being bullied by a group of older boys. Though inwardly she was terrified, Ria decided to confront the bullies, assuming that they would be more hesitant to mess with a girl. She was quickly proven wrong, and despite being rather athletic, she wound up with a black eye and a broken nose. While her eye healed before long, her nose remained somewhat crooked. However, her actions weren’t a complete failure as the older boys were expelled soon after the incident. Regardless, the fact that it had taken so long for the school to act ticked her off. Over the next several years, Ria began to think more of her future. While she enjoyed sports, she was nowhere near good enough at anything to play competitively. Although she began to work part-time at her uncle’s auto repair shop, she didn’t want to work there forever, even if she was surprisingly good at solving issues. Her parents encouraged her to attend a university, where she began to study engineering. However, it wasn’t long before she found herself incredibly bored with her program. Her grades began to slip and she considered dropping out until a friend suggested that she try to find something else. After sampling several programs, she found that criminology was able to hold her attention and she began to consider becoming a police officer. While her parents weren’t too pleased about the idea of her going into such a dangerous profession, once she made up her mind there was nothing they could do to stop her. After she finished college, she applied and was accepted into a police department in a small city a few hours outside of London. She successfully completed her training, but about six months into her probationary period she was involved in a car accident while on the way to a call when another vehicle ran a stoplight. While neither Ria’s partner nor the driver of the other police car suffered serious injuries, Ria ended up breaking both legs. While she was expected to completely recover, Ria found herself wheelchair bound and unable play sports or do anything at work aside from a desk job. Within a day of her release from the hospital, she was simply bored. Her family had rushed over when they had heard of her accident, and her brother was gushing about the fact that some old game he had always wanted to play was going to have a British server. As she had nothing better to do, Ria allowed her brother to talk her into playing it. Thinking that she probably wouldn’t be playing for too long, Ria didn’t put much thought into her character. For her avatar’s name, she simply used her nickname. She did spend some time on the appearance, but she didn’t spend much time weighing one race or class against another, instead she just went with whichever caught her attention first. After all, it wasn’t going to matter and she acknowledged that she probably wouldn’t ever be that great at the game anyways. As luck would have it, the Catastrophe occurred the same day she chose to log in for the first time. Ria found herself in a completely unfamiliar world, completely out of her league. She didn’t even know if her brother was in the same position as her since he had failed to let her know what his in game name was before the Catastrophe. Of course, it wasn’t all bad. The injuries sustained in the car accident had not carried over and the prospect of exploring this strange world was incredibly enticing. Ria wasn’t certain whether to be terrified or excited, but seeing as she was now stuck in this world, she decided to make the most of it. The weapons will then be levitated into the air and controlled by an AI to fight alongside them. Depending on vocal commands, the AI can be designated to either focus on all-out attacking, defensive play, or balance fighting. Maintaining this skill results in a constant drain on the swashbuckler's MP. At the first rank, only one weapon can be controlled by this skill. [attr="class","skill"]High Roller: Tier I Swashbuckler Skill The swashbuckler attempts to bridge defense with offense by dodging an incoming attack and curling the body together to make multiple mid-air rolls as they land over to a new position. At the same time, their weapons are pointed outward, cutting at any opponent that tries to reach at them. [attr="class","skill"]Mirage Dealer: Tier I Swashbuckler Skill Dual wield skill. The Swashbuckler performs a forward X-slash with their two weapons to slash at an opponent, then immediately teleports a meter forward. This usually places them behind the enemy, allowing them to either bypass their line or enable them to continue attacking before the enemy realizes what just happened. Because of the flashiness of this skill, it's a popular technique among aspiring warriors. Try not to use it while the opponent's at the edge of a cliff or right against a wall, though. You'll either plummet to your death or crash face-first into a wall. [attr="class","skill"]Shuffle Windmill: Tier I Swashbuckler Skill The Swashbuckler spins in place and performs 4 rotations with outstretched weapons, forming a horizontal sawblade attack. It can also be performed from a downed position in order to spin and transition into a final standing pose. This technique has optimal results if the lengths of both weapons are the same. Be careful of your party members' positions before you attempt it though. [attr="class","skill"]Disassembly: Mechanic Level 1 Skill Toggle skill. Mechanics have a certain affinity with taking apart machines, so monsters that are mechanical in nature had better watch out. Mechanics deal 20% more damage to Machine-type monsters. They can also cancel buffs on Machine-type monsters upon a successful hit. [attr="class","skill"]Battle Perception: Pathfinder Level 1 Skill Toggle skill. Battle perception allows the Pathfinder to notice nearby monsters more easily by displaying their names and levels above their heads. It allows the Pathfinder to detect monsters about ten feet further than a normal character, and is most useful for preventing ambushes. [attr="class","skill"]Call of Home: General Skill A skill learnable by any class. Upon use, it will teleport the character back to the character's 'home city.' This is designated by using the skill while in the city of question. It has a cooldown time of one hour per use. [attr="class","h3"]Equipment [attr="class","b2"] [attr="class","skill"] Starter Chainmail : A basic set of chainmail armor made from cheap iron. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. [attr="class","skill"] Starter Long Sword : A starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron.
